1.) How old are you?
14

2.) How old were you when you first started role playing?
Around 11 or 12.

3.) What website did you first start role playing at and what other sites have your role played at since then?
I started at Runescape. The Forums of course, not in-game. And this is the only other site I've role played on.

4.) What used to be your favorite types of role plays when you first started out?
Medieval Fantasy, Modern Fantasy

5.) What are your favorite types of role plays now?
Medieval Fantasy, Modern Fantasy :P

6.) How would you best describe your role playing style to someone who wanted to know?
Well. Sometimes I can do very long a descriptive posts if I feel like it, put my mind to it and whatever I'm replying to brings it out of me. I have medium length posts and though my grammar isn't necessarily like a Yale or Harvard student, it's sufficient enough so that everyone can understand. I try my hardest not to do one liners, but I understand, as others do, that sometimes it's hard to put more than one line.

7.) What are your strong suits in role playing/what are you best at?
My strong suits? Well. First, I suppose that's starting off a role play of my own or first joining one. For some reason, I seem to be better there than any part of the role play. Other than that, there's nothing else that I feel proud of.

8.) What are you worst at/need to improve when it comes to role playing?
Fighting! Some people are so descriptive when it comes to fighting and me, I'm so plain! D:

9.) Do you have any (big or small) role playing accomplishments? (ie. finished a role play, was voted legendary somewhere, etc.)
Well. I started quite a few of my own role plays on Runescape, but the one that really made it was Love is Blood Red. There were *tons* of people that joined and apparently there were a lot of people that knew Love is Blood Red because I would see them recognize me as the owner of Love is Blood Red. I was also named Ambassador of Wolf and Vampire threads (topics) :P And even though I was branded that title by one of my friends, quite a few other people agreed. ^_^

10.) What are your biggest pet peeves when it comes to other role players?
Tons and tons of one liners. Poor grammar. Not following the rules. You know. S00per n00bish stuff.

11.) Do prefer role plays that progress slowly or ones that move along at a steady, fast pace?
Steady. It gives time for everything and everyone to develop, but it doesn't move so fast you don't know what's going on, and it doesn't move so slow that a snail could beat it to the finish line.

12.) What type of role plays would you never do?
Futuristic, Anime/Manga related type stuff. Fantasy, sure! Fantasy school/inns, whatever. I'll do those. But not Futuristic (space pirates) or Anime/Manga related (Naruto, Inyusha (?))

13.) Do you prefer to type out long, detailed replies to your role plays, medium-length replies, or short ones?
Medium-length. Sometimes long replies are needed and sometimes there's nothing you can do but short replies. But most of the time, medium-length replies suffice.

14.) What is one type of role play you want to do someday?
What I do now!

15.) What time of day do you tend to write best?
Well. It doesn't depend on what time of day, (though 3 A.M definitely fries my brain and suppresses my ability to think straight.) it matters on my mood. I have to feel creative and my mind has to be open to every corner of my talent.
Live life to the fullest extent so that when you die you regret NOTHING

Re: The Role Playing Survey ( )

Postby BaronVonFruitypants on Sat Jan 10, 2009 11:35 am

Ooooh, I love survey-things. >w<

1.) How old are you?
Barely legal ooh la la. ;D

2.) How old were you when you first started role playing?
About 13-14. Oh, those long-ago days...

3.) What website did you first start role playing at and what other sites have your role played at since then?
Well, I started at Gaia, and that was my main place for RP for a long time, but after stuff started going downhill in my opinion I moved mostly to MSN and an RP board a bunch of my friends started up called Dreams of Prismata. : >

4.) What used to be your favorite types of role plays when you first started out?
Castle RPs! >w< You know the sort where everyone's royalty at a big ol' castle and there are balls and romances and such, I couldn't get enough of those! Still kind of miss them, ain't seen one inna long time.

5.) What are your favorite types of role plays now?
Really anything with an interesting or unique setting. I really like certain types of sci-fi and Victorian or steampunk stuff will always be a favourite. :3

6.) How would you best describe your role playing style to someone who wanted to know?
I've got a definite sense of humour in my writing, even when I'm doing something serious the occasional joke or silly turn of phrase worms it's way into my words. Shades of my favourite authors' writing styles also have a habit of showing up in my work, which I'd like to think gives it a hint of that subtle, snarky Britishness that I so admire.

7.) What are your strong suits in role playing/what are you best at?
Playing the comic relief or minor villain, often both. >w< I'm also rather good at playing kids.

8.) What are you worst at/need to improve when it comes to role playing?
I'm really terrible at running RPs. D; It sucks because I get all these good ideas for RPs and then can't start threads for 'em. Also, writer's block.

9.) Do you have any (big or small) role playing accomplishments? (ie. finished a role play, was voted legendary somewhere, etc.)
I'd have to say both inventing the city of Londonium for my RP Arcanum and staying loyal to St. Maria Pseu's School for the Gifted for over two years.

10.) What are your biggest pet peeves when it comes to other role players?
A lot of mine have to do with rules in RPs. Things like telling me what text size to use, or setting a paragraph minimum. This last one really ruffles my personal feathers; RPs are meant to be fun, not English assignments. D<

11.) Do prefer role plays that progress slowly or ones that move along at a steady, fast pace?
I'll go with either, really.

12.) What type of role plays would you never do?
Realistic slice of life-y stuff. I already have a life like that, RPing another one just seems a wee bit redundant to me. XD

13.) Do prefer to type out long, detailed replies to your role plays, medium-length replies, or short ones?
Short to medium length. If I'm going long, I might as well write a book or a short story, RPs are more for quick fun to me.

14.) What is one type of role play you want to do someday?
Something in the style of old fairy tales, particularly with children as the protagonists. *w*

15.) What time of day do you tend to write best?
I... Never really thought about that. XD

1.) How old are you?
I decline to answer this question. I am ageless, timeless, beyond the age of anyone you might believe me to be.... Who cares?!

2.) How old were you when you first started role playing?
I was twelve. (Roleplaying definition extended to refer to other types of roleplaying beyond text-based, I was something like eight.)

3.) What website did you first start role playing at and what other sites have your role played at since then?
Websites? Definitely this one. I haven't roleplayed very much on other sites.

4.) What used to be your favorite types of role plays when you first started out?
Realistic and modern roleplays.

5.) What are your favorite types of role plays now?
Realistic and modern roleplay, at a literate/advanced level, preferably involving crime or terrorism, but not the mafia.

6.) How would you best describe your role playing style to someone who wanted to know?
I roleplay on a novel-level, with heavy emphasis on character rather than plot (Although plot is always important) and advanced/literate post length and style. I tend to bring out memories, dreams, and stream of consciousness writing, but almost always in third person shall I post. :) (Boy, that was awkward grammar there!)

7.) What are your strong suits in role playing/what are you best at?
I am best at developing characters and, to some extent, plots, although public scenarios I have created have failed pretty miserably. I do very well in small groups (i.e. less than five roleplayers) and in one on one. I have GM'd before, and written the plot, and controlled it. But I prefer when my roleplaying companion(s) contribute significantly to plot and character development. I write well; I'm a crime writer, so I definitely think a lot about roleplaying from a writer/editor point of view.

8.) What are you worst at/need to improve when it comes to role playing?
Definitely creating group and public scenarios that attract committed roleplayers who will roleplay out the scenario beyond a few days of sparse posts.

9.) Do you have any (big or small) role playing accomplishments? (ie. finished a role play, was voted legendary somewhere, etc.)[/b][/i]
In the Disappearing Children roleplay (September--October 2008), many roleplayers posted great compliments about me and my roleplaying posts.

10.) What are your biggest pet peeves when it comes to other role players?
God-moding, trying to completely hijack the plot/characters (adding to the plot/characters is wonderful; hijacking isn't), BAD GRAMMAR, PUNCTUATION, CAPITALIZATION, CHATSPEAK, very bad spelling, bad writing skills (these can only be spotted by writers/editors, usually), using colored fonts, not putting a space between each paragraph, or a new line break with each new line of dialogue, not breaking up long blocks of text........

People who use Anime pictures, stereotype/archetype or Mary-Sue type characters, people who all try to use the same type of character: i.e. The emo depressed girl rebelling against her parents, the amazing young/old woman/man who has been prophesied, has some secret power, etc. VAMPIRES! AAARRGGGH!!

:EDIT: Oh, and TEENS/CHILDREN! I knew I forgot something when I clicked 'post'. I don't mind teen or children characters if written well, but sadly, (and no offense to anyone), many (okay, most if not all) roleplays I read or observe with teen or children protagonists are not written well. They are Mary-Sueified to an extreme, or otherwise fitting some other commonly-used prototype (if not exactly Mary Sue), and a lot of the time, very unrealistic. I try to be realistic about my characters' capabilities and weaknesses (I'm not perfect either) but some of these characters really aren't at all. If you feel you can write a teen character well and want to roleplay with me, USING A TEEN CHARACTER, I suggest you send me several samples of your roleplaying and/or writing using a teen character FIRST. If you can do it well, you'll do this, and I'll say sure let's roleplay.

11.) Do prefer role plays that progress slowly or ones that move along at a steady, fast pace?
I definitely prefer roleplays where people post every day (but they must be meaningful posts, as in not one-liners, unless in a conversation)! Or even several times a day. Every other day is great, too. Once a week not so much.

12.) What type of role plays would you never do?
Fantasy. Science-fiction (except maybe Star Wars). Harry Potter, Twilight, Lord of the Rings, etc. fanfiction. Anime-based. School/Academy based. (Sorry!) Anything with vampires. I know many of you guys like this stuff; unfortunately, I can't say I do. But hey, at least I'm honest.

13.) Do prefer to type out long, detailed replies to your role plays, medium-length replies, or short ones?
Long and detailed for sure, except during a conversation of some type (chating, interview, interrogation, phone, etc.) But by long and detailed, I don't mean overly-describing how someone looks, speaks, or fights. I mean a meaningful post that evaluates my character's responses to yours, and the events going on around us (our characters, that is).

14.) What is one type of role play you want to do someday?
Good question. Something involving terrorism, I suppose, specifically Al Qaeda, and/or the FBI. And said roleplay MUST survive beyond a few pages/posts. And hopefully, come to some sort of conclusion. That would be simply amazing, if I could find a one on one partner, or a VERY small group (less than four/five) to do some roleplay like. If you're interested, PM me! :D

15.) What time of day do you tend to write best?
Pretty much anytime except right around lunch. The morning, the afternoon, the evening, I write just dandy. Lunch--I can't concentrate at all.

Anything else?
I added this one, in case you couldn't tell. :) My computer, those of you who roleplay with me or were promised one, died a month ago and was resurrected two days ago. I'm back! And in real life, basically drowned in a slew of insane work. Not cool, but true. Do you realize how much work being a writer is? Especially a crime writer. Soooo much research involved. :/ 'Tis not glamorous, so to say.

I hope to get back into roleplaying. My requirements are basically outlined in these questions. If you won't get on my pet-peeves list, and want to do a roleplay in my field (wayyy up there), PM me, and maybe we can get together or something.

Love,
Ylanne Sorrows
Family Pictures | When the Lion Wakes | At the Edge | Murder and Commodity

May 2012: I'm currently researching roleplaying and need any roleplayers to take an anonymous survey. It takes an average of 25 minutes to complete. This is part one, and the second survey will be released soon.

1.) How old are you?
20

2.) How old were you when you first started role playing?
I want to say 13? Somewhere around there, but I didn't even know it was called roleplaying back then and really didn't take it too seriously. So 17 is really a more appropriate answer to this.

3.) What website did you first start role playing at and what other sites have your role played at since then?
No specific sites - IRC networks. Chat roleplayer, born and raised. Everywhere from MediaDriven to SorceryNet to DarkNet to WebChat and so many more, I'd be here for days if I named them all. As far as forums go, I've been moderately involved in some, barely involved in others, and heavily involved in one or two. Gateway being the most prominent. From recent memory, I also had a stint at Ayenee and spent some time at GiveUpAlready.

4.) What used to be your favorite types of role plays when you first started out?
Anything as long as it involved an intricate and well thought out fight at some point in time.

5.) What are your favorite types of role plays now?
Anything as long as it doesn't involve intricate and well thought out fights. And nowadays I tend to only opt for roleplays that have some kind of strong underlying meaning, message, or conflict beneath them. I'll pass on the cliches and even the grandscale epics now if they lack honest substance.

6.) How would you best describe your role playing style to someone who wanted to know?
When I roleplay, I typically have one goal and only one goal in mind - to entertain. I approach it not as if I'm in the role of my character and playing pretend as many roleplayers tend to do, but rather that I'm taking part in co-writing a novel that somebody else is going to read at some point in time. And dammit, I want it to be enjoyable. And you have no idea how tempted I was to respond with "The best they will ever witness." to this question.

7.) What are your strong suits in role playing/what are you best at?
Characterization. Developing depth and interest in the character that persists throughout a storyline. I like also using traditional literary elements throughout my roleplays that only those who are seriously reading them will catch and I find myself to be also quite adept at doing this. Some have also told me that I'm moderately to excellently skilled at writing when I'm really putting my heart and soul into it, but I typically would plead otherwise.

8.) What are you worst at/need to improve when it comes to role playing?
I become uninterested quickly. Not sure if that's a flaw of mine or the fact that I might be roleplaying at times with people who haven't the slightest worry about entertaining those they're playing with, but it's astoundingly difficult for me to maintain interest in a roleplay most of the time. Maybe I could fix this somehow.

9.) Do you have any (big or small) role playing accomplishments? (ie. finished a role play, was voted legendary somewhere, etc.)
Whole cabinet full o' these things, but all in time long past. Among the list would be included: becoming and maintaining a role as administrator on a very successful roleplaying forum (This one); numerous "Best Writer", "Best Writing Style", "Best Roleplayer", "Best Roleplay", "Best Character" awards from tournaments and forums; I've bred/taught/mentored some 120+ roleplayers in numerous ways, a number of whom have gone on to be largely successful in writing and roleplaying themselves; developed a few epic and lasting roleplays that have made their mark on forums and chats across the net - the two most prominent of these being Ghalerion and Sanctimonia; placed in some fighting tournaments back when I did that; and had a lot of fun doing all of the above.

10.) What are your biggest pet peeves when it comes to other role players?
Roleplayers who put no effort into making their posts entertaining for those who are roleplaying with them. Seeing a theme here?

11.) Do prefer role plays that progress slowly or ones that move along at a steady, fast pace?
Depends on the storyline and the medium. Chat roleplays always have to be moving at a quick pace or everybody loses interest immediately. Slow progression is good for monumental moments, however. Both on chat and forum.

12.) What type of role plays would you never do?
I don't think I have an answer for this. I've generally been an open roleplayer in the past - before being hit by the roleplay ennui I've acquired now - and have roleplayed everything from fantasy to sci-fi to anime-based to vampires to sex scenes to Power Rangers to even silly roleplays based on cartoons I've never or rarely watched before. Probably my most memorable example of my willingness to roleplay anything was a glitzy fashion show roleplay I did back in 2006 (that even Eric/Remaeus himself was involved in) with a few other amazing writers who have long since vanished.

13.) Do prefer to type out long, detailed replies to your role plays, medium-length replies, or short ones?
I've gained a bit of a reputation as being long-winded, but I think that's purely taken out of context. Depends on the story, the situation, and the posting medium.

14.) What is one type of role play you want to do someday?
I've practically done it all and can't for the life of me come up with an answer to this.

15.) What time of day do you tend to write best?
Any time as long as the story is high-quality stuff.

Re: The Role Playing Survey ( )

Postby Yasashii on Wed Jan 14, 2009 3:05 am

1.) How old are you?
18

2.) How old were you when you first started role playing?
9-10ish?

3.) What website did you first start role playing at and what other sites have your role played at since then?
Not sure of the name exactly but somewhere on MSN groups I believe. The site is the only other I've dared to try :3

4.) What used to be your favorite types of role plays when you first started out?
Only whatever anime I was into at the time. My first major interests were Beyblade & Yugioh

5.) What are your favorite types of role plays now?
I'm game for almost anything but I prefer rps based from animes, books or movies I know.

6.) How would you best describe your role playing style to someone who wanted to know?
Not exactly sure. I like to mold my style at least slightly to compliment those who I roleplay with but given what I normally use, I roleplay like an author writes a good anime fanfic. I love to use detail for motion and color.

7.) What are your strong suits in role playing/what are you best at?
Strong-suits tend to be anime/book characters I like or original characters I have a lot of time to work on. Setting-wise, I work better with something I know or can learn about easily. Another thing I'm decent with is staying in-character when I play as a character from an anime. It is a pet-peeve of mine to see characters acting ooc so I strive not to be.

8.) What are you worst at/need to improve when it comes to role playing?
I believe I need to improve by expanding the types of characters I play. Mainly, I need to be comfortable playing more original characters.

9.) Do you have any (big or small) role playing accomplishments? (ie. finished a role play, was voted legendary somewhere, etc.)
Nothing yet but I will soon be finishing my first 1x1 rp

10.) What are your biggest pet peeves when it comes to other role players?
One-liners & Mary-Sues. Mary-Sue's are workable if that's how the character is supposed to be.

11.) Do prefer role plays that progress slowly or ones that move along at a steady, fast pace?
Depends. If the rp involves a hearty plot and/or background then a little slow is not bad however, I prefer to keep things at a good, steady pace but not too fast.

12.) What type of role plays would you never do?
Yaoi/yuri or anything where angst is the focus.

13.) Do prefer to type out long, detailed replies to your role plays, medium-length replies, or short ones?
Decent lengthed. I, myself, can run off 500-1000 word replies. Anything from 200-1500 words is a decent reply to me it just depends on the rp itself.

14.) What is one type of role play you want to do someday?
I'd like to start and finish a 1x1 based on an anime couple of my choice.

15.) What time of day do you tend to write best?
5pm-1am seem to be my best hours. The earlier in the morning though, the more tired I get so the replies aren't as I prefer.

Forlorn! the very word is like a bell
To toil me back from thee to my sole self!
Adieu! the fancy cannot cheat so well
As she is fam’d to do, deceiving elf.
Adieu! adieu! thy plaintive anthem fades
Past the near meadows, over the still stream,
Up the hill-side; and now ’tis buried deep
In the next valley-glades:
Was it a vision, or a waking dream?
Fled is that music — Do I wake or sleep?

Re: The Role Playing Survey ( )

Postby Imehal on Wed Jan 14, 2009 11:01 pm

1.) How old are you? Cheeky question... but I'll answer it! I'm 20, going to be 21 in May. Yikes.

2.) How old were you when you first started role playing? Realistically, I was 16.

3.) What website did you first start role playing at and what other sites have your role played at since then? I used to roleplay on a forum called Dark Fantasy (now known as Forgotten Memories). That was where I began roleplaying properly, but issues came up with the admin and so I left and tried to create my own small roleplaying forums, but they kept getting hacked or corrupted or some such, so I eventually gave up on roleplaying on the web. So this is me giving it another go.

4.) What used to be your favorite types of role plays when you first started out? I enjoy roleplays that unite the characters or have a driving plot. I preferred medieval, fantasy and magical settings when I started out, certainly over science fiction, though I do remember a secret agent one that I enjoyed immensely, the short time that it lasted.

5.) What are your favorite types of role plays now? I still love fantasy and magical settings, but I've grown to enjoy settings that are modern and even some vampire settings, but it all depends on my roleplay inclination at the time.

6.) How would you best describe your role playing style to someone who wanted to know? My style? Jeez, I suppose descriptive and focused. I enjoy focusing on an interaction or a particular scene rather than having my character focus on about three things at once, as you simply can't do that in real life. I tend to be an emotional player, letting my characters be led by their feelings, rather than logical thought, though I have played logical characters.

7.) What are your strong suits in role playing/what are you best at? My strong suit is probably as a supporting character or motivation for another character. I don't think I do well at all as a leading character, though it's nice not to be forgotten, isn't it? I write nicely, I like to believe and with a certain flair that I can adapt to different characters without having to completely change my writing style. Another thing I would say I am quite good at is creating indepth characters that I know as well as I know myself, but I will apologise now, as this usually means a very long profile.

8.) What are you worst at/need to improve when it comes to role playing? As I said before, I don't do well as a main character, or certainly a leading character, as I'm not that charismatic in real life. I'm more of a Ishida/Hermione/Eowyn person. I like to have my importance, but I don't like to hog the limelight. I also have a real issue with conversations in roleplay, as trying to have a conversation with another character can stem how long a post can be.

9.) Do you have any (big or small) role playing accomplishments? (ie. finished a role play, was voted legendary somewhere, etc.) Sadly no, although I do like my profiles and consider some of them an accomplishment in themselves.

10.) What are your biggest pet peeves when it comes to other role players? Inadequate literacy and using text language in roleplays. Come on, you write properly in English class, how can you not manage to write properly doing something you enjoy? I also don't like people who cannot think outside the box.

11.) Do prefer role plays that progress slowly or ones that move along at a steady, fast pace? Personally, I prefer a slow pace with a few roleplayers because they can develop characters and plots much more than one that goes at a faster pace, though I have played faster ones and enjoyed them.

12.) What type of role plays would you never do? I would never say never to any roleplay.

13.) Do prefer to type out long, detailed replies to your role plays, medium-length replies, or short ones? It depends. If the response requires a lot of detail, my response will be long and detailed. Otherwise I try to keep my responses to a couple of paragraphs at most, one decent paragraphs at shortest, but I try to avoid waffle.

14.) What is one type of role play you want to do someday? Hmm, tough question. I think I would love to try an Oriental inspired roleplay with a couple of main heroes that have to suffer tragedy and loss for the success of their goal. My favourite character I played was a minor character who was the bodyguard of one of the main characters and the plot was going to lead eventually to her giving her life for his, because he was what mattered, more than them needing each other. I would love to do something like that again.

15.) What time of day do you tend to write best? Honestly, at nighttime. My brain seems to come alive, which is why I like to leave some essays to the last minute because I write my best then.
Gasmask: Alright. Either your CD is corrupted, which'd explain the crashing and odd stuffs.
Imehal: Or?
Gasmask: Your windows really, really, really hates icewind dale.

Re: The Role Playing Survey ( )

Postby Kædai on Thu Jan 15, 2009 5:55 am

Well, much has changed about me in the past year of roleplaying, so I suppose I should post a new profile.

1.) How old are you?
16

2.) How old were you when you first started role playing?
15

3.) What website did you first start role playing at and what other sites have your role played at since then?
I started roleplaying at...well, the site that starts with a "G" and ends with "aia". However, I quickly grew tired of the continuous stream of the same RP OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER, so I came to RPG. Been here ever since, though I have expanded somewhat to Roleplay Imagination.

4.) What used to be your favorite types of role plays when you first started out?
I used to LOVE fantasy, and Sci-Fi. I still do, but I've expanded to other genres.

5.) What are your favorite types of role plays now?
Sci-Fi, Modern/"Realistic" Future, School (Yes, the dreaded genre. But, I like not just Highschool. College is cool too.)

6.) How would you best describe your role playing style to someone who wanted to know?
I write simply, but put detail where it's needed. I also like to repeat for emphasis. Something just doesn't have the same..."Emotional" meaning unless you repeat it.

7.) What are your strong suits in role playing/what are you best at?
Well...Hm...I suppose my strong suits are my well set-up characters, and my ability to play them. And, most of the time, I have good ideas for a floundering RP. Does that count? :D

8.) What are you worst at/need to improve when it comes to role playing?
Ooh...haha...lots of things. For one, I need to work on attention to detail. As of right now, I can describe something in-depth, but it would take me forever to write it all out, and make sure it made sense. Also, I need to work on saying more in my posts.

9.) Do you have any (big or small) role playing accomplishments?
Well, I finished my first roleplay about two months ago, on Roleplay Imagination. It was private though, so it's not like I finsihed this big 140-page RP. I think it was about 20 or 30 pages.

10.) What are your biggest pet peeves when it comes to other role players?
Grammar and Logic. OH MY GOD!!! This just...EEEERRRRRRRGGGGG!!!!!! I cannot stand bad grammar, but it just absolutely makes me INSANE when people don't use common sense when they post! I swear, it drives me NUTS! ...Alright, calming down now...

11.) Do prefer role plays that progress slowly or ones that move along at a steady, fast pace?
Really, I can keep up with pretty much anything, as long as it's not moving inhumanely fast.

12.) What type of role plays would you never do?
Um...Hm...I don't know...OH! The "Vampire/Lycan/Human War and Romance" stuff. There's enough of it already, and just making an RP for romance is...well, a bit idiotic. If your main goal is to fall in love, the story pretty much takes a back-seat.

13.) Do prefer to type out long, detailed replies to your role plays, medium-length replies, or short ones?
I type what I feel is needed to say what I need to say. However, if I'm supposed to do a long post, I can.

14.) What is one type of role play you want to do someday?
Hm...Well...I'd love to do a Splinter Cell or Halo RP. That would be pretty cool, as those are my favorite games in the WORLD.

15.) What time of day do you tend to write best?
Whenever, really, as long as I'm awake and have a steady supply of A&W. :D

Re: The Role Playing Survey ( )

1.) How old are you? 23 years

2.) How old were you when you first started role playing? Can't remember. When I was a kid, my brother and I would do something we called "talk-playing," where we took video game characters and pretended we were them, running through obstacles and such.

3.) What website did you first start role playing at and what other sites have your role played at since then? http://www.battleon.com

4.) What used to be your favorite types of role plays when you first started out? The first RP that managed to catch my eye was something involving a female character seeking shelter, and being the sexed up 18 year old I was at the time, I soon got knee-deep.

5.) What are your favorite types of role plays now? I am very discerning about the RPs I join these days. Normally it needs an interesting name, concept, or otherwise tries to do something that I want to see happen.

6.) How would you best describe your role playing style to someone who wanted to know? I have a very limited list of characters to choose from. I generally don't like making characters to suit the RP: Rather, I look for RPs that my character is suited for.

7.) What are your strong suits in role playing/what are you best at? I consider myself pretty good at combat, and if I don't get something, I generally make an effort to clear it up as soon as possible, preferably over AIM so I can get the lowdown without waiting for a post.

8.) What are you worst at/need to improve when it comes to role playing? My main weakness seems to be composing RPs and gamemastering in general.

9.) Do you have any (big or small) role playing accomplishments? (ie. finished a role play, was voted legendary somewhere, etc.) I am an active Advanced RPer on the aforementioned battleon.com forums.

10.) What are your biggest pet peeves when it comes to other role players? People that are better than me and won't take the time to explain what they do so I can improve.

11.) Do prefer role plays that progress slowly or ones that move along at a steady, fast pace? Definitely faster ones. Slower RPs tend to lose my interest as I wait for days on end for something to react to.

12.) What type of role plays would you never do? Among my few taboos are teaching newbies the ropes. It's for the same reason I never hired myself out as a tutor in real life. I also shy away from RPs with post lengths minimums.

13.) Do prefer to type out long, detailed replies to your role plays, medium-length replies, or short ones? I used to be short and sweet, but I later evolved to medium-length posts.

14.) What is one type of role play you want to do someday? Something where things get hot and heavy between two characters, one of which is mine. The rule where I go right now states that implication is as far as you can go when it comes to sex, so that's a little frustrating. Maybe it's just me trying to get an excuse to jerk off to an RP, but I won't know until it happens, I guess.

15.) What time of day do you tend to write best? Definitely in the evening. For all practical purposes, I tend to not exist before noon unless I have an appointment before then on that day, but I never feel creative on those days.
How long will he keep on fighting? How long will his pain last? Maybe only the X-Buster on his hand knows for sure...
