So, folks, it's about time we get something new up and running. I'd like to call it the 'Writing Challenge'. I'll be running it myself, right here in this very mansion we refer to as RPGateway.
The way it Works
Step 1: Once every week, I post a challenge for you. Maybe it'll be a word count challenge, or a topic challenge. An atmosphere challenge, or a character challenge. There's no telling what each new subject will be.
Step 2: You write an entry, and send it to me in a PM.
Step 3: When the week is up, I'll review the submissions, and choose a winner and a second place.
Step 4: I'll post the winner in one thread, and the second place in another. Winners and second-places will receive PMs about the good news.
For now, there are no set-in-stone rules. I simply ask that you follow the general site rules and use common sense.

First Week
Challenge: Use first-person point of view for a character of the other gender. If you are female, the character should be male. If you are male, it should be female.
Reason for this Challenge: I understand it can be hard to really immerse oneself in the storyline, especially when writing from third person. This is why it should be in first person. However, there aren't too many people that step outside of their boundary lines and write as the opposite sex. While still allowing for a bit of comfortable wiggle-room, I'm trying to familiarize you with writing from another kind of perspective.
Word Limit: 1,200 words
Word Requirement: 450 words
Due Date: Friday, 9/17/10
Too bad love is just a game.
But, I've had too much fun playing to quit now.
Maybe I'm addicted.
I don't think I care.
My tokens are all across the board...
And I'm winning.
