The Streetbreaker Cup (tournament OOC/Sign-ups) ( )

Postby Ghaarme on Fri Jul 23, 2010 10:54 pm

Hello and welcome, to the Streetbreaker cup!

What you are reading is a formal invitation to compete in a competition of martial skill and power, and a chance to prove that you are the top-dog! If you're interested, please take your nearest trans-universal mode of transportation to the planet 'Clockwork Delta'. It is here where the battles will take place. In this sprawling gigatropolis of a planet, great cities and sky-piercing towers loom, all filled to the brim with deadly traps and puzzles that could give you an invaluable edge over your opponent...or prove to be your downfall. So, what say you, brave warrior? You in?

*stretches and yawns* Heya! It's been a while since I've taken a stroll around the Battle Arena...and I must say, quite a few new faces. After reading through a few of the fights I began feeling extremely nostalgic and decided; Hey, why not make a tourney? And here we are! Long story short, the Streetbreaker Cup is a straight-up brawl, single-elimination series of fights.

Tournament Info:
1) All characters are to be PMed to me, and only submitted to the OOC after I give you the 'ok'. OK?

2) All characters must be mid-tier or lower, and by mid-tier I mean...superhuman. Above human abilities, but not some one man army or god.

3) Each fight lasts until one of these criteria has been met; A. One or the other combatant has been slain, forfeits or is unable to continue. B. Fifteen turns from each combatant has been posted, at which point I will pass judgement on who is the winner to keep things from slowing down. Or C. A clear violation of the rules takes place with one or the other party, in which case the 'fair' fighter will proceed to the next round.

4) Just to reiterate, there is a time limit for each fight, so to speak. If a total of thirty posts have been made, and neither combatant has fallen, I will re-read the entire battle and declare a winner based on writing ability and the individual's adaptability with the given terrain.

5) Each fight will have a unique terrain, with several traps and a single puzzle that will aid whomever figures out how it works.

Rules:
-T1 rules (of course)
-No godmodding, metagaming or any of that other stuff you know you ain't s'posed to be doin'.
-All hits are to be assumed. There will be no spells or attacks that can not be dodged or blocked. Nothing is certain, but please be reasonable!
-No auto-hitting
-Must be willing to take hits as well as deal them
-No mind reading, or powers not clearly stated in the character profile
-5 day limit to posting, afterwards the hit will be assumed.
-Original class characters only (no soulreapers, naruto-esk ninja or anything like that)

Umm...that's about it! Anyone game?

Yes, please, yes! I haven't had the chance to fight in AGES. Been wanting to use Lewis but the opportunities seem to slip, or die down.

In as Magnus. Perhaps you should make the matches ranked? Request for a HoR judge to input the matches if you do.

You know, it's been a while since I've been in one of these. I'd like to use Vince Crager, if you don't mind.

Both Twilight and Con are accepted, provided both of you make the following changes:

Twilight- Magnus can no longer manipulated metal for the duration of the tournament. Too many of the arenas are completely made of metal and that would give him an overwhelming advantage over the competition.

Conumbra- Two things, mostly just wording issues. First, turn the "Immune to bullets" bit into resistance to kinetic force...because you can't really be immune to a specific physical object :/ If I had a wooden stake shot at the same speed as bullet from a .45 it'd tear right through that fancy-shmancy armor then, since it ain't a bullet xD? And two, change the "high-intensity laser that can burn through pretty much anything" into a high intensity laser that can burn through -example- at it's strongest. Anything is an unfair generalization that could lead to some serious issues later on...

That's all!

Done, hopefully it's fixed to your liking.

Hmmm, alright. He doesn't have almighty control like he does with Earth, just the ability to pull weapons and structures out of it. Some bending, some shaping, but mostly it's ineffective. But I'll go without the metal manipulation if you want.

Changes are good, and no metal manipulation :O nobody else wants to fight?

Alright, I'm interested in joining this, Ghaarme, and I promise to actually post in this one.

The only problem is, the other sites I use the character I wanna use him on, I've got him as high-tier, and the "Add a Character" function seems to have disappeared from my User Control Panel, so, I'm going to post the high-tier description, with strikethroughs and amendments made on powers that'll be either dulled down, or removed completely.

Name: Isaak Lindt
Race: Humanoid - Archmage - Herald
Age: Unknown -- appears to be in his early 20s
Height: Six and a half feet
Weight: Two hundred pounds
Hair Color: Silver
Hair Style: Medium-long
Eye Color Silver, with crimson lining around the iris, pupil, and outer edges.
Character Affiliation: Val'gara

Character Tier: High
Character Alignment: Neutral
Character Group Power: Psi-Networking - High Tier

Character Abilities

Dominant Trait: The Changing of the Tide(8)

Isaak has the ability to change the affects of the world around him with just his mind. He can think, create, or destroy nearly anything with just his mind. From physical objects to metaphysical objects existing primarily on the Astral Plane, or another -- similar -- plane of existence. They are all subject to the might of Isaak's mind, and can theorhetically be changed by the power of his thought alone. This goes for anything from huge, massive constructs to molecules in the air. Isaak's most commonly known to rearrange his molecular structure, which not only changes his physical appearence, but gives him added abilities and powers that go with those other forms of his body.

Perfected Alteration:(6) Isaak has perfected the ability to alter objects through sheer knowledge of them. This is an advanced form of his latent ability; Psychometry. Psychometry allows him to know anything and everything about a place, object, or person just by touching them with flesh-on-flesh, or in some cases, flesh-on-robotics contact. In doing that, he knows how to change them with just his mind. He can utilize this skill to make weapons more efficient, or explode in the hands of their user. The same goes for near anything he can touch, though humanoids with organic flesh are a little harder to alter than robotics and weapontry.

Perfected Regeneration:(8) Isaak can now repair flesh wounds in nanoseconds, and critical wounds in a scant more time. As long as his brain stem is still attached to his body, he can repair any wound taken at an almost instant pace. Lost limbs, while not as easy as simple wounds, can be regenerated to his body in minutes, rather than hours or days. Isaak perfected this power to be used in perfect correlation with The Changing of the Tide, as well as Perfected Alteration, so that it works more through those powers, than as a power of its own, taking less of his own mental stability and stamina to use.

Perfected Nanorobotics:(5) Isaak has, more or less, spent most of his life looking through the robotics world, and has come up with the perfected nanorobotics theory. He uses his ability with Nanorobotic knowledge to keep a vast store of them at various points in his body. The most notable storage system is his heart, where over fifteen million of them reside. Without the need for blood, his body runs on the power of nanites. At the center of his chest, he can unleash the nanites from his body. They also reside all throughout his skeletal structure, musculature, and other various organs. These nanorobotics function as his life-blood, as well as a combat suit which, when needed, will cover his entire body in their nearly indestrucible shell. ( Interchange with nearly indestructible, with extremely durable. )

Perfected Manipulatives:(8) Whereras most people can only manipulate one - two elements of nature or metaphysics, Isaak Lindt can manipulate vast amounts, utilizing manipulation of both metal ores, such as Titanium, to magical properties, such as manipulation of air. Isaak has a vast ability in this area, and can use his Perfected Manipulatives to control nearly any element he is faced with. Metaphysical powers generally consist of one or more of these elemental natures, and are therefore -- generally -- subject to Isaak's power.

Perfected Teleportation:(5) Isaak can not only teleport from place to place in this dimension, and this world, but to any given point he could possibly choose. Both forward and backward in time, as well as across different planes of existence and/or dimensions to reach a specific location or item which he strives to gain. It's through this that he travels most everywhere, preferring a quick arrival to a slower moving vehicle. His body, in this state, travels in the form of rays of light, and travels at a faster-than-light speed. ( Teleportation will only be used to a high-degree in getting to the actual planet, once the fighting begins it'll be about a 5 on a 1-10 scale )

Perfected Feeding:(6) Like your average Vampire, Isaak needs to feed to stay strong. While able to live without feeding on the subjects of organic compounds, he is stronger when he does feed. However, he doesn't feed on blood, but the plasma and molecules of an organic creature. Perfecting this beyond normal life-sustaining feeding, he's able to utilize Perfected Feeding to not only steal the life-force of a person, but in most cases can steal one of their main abilities as well. This is a one in two chance (50%), and is the way that Isaak has gained most of his powers throughout his never-ending life. While mostly feeding on Organic Compounds, to gain the plasma and power of a living creature, he can also feed from robotics, taking their stored energy for his own.

Perfected Intelligence:(6) Isaak, being a being who is as hold, if not older, than most of the universes he's inhabited, he's spent several centuries to studying anything and everything, and has increased his ability to know and learn to exponential amounts. His intelligence is perfected, in that it seems to always expand, based on the situation at hand. In feeding, he can increase his knowledge of what he was facing, their race, type, and even know things that they knew.

Perfected Swordplay:(6) Self-explainatory. Isaak is a swordmaster, capable of using any sword he lays his hand on to an almost unparralleled degree.

Character Equipment

Isaak has several types of equipment available to him, though he only uses a few of them from time to time. Most commonly used are:

Sword of the Psycho:(6) A powerful artifcat from Isaak's past, he's capable of using this weapon as an instrument of his feeding. By striking someone with the weapon, he can begin to drain a portion of their life force. Links to that person are made on contact with the sword, up to ten links total. The more links created, the more life force is drained every minute. The sword, aside from that, is your average sword weapon. The Sword of the Psycho is a buster-sword type weapon. It's roughly seven foot long, a foot and a half wide, and six inches thick on the back-side. Isaak is accomplished with this weapon, but it is his second choice if it comes to armed combat. ( The powers of the links will remain the same, but now -- rather than ten -- it takes 30 for complete and total demise. )

Perfect Sword:(8) This sword is lightweight, but capable of massive amounts of damage. Isaak can channel his power through the weapon, increasing it ten-fold through this. The power pushed through the sword also enhances the swords own power, increasing it to the point of near-indestructibility. This sword is done in the semblance of a samurai-era katana. Roughly four and a half feet long, three inches wide, and a half an inch thick on the back-side, the weapon is used to perfection in Isaak's hands.

I will take the liberty of making the first post, Sorin, good luck to you.

Ghaarme, I'm double checking, but T1 uses preps, and states that prepped attacks can only be canceled out with defenses of equal amounts of preps right?

Also, if you take an attack your opponent sent at you (say a magic bolt), and you defended, resulting in the attack being redirected back at the opponent (a la mirror force or redirection) does that count as your attack phase?

Yar, defenses must be prepped an equal amount of time but I always found this subject...touchy. If your opponent uses a three-turn-prepped fireball you could just, ya know, dodge it...and still have time to attack...all without having to prep a defense.

Anyways, regarding the reflect option, I personally count that as defense since you're using the opponent's offensive phase against them.
