The S.S Mystic [IC] ( )

Postby NightLady on Mon Mar 16, 2009 9:58 pm

Story/Plot

On Land:

It was 1st March 2009.The S.S Mystic set off from Florida, somewhere near the Bermuda triangle. It was planned as a week long luxury cruise. Many different people flocked to get tickets aboard this magnificent ship. It had many facilities and rooms, one of the best in the world although the facilities were pretty similar to other cruise ships. What made it special were its size and the ability to hold much more facilities than the normal ships. Four hours after it set off on the week long voyage, signal was lost. Reports were that it had crossed the boundaries of the Bermuda Triangle and had disappeared into the Bermuda Triangle.

On Board:

The captain of the ship realised immediately that something was not right. He could no longer see land. That would mean that he had manoeuvred the cruise into the boundaries of the Bermuda triangle for there was supposed to be land seen during the week long journey. Another thing was that for about half an hour, the equipment had not been working properly. This could have led them right into the boundaries.

In the Triangle:

In the triangle, the ship would continue moving forever unless they find a way out. They will not be able to stop and there would be an endless supply of food, water, petrol and all the other daily necessities etc. Soon, the passengers will realise what is going on. Will they spend the rest of their lives there or will they be able to find a way out?

Victoria wandered around the pier, waiting to board the huge cruise ship. There were many people waiting there with her too.She felt really excited. After seeing the brochure of the ship which her father passed her,she immediately knew that this was the perfect place for her vacation. After all,Alexis would be there with her and it would be even more exciting. Alexis was her cousin and they were as close as real sisters. Many people mistaken them for real sisters.

Alexis hurried up and down the ship, making sure everything was great. Her job wasn't easy but it was quite fun.She got to roam the seas and travel around the world.Traveling around the world is her dream, and her late parents'. She was excited, this was her first job since she graduated. She knew she had to do it well. She went to the engine room and checked that everything was okay. The engines were running good and all was well.Since this was her last place before welcoming the passengers and there was still some time, she decided she would go look for Victoria first.

Theodore waited in the massive crowds of people that awaited the time that they could board the exceptionally large, not to mention expensive cruise ship. His small, beige duffel bag was slung over his shoulder. It held a weeks worth of clothes, his entertainment kit, his extra money, and the couple bottles of vodka he had brought with him.
The time was nearing, and the tension in the crowd was palpable, you could feel the energy and excitement crackling in the air and in the conversations. Theodore slipped his phone back into his pocket, pulled out the Ipod Touch he had so recently bought, and turned it on. Putting the headphones into his ears, he turned it up so that only faint traces of sound could be heard outside his head.
Noticing a young woman wandering around the pier he wondered if she was lost, looking for someone, or just waiting like the rest of them. He was sorely tempted to go say hi, but he held back, not knowing anything could be dangerous. He zipped open the upper pouch on his bag, pulled out his ticket, his bottle of breathing fluids, and a zippo lighter. Maybe while people were in their rooms he would find a private area and practice his breathing.

Issac wiped down the bar top, tossing the damp cloth onto his shoulder once satisfied with his last minute touch-up. He had made it a priority to make sure things were set and ready, he wanted nothing more than for things to go smoothly on his first day aboard. "Unbelievable ... " He spoke outloud to himself, still amazed he had even landed this job. The S.S Mystic was one of the most luxurious and sought after cruise ships around, the bar alone was rather extravagant and impressive looking. The bar was lined with black velvet bar stools, and behind the counter there was an endless amount of bottled liquor, wine, champagne and anything else you could think of.

Pulling up the sleeve of his black dress shirt, Issac glanced at his watch. Passengers would be boarding shortly, he was sure the lounge and bar area would fill up nicely.

"Miss Cross."Someone said in a gruff voice. It was too low to be a woman and too high to be a man.She wondered who it was.She turned around and saw Alexis."Alexis!"She exclaimed."You caught me!I was wondering who it was!"She said, grinning and giving her a hug.

"Well,I did have fun scaring you"Alexis answered. She then quickly added in the gruff voice,"Miss Cross. Are you boarding soon?"The two of them then started giggling. "Yes,I'll be boarding soon.I still can't believe my father had a motive for putting me on board.I still have to get ready for the speech at tonight's welcoming ball."Victoria said."Think you can get me on board earlier?"

Alexis rolled her eyes and said,"Sure,Miss Cross.I can't believe you're still thinking about what Uncle said at this point of time!Anyways, that guy with a duffel bag has been looking at you."She then glanced at Theodore who had his back turned on them.Victoria looked over and caught eye of the ticket."He's probably looking around for the crew."She winked. She knew what Alexis said was true. She noticed him looking at her too.

Victoria then followed Alexis on board. Her luggage was probably in her room by now.Once on board, she was given her room key by Alexis.Alexis said that she was instructed by the captian to do that. She was then showed around the ship by one of the other crew members before returning to her cabin.Once in her cabin, she started planning for her speech. After all,the other passengers would be boarding soon.

Nissa was uptight as his limousine pulled into the boarding parking lot. His day had been long and tiresome and full of traveling. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his last birthday present, a thin pink envelope. Using his pinky nail to tear it open, he reached inside and withdrew a long golden ticket. 'S.S. Mystic', in read in large bold letter's. "This would explain why my parent's had me pack my bag's and fly halfway across America." He mumbled to himself. He had heard about the boat on television and had also seen advertisement's for it online. He pulled out his blackberry and quickly keyed in a 'thank you <33' and sent it to his mother. Pushing a button on the arm of the chair beside him, he heard his hired chauffeur walk around the limo and open his door. Taking his Vuitton dog bag, with his mini Yorkshire terrier Mac inside it, he stepped out the door. Smiling at the chauffeur whose name he had not learned he told him to bring the bag's to the boarding section, and how he was going to take a look around.

Jonathan was running so late! Most of the other crew members were already on the ship... and it was nearly time for the passengers to board!

He was sitting in the passengers seat of his sister's SUV, hand anxiously on the doorknob, staring outside the window at the impressive crowd just outside. All hype was centered around the massive ship, which was more spectacular than anything he'd seen before. He was amazed and humbled at the same time. How the hell did he get this job?! He was worried he was about to lose it if he didn't hurry up though. It was his sister's fault he was late... really it was. She was going out of town, with her child, to visit the kid's father, who lived there for business reasons. If only she didn't take so damn long with her hair, and wasn't his only available ride.

Once the car came to a stop, he leapt out of the car. "Good luck... and send do get me something?" His sister, Amber, whined. She was a bit envious he'd be going on the ship that has recently been getting so much publicity. "Bye uncle Johnny!" The little boy in the back cooed. Jonathan didn't reply to any of this, he was too hurried. Going quickly to the back of the car, he opened the trunk, and quickly grabbed one of the two tan backpacks. This would contain his clothes and other personal items.

Slinging the pack over his shoulder, his cheeks burned with humiliation as he wandered the crowd, head down, trying to figure out how to get on the boat without waiting with the passengers. Which would turn out all the more humiliating.

Almost to the end of the line and so close to getting on the boat, Theodore watched a long limo pull up alongside the crowd. He paused, watching the person slide out from the back compartment. Theodore recognized the client. He had performed for the boy a while back, and many people with him. His parents were decently well off and they wanted a good birthday for their young boy. He had changed since Theodore had seen him, more feminine, especially with the bag and the small dog.

"Sir, may I see your ticket?" and after a slight pause, the attendant asked again, "sir, your ticket please."

"Oh, of course, here you go," Theodore replied, very absentmindedly, moving the dark red hair out of his eyes. 'I need this cut when I reach land again' He thought, grabbing the envelope that held the key to his room of the podium and walked onto the ship.

Quickly moving through the throng of people trying to find their rooms, Theodore soon found his and dropped off his stuff, grabbing the rucksack with the fluids and other equipment he needed to fire breathe and dance. He slipped through the hallways, jostled by the excited people, he didn't know where he could practice. He kept walking, maybe he could find a quiet place.

Alexis hurried to Deck 8 where the passengers were starting to board the ship. She hoped she was on time,or the Captain will kill her.She managed to reach there just as the first passengers were starting to board the ship. She looked at her reflection in the dark tinted windows and made sure her hair was in place and her clothes were neat. She beamed proudly as she welcomed the passengers on board.

Victoria wrote and rewrote the speech. She still could not think of anything to write. She decided to head over to Deck 12,where she could enjoy the cool breeze and great view of the pier,at the same time, find inspiration for her speech. She watched as the people slowly boarded the ship. She caught eye of a rather feminine looking guy.He seemed a little strange but she found it cool. She noticed the guy whom she saw before boarding was observing him, deep in his thoughts. When he boarded too,she slowly walked over to the other side where the basketball courts were.Over there, she faced the beautiful blue sea.

Seeing looking around from atop one of the staircases, Theodore notice that there was nobody near the athletic courts. Knowing that this would be ideal as only the nets would burn if something got out of hand, he headed towards them.

Arriving at the courts, he noticed a girl a ways down the deck, and since she was far enough away, he might be able to get away with the breathing without too much hassle. Turning away from her and into the middle of the tennis court, he pulled out his lighter and checked to see that it was in working condition. It was. Next, he pulls out a metal stave with tight, flammable cloth wrapped around both ends. They had been doused in kerosene, and let dry so the stench wouldn't travel around the boat and alarm the passengers or crew. Lighting it, he took a sip out of the fluid bottle and leaned forwards, allowing a large fireball to escape 15 feet from him for a few seconds.

Victoria noticed something moving from the corner of her eye.She turned and saw the guy walking in the direction of one of the courts.Feeling that something was weird, she followed him secretly and watched as he did some fire breathing. It looked really cool since she rarely saw this type of stuff. She decided not to stop him although it may cause harm to the ship. After all,she do not correct something wrong if it interests her.She walked over and watched him through the nets. She won't be endangered, since she was at a pretty safe distance away.

Cleo stood frozen in front of the enormous boat. Yikes-abee! So Big! So many People! She clutched her purse to her chest and mentally suited up : Cleo! Your a big girl get a grip will ya! First impressions rule the social circles.

Right at that moment a gust of wonderful sea air blew past her lifting her skirt. CRIPES!!! Cleo dropped her purse, letting it spill as she tried to save her honor by clasping her skirt between her knees and then scrambled to get her things.

Awesome just awesome, as much as she admired the lovely Ms. Monroe she truly didn’t want to pay this tribute to her! Cleo stuffed her things unceremoniously back into her purse, grabbed the handle to the trolley carrying her matched luggage and the rest of her dignity. Pulled it forward to the ticket taker who took her ticket (thus his name) and then called someone over to take the trolley then handed her her key, and other papers. Please be a map Please be a map.

Cleo let out her breath as she exited the throng of people and entered the ship. FINALLY! she thought now only if I knew where I was. Relived there was indeed a map she located her room and made a beeline for it.

'952' Nissa read, glancing one last time at his map "Deck 8, Shops... Deck 9, Spa and 11 Jacuzzi." He smiled confident that he had learned the places that where important he tossed his map into a trash can. "Narf!" he felt Mac struggle in his arm's, and then it hit him. Looking to his left he placed the man who the repulsive smell of fast food emitted from. Rudely holding his nose he scurried away. Finding an elevator he clicked the button three times quickly in succession, 'Ding!' the elevator opened, glancing into the elevator he saw it was full with a Asian couple and there two daughters and there luggage. He smiled at the mother and turned around. Looks like he'd be taking the stair's.

Oh my word I've actually found it! Cleo open her cabin door and stepped inside flopping instantly on the bed. It had taken her what seemed like a lifetime to find this accursed room. She was beginning to think it didn't exist.

Thanks to her “map” she’d visited almost every deck and section of the ship. Though a bit frustrating and potentially problematic her misadventure had let her peruse all the ship had to offer, up close and personal-like, including but not limited to the male element. And what an element it was, Oh her mother would have a heyday here. Cleo could hear it now: "Think of the Potential Sweetheart! Oh my what cute babies he'd give you!" Cleo shivered. It wasn't that she didn't like men, far from it! Or that she was opposed to marriage, just.. just..

"Alright then" Cleo said sitting up and banishing her thoughts "Lets have a look around shall we" kicking off her sandal heals Cleo strolled the length of the room admiring the finery. Stopping at the window (can she have a window?) she gazed out at the open sea in awe
"OH!" she squealed, this is going to be great.

Looking back at the room she noticed her luggage in a corner. Not wanting to live out of her suitcase the whole time she began to put things away.

Storie hurried along, her feet softly falling on the thick carpet. She had just put her bags in her room and was headed to the restaurant she was working in. The Mediterranean. Finding the cloth that she used to wipe down tables, she proceeded to do so, her hand moving in rhythmic circles. Noticing another worker in a bar nearby, she smiled. I guess I am not the only one who wants this to work out. She needed the money, and even if she hated the job, she might as well do a good job on it and get a raise right? Once the counters were wiped down, she went on to the tables, then, after washing the cloth out she headed over to the bar. Making sure she didn't dirty the newly wiped down counter, she leaned against it and asked, "Whats your name, mine is Storie."

Walking down the lane of the crowded ship, Jonathan was heading straight for the crew's quarters. He did not take time to mingle with the passengers he was boarding with. The security wouldn't let him on at first because he couldn't locate his ticket. He'd left his proof of employment in the one pair of pants he didn't pack! He didn't even bother rummaging through his bag.

When they finally let him on (it just occurred to him he had the keys to his room), most of the passengers had already boarded, and he was getting on with a few late stragglers. This couldn't of looked good. He wasn't even in the mood to look around the impressive liner. Just straight to his room for him. Maybe unpacking and making the place feel a bit like his own would make him feel better. Unfolding the map which had been given to everyone, he had no problem finding the place. He was impressed by all they had to offer. Forgetting his earlier frustration, he felt excited now. Excited just to be here.

Opening the door to his room, he reveled in the modern and clean look. He tossed his bag onto the bed, he unzipped it to discover a small blue two piece swimsuit. Wait... what?!?! Opening it further, he discovered that none of these clothes were his... and to make it worse... ew! Tampon! Oh, god. He'd grabbed the wrong bag!

Rushing out of the room, he ran for the nearest railing, which overlooked the side of the ship. Scoping the area, he tried to find sign of the red SUV. She had already gone! "No no no!" He cried out, covering his face with his hands and drawing concerned looks from those around him.

Cleo looked appraisingly into the mirror at herself. Well it would have to do. Her hair was pulled back into a braid because it refused to play nice. Stupid humidity. After unpacking she had checked the Ships itinerary for the day:
Take off was less then an hour away and every one was welcomed to go to the top decks and wave to all the jealous people below. Then it looked like there was a welcoming party later that evening. Not having anyone to wave at and the party didn’t start for a good few hours, she decided to go out and have a more in depth look at things, and perhaps shop a little.
Cleo grabbed her purse stuffed the yet-to-be-useful map into it and left the room. She had noted all the stairways she saw on her previous exploration and knew there was one just down the hall next to the elevators. Making her way down the hall she heard a ping of the elevator as it reached her floor. She stood aside and let the occupants exit then she flounced past the death traps and skipped down the steps.
Paying more attention to the décor around her and not where she was going Cleo about ran into someone
“Oh yikes!” Cleo stopped short of crashing right into them “I’m so sorry!” Cleo backed up a stair and, smiled apologetically. The person in front of her was very good looking, and they held a puppy. The dog barked at her, or at least tried, it was more of a yip.
“What a cute dog, I didn’t know they allowed them on board! A Yorkie right?”

Issac was looking over the inventory sheets when a young woman approached him, he had noticed her moments before wiping down tables in the restaurant. The Mediterranean and the bar where he worked were joint. Issac grinned, extending his hand towards her as he introduced himself. “Hello, I'm Issac.” he responded. He assumed she was one of the waitresses.

The sounds of pots and pans rattling in the kitchen among clanging cutlery and avid conversation were just a mixture of the noises that could be heard. Issac could also make out the laughter of young children, he was assuming many passengers had already boarded and were exploring the vessel.

The flames died away, and Theodore spun, spitting flames as fast as he could. Finally, pivoting in a full spin he held the blowout and had fire end in a ring. Lifting his head, and spitting the last of the fluid out onto the baton, it flared, and he capped it, putting out the flames.

Bending down, he noticed he had gathered a small group of people to watch him, including the girl from earlier today. He placed the baton in his bag, and placed the fluid into its place. He picked up his bag, bowed like a gentlemanly showman, and exited his "stage" not wanting to get people too excited. He felt his stomach rumble at him, and sensing he was famished, he paused, looked at the map he had been given, and sauntered towards the restaurants.

When the guy exited the place,Victoria followed him and caught up with him. "Hey,that was a cool show."She grinned. She followed him in the direction of the restaurants and realised where he was going."I guess you're hungry. That's why you're headed this way, yes?"She asked.

Alexis had already done most of the welcoming so she decided that she'll head back to the crew's quarters since it wasn't time to set sail yet. She'd probably visit Victoria later and see how she was getting along with her speech. As she was about to reach her cabin,a guy who looked anxious caught her attention. She wondered which part of the ship he worked on and why he was so anxious. She heard him cry , "No!No,No!"She then walked towards him and said,"Hi,What happened?"

"Yeah," Theodore replied, " I am famished, breathing fire like that usually doesn't make me hungry, but I guess being on a ship again does. I'm headed to the Mediterranean place that is shown on the map, its good food there? yes?" he asked, mimicking her ever so slightly."
"Who are you?" He asked, glancing out of the corner of his eye, " you get to go on this grandiose cruise as a gift?"

His stomach rumbled again, and he sped up, but not leaving a comfortable walking speed, he had about 200 yards before he reached the doors of the dining areas. He shifted the pack to a more comfortable position as he walked, nearing closer to the Mediterranean Food that he had loved since his first cruise.
