Full name: Ed

Alias': Just Ed

Gender: Male

Species:Kruuth

Ethnicity: Rall

Birthdate/Age: July 8th, 4092/ 37 years old

Current Occupation: Mercenary

Physical Characteristics: Ed is comparable to an adult silverback mountain gorilla. He stands at about 6'9" Inches. He weighs in at a whopping 628 pounds, Which is mostly muscle which he has built through years of hard work and combat. He has thick dark brown (Nearly Black) hair that covers most of his body, except for his Hands, Feet, Face, Chest and stomach. His skin is a greyish black color, and is rough and calloused. He Is also usually wearing a heavy metal plate armor, the armor covers all vital areas, and as for weapons he brandishes simply a pair of forearm length gauntlets, which match his fighting style perfectly

Mental Characteristics: Ed is very secluded and mistrusting. It is not easy to make friends with him and he doesn't make it a habit of making close relationships with others; Even those of his own kind. Ed is also very impatient and does not like waiting to think through a plan. He would rather charge into battle punching, rending, throwing, and otherwise breaking everything in sight. He also cant sit still for very long, unless expressly told to do so for the sake of a mission by a commanding officer, albeit reluctantly. Ed is also very curious, and when overcome with curiosity, he will study the object of interest closely. Also He is particularly unfond of those with complicated names such as the Sz'kirksz'r, Whom he just refers to as Kirks, The Nalinathrians, whom he refers to as Nali's, and the Slindrithis, whom he refers to as the Slin's. If your name is complicated, Prepare to recieve a nickname or have your name shortened.

Disabilities: The Kruuth are a simple race, Ed is no exception. he has the calculating ability of an elementary schooler, so he is really not good for many "think-heavy" jobs. He is also very impatient, and when sitting still for long he is very easily agitated. If he needs to focus on something he finds boring, He will easily be agitated, and after a while. He will put it down and find something better to do.

Idiosyncrasies: Ed has the habit of mindlessly picking things up and fidgeting with them.

Planet/System of Origin: Korut, Kruuth Homesystem

Skills: Particularly skilled in hand to hand combat, especially because his wild and brutish fighting style is not even a fighting style. So there is not way to truly counter it or plan against it.

Physical Particulars: Besides his six eyes, which are standard to his race, He has a scar that runs from his left cheekbone down to his chin. The origin of which he never tells.

Mental/Psionic Particulars: None. Though if it counts, during combat, his sense of pain is noticably lessened, He goes into a trance like fury comparable to a Norse berserker.

Previous Occupation(s): Ship hand, Mercenary,

General History: Ed's father was a soldier in the Denaili Military. When Ed was a child of about 8 years old, Ed's father was stationed at XG-12 as a prison guard. The move took a few months, so of course Ed is not unfamiliar with a spacecraft. During the free time he was given on the trip, Eds father spent as much time with his son toughening him up. He was not to have any weak bone in his body. The training was a series of beatings, to get Ed to fight back. This "Training" continued long after their arrival at XG-12.
During the black out, Ed's father was to be sent back to Korut to fight, But due to the collapse of the warp drive, the trip would take many years. Ed and his mother stayed behind and Ed worked In a few Cargo ships that delivered to nearby stations and planets. During this he often had to fight of Interplanetary Pirates and others of the like. Ed was never affiliated to a single cargo company, but was hired strong arm, who took jobs from boards. He also helped what little law enforcement the denaili had over the XG system fight a few riot wars, if the pay offered was high enough..

Equipment/Attire/Currency on person: Basic heavy metal plate armor that will stop or unlethalize most slashing or piercing weapons. Also a gauntlet that covers his entire arm from the elbow down. As for currency he currently has 887 credits, along with 148 knucks, the Kruuth currency.

Axel: Thanks for making a character, mate. Seeing as we talked about everything else via RPG write, you're good to go.

Accepted!

I would like to make a statement here regarding posts. I'll be handling any important events- namely, those dealing with important characters such as the Shipmaster, Station Administrator, and other such individuals in the future. Considering how the RP has gone so far I'll say it's alright to have more control over random NPCs in your own posts, but I'd prefer if more meaningful interactions were left to me, so leave off at a good point for me to pick up things.

That said, I'll be making a post at some point in the future, once I get one or two more of you in there.
Order has returned to the galaxy.

Full name: Experiment 12 (XV82 Combat-Construct)

Alias':Tin-Pot, Xerxes

Gender: Male

Species: Denali Combat-Construct

Ethnicity: Humanoid Form

Birthdate/Age: 26/08/4029 (Terran Calender)

Current Occupation: Shipboard Security-Chief (Currently Unemployed)

Physical Characteristics: Xerxes, under his synthetic skin, is skeletal in construction, covered with thick cords of bio-mechanical muscles, with the blued-titanium of his bones showing through. He's around six foot tall, and well built, looking a lot more like a human than he probably should. His face has a patrician aspect, with a splayed nose, and a square jaw. His eyes are deep-set and steel-grey, and a crop of blonde hair clings to his shaven head.

Mental Characteristics: As a combat-construct, the concept of morality is pretty alien to Xerxes, who is, and probably always will be a soulless killing machine. Outside of battle, he is an affable person, intent on unravelling the mysteries of philosophy and morality in general.

Disabilities: None known.

Idiosyncrasies: Xerxes has the rather odd propensity to recite a number of meditation chants while in combat, in an attempt to reign in his programming, and allow him to distinguish friend from foe.

Planet/System of Origin: Haruchi Forge XVI, Kappa-Gamma Belt.

Skills:
Xerxes is skilled in the use of pretty much every weapon known to his Denali programmers, ranging from sub-compact percussion pistols, to man-portable plasma-cannons. His knowledge of melee weapons, and a specialized blend of martial-arts make him a formidable opponent in close range fighting.

He is also programmed with the skills of a basic pilot and driver, giving him a rudimentary knowledge of many fighter-craft and ground vehicles.

Intellectually, Xerxes is able to keep up with a discussion, although his lack of understanding regarding key concepts like “Empathy” and “Feeling” mean that he could be outstripped by a high school student.

Physical Particulars:
Offensive Capabilities;
Enhanced strength and reaction times allow him to pretty much outmanoeuvre and put down an unaugmented human. A normal punch is likely to crack ribs and fracture limbs.

The finger-bones of his right hand are inlaid with tiny conductors, which and project a high-powered electric charge across the whole hand, allowing Xerxes to take down targets without using lethal force.

His right hand carries an eight-inch mono-molecular blade, which slides out of the sheath in his forearm, to project between his index and ring finger.

Defensive Capabilities;
Under the layer of synthetic skin, is around a half-inch of sub-dermal armour, composed from ultra light-weight carbon-nanotubes, which is able to withstand most calibers of rail and percussion weapons. Despite this, Xerxes' titanium bones and frame are just as tough as the armour, and equally resistant to damage.

Passive Abilities;
Xerxes' eyes can view the world in infra-red, UV and thermal imaging. Along with this, his brain contains a very small set of echo-locators, which constantly scan his environment, alerting him to any threats outside of his field of vision.

Mental/Psionic Particulars: No psionic abilities.

Previous Occupation(s): Infantry soldier, Orbital Drop-troop, ship-board security-chief.

General History:
After his creation, and brief period of training Xerxes was thrust into the field of battle between two rival factions of Enlightened, vying for control of the Kappa-Gamma belt.

He started life as an infantry grunt, leading charges across artillery-split ground, splitting metallic skulls with his fists and blades. After he rescued a platoon of Denali shock troops from a bunker, surrounded by hunter-killer forms almost single-handed, he was rotated from the front for the command-and-control package, making him the equivalent of a lieutenant.

It was at this point he gained his love for Terran history and philosophy, after several key battles from Ancient Greece were imprinted into his tactical database. This was also the point when he took on the name Xerxes.

After another two decades of leading Infantry platoons into battle, Xerxes became bored with the monotonous combat, and transferred out of the regular army, and into an Orbital-Strike platoon.

After another month receiving more combat training, along with piloting programmes, he took part in the action that ended the war between the two Denali civilizations, crashing through the roof of a governmental building, and taking the high-command hostage until a truce was signed.

Peace-time didn't really suit Xerxes' programming, so he left the Kappa-Gamma belt, heading for Terran space, in the hope of interfacing with the culture that fascinated him so.

During this long journey, he became security-chief on over seven ships, transferring as they were destroyed or made berth. It was at this time the blackout hit, stranding him in the Research Prison XG . Another side-effect of the blackout, was the awakening of what you could call true sentience, allowing Xerxes to learn, and act outside his programming, becoming much more effective as a soldier, and a civilian

Equipment/Attire/Currency on person
Weaponry:
MkVII Rail-Rifle (Haruchi Pattern): A powerful and effective weapon that has served the soldiers of the Denali in the Kappa-Gamma Belt for over three decades. It uses a fat 10mm conductive projectile in twenty round magazines inserted into the rear of the weapon. It uses a quad-mount of electromagnetic rails to accelerate the projectile to massive velocities, allowing it to shred targets at all ranges.

Xerxes' model carries a 4x scope that can be linked directly to his eyes, and a bayonet lug.

MkIII Combat Pistol: The MkIII is a small and compact rail-pistol, designed for close range combat. Using a dual-rail system, the MkIII fires a snub-nosed 11.7mm projectile, optimized to blow holes through body armour and flesh. It takes ten round magazines slid into the grip.

Xerxes' model has bio-sensors on the grip, that ensure that only he can fire it.

Kanjhar pattern Vibro-sword; The Khanjar is a single-handed sword, with a eighteen inch straight blade, with a small power-pack built into the grip. This projects ultrasonic vibrations up the blade, causing it to resonate, allowing it to cause massive wounds.

Aris pattern combat-knife; The Aris is a simple weapon, with an eight-inch blade, with a serrated back-blade. The blade is mono-molecular.

Clothing:
Xerxes dresses in a simple, black body-glove, with several internal sheaths and pockets, allowing him to store his personal weapons on his person. The suit is lightly armoured and insulated against the cold. When used with an armoured helmet, it becomes vacuum sealed. The close fitting nature of the suit does not limit his movement.

Gear:
Xerxes uses a slim-line synthetic backpack to store the gear that he can't carry in his suit. It holds;
120 rounds of 10mm ammunition.
60 rounds of 11.7mm ammunition.
Three spare Vibroblade power-packs.
Repair kit for the synthetic bodysuit.
An external communication headset.
An internal diagnostic unit.
A credit wafer holding 3,500 credits.

Held in the internal pockets of his suit;
80 rounds of 10mm ammunition.
40 rounds of 11.7mm ammunition
1 spare vibroblade power-pack.
Aris Combat-Knife
MkIII Combat Pistol

Re: [OOC] The Star Crusade ( )

I'll be posting up my profiles later on during the day. For a taste of what I'm cooking up, one of the characters is a Terran who works as an escort for shuttles used by the corporations on XG-5, with no real ties to any one company. The other character is his mentor of sorts, an old Avian gunner who taught the Terran about the good ol' joys of shoving gauss gun rounds into unsavory characters while simultaneously avoiding the same fate. The two pilot the White Duchess, a tidy little scrap heap with a swivel-mounted mass driver and just enough oomph in the retros to do some fancy maneuvers.

We shall never stand down in fright.
We are the evil, we are the saints,
We are your protectors, acting without thanks."

Full name: Slaine Rogerson

Alias': Connoisseur

Gender: Male

Species: Terran

Ethnicity: Caucasoid, name derivative of Irish origin

Birthdate/Age: 4104, the age of 25.

Current Occupation: Currently, Slaine takes the odd job piloting escort craft for whoever is hiring. He guards shuttles for a living, alongside his compatriot Merlow, his mentor and gunner.

Physical Characteristics: He stands at about five feet and seven inches in height, small and lean, weighing in at around 160 pounds. He wears his straight brown hair cut under his ears, messy, with the bangs resting half an inch above the eyes. His eyes are a darker shade of brown.

Mental Characteristics: Outwardly, Slaine appears to have an adventurous streak, dashing into problems without thinking them through. In reality, he harbors a distinct fear every time he knows he's getting in over his head. He sometimes lies awake at night dreading the next day, especially with his line of business. He's smart enough to know how to build his own ship and what each of the parts do, but not enough so that he has a complete understanding of why they work; that is, he knows the proper placement and power ratios for a jump drive, but he's not going to know why the jump drive even works the way it does. He's old enough to understand wisdom, and to recognize the difference between courageousness and foolishness, but he's young enough to still make mistakes. He favors the more humanoid races over those that are more alien, though he tries to avoid placing prejudice upon anyone.

Disabilities: Slaine suffers from anxiety, and sometimes takes 'happy pills' to relieve himself. It's not usually debilitating, though he can get quite flustered and frustrated in the proper situations. Typically when it comes to life or death scenarios, he can ride himself off on adrenaline, but he gets very shaky afterwards.

Idiosyncrasies: Habitually, Slaine whistles whenever he isn't talking to someone. He sometimes tends to speak too fast, or tries to act too cool. He tends to speak his thoughts out loud, especially when he shouldn't.

Planet/System of Origin: XG-5

Skills: He's a good frigate pilot and a decent gunner. He can maintain his equipment, and can piece together something out of scraps. He's a decent shot with a pistol when he needs to be, a good brawler when paired with a weapon, and can handle the basics of low-g martial arts. He can write songs, remember phrases, can hold his breath for over a minute, and can pitch a ball pretty well. He's typically good with directions, and his spacial awareness is rather honed, and can outrun most people when completely unhindered by equipment. He's good with zero-g acrobatics, but tends to fall flat on his face in normal gravity. He knows emergency first aid, can calculate chess positions up to three moves, has a deceptive poker face, and makes a good scavenger when times are tough. With the right tools, he can make a decent meal.

Physical Particulars: None of any really pertinence.

Mental/Psionic Particulars: Slaine is a specialist in fighter craft, able to handle both maneuvering his craft and manning the swivel mount. Granted, he hasn't mastered performing a dual-role, but with the proper computer aid he can handle his ship like a pro. Until he gets the proper practice, he's stuck with either taking a gunner with him or using computer-aided targeting, but otherwise he has the aptitude and spacial awareness for dogfights.

Previous Occupation(s): Slaine has always been a delivery boy in some form or another, typically running parcels by foot or scooter. When he met with Merlow, he took up piloting as a profession, working for the various mafias and corporations as an escort for carrier shuttles. The pay wasn't very good, but it was enough to scrape by and keep the White Duchess intact.

General History: Slaine was born after the initial passing of the blackout. He currently lives in a small apartment with his mother, Molly, and his best friend and mentor, Merlow. His father, Rodger, left a long while ago when he was a kid. Slaine lived as part of the lower class, his family losing mostly everything when the Blackout hit. He lived day to day working alongside his mother, being home schooled when he could, up through his teenage years. That was when he started doing delivers as a runner, making a bit of extra dough with a bit of extra responsibility. During one of his runs, he found work alongside an older Avian named Merlow, a former POW and ex-fighter pilot. With a bit of prodding and a run through a flight simulator, Merlow figured that Slaine could play with the big boys and get a step up in pay, and, maybe, a chance to leave this sorry system behind. So, with the cash that both Merlow and Slaine had saved up, they pieced together a small fighter they called the White Duchess. As of now, the two do all their jobs together, Merlow acting as gunner, Slaine as pilot.

Equipment/Attire/Currency on person: To list: A small apartment, occupied by Slaine, his mother, and Merlow; Basic essentials includes clothing, bed, food, flight suit; A small Mk27 Isidro Autoloader gauss pistol, with spare ammunition; An utility knife; A set of visor-styled sunglasses; Various mechanic's tools; A scattered books on various subjects, both for learning and leisure; A space fighter called The White Duchess, a two-seater fighter capable of fitting a pilot in front, and a gunner behind. The ship is armed with a swivel-mounted gauss cannon on the top of the ship, capable of aiming in 270degrees of arc with a full range of rotation. The gunner's seat is of special make, able to transition between standard humanoid positioning as well as allowing for a special aiming mechanism designed to be operated by all four limbs and full motion of the body. This design fits Merlow's style, allowing him to make fluid and precise adjustments using his own body; Enough cash to survive the next couple weeks without work.

[hr]

Full name: Merlow

Alias': The Pale Blade

Gender: Male

Species: Firaldi

Ethnicity: Avian

Birthdate/Age: 4087, the age of 42.

Current Occupation: Merlow works as a turret gunner for the fighter White Duchess, alongside his pilot Slaine Robertson

Physical Characteristics: Merlow stands at six feet and four inches in height, tall and gaunt, weighing in at around one hundred and ten pounds. His body is covered with stark white, puffy feathers over the darkest, black skin. His eyes are wide and round, fully black with shallow amber irises. He has a dark beak that pokes out in front of his face, hooking down.

Mental Characteristics: Merlow is typically quiet and calculating, wise and outspoken. He is a commonly brooding individual, keeping to himself except for when he can hand out some advice. He's mentally broken past the point of no return and no regrets, and is more than willing to sacrifice himself for a just cause if given the chance. He gives off an air of being laid-back, though his mind is a bit rougher around the edges than others would think.

Disabilities: Merlow suffers from insomnia, caused by endless nightmares.

Idiosyncrasies: Merlow tends to smoke more often than he should, a habit that he does not condone. He tends to squawk when excited, and cluck when he's aggravated. He hums to himself when he wants to work in solitude, and tends to dance and prance around instead of simply walking.

Planet/System of Origin: Firaldi Kingdom

Skills: As an ex-pilot, Merlow was one of the most feared warriors of space and sky. He is an expert pilot and gunner, and has one of the sharpest eyes for detail. On a good day, he takes over for cooking, something he prides himself dearly upon. He is trained for close combat in zero-g, and is a practitioner of the standard Avian military's martial arts. He is handy with firearms and knives alike, and is a crack shot when playing darts. He's ambidextrous, and is quite capable of using his feet as easily as his hands. He's a fine gambler when he needs to be, an excellent poet when he's bored, and he can tell you how to make any sort of hard drug, explosive device, and jury-rigged motor with basic everyday items. He has a habit of being able to crawl into tiny spaces, and can name you half the planets in the galaxy without batting an eye.

Physical Particulars: Various ribs have been replaced with prosthetic bones, as well as the ulna and radius of the left arm and the tibia of the right leg.

Mental/Psionic Particulars: Merlow was a pilot for the early years of his life; he has distinct knack for spatial awareness that lets him keep track of objects in three-dimensional space almost mechanically. He knows most of the inner workings of Firaldi and Terran-Denali craft, and can pilot nearly anything as large as a freighter with the skill of an ace.

Previous Occupation(s): Back in the days when Merlow was a lad, he was a soldier in the Avian army in a campaign pitched between the Avians and the Terran-Denali. He was captured a few years into his career, making XG-7 his home. After the Blackout and his subsequent release from imprisonment, he spent his later years picking up cash wherever he could, typically through gambling and smuggling runs.

General History: As one of many brothers and sisters who joined the war against the Denali, Merlow set out to make a name for himself as one of the top pilots in the military. He was the Pale Dagger, pilot of the Toccata, a master of surgical strikes upon the engines and turrets of well-armed cruisers. However, he, the perfect warrior, slipped up once, and his life was turned upside-down as he became a prisoner of war. He was studied upon XG-7, where he learned how to survive as one man amongst many wronged, and discovered how to live life on the dark side. After his eventual release from prison, he scummed around, living day to day. It was on one fateful day that on a smuggling run for a large shipment of personal ordnance that he ran into Slaine Richardson. Originally using the young man and his money to try to find a legitimate way out of the system, Merlow eventually decided to teach Slaine the ropes about piloting after witnessing his talent. With what money the two of them could pool, they bought a fighter for themselves, the garage to keep it in, and the parts to keep it running. Merlow moved in with Slaine and his mother, agreeing to pay his expenses while he lived there, and now currently works alongside the man in his escort jobs.

Equipment/Attire/Currency on person: To list: Assorted clothing, generally robes and tunics, with spare shorts mixed in; An Isidro Mk27 autoloader gauss pistol; an extending shockstaff with rechargeable capacitor; a tin of tobacco and pipe; a garage that houses the White Duchess; various playing cards and dice, some of them loaded or marked; a couple thousand credits for a rainy day.

Posting this profile for a friend who is unable to make an account at the moment.

Full name: Sean Lasko
Alias: Switters
Gender: Male
Species: Terran
Ethnicity: White
Birthdate/Age: 27
Current Occupation: Engineer / Hacker.
Physical Characteristics: around 170 pounds, standing around 6'3. The first thing that can be noted is one of his leggs is in a bionic brace. Since it's an old model, it acts little better than a walking cane, limiting his speed to a mild jog at best. He has a slim build, lacking any real muscles or fat. Has a short goatee and mustache, that usually needs trimming. Wired spectles go over his blue eyes, with a short, scraggly blonde hair on top.
Mental Characteristics: Switters hardly ever takes life seriously and procrastinates often. He tends to become distracted by things easily, such as a childish inuendo or shiny gadgets hes never seen. However, he never loses focus when the situation requires it. Switters works well under pressure and violence, though he doesn't agree with killing if it can be avoided. While he loves his machines, he puts people and personality first being a compassionate fellow.
Disabilities: Crippled from the knee down on his right leg.

Idiosyncrasies:Switters Smokes ciggarrettes whenever he has a good reason (Ie, anychance he gets). He also talks to himself aloud when he's messing with computer programs.
Skills: Has exstensive talent and skill hacking computers of terran origin, however is unfamilar with alien technology and cant use it as easily. Also has random knowledge of spacecrafts. While battle hardened, Switters still isn't a great shot when it comes to firearms.

Physical Particulars: He has a bionic leg-brace on this right leg. This gives him the ability to barely jog, but is much better than a cane or a chair.
Mental/Psionic Particulars: none

Previous Occupation(s): Flight academy(dropout), Database Managment, Electronic Repairman.

General History: Sean Lasko was Born a few years before the blackout. Before that, his father worked in a research space station around the planet Terraria. It was on this station where Sean grew up There they managed weapons testing for the planets militia, under the authority of the Denaili. After the blackout however, the station was quickly raided by pirates and Sean's father sent him and his mother on an escape pod back to the planet, while he himself perished in the destruction of the station.
Back on Terraria, Sean grew up fiddling with random electronic devices. When had acess to his first computer, he almost never left it. However, he always wanted to go back into space and see what other technologies they had available before the black out. When he was old enough he enrolled into the flight academy, the only chance he had of going back into space. He unfortunately failed. Switters was his nickname because never had some one been Swatted down so fast from going to space. Switters then made a career out his programing and engineering skills. After awhile, he once again tried to go back into space by making contacts with some space smugglers who were in need of a hacker. Switters got the Job and rode with them to close by planets and stations. At one point however, they were ambushed and the pilot, the only one knowing how to fly the ship, was shot dead. After Switters and a few others made it back to the ship from the trap, he ended up being the most qualified to fly the ship. By his sheer talent (or more likely dumb luck) they evaded capture and end up in this system. Unfortunately, Switters other crewmates decided they were retiring, and thus now he was a freelancing hacker away from home. At least he gets to see the stars now.
Equipment/Attire/Currency on person: Contains a laptop of durable design but had been well used. Wearing cargo pants,a teeshirt with a hiking vest over it. Slung around his shoulder is a duffel bag with some other clothes, a durable self charging flashlight, a canteen, and some old beefjerky. On his left wrist he has a high tech watch that seems to be malfunctioning at the moment. The vest pockets have a few blank memory chips in them a light and a pack of smokes. Under his pants in his leg brace is a small stash of emergency credits, enough for a few meals.

As for characters...

Xavier: Your character is accepted! However, I do need to talk to you about the firepower you're already toting. Seems a bit excessive to start with, but that can be changed later.

PolterGhost: Your characters look pretty good, but I have an issue; the Feraldi revolt was both short lived and several centuries ago, so Merlow's history needs to be updated. The Firaldi broke the Denaili hold pretty easily once all their fleets retreated to the homeland after the blackout, so there wasn't much of a pitched battle involved; of course, they did go right back into fighting eachother, so maybe you can work that in, but keep in mind that the propulsion systems are a bit broken for cross-star travel.

Switters: Seeing as we talked about this before (and you don't have an account yet), this is accepted.

A final note to both Xav and Ghost, rail technology is a bit dated in XG system, so finding good ammunition will be a bit difficult for now. Just an FYI.
