The Psychia Academy (IC) ( )

Postby Abocreature on Sun Jun 22, 2008 12:40 am

((Check out the OoCfirst.))

Net slowly opened his eyes to the sun's rays shining down on him. He groggily sat up and stretched, yawning loudly. He crawled out of bed and dredged over to his wardrobe. He put on his normal clothes and discarded his sleep wear into the hamper. He walked down the stairs and into the kitchen, where he grabbed a banana and began eating.
The following is a conversation with myself
*Stopped at my locker and looked to my right, seeing the cutest girl that I have always wanted to ask out*
Oooh! Ask her out! Ask her out!
Nonsense, use some of that martial arts you know and knock her out to do... well... you know. *evil snicker*
*Gasp* How dare you consider such a thing, you evil person!
Give him a break, he's desperate, you know?
Being desperate is no reason to do that!
Lighten up, goody. It will be fun, trust me!
Just ask her out! It will all work out in the end!
Whatever, it doesn't really matter to me.
"All of you just shut up!" *Girl stares at him a moment before leaving as everyone laughed.*
Great, now look what you did!
It still isn't too late to knock her out *wink wink*
Just shut up!

Mysti was hopping from one floorboard to another, trying not to tread on the cracks. She had picked up her rucksack already, and was hopping down the stairs playing the same little game. As she reached the bottom, she tapped her left foot twice on the floor, then jumped onto the carpet. "And that is that," she remarked aloud to herself. She walked along the hallway towards the kitchen, and pushed the door open. She walked over to a cupboard and took out a box of cereal, then started eating, taking no notice of anyone who may have been in the room.

Jace climbed down the stairs, dressed in only a pair of cotton, blue checkered, pajama pants. He had big bags under his eyes, and was obviously exhausted. He had come to the school a week ago, but he was still, or already, completely out of energy, and weighed down by these new abilities of his, that he still didn't understand. Padding into the kitchen he grabbed a bagel and some cream cheese, schmeering it up and taking a bite, before looking around the rest of the room.

Net noticed the other two people in the room. He turned to the girl and said "Morning, Mysti." He turned to the guy and asked "Morning, you're new, aren't you?"

Mysti heard someone come into the kitchen, so stopped reading the cereal box. She turned around to see a guy and Net standing there. "Hey Net!" She beamed at him, then turned to the other guy. "Yeah, you're totally new, I've never seen you before, and I've seen most people around here." Mysti giggled.

Aimee had already been awake for about half an hour when the others started to file into the kitchen. She was usually one of the first ones downstairs in the mornings. No matter how late she had stayed up the night before, she couldn't help but just wake up early in the morning. She was currently dressed in a simple white tank top and some black jeans with sandals. Her hair was curled, falling a few inches past her shoulders.

She watched quietly as the others entered the room one by room. Aimee was sitting at the table by herself, finishing up a small bowl of cereal. Even though she had been at the school for six years, she had never made any real friends. Scared that her powers would hurt others like she had hurt her parents, she tried not to get close to anyone. She was somewhat of a pariah at the school. Today was no different as she remained silent, her eyes slowly turning away from the others in the kitchen and focusing back on her breakfast.
It's not always that easy to distinguish the good guys from the bad guys. Sinners can surprise you
and the same is true for saints. Why do we try to define people as simply good or simply evil? Because
no one wants to admit that compassion and cruelty can live side by side in one heart.
And that anyone is capable of anything.

Mysti looked around again. She'd often lose focus on things as she was easily distracted; a weakness of hers. She saw another girl sitting at the table. She smiled at her, hoping for a response. Mysti loved being friendly with people. She knew most people by name in school, especially in the upper half of the school, despite her age.

Net shrugged and thought 'Must be tired.' He noticed the girl sitting at the table alone. He had seen her around before, but never really spoke to her. He sat down on the opposite end of the table and nonchalantly said to her "Hello."

"Uh, yeah hi." Jace blushed, scratching the back of his head, his face turned down. "I'm Jace. Nice to meet you guys." As he scratched his head the black Pyschia Rune on his right palm was clearly visible, Jace was unnacustomed to hiding them, and made no effort to do so.

"Cool!" Mysti snapped back to the new guy. "I'm Mystasi, but no-one calls me that. Everyone calls me Mysti." Mysti saw the rune on Jace's hand. "Woah, cool rune. What Psychia is it? Do you know?" she asked, intrigued by it's odd appearance. "Net, do you know what this rune is? Net?" She looked about, and saw him sitting at the table with the girl she had smiled at. "C'mon!" she said to Jace. "Let's go say Hi!" Half guiding, half dragging, she took Jace to the table. "Hey!" Mysti said, smiling cheerily.

Hyper as ever. Net thought. He got up and examined the Rune. He gasped and said "That's... that's a black Psychia. Wow, I've never met one before." he got a bit more excited.

Mysti sat there, confused. "I'm sorry, but wahh? What's black Psychia? Is that even real? I've never heard of anything called black Psychia, what does it do?" Mysti dug her hand into her cereal box again, and continued eating. Mysti would often eat a lot, and ability to never put on weight was envied by many of her friends, though, perhaps not these guys, so much.

As she had focused her attention on the bowl of cereal resting on the table before her, Aimee hadn't noticed the girl smile at her. Even if she had, she would have turned her head away, embarassed to have been caught staring at others. When she was approached by Net, it took her a moment before she realized he was talking to her. She blinked up at him as he greeted her, a surprised expression on her face. It was obvious she hadn't expected that anyone would come over to her.

"Um, hello," she replied softly, her eyes glancing up to briefly meet his.

Her mouth opened like she might say something else but her attention was stolen by Mysti and Jace as they walked up to the table. This was definately not a normal morning. The surprised look lingered on her face as she gave a small nod of her head toward Mysti. As Net revealed Jace to be a Black Psychia, her atteniton immediately shifted toward him. She had thought she was the only one at the school.

"Mysti, of all people I'm surprised that you haven't read the legend of the Black Psychia. Which isn't exactly a legend anymore." he added. He turned his head back to the girl sitting alone and smiled reassuringly at her, although not completely sure she was paying attention.

Mysti saw Aimee look at Jace. "Hang on- you know about this stuff too?!?" Mysti banged the cereal box down. "Am I the only one who doesn't know about this stuff?" she said, laughing slightly. "It's a legend? You can read about it? Where?!?" She grinned, and picked up the cereal again.

Jace was confused to say the least, and quite overwhelmed by the small girl, as he tried to answer her onslaught of questions. He had only one answer for all the questions though, "I- I don't know." He stuttered, blushing again. "Until about a week ago I didn't even know what Pyschia were."

Net roughly placed a hand on Jace's shoulder and cheerfully said "Don't worry, you'll get used to 'er. Oh, and you can read about it pretty much anywhere." He laughed at that.

"So, do you guys know what I can do?" Jace asked. He himself wasn't entirely sure what he could do. After all he had only used it once, instinctively.

"I don't!" Mysti said, loudly. "But I'm going to rectify that. Just, not now. I can't take food into the library." Mysti walked to the fridge in search of orange jucie. "Where's the orange juice?!?" she yelled in annoyance. "Who hides orange juice? Pfft."

Aimee glanced briefly at Mysti and gave a small nod of her head. Knew about it? She probably knew more about it then a good majority of the other students here. The expression on her face only revealed that she knew of Black Psychia and nothing else. Her eyes made their way back over to Jace, a curious expression on her face before she spoke up again.

"It... depends really. Black Psychia are more... focused then other Psychia," she told him, speaking somewhat slowly and obviously carefully choosing what words she said and how much knowledge she revealed.
