The Scary Horror Story of Teenage Graduation

A little lesson in life. These people:

The Heroes
The Villains.
The Victims
The Tag-Alongs

They exist everywhere you go. Only in the big, real world they’re a lot more diverse and complicated.
Charlie Denver has been through hell and back for the sake of Liam Donner. But now she refuses to do it a second longer. Though the separation hurt her more than anything else, she gave him back his engagement ring and stepped out of his life for good. No matter how many times he came knocking on her door, she managed to turn him away.

And now she’s taking an even bigger step away from him.

Charlie has been accepted into Rosedale University for the Performing Arts. She can pursue her dreams of dancing, singing and writing. This finally separates her from Liam. Because Rosedale is in England.

While there, Charlie meets Aaron Snow. He’s like a match made in heaven for her. They have the same moral values, same aspirations, same passions. And Aaron is forever accepting of the fact that Charlie still has trouble getting over Liam.
So when Liam shows up in England, practically on Charlie’s door-step, and she turns him away with Aaron at her shoulder, Liam becomes determined to find a way to show her that he’s not like he was before. Staying with relatives, Liam goes in search of a job and desperately tries to set things in his own life straight, so that he can prove to Charlie once and for all that she really is his world.

Gee Williams, meanwhile, is Charlie's best friend. She's living with her in the apartment belonging to Charlie's mother whilst she waits for her rock star boyfriend to get back from his tour. It's pretty lonely for her on her own, though, watching Charlie with her perfect boyfriend Aaron, so when Liam turns up, accompanied by his best friend Sam, and Gee finds herself unexpectedly attracted to the latter of the two boys, just how far will she go to help herself through the loneliness she's been feeling?
And just how many times will she fall into Sam's arms before her boyfriend comes back?

This is the big, bad 'real world', and as Charlie, Gee and Liam will soon learn, it only get's harder after high school, and the bitches only get worse...

She was completely disgusted when Charlie fell for Liam, because she hated him with a burning passion because of all the comments he made on her bi-sexuality, but put up with him for Charlie. She got revenge on Liam after Charlie broke off their engagement by beating the shit out of him, and spent a few months on tour with her boyfriend. A pregnancy scare meant she decided to move in with Charlie, just in case, though it came to nothing. Now Gee is waiting out the rest of his tour, but is resentful of Charlie and her "perfect" boyfriend, because she's so lonely herself.

Gerard was born and raised in England, but his family life was never great, much like his cousin's. He was given up as a baby, to a couple who weren't really ready for a child. Always hyper as a child, Gerard was uncontrollable, and it didn't help when his birth mother showed up when he was eleven, demanding him back. After months of confusion, he was taken to Rosedale to live with her, but he had no respect for her or any other adults, and seriously rebelled, getting into drugs at an early age. He moved away, to a different part of Rosedale when he turned eighteen and left school, and has grudgingly agreed to put up with his cousin and his friend when he comes - as long as his cousin doesn't discover his drugs and find out he's a dealer, everything'll be ok.

Villain
Other:
Gerard really doesn't want his cousin there, so he's going to give him a month before demanding rent, or throwing him out.

Skeleton

Name;;
Liam Donner.

Age;;
Eighteen.

Height;;
5'10".

Appearance;;
Image

Short Bio;;
Liam Donner has changed so much over the past year that he's barely recognizable as the boy who used to bully people mercilessly, just for being the slightest bit different. His dyed black hair, (now fading back to its former brown), kept much longer than it ever was before, and the clothes he now wears show exactly just how much he has changed - at least, outwardly. Maybe he isn't as different inside as he thought, because after convincing his devoutly Christian girlfriend Charlie, his former victim, to sleep with him, he then crawled back into bed with his ex-girlfriend, the school bitch who has made Charlie's life hell. Charlie left him, and now he's out to prove to her that she's the only one he wants.

Finding out she has a boyfriend, of course, is not going to be pleasant for him. Liam's method of dealing with difficulty is usually to fall back on alcohol and sleep with somebody, but now he has to prove to Charlie that he's not like that anymore.

Hero,Villain, In betweener?;;
Halfway to being a hero.

Other;;
All Liam now wants is for Charlie to agree to marry him again - but he knows he can't compete with her perfect new boyfriend.

Skeleton

Name;;
Samuel "Sam" Scoufield.

Age;;
Eighteen.

Height;;
5'9".

Appearance;;
Image

Short Bio;;
Sam's never done very much except get drunk, sleep with his best friend's girlfriend, and beat people up. Now that Liam really needs him, however, he's pulled himself together a little bit and is determined to stick by his friend in this attempt to win Charlie back. Flying to England with him is really a demonstration of friendship, because whilst he doesn't understand his friend's obsession with Charlie, he does know that it's important to him.

However, Sam himself is very lonely. He's never had a meaningful relationship, and in a strange country so far from home, he's looking for any small form of comfort.

Hero,Villain, In betweener?;;
In-betweener.

Other;;
Sam surprises himself when he begins to find Charlie's best friend, Gee, attractive.

Skeleton

Name;;
Aaron Snow.

Age;;
Nineteen.

Height;;
5'8".

Appearance;;
Image

Short Bio;;
Aaron grew up in London, and he's had a decent life. A nice house, nice parents, always with a bit of money around, and a little sister he'd do anything for. They have their usual sibling arguments, but the two are actually pretty close, and Aaron would usually listen to any advice she gave him. However, he doesn't understand her hatred of Charlie, his new girlfriend, and won't pay heed to it. He can see how fragile Charlie is, and he wants to protect her from what's happened in the past. Even though he knows she's having trouble getting over her ex-boyfriend, he's patient and understanding and just wants to be there for her.

Hero,Villain, In betweener?;;
Hero.

Other;;
Aaron has never been good with conflict, so he has no idea what to do when Liam and Sam show up on his doorstep, both much more well-built and stronger than he is.

Charlie was comfortable.

It had been three months since she moved to England. Five months since she left Liam. Those first two months had been the hardest. Anything and everything reminded her of him, of the things they did together. Her left hand felt so empty for so long. No purity ring, no engagement ring, no nothing. She'd been a mess. If it wasn't for the few weeks of going on tour with Gee, she may have not recovered so well.

At the present moment she was curled up on the plushy couch in her boyfriend Aaron Snow's living room. They'd been friends since she got here, and about a month ago they'd started to date. He was in the kitchen, making them both a cup of hot chocolate.
'Aaron, do you have any chocolate?' she asked turning to look at him over the couch head. She'd adapted the English accent so quickly you wouldn't even know she was from America. 'I know I'm having hot chocolate already but...you know...I haven't had chocolate since....since yesterday evening! Shock, horror! How have I gone on so long?' she said, looking around in pretend despair. She made a little pout. 'I think I'm going to go into cardiac arrest.'

Aaron had been nothing but good to her. He understood that she had issues from her past and he was completely supportive. People at school called them 'perfect' all the time and sometimes Charlie thought maybe, just maybe, they were.

Ami knocked at Aaron's door once, then let herself in. With a swell of irritation she noticed Charlie sitting comfortably on the couch. Ugh, that stupid little whino! She was so miserable! Really, it was so unfair of her to bring all her problems to Aaron's doorstep!
'Hey, Aaron!' she said, closing the door and walking into the kitchen. She completely disregarded Charlie's existence. 'How are things?'

Charlie scowled as Ami, Aaron's sister, came in and made no attempt to be civil with her. How rude!
'Aaron, love, Gee says she'll be here soon. She's just got to pick up something from the shops. Something being chocolate, of course.'

Ami turned and frowned at Charlie.
'Oh, you're here,' she said, by way of greeting. Then she turned back to Aaron. 'Whatchu up to later?'

Aaron was in the process of stirring the hot chocolate in the cups when Charlie started talking about chocolate. He laughed, and was about to reply, when the front door opened and he heard his sister's voice. As usual, she neglected to greet his girlfriend and he rolled his eyes, knowing she couldn't see.

"Things are fine," he answered, his voice upbeat despite the fact he was annoyed by her blatant ignorance of Charlie. "Things are fine for me and Charlie." This was a pointed reminder for her to be nice to his girlfriend, who he really did love, and yet he doubted she'd take the hint. Carrying Charlie's cup through to her, he kissed her briefly as he bent over the back of the settee, in order to set the hot chocolate on the coffee table, and then glanced back up at Ami.

"I'm probably just going to be hanging around with Charlie. Gee's coming over, I think." He thought he detected a hint of exasperation in his sister's expression, but ignored it. "Do you want a drink of anything?"

***

"You're sure this is the right address?"

"Of course I'm fucking sure. I wouldn't be about to go to it if I wasn't, would I?"

"Alright. Calm down. I'm only checking. Knowing you, that address won't even exist."

Sam was lying on his back on the camp bed in the room that the two boys were sharing, and Liam shot him an annoyed look at his last comment. Couldn't he see just how nervous he was about this whole thing? The last thing he needed was Sam putting unnecessary doubts into his head. It had taken him the entire week they'd been here to find this address, and they'd been putting up with his cousin's poor idea of 'hospitality' the whole while. Gerard wasn't in at the moment, and Liam was planning on getting out before he got back. Part of him was convinced his cousin was going to start asking for rent money soon.

"Who the fuck's Aaron Snow, anyway?" he asked Sam for the hundredth time, disconcerted.

"And how am I supposed to know that? He might be her boyfriend."

"Say that again and I'm going to stab you with this pencil. Who is he, d'you think?"

"I. Don't. Know. What did the guy you found the address out off say about him?"

"Just that he's with Charlie a lot, so I should check there, since he doesn't know Charlie's actual address." Liam shrugged. "He's probably just her friend, right?"

"Probably," Sam replied, but he didn't sound too convinced. "Are you wanting to go now, then?"

"Yeah." Liam stood up, grabbing his jacket. "Let's go."

Ami scowled at the mention of Charlie's equally annoying friend Gee. That rock guys girlfriend.
'Hmph,' she said. 'It's alright, I'll get myself something.'

She went over to the fridge and pulled out one of Aaron's numerous can's of Heineken.
'Aaron, really, you've got so much bear in here! How do you drink it all?'
'Oh, I help,' said Charlie cheerily, trying hard at civilness with the sister-from hell. Ami just rolled her eyes at her and walked past her and to the other couch. Charlie gave a little from but then shrugged. She ran a hand through her hair, which had gone a lovely ginger colour that she was really fond of.
'Don't worry, Ami, we don't drink it all at once,' she said reassuringly. Ami looked at her for a moment.
'I should hope not. It'd give you a terrible beer belly. And, seeing as you're already a little bit of a porker...'

Charlie's mouth fell open. Okay, so she still wasn't skinny like Olivia. But she wasn't fat.
'I'd rather be a bit of a porker and eat all the chocolate I want than be skinny,' she said, trying to laugh at Ami's callous remark.
'See if you think that in a few years time,' Ami muttered. Charlie turned to Aaron with a pained expression that clearly read 'what the hell do I do?'. Even after going out with Aaron for a month, she still hadn't gotten used to Ami. And Ami most certainly hadn't gotten used to her!

Aaron felt indignation flood through him as his sister actually insulted his girlfriend's weight to her face. He glared at her, sipping from his cup and leaning against the back of the settee. "She's just joking, Charlie. Of course you're not overweight. But if you can't be nice, Ami, you're going to have to leave. I mean it. Besides, Gee will be here in a minute." His tone made it clear that she was not welcome to join them.

At that moment, there was a knock at the door, and he felt relief flood through him, expecting it to be Gee. Then he would have an excuse to tell Ami to leave without appearing pointlessly mean. Crossing to the door, he pulled it open with a smile - which soon faded when he saw who was on his step.

The first boy was tall, with sweeping black hair. It looked like the colour was fading out. The expression on his face was worried, and perhaps even slightly hostile. His companion was not much better - just very slightly taller than Aaron himself, he was blonde and clearly well-built, and looked bored. It was hard not to feel intimidated in front of the two of them.

"Can I help you?"

"Is Charlotte Denver here?" The dark-haired boy had spoken with a hint of desperation, and Aaron blinked.

"Charlie? There's someone at the door for you."

At that moment, he caught sight of Gee, coming down the road towards them. It would still take her a little while to get here, but he hoped she hurried up. Then he could get rid of their three unwanted guests and just spend some time with his girlfriend and their friend.

Gee didn't really want to be walking down the street to Charlie's boyfriend's house. It wasn't that she didn't like Aaron - he was a hell of a lot better for Charlie than Liam had been - but she hated constantly spending time with them and being reminded her own boyfriend was in his home country of Canada on a tour with twenty-five dates left. It meant she was dragging her feet as she made her way down the street, but something made her pick up the pace a little bit - two people standing outside Aaron's door, who she vaguely recognised. Getting a tighter grip on the shopping bags she held, she walked faster, but stopped a few feet away from Aaron's door.

"Liam? Liam Donner? What the fuck are you doing here?"

One of the last times Gee had seen Liam was in their high school in America, when she'd beaten the shit out of him for cheating on Charlie again. Her mood didn't improve when she saw who he was with. Liam and Sam had made life hell for her and Charlie when they were in school, and she found it hard to believe they'd show up in England, on the doorstep on Charlie's boyfriend's house just to talk about old times.

"Move out of my way, and get back to the hole you two crawled out of. I didn't come here to stare at your ugly faces, I came here to spend time with my best friend and her boyfriend. Move," She demanded, glaring at them both.

"Is that that psychopath?" Sam asked, looking at her closely. Gee had grown a little and matured in the five months they had seen her, and she just looked different in some way, but he couldn't have said why. "It is, isn't it? That's the one who beat the shit out of you."

"Yeah. Yeah, it is." Liam was eyeing her warily, but he was still trying to see past the blonde boy in the doorway and find his girlfriend. Despite the fact that she had told him in no uncertain terms five months ago that she never wanted to see him again, he had never stopped thinking of Charlie as 'his'.

Aaron was looking from Gee to the two American boys with realization dawning across his face. "You're Liam Donner? Liam Donner?"

"It's not like he's famous," Sam said, sounding mildly exasperated. He was keeping a wary watch on Gee, who was still glaring. He stepped back to let her past, hoping that this might defuse some of her anger. Liam had completely blanked Aaron and was now attempting to step through the doorway without actually having to shove the other boy out of the way; this turned out to be impossible, so he hung back impatiently, once more blocking Gee off from getting into the house, and waiting for Charlie.

"No, he's not famous, but he's infamous. Infamous for leaving Charlie a mess because he couldn't keep his trousers zipped up," She spat, before turning to Sam.

"Excuse me, psychopath? He deserved everything I gave him, and more; he made it worse for himself trying to fight back anyway," She said, unable to stop herself from smirking at the memory. Once upon a time, Liam would have been more than a match for her, but Gee had always had hidden strength - by the time she'd been fed up with Liam breaking her best friend's heart over and over, she would have been able to take him on three times over. And win every time.
"Then again, we don't blame you for being weak, Liam. Weak at fighting, weak at drinking, and weak at keeping promises," She added, elbowing him in the ribs so she could get past Aaron and dump her bags on the floor. Once she did, though, she went straight back out and stood beside him, arms folded.

"Right. Go away. Charlie doesn't want to see you, Liam - she told you that five months ago, and she's happy now. Get the hell away from Aaron's front door, before you force me to beat the shit out of you again,"

Aaron was beginning to wish that he had asked this guy for his name before ever shouting Charlie. A lot of trouble could have been saved if he had just told him Charlie wasn't around, because of course he knew who Liam Donner was. He'd heard enough about him from Charlie. The last thing he wanted was this guy getting anywhere near her.

"You're going to have to leave," he said, trying to shut the door. Liam stuck his foot in it and Sam moved further forwards, correctly anticipating Gee's reaction to this and attempting to prevent it by wrapping strong arms around her from behind. That was all Liam needed to shoulder barge his way past Aaron, bursting into the living room. He registered another girl, standing and looking at him surprise, before his eyes fell on the girl on the settee.

Charlie's hair was going back to its orginal brown, and had turned a sort of auburn shade. She looked older; more mature. Liam felt a twist of loss and longing in his chest and suddenly realized how incredibly childish this was, practically breaking into her friend's house - he was still refusing to think of Aaron as her boyfriend - and opened his mouth to say some apology, when Gee's words suddenly hit home.

I didn't come here to stare at your ugly faces, I came here to spend time with my best friend and her boyfriend.

The colour drained from his face, and the desperate apology and plea for her to come back to him that he had been planning for weeks got lost on the way to his mouth. Instead, what came out was an utterly disbelieving; "That's your boyfriend? Seriously?" Behind him, he could hear Sam struggling with Gee, but that had ceased to be important. He couldn't believe that those were the first words he had said to her in around five months, and opened his mouth to try and recitify the mistake.

Age: Seventeen
Height: 5'6
Appearance:

Short Bio: Ruby Angel Moore never had it easy growing up. Her father was always abusive and violent, and she always felt inadequate when it came to her school work. When her father remarried, Charlie Denver became her stepsister, and the two were eachother's own personal support systems through the rough patches. When Charlie was bullied, and through all the tough times with Liam, Ruby has been right there as a shoulder for her to cry on. After Charlie moved away, Ruby felt like she'd lost her best friend, and just when she thought things couldn't get worse, her boyfriend left her for another guy. Heartbroken, and more alone than ever, Ruby moved out to England to be with her sister again.
Hero,Villain, In betweener?: Hero
Other: Ruby would do anything to help her sister, and she's deeply protective of her because they've gone through so much together.

Name: Gloria Lily Ashwood
Age: 19
Height: 5'4
Appearance:

Short Bio: Born and raised in the tiny, sleepy village of Boswyth, Cornwall, Gloria has never been a fan of the big city. She was forced to move to Rosedale at the age of 13, when her parents divorced and her father got custody of her, leaving behind her mother and younger brother and sister, as well as the simple, peaceful life she'd grown to love. In Rosedale, she was purposefully antisocial, taking an instant dislike to all of her classmates and distancing herself from them. For the first few years she was friendless, until she met Gerard Donner. He was 5 years her senior, and considered "bad news", but he was the first real friend she'd had since moving here, and they soon ended up dating. Then, her father met someone new, and Gloria was out on her ear to make room for his new family, ending up living with Gerard. Gloria knows about the drugs, but she chooses not to acknowledge them, because it would mean admitting her father was right and she knows it would lead to a fight that would end with her becoming homeless.
Hero,Villain, In betweener?: Caught up somewhere in the middle
Other: Gloria has known Charlie since she was 8, when Charlie used to visit her village in the summer on holidays

The beginnings of a rain shower were just starting to fall from the sky as Ruby stepped out of her cab. Or taxi, rather. Stupid England with it's weird names for things, and strange spellings. It was going to take some getting used to. Ever since boarding the plane, she'd been having doubts. What if this was a mistake? Running away couldn't really be the greatest plan, could it? And then there was the outside chance that Charlie wouldn't want to see her. After all, she had Gee, and that new boyfriend of hers. What did she want her silly little half sister turning up on the doorstep for? Oh God, she thought, approaching the pandemonium on Aaron's doorstep. maybe I should have called ahead. Just turning up out of the blue is out of order, isn't it? Shit. She still hadn't registered what was going on up ahead, she was too lost in her own panic. Maybe Charlie was more a fan of etiquette now she lived in England, and announcing she was moving in would probably seem impolite if that was the case.

It wasn't until she locked eyes on Liam Donner that she realised something was going on.
" the fuck?... Donner?!" Ruby gaped at him and Sam in shock for a moment, wondering what the hell they were doing here. She looked over at Gee, who seemed just as outraged, and then finally found Charlie's anguished expression. Apparently, her arrival had been upstaged just a little bit. That made Ruby smile. Somehow, even when she had travelled halfway around the world without any warning and turned up on her sister's boyfriend's doorstep, she was still just background noise. Not that she minded. Drama was one thing Ruby wanted to avoid more than anything right now.

"er... any chance I could come in?" she asked awkwardly, pulling up her hood to keep out the rain, which was quickly starting to turn nasty. It lashed down now, soaking through the flimsy fabric of her high-tops in an instant. Perfectly fitting for whatever heartache that prick Donner must be going through right now. Apparently, he hadn't known anything about Aaron. Good. He deserved everything he got after what he'd put Charlie through. Frowning, Ruby resumed her original position, launching into a full-on verbal attack at Liam.

"What are you even doing here? Do you really think she'd want to see you, of all people? Get out of here Donner. You fucked up. It's time to accept it."

Sam had his arms wrapped around her, and it was lucky he had, otherwise Gee would have been re-breaking Liam's nose. As it was, she was trying her best to break out of Sam's grip, which proving difficult, seeing as Sam was considerably stronger than her.

By the time she'd finally broken his hold, Charlie's step-sister had appeared as well, which just made her happier - at least now there was a lot more people who hated Liam and Sam there, meaning they'd have to leave sooner or later, or risk being beaten up. Ruby was yelling at Liam, so Gee focused her attentions on Sam, fists balled at her side as she stood facing him, with a face like thunder.

"Fucking touch me, and I'll kill you," She spat. "Just get Liam, and get him the fuck out of here. Tell him it's time to move on, and go back to America - God knows you're probably missing sleeping with Olivia, and him too, no doubt,"

Ami watched the pandamonium that had broken loose in her brother's living room with a shocked expression. What the hell was with these American people? Why did they just keep showing up? They were like bloody roaches! One showed up, and then brought a whole bunch with them! PESTS!

Charlie watched the commotion, still in shock. Liam had turned up out of no where, with Sam at his heels. Gee had appeared and started screaming. And now, out of absolutely no where, her sister Ruby had appeared.
'Would everyone just SHUT UP!' she cried. There was a sudden silence in the room. Charlie felt her face go red as everyone turned to her.

'Um...Liam, I think I should talk to you privately for a moment. Aaron, baby, his is Liam and Sam and that's Ruby! My sister!' She ran to her and hugged her tightly. 'Ruby, love, oh I'm so happy you're here! I missed you so much! Just sit here with Gee and Aaron and stuff and, uh, me and Liam are gonna have a talk and then...and then I'm going to take you for a coffee, okay? Listen to me, I sound so different, huh?' Charlie gave a nervous laugh.

She then turned on Liam. The coldest, iciest glare was reserved for him. Never in her life had she looked at someone with so much seething hurt and pain.
'Get outside,' she said in a low, dangerous voice. 'I want to speak with you in private.'

Sam felt a flicker of embarrassment cross his face as Gee mentioned Olivia, but he quickly disguised it and shrugged. "I'm not the one who's refusing to leave until Charlie forgives him," he said. "I'm just here for Liam. And relax, I wouldn't touch you with a fucking ten foot pole," he added coldly, shoving past her to lean against the wall as Charlie turned to Liam and told him to get outside. Every single person in the room was regarding him in a way that was hardly welcoming, so he looked at the ground, slightly disconcerted.

He hoped Liam hurried up.

Aaron, meanwhile, was highly confused and didn't know which way to turn. His house had suddenly become very loud, and he had no idea what was going on, so he chose the thing that was easiest to deal with and approached Ruby with a smile.

"So, you're Charlie's sister, right? I'm Aaron, her boyfriend. You only just flew over today?"

Liam allowed himself to be pushed out onto the pavement, and waited until Charlie had shut the door before turning to her. Before she had a chance to say a word, he had grabbed hold of her hands. "Listen to me, Charlie, baby, please." His voice was desperate. "I'm so sorry, okay? I'm so sorry. But I've come to England for you, and it's taken me ages to find you, and I can't let you go again. Please, please give me one more chance. I know I messed up so badly; I know that. But you have to give me one more chance, baby. I'm better for you than that..." He could think of no word to describe Aaron, so chose an expletive instead, in the hope that that would sum up the way he felt about him. "I'm better for you than that bastard in there, anyway. Come on, Charlie. Please?"

Charlie watched Liam, cold and uncaring, even though her heart fluttered when he took her hands. She watched him as he begged her, watched as he pleaded.

Yes, he had come to England for her. He had come to England, burst into her boyfriend's house and promptly insulted him. And still she wanted to hold him and kiss him and pretend like nothing bad had happened between them. She wanted to walk away from here with her hand is his and a smile on her face.

But she knew she couldn't.

She could never, ever forget what he'd done. He'd crawled back to Olivia after everything they'd been through, after getting her to sleep with him in the first place. She took her hands out of his slowly, caringly, as if he were a delicate child.
'No, Liam,' she said softly. 'Aaron is not a bastard. He's a darling, he's a sweetheart and he would never do what you did.' Her voice wasn't angry. It was dead. Cold. It was hard to turn him away. 'Goodbye, Liam.'

Liam looked back at her in disbelief. Whenever he had begged like this before, Charlie had relented in moments, but now her voice was cold and dead and devoid of any emotion. He didn't know what to do. For a moment, he stood there almost unsteadily, and then he stepped closer to her.

"You still want me, Charlie. You still want me, and you know it. I'm going to prove to you that I've changed."

He hesitated for a moment, and then tried to kiss her, but she must have turned her head, (either that, or he had missed completely), because he ended up kissing her cheek instead of her lips.

"I love you, Charlie," he said. "And I'm not going home until you figure out that you still love me too."

Charlie watched as Liam looked at her, a little shocked. She'd never denied him before. Not when he'd begged like that. When he bent to kiss her she turned her face automatically, even though she longer for him to kiss her.

'It was...interesting to see you again, Liam,' she said softly, her voice still with its English lilt. 'But I'm not coming back to you. I still love you.' She put an affectionate hand on his cheek. 'I probably always will. You were my first love, my first lover. But you have to let go of that. I have to let go of that. I'm a different girl now, Liam. And I won't risk loosing all this progress to go back to pain and discomfort. To never being sure. I couldn't keep you, no matter what I did. So if you went back to her after all I gave you, who's to say you won't do it again? Besides, I've gotten used to abstinence again. I'm not all that ready to give it up. It'd make it even harder for you.'

She forced a pained smile.

'You'll find someone, Liam. Go back and marry Olivia if you want to. Find a pretty English rose. But give up on us Liam. It;s the best thin for both of us. Really.'

He was on the step bellow her, but even then she had to stretch up to kiss his forehead.
'I'll always love you somewhere in my heart. Just not in the most important place anymore.'

Tears filled her eyes as she turned and went back into the house, not pausing to look at him like in all the movies. She couldn't bear it.

She walked into the living room, her head high.
'Sam. You can leave now. Ruby, we have so much to catch up on! Just...just give me a moment...'

She broke away from them and went to Aaron's room, threw herself on his bed and cried and cried into his pillow, feeling as if her heart had broken all over again

Gee watched as Charlie came into the living room for roughly two seconds, spoke to Ruby, and then disappeared upstairs, and she was sure that she wasn't the only one in the room who saw the way her eyes were shining, as if she was about to start crying. No doubt she was crying, and it was all Donner's fault, the bastard. Gee had never liked him - Liam showing up reminded her why.

"Right. Aaron, maybe you should go up and calm her down? She'll probably want to see you more than any of us. After Liam showing up, she'll probably want you to remind her why she left him in the first place. Tell her I'm taking my stuff and heading back to our apartment, alright? I need to have something waiting for her when she gets home," The last bit was said mostly to herself, but she knew exactly what she needed to have waiting for Charlie - chocolate and vodka never failed to cheer anyone up, and she saw no reason why it wouldn't work for Charlie.

Grabbing her bags from where she'd dumped them on the floor, she glared one last time at Sam - fucking bastard - before walking out the door. Either Liam would leave quietly, or there would be another shitstorm, and if it was the second one, Gee didn't want to get caught in it. She'd seen it happen before, and it had resulted in Charlie having her heart broken, and most likely her soul. She'd just got it fixed. Gee wasn't in any hurry to see it shattered into a million pieces again.

Aaron nodded at Gee's suggestion that he go and comfort Charlie, but he wasn't going to leave Sam standing in his house whilst he wasn't in the room, so he looked at him pointedly. Taking the hint, Sam shrugged and stepped through the door, and Aaron turned to Ruby.

"Do you want to come and help me with Charlie? She's probably really upset, and I'm sure she'd appreciate seeing you. Come on up with me." He nodded towards the stairs, crossing over to the front door and locking it as he did so. "She'd like to see you."

Out on the pavement, Liam heard the key turning in the lock, and looked up at Sam with his face falling. "I think it's really over, Sam," he said. "I don't know where she lives to talk to her on her own, and whilst she's got her perfect boyfriend..."

"I know where she lives." Sam watched a brief flicker of hope cross Liam's expression, and nodded after Gee. "They're living in an apartment together. If we follow her back, we'll know where she lives." He was speaking quietly, and Gee didn't seem to have heard them, so following her was easier than it could have been. She didn't look round, and they hung back a good distance, until at last they saw her enter an apartment. Waiting a good five minutes outside, Liam finally opened the door slowly and stepped inside, and Sam followed him. Both of them were wary of Gee, but Liam was determined not to leave until he'd spoken to Charlie properly, away from her interfering boyfriend. He moved forwards, and saw Gee in the room to his right, sorting out alcohol and chocolate.

"Brilliant; vodka," he said, walking straight over to one of the bottles and taking a gulp from it. Sam leaned in the doorway, watching Liam slightly nervously. He'd seen his best friend like this before; he'd get incredibly pissed to deal with pain or rejection, and result in making things worse for himself. He was also keeping one eye on Gee, as he highly doubted she'd be happy with them in her apartment.
