The ship shook, almost as bad as when the dinghy had crashed into the side of her hull. Luckily, the mediator was able to put up a tiny shield, like that of a pillow, around his head so that when he crashed into the corridor wall it didn't hurt to much. Even so, he knew that the pilot of the dinghy was in for a lot of trouble...with the ship landed Zach would be coming. He immediately moved over to the fainted pilot, slapping the beastian's face lighlty, attempting to wake him for some advice. Dropping the skirt on the floor, along with anything else Ezra had given him, he attended to the injured man. Unsure of whether the humanoid was awake or not, he offered some advice, using some magic to completely express how important what he was saying was. "Pilot, listen to me, don't argue with Captain Zach, it won't do you any good. Just accept what your given...it is for the best, my friend."

Turning to the younger mage nearby, he spoke once more, not trying to convey much of anything. "Could you dump some water on him or something? Make sure he is focused, he may need to be. If he chooses to fight Zah" This thought scared Kairen, no one could best Zach. Slowly the man rose, setting his robes straight and moving onto the mage, who was unconscious, likely because he spoke to a rather....insane individual. He knelt, slapping the mage gently, automatically knowing that nothing was wrong with the boy other than not being conscious. "My friend, can you hear me? Get up.."

"Alright M'lady. I have to get back to work then... I apologize for my recent... stupidities." The Tieflings bowed, and turned around to see Kel struggling with Damien. "Shit... I almost overdosed him... what the fuck is wrong with me?!" He ran up to her. "I'm sorry Kel, I should know better than to leave you with a sleeping patient on deck." He began to take a look at her. Her race needed water, and she appeared to be losing it. Ethan pulled out a canteen, filling it with his magic. "Here, you'll need this.. I need to go check on our crash victim... and stop fucking up...Somebody help her!"

It was in the Captain's quarters that things were getting strange. He walked in to see a corpse on the floor, or so he thought, Ezra with her staff raised at a bleeding , and the bleeding crash victim near on the floor as well. "What the fuck happened here?" He was looking to his side at Ezra, figuring she would have the best explanation. It was then that he felt the ship crash into something. He immediately wrapped his arms around Ezra, hoping to keep her from becoming injured.

Shakily rising from a pile of dust and random rubble Julias looks around. Their landing hand sent him flying out of his cabin, where he’d taken refuge seconds before the impact. Not because he thought it would provide any more protection, but rather because he didn’t wish to be seen. The cocoon of air he’d formed around himself while hidden from view had absorbed most of the impact from the hard wooden floor, before his momentum had slid him out of his room. He hadn’t been damaged in the least, but his head still swam from the mental strain. He’d have to be more careful.

Scrambling over to the now slightly larger hole in the ship’s side he saw the ship’s mediator, a pleasant man by the name of Kairen, standing over the Pilot who had crashed into the Isabella earlier. Reaching to his side and still finding his freshwater canteen at his side he tossed it to Kairen.

“Hey Kairen, is he going to be all right? Before the captain gets to him of course.”

Well this was both good and bad. Everyone would forget the little “incident” from earlier, but at the same time the ship was down, and if his own fighter had been damaged he’d strangle the fool who had hit them himself.

Ezra’s blue eyes were as wide as saucers when that crazed furry man smiled at her insanely with that twitching eye of his. For a moment the seventeen year old thought she was going to be murdered by a crazy mage killer out for vengeance. All of her spells, and all of her hard work at the academy completely fell out of Ezra’s head in that instant and all she could do was whimper. But then…he didn’t kill her. The girl stood there frozen in shock as her heart started to literally pounding out of her chest. Not daring to move the mage just watched the other man with her eyes still as wild as if someone had put a free spell on her. The only time she relaxed was when the Besterian passed out after seeing his blood, it was then Ezra let out a heavy sigh of relief.

Ezra had been about to walk over to the other fallen mage when she heard the captain’s voice over the intercom, but what it said she wasn’t completely sure since the foot steps of yet another person appear behind her. Turning to Ethan Ezra went to answer but then the ship started shaking. The girl started to stumble when Ethan grabbed her and pulled her into himself! Once again the girl’s eyes went wide as she let out a “Oomph!” as her side banged against his chest. Instantly stiffening the girl brought her staff to her chest as she mildly started to panic, “We’re crashing!!” Just as the words came out though the ship fully crashed and Ezra closed her eyes thankful she hadn’t fallen to her death.

The mage didn’t bother moving as she heard Kairen from behind walk past them talking or doing whatever he was doing. No this student wasn’t paying attention to any of that. Yes, right now she was a pirate, but only two weeks ago she had been in the academy sitting at a desk in the classroom listening to boring lectures. And now she was on a ship that had just crash landed in who knows where! She could have died! What if she was dead! Slowly the mage opened her eyes as her body started to shake a bit from shock. It was then she noticed that Ethan was holding her and she heard some other foot steps near the cabin. “Ar-Are…Are we alive?” Was the only words she could blurt out at the moment.

Crack!
The pilot's gun hint his head and he fell backwards instantly. Everything went black and the world around him disappeared. He heard voices but it sounded like voices from the past.
"He's too dangerous to be around normal people!"
"He's harmless, only as long as he has the Rod of Diax!"
"I'm sorry Nostram, he's too much of a risk to the other students. We can't accept him. Goodbye mister Nostram."
The images and voices spanned out into a spiral and disappeared in to another black haze. Nicodemus heard voices again but this time it was of those that were around him.
"Your bleeding!"
"Oi, what the hell do you think your doing?!"
The voices died off in the distance and was followed by a large crashing noise. Nicodemus' vision was coming to him but he was lifted into the air immediately on impact. His leg hit the cockpit of the pilot's plane. A large crack shattered his bones and destroyed the glass as it jolted into his leg. Nicodemus was flying in the air and was now spinning. Attached to his belt was a small rod with a blue crystal in the shape of the moon. The force of his spinning shook it loose and it flew into the sky and landed in the pilot's lap.
Nicodemus flied out of the ship and landed on the ground this woke him up and he howled with pain from his broken leg. He tumbled into along the ground and landed off a small cliff into a raging river. Nicodemus splashed in the rapids trying to remain above water but his leg was bleeding and the water became red. Nic hit a rock on his back and he roared but was silenced with a large gush of water. He was pinned against the rock and the force of the current. The force was immense. Nicodemus screamed and his vision became fully white with a swirling of blue.
The river froze instantly and shattered as it became apart of his body. The ice formed rose above the ground. The air became cold and snow and hail started to fall. In the region that they were in this never happened. It was a blizzard mixed with a maelstrom.

Cairne watched the last-ditch attempt of Zach's ship to land. Cairne had underestimated the bulky ship's size, once again. The ship would have required a much larger landing pad than the smallish one provided by the Hallingraad port. He almost had the urge to go out to the crew, but once again- he was on bad terms with the crew- at least who had been with Zach in the months before the idling of the Ragnarok.

Cairne wondered how Ethan got into Zach's crew, even after the 'incident', as Ethan was still on Cairne's ship at the time. It must have been a racial thing, seeing how there have always been quite a few Tieflings on board the Isabella.

Kairen watched in horror as the ship shook another time and the mage fell out of the broken hull, powerless to save the man. Another death he was forced to witness, or a likely death, which would hurt the mediator. No one deserved that kind of tragedy. The mediator then turned his attention to the unconscious pilot, splashing some water from the water canteen he was thrown onto the creatures face, placing the rest beside him.

The mediator, sorrowed by the loss of a friend he didn't know that well, wandered over to Ethan and Ezra, completely oblivious to the ice storm that had begun. "Yes, you are fine Ezra, we are all fine. Zach just set the ship down, to give us time for repairs." This time, he spoke with a magical undertone, attempting to convince Ezra that what he said was true, which it was, and that she shouldn't be worried. "Thank you Ethan, I doubt Ezra would have appreicated a bump on her head, but, could you please check the pilot over there? He may be internally injured, my friend."

KAiren walked up beside Ezra, holding her upper arm once more to give her the comfort of yet another sentient life form being nearby. "Go Ethan, it would be best if the man was awake when Captain got here, else he not be able to defend himself."

Julias stood dumbstruck in the chaos. The ship was a wreck. People were screaming, and now, of all things, it was snowing. Kairen was out and about helping people, slowing panic, and overall being a saint. Not much of a surprise, he’d never seen the man do a bad thing, despite not having known him for very long.

“Kairen, think we should move him or something? At least to give the captain some time to calm down. Hell if I was him I’d kill this poor bastard. If not need any help? I got lucky, just a few scrapes and bruises.”

The ship had landed, one of the people on the floor had fallen out of the ship, creating a storm in the process. Ethan wished he could have been across the room to grab him, but he was busy keeping Ezra from hitting the deck. "Yeah... we're alive... You're okay." He was almost whispering, he was trying to calm himself, and hopefully Ezra as well. She seemed to be much more worried about the crash than him, it made since, he'd been in worse situations. He slowly let go of her, making sure she was able to stand. "I'll check you in a bit... you might be shocked from the rough landing..."

Ethan took his orders, the idiot may have caused this, but he still deserved a fighting chance. He sat over the boy, clicking on his armbands. He ran his hand over the man once, numbing his head. "He's gonna need stitches.." He said to himself." He took out a cleaning solution, and dumbed it on the open wound, then a lone needle shot out of the right armband, already threaded. "Alright..." He poked the needle through the cut on the thing's head. It was tedious work, but each stitch was eventually sewed where it should be. It took about five minutes, thank god Ethan was a quick worker. He wrapped a bandage around the area, letting it absorb any blood still coming out.

After tending to the man, he pulled him to the corner of the room, making sure he took any weaponry away from him, and putting it outside the room. While on deck, he announced his work. "I'LL BE OUT TO CHECK ALL OF YOU SHORTLY! DON'T MOVE IF YOU HAVE ANY BROKEN BONES!"

Lune sat up trying to keep his sniffles in check as began to follow Cecilia wherever she led him off to. "N-no you called me Lunatic again! That's not my name Lune is my first name and my middle name is Atik! Miss... um... ma'am! Please are you listening to me?" But his pleas with Cecilia were cut short as the ship landed roughly against the ground. Losing his feet from underneath him he once more slammed into the floor beneath him this time sliding just a bit. across the ground leaving a large burn across his now exposed stomach. Getting up he held his stomach wincing as he forced the pain away from him. He could already tell if things kept up like this he would become incomparably stronger and tougher the he was now, he could already feel slightly tougher and he was learning to keep a hold of his feet easier.

Walking back over to Cecilia he straightened out his shirt. "So which mess do you want me to pick up first?" Sarcasm really shouldn't have been used right then and there but he was safe from death for now and so his old personality came back. Looking around he scratched his head beginning to pick up broken pieces that lay strewn about on his path upon arrival of the first crash site he looked around kicking broken pieces of the small craft that had been destroyed looking at the number of people that had been near it when the landing happened. "Alright so... anyone dead yet?"

The pilot was dazed as he was still blanking out. "Pilot, listen........argue with Captain... it...do...you good." He finally was fully awake and heard the rest of what the man spoke. "Just accept what your given...it is for the best, my friend." The pilot blinked several times and stared.
"Whatever just tell us what the hell is going on?" he then scratched himself but then the whole ship started to rock and shake from the impact to the ground. "It looks like we're crash landing...you know what that means! Add to the list of our expertises!" The shaking became worse as the pilot pulled out a pad and a pen and started writing the best he could with what was going on.

He started to write something in the expertise list that said, 'Blowing up airships with plane.' Too bad it was just a bunch of scribbles thanks to what was going on. The ship suddenly came to a grinding halt flinging most of the members and what not. The pilot hit a wall with his back but he was fine. A rod soon appeared in his hands along with a splash of water to his face. He had a sudden realization, it was a plan...a plan that involved purified water, bottles and selling them for a absorbent amount. The pilot sat there wondering what was going on but never before were his thoughts so...sane.
"Oh dear....oh dear, Did I crash into your ship? I am sooo sorry. I don't know whats going on." he looked around and saw something a storm brewing.

Ipso, facto... something... oh, look, a kitten. Hello there, kitten. Will you stay and-- oh, you're going away now. Nevermind then. Doooo, do-do-do-doo do-dooo... Nereids. Nereids... Nereids. NereidsNereidsNereidsNereidsAviansNereids Alalalalalalalaaaa-- CRASH! ...wait a minute. That wasn't supposed to hap-- the engine! We were landing, and I-- Oh,

"SHIIIIIT!!" Awoken from his untimely slumber, Damien rapidly scanned his surroundings, expecting to see burning wreckage and charred corpses. So much for that. It would seem that the good Captain had managed to pull off the landing. But something wasn't quite right. His vision seemed to be distorted by descending white motes. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be snowfall. Not something one expects to see this time of year. Damien quickly rose to his feet, and turned around to face Kel, who seemed to have been trying to drag him somewhere.

"Err, I... might have said some things I... didn't really mean just now. So, uhh... I'll... go and assess the damage! Yeah, assess the damage. Aaaaand later you can let me know what exactly I said. Here's your handkerchief back thank you very much see you later!" And with that, the engineer dashed off, spanner in hand. He couldn't face her at the moment. What had he said while under the influence? The only word he remembered was... nipples.

"SHIIIIIT!!"

Ezra coughed seeing the other mage fly up into the air and then out into the sky. And they were telling her everything was alright? The other mage was gone! The girl coughed just nodding to Ethan as he let her go and walking off to help the pilot. Slowly her mind came back together in time to feel Kairen hold her arm. Ezra looked over at him coming to the conclusion that she wasn’t sure she liked all these men touching her like this. Well they were just protecting her right? Hopefully…

Taking a deep breath the mage finally spoke in a steady voice, “The ship didn’t really get set down…” The girl coughed tapping the man’s arm she went to move away. She was relatively calm now, but mostly it was because of the mediator’s spell. The thought of her being affected by another’s spell though irked the student. Perhaps she should be grateful, but on the other hand he put her skirt on the floor.

Walking over to the pilot, “Um…yes you did.” She coughed really not sure if she should be the one answering him. Moving past those there Ezra bent down in front of the once crazy man who seemed to be calmer, “Can I have that rod please? I should return it to it’s owner once we find him.” It was polite for a mage to hold another mage’s connection to the arcane if for some reason it was severed. At least Ezra thought it was polite, and she wasn’t sure if anyone else here could take special care of it like she could. Gently the woman reached out for the staff hoping the man would just give it to her.

Cecilia, upon the crashing, fell over and got a good whack on the head. She groaned and pushed herself up slowly once they landed, and shook her head, trying to get the planks in her view to stop spinning.

Once she could see properly, she looked up at Lune. "... I like Lunatic better," she said, standing, and touched the impact spot on her head. There was a knot forming, but at least it wasn't bleeding. Concussion, anyone?

"Now listen, smart ass," she said, straightening her skirt and checking for any other injuries, "what I want you to do is follow that medic around." She pointed at Ethan, or in his general direction if he wasn't in view. "You help him. Let him know who's fucked up and where. And be careful - there's plenty of wood to impale yourself on." She blinked, noticing his stomach, and bent down to examine it closely. "... Have him look at your stomach when he's done," she said, and nudged him in that direction.

She looked at the direction Zach was heading. Alright. He was about to chew out whatever idiot slammed into the Isabella. Excellent. She sighed deeply, finally feeling the pain from the knot on her head, and picked her way across the deck and to the head of the ship. She brought up the GPS-type deal, to figure out where they'd crashed.

Mongor Island. Very tropical, but over all very nice. Has been rumors of monsters in the forest areas though. Fantastic. She scratched her head, careful of the bump, and decided she'd better stay in here. She didn't want to see Zach's wrath or get in the way of the imminent scramble to obey his orders.

---------------------------------

Kel, though, was thoroughly freaked out and worried about Damien. After the crash and after being given the jug, for which she said thanks, she was about to try to wake him and have him drink some.

But he woke himself, screaming SHIIIIT, which alarmed her and made her jump. He went on and on - she didn't catch half of it, she was dazed and he was going too fast - so her mouth just opened uselessly as he ran away.

"... But are you alright?" she said quietly, almost to herself as he raced off and out of ear shot. She blinked, and looked around. She sighed and slumped some, then stood, drinking all the water in one great gulp, and running to the cabin to see if she could help. She managed to beat Zach to the former captain's-quarters, so she wasn't aware of the land mine she'd just walked into.

Kairen walked away quickly, understanding that the other members of the ship would be just as confused and disoriented. "I must go help the others, I'll try and be back before the Captain arrives." With those words, the mediator hurried to the enginer room, knowing that Damien was just recently coming out of his healing magic induced coma. The man's long strides carried him to the entrance to the engine room, where Damien was going about his duty as engineer, attempting to get a damage report on the engine room, and how much it would cost to repair.

This was even more great news, given that the Captain never took lightly to such things. Feeling a need to take a moment of Damien's busy schedule, Kairen yelled to him from down the corridor, once more using an inviting tone meant to drive home his words. "Damien! Friend, are you all patched up? That magic didn't knock you for too much of a loop did it? Man, that stuff is pretty potent stuff..." By this time, he had caught up to Damien, not able to stay long due to the matter of the Captain losing his mind and going crazy with rage at the damage done to the Isabella. "Just a peice of advice brother, take your time on that damage report....the captain is probably very.....volatile at this moment. Anyways, I must get back to the crashed pilot...as soon as I can. Farewell, I will speak with you later."

With this, the mediator left, hoping that he would arrive at the Captain's Quarters before Zach did.....

Zach, honestly? Couldn’t have given a shit less if he was sorry or not at the moment. He didn’t care if he was more sane. Zach knew this.

His ship had been crashed into.
His ship had been wrecked.
One or more of his ribs had been broken in said wreck (As the adrenaline wore off, he found this out - quickly).
He was going to have to pay for all of these repairs in the long run.
He was in an unknown place, for the most part. As far as he knew they could be surrounded by people.
A fucking snowstorm was popping out of God damned no where.
And the more he thought about these things the more it pissed him off.

Zach walked into the Captain’s quarters with a hateful look on his face.

“Who did it?” Zach asked, his voice remaining calm other than a small quiver, which was him holding back from simply exploding and cutting the person who did this to his ship into little pieces.

Or assuming that everyone in the room had a part.

Angelo didn’t even have a chance to answer Kel’s question. His head was spinning. Before he could really answer properly, she was gone.

And he could only imagine what devil drove her to the Captain’s Quarters. Someone was about to die in there, at least he had that feeling.

Frowning Julias watched as Kairen walked off. He obviously was caught up helping people, and likely this pilot would need it, and likely the medic, very soon. Ezra had gotten up and was trying to get the Ice mages rod from the somewhat less delirious pilot. Good idea to, if he tried to do something stupid, like say, argue with the captain or pick a fight he’d get ripped apart. Even with his skills with the winds Julias would never think of challenging the captain. In a couple years he probably could, but he wasn’t really interested in the first place. The man was trustworthy and knew his ship inside and out, and better yet usually avoided meddling with his fighter pilots.

As Julias looked around, oblivious as to what his next action should be he finally took in his surroundings for what they were. They were in a crippled ship, full of wounded sailors, and it was snowing. Also what little he’d heard of this area wasn’t exactly good. Especially if you were in the situation they were. If no aid turned up soon they could all be in trouble. And despite his relative skill with magic he was an utterly useless healer. Hopefully someone would notice his dumbstruck expression and relative intactness and give him something to do. He felt very awkward just standing on the splintered deck.

The captain had been approaching his quarters... it was time to leave. Ethan grabbed her hand, walking her out of the room. "Yeah... Ezra... we might want to run along... Captain Zach looks pissed... Plus I still need to check you for any probl-" Zach stood before him, questioning who caused this. Ethan regretfully answered, pointing backwards. "... Sir, you look hurt... here." He gave Zach a dose of his Ethan-ol, hoping it would calm him as well as help any pain he had.

Once out of harms way, he let go of Ezra's hand. " I'm sorry, but I wasn't going to leave you in there with our enraged Captain..." He looked around at the deck at the damage, and to even top it off, it was snowing out. It felt good to feel the snow on his skin. "Alright... who's first...?"

Before Ezra had a chance to take the rod from the pilot Ethan grabbed her hand pulling her away from him. The girl was about to hit the guy with her staff, but then she heard the tone in the captains voice. She instantly pointed to the pilot as Ethan went to drag her away. Perhaps the mage should have stayed to try to reason with the captain but well what reasoning was there with the man?

She pulled her hand away from Ethan coughing, “Uhh…no problem…” Damn it! Her skirt was still in there. Looking back over to the cabin for the first time Ezra noticed it was snowing. She couldn’t feel the flakes on her skin simply because the mage was still wearing Angelo’s Jacket. She looked down at it blinking as the realization that she needed to give back sometime soon. Pushing some of her long dark red hair behind her ear the girl debated on her next move, “Thanks again Ethan…” Perhaps she should find Angelo to give him back his jacket and then figure out a way to help them out in the current situation. The snow though distracted the girl again, “It shouldn’t be snowing here…” It was then she remembered the other mage. “We need to find Nicodemus…” The woman blurted aloud before heading back towards the captain’s quarter’s carefully. Perhaps by the time she snuck back there Ezra would miss the blow up or she would find Kel running out of there. Either way the mage had an idea…

It were simple self musings that past the time back from the dock to where he had left the hostage. His mind was riddled as to what was so special about this young lass that she needed to be caught. Through the contemplation and walk, Rakemund had managed to pick up a well sized stick that was well weighted in proportion and were about the length of his own arm. It's surface smooth, completely removed of it's fragile shell of bark, making it all that easier to play off as a wooden sword. A left wrist flicked here and there, allowing rotation of the newly found weapon and effortless extensions made it all more realistic. The grip on the smooth oaken handle was fastened tightly, something not fitted for play; but there was something about a looming shadow that spread over the forestry to his left.

As for an audible sound that followed the looming shadow, well, it was passed off as just another rutheless ship coming to make dock. The thought never occured to him that there was more afoot than met the eye. Though, Rakemund might have been more enlightened if he had looked the right way - when those sapphire spheres sifted through the mass foliage to find. . The hostage! High amongst the tree and quickly descending. The distance wasn't far, but the heap that laid between them slowed things a bit. Rakemunds' pace picked up to that of a sprint, having to dance and weave around shrubs, trees, and the occasional wire that the bandits had placed where, when the wire was stripped, not only did it slice the tendon(s), but allowed for a small bell to ring at their hideout. But, these things weren't as important as the sudden rush of wind that could be heard from behind. It didn't take long for the dots to connect. The overcasting shadow he paid no mind to, the thundering noise he thought to be a ship docking, and now this rush of wind. The ship was to dock, yes, but not as any of them would have planned.

Well, son of a flying pirate monkey! Was the only thing going through that mind as Rakemund was slammed into the ground after a few feet of flight.

Consumed with fire that made a chest quake in pain was the only thing Rakemund could feel. As for sound, why, that of a ringing bell. The sound was annoying and as clothed palms were to cover them, it was that same fire from earlier that pulsated beneath the right arm. With a wince and some watery eyes from the debris or pain - or both, he eyed the cause. Apparently, there was blood seeping from what Rakemund calculated to be along the second and third rib, extending in 6 inches. Rakemund knew this was a bad situation, especially with the sort of clothing he was wearing, as it clung to the wound, which help prevent further blood loss when it had fully clogged; though, this would lead to blood clots and coagulation which will be hard to deal with in the future. Rakemund beamed, looking, feeling through the dirt-coated air and thrown vegetation to see as to what had done such damage. He uneasily sighed, biting the lower lip. A bandits trip-wire.

"This is a cruel and unjust world you set me in!" He cried. There was still one manner to attend to.

There she was! Lying beneath a thin limb covered with green leaves. Rakemund shakily got to his feet, bringing firm pressure over his own injury. His eyesight seemed to blur and the surroundings seemed to spin, but he quickly adjusted and set one thing in mind. To retrieve the hostage and escape before bad company makes themselves present.

RolePlayGateway is a site built by a couple roleplayers who wanted to give a little something back to the roleplay community. The site has no intention of earning any profit, and is paid for out of their own pockets.

If you appreciate what they do, feel free to donate your spare change to help feed them on the weekends. After selecting the amount you want to donate from the menu, you can continue by clicking on PayPal logo.
