THE XERSIST WRITERS CLUB

(club name still in development)

Hey Everybody, I was just thinking about doing a club. I kind of started a fan club but then I thought for a moment. Hey this isn't me, I'm not a ego freak, I don't look for people to admire me just cuss I say so. I at least want to do something for my respect. So Rather than just saying it, I'm doing it. In doing this I also hope to end these dumb fan clubs that are only meant to worship somebody else. The Club name will change I just don’t have a good name yet.

In this club there are no real rules, just be cool and lax. Your application is important though, needing some kind of writing that has some kind or depth of personal beauty.

The club's only goal is to set a standard for writers in RP-gateway. Of curiosity, understand, support and respect. Think of it as RP-gateway's Freemasons. Not really out to do one thing, but to help the community as a whole.

While some of you might ask, why. I just say why not. I always like to create things and let them run seeing if they will lead to some kind of good. If you want a general answer I got one too. Just like not everyone can't be a moderator, or an Admin, Just like in the real world not everyone can be a cop, but they call still be part of the Freemasons or the Town Watch.

Now you can come and go as you please, just let me know if you’re jumping ship. I'm going to keep this first page on the update at all times. So watch out. The first page will have a membership list, maybe officers and positions, if this gets big enough.

I hope this site can also be a resource as well, putting up on the second post and info sheet, about topics, ideas, active role-plays of interest, many things.

General Rules- Not really followed, but there needs to be an idea of order

1. Support fellow members, even when they are wrong do not try and diss them. Just tell them how they can improve
2. Never Bash, Attack, Persecute any roleplayers, they are trying to have fun, don't ruin it for them.
3. Must be involved in at least one Role play game.
4. Have the social maturity of a Young adult, Having fun is great, but a least be thoughtful and have a higher level of thinking.
5. Do not spam this site with links to other roleplayes without good reason. (Pm me first)

Club perks
- I can only think of one thing right now, and that is that I will make a custom membership sig for each member,

Meetings- If you have a mic connected to the computer then this will work.

If you want to get on board with the meetings, just download Team speak online. Its Free, quick and easy.
Once you've got that, connect to the rpgateway.com server. I'm on there almost every night 9-2pm Central Standard, though this may change later one. Please use your current tag when filling out the nickname section.

Meeting will be on Tues or Thursday starting at 9 Pm C.S., during the summer. Which ever gets the most members.

At the meeting, there might be plains or ideas coming up, but not every meeting needs to have a points, it’s just a good way for people to hang out.

Joining- If you want to join post below or Pm me. Please make at least a paragraph long section about anything, but it needs to be good and thoughtful. If its just shear crap I’ll ignore it. Remember, the sooner you get here the better chance of you getting a major role in the club.

Jut for the record, Xersist, the fan club thing between me and Vexar was all in good fun. >_> I don't expect people to worship me, and Vexar never expected people to worship him. I hope that's not what people thought. :/

As for your club, I think it's a fantastic idea. I love the random inspiring things you do around the site from time to time.

I do have a question...is staff allowed to be involved? From your first post, it makes it seem like it's just for people who aren't staff. I'm just curious.

And I want you guys to know that although staff has certain powers to be able to maintain the site, our main goal is to try to encourage members. But, the members are the true inspiration. Without you guys, staff wouldn't be necessary. You guys aren't as powerless as you think. Colored names and cool titles don't make us better than anyone. We're just here to make sure your experience is as good as it can possibly be.

Sounds like a good idea, if you don't get some spammers who think it a good oppurnity to display some mediocre writing as their version of "good". I'd be interested in joining, though I'm still mildly perplexed as to how one actually joins. Is it just a simple show of how you write, regarding any subject you feel like, or what ?

Naaa, Mel that was a joke, but i found it to be meaningless. Usually a fun club is that and not just a simple sign of allegiance, to one party or another. Here there are no parties, not yet. (But you know, somewhere in the depths on a basement, there is an idol with your face on it, and some man is bowing and giving it offering everyday.At least with my club, Im not the main thing.)

Ahh Gee well thanks Mel about the idea things, I get bored alot, and I really like to make things. Usually socially noble things, if you get my meaning.

Well Generally No, I mean what is the point in that, Unless an Admin or Mod is feeling left out that's something they need to take up with their uppers. But I cant say no, cause everyone can join, I'm leaving that open and clear. Yes Mod and Adms can join, but I do see it rather odd. But I would love for you to come Mel. Just don't think for some reason that cuss your a mod that I'm giving you any special treatment. In here everybody is on the level, unless the rules are broken, then you can do what you got tot do. What I mean is that our club is like a lesser Mod group, in that we have no powers, but all the same goals. So why would a mod or admn want to join a lesser form of itself.

Ohh and about the powers and name, No its nothing like that, I just find that some people like to group up and talk about what they like. Its not a matter of what we are lacking, but what we can gain by acting as a group,rather than one person acting out a random agenda. Everyone can be independent, but they can also know that someones got their back.

Ok, now to Sel, Yes, anything is up for grabs in your paragraph, but let it have some kind of meaning, something that matters to you as a writer. It can be about anything, but it needs to be XWC worthy (if the name still stands). All you got to do is put it in, it can be anything longer than a paragraph, and yes anything. Well the reason I felt it to be wierd was that this seems to be a moders set up without any of the modding powers, we just want to have a good level of writing skill as a group. So seeing that someone would want to join a lesser form of what he/she is already apart of kind of puzzles me.



Oh and Just to let new people wanting to join, Our First Meeting will be Today after 9 pm Central. Were gonna talk about mostly is the name of the club, goals, idea anything about the club in general.

Hmmm, assuming that you're taking that quality thing seriously I'd be interested. As far as the paragraph goes what on? I've got a 2000 word two part RP post I could cram down your throat, unless you had something else in mind. XP I also have a mic and webcam, though I've never tried downloading teamspeak. Any specifics we should know about the download? And you doubled up on main post, by the way.

P.S. Netplayers(EU) or speakeasy(US)? And should I download all 4 things?

Almost anyone can use it, MAC PC LINUX, all you got to worry about is connection quality. Right now the rpgateway.com site is down so you might have to use the EVE sight. The serial code is

This is an EVE Teamspeak channel, so you need to put <COSIN> infront of your nickname. There might be there just say you were only roleplay. Well only use this site when the other is down.

Allright, Well Hyde try to jump on Teamspeak when you can.

Since as far as I can tell the teamspeak thing kinda....died....how about we discuss here a bit? Here's a random list of junk I thought up to ask you:

1, Will we have a form of in club ranking of RPing skills? If only to inspire competitiveness?

2, How about high quality and well thought out RPs for members of this club only? This would increase interest in the club and give us a decent RP crowd.

3, Chatroom for the club, probably on surreal chat. We can all get at it easy, and it's a good place to chat.

4, Monthly RP competitions. As in we display our best work of the month, using a link to that actual forum of course XP. This would either be judged by the whole group or by the higher ups.

5, As far as promotion's go I think you need to be careful with this. It'd suck to end up with people of lower rank being better and more qualified than those above them and we just don't swap em because we've got too many higher ups and don't want to demote.

6, Other people start talking!!!!

I agree with most (if not all) that Hyde said, especially the 1. 4. and 5. parts. If you even want to start a sort of ranking system, then I suggest that you wait a while for people to join, unless a greatly eminent member pops up from the start, who simply cannot be bested. As for the chat, it's a fairly good idea, for those who have the time and whatnot. But seriously, we mustn't let this go overboard, too much ranking and eliteness would be bad. We've gotta keep it friendly and all that.

I'm also against indulgence. If someone doesn't meet the standards, give him or her a few more chances, and then they're out, same thing goes for people who are already members. If they screw up, they get kicked out. It's harsh, but a semblance of quality could thus be kept. Anyway, I'll have my post up by today, and hopefully this thing will grow.

Yes Teamspeak was a flop today, hence the mic issues, but we will have it again at rpgateway.com server. We will try it for next Tuesday, hopefully we will get more members.
