Toy Story 3 ( )

Postby KaylaxInxWonderland on Sun Jun 20, 2010 1:16 pm

**SIDE NOTE: If you haven't seen Toy Story 3 yet and WANT to, I strongly reccamend not reading this topic- considering there'll probably be a lot of spoilers**

Hey did anyone else see Toy Story 3? How'd you think it was?
Personally, I feel my childhood is complete.
I realized, that in all my years on this earth..
I have never sobbed so much in a movie theatre. No joke, either.
Definetly one of the most dramatic, intense, heartfelt movies I've ever seen.
What'd you guys think?

Personally, I thought Toy Story 3 was amazing. It was a great finish and usually movies don't so good on either sequels or even third movies. The movie was so well-thought through, and I even liked 3 better than 2. I cried towards the end, and a lot of times it made me jump a little from my seat, laugh, and any emotion I can feel. It was just great. xD

I agree. The movie itself touched something in me that I thought Toy Story would never touch. Of course, growing up with all the characters, people tend to get attached. Considering it is my absolute favorite cartoon of all time, that's saying something, cause I was kinda worried about this movie when I heard it was coming out.
It had everything. :D
I would cross a thousand miles for you. I would climb mountains and swim oceans just to be with you. And if you cried, I would be there to make things better. But if I said I love you, would you laugh and turn your back on me? Would you take advantage of my love then break my heart when you were finished? Or would you hold me in your arms and say Ditto?

It did have everything! And more, too
What I thought was gonna happen was that at the end they'd all go in the attic, and then years later Andy would have kids and give the toys to them- but it took a slightly unexpected turn for me- that scene where Andy was giving them to the little girl and when he got to play with them one last time..THATS where I broke down.
I saw 2012, and only shed a few tears. TOY STORY 3, HOWEVER, IS A WAAAY DIFFERENT STORY. I hadn't cried like that in ever.
It kinda tugged at my heartstrings that Andy was out of the picture- but then I thought "Well, if they stayed up in the attic for that long, chances are they'd get all ripped and rusty over time and then they wouldn't be able to be played with at all.." So I guess the fact that they'd be played with by someone who'd use them for a while was a reedeeming factor- and then maybe the little girl would have a little brother or kids of her own to give them to after she was done with them..<3

Pixar, at this point, is Always spot on. Up, Wall E, Ratatouille... All their recent work has been gold, and they're only getting better. I loved how this movie in particular didn't even feel like a sequel, it was that original and interesting. They know just how to make conflict real and gripping, while retaining a balance between childish (though admirable) humor and deeper, more complex emotions and situations. It's never too heavy or too light, just fascinating and fun; enough to make you laugh on the way out and think about the big stuff on the way home. And the characters... I don't know, it could just be the time in between when I saw the first two and this third movie, but I feel like they really grew into interesting personalities; characters that were even more memorable and real.

Just got back from seeing it in 3D.

Okay, so here's my judgment. I think it was a LITTLE hyped, but . . . I did sob like a bitch, so whatever. ;)

All I gotta say is John Lasseter is a genius when it comes to storytelling. Pixar has always been able to put great feature animations out since the start. When I first heard that Disney bullied them into making Toy Story 3 I was a bit worried for the end result but they really pulled it off. Loved the storyline, loved the animation, I don't really know what else to say. I think one of my favorite things about it were the few Easter eggs that I noticed throughout the film (such as various shots of Pixar shorts shown on the TV when they're flipping through the channels fast and the Luxo lamp making yet another comeback :) Gotta love that). Yahoo actually had an article about it and made me realize that I missed even more of them than I noticed. Oh well. We're going to see it again at some point soon so I'll be keeping an eye out. Hopefully the ending won't make me cry too much again.

OMG. Me, my mom, and my dad were all sobbing by the end.
The monkey was creepy, though...like...that monkey was some scary crap.
But I loved it. It's rare that I like sequels, much less third movies, but I loved this. I just hope they don't do Toy Story 4...that would be horrid, probably! >.<
Absolutely genius, though.
I ended up buying a Woody and a Buzz because of it, actually. :P

I have to say, every time Pixar makes a film, they get it spot on each time. The Toy Story films always have and always be my favorite childhood films, plus it was so touching I wanted to cry when they were going towards the furnace, and the thought of woody leaving them was also a bit too much for me to handle :p

It was an awesome film and I think the messages behind it for friendship is something that every child can take away from them.

Plus, I'm glad that Lotso got what he deserved :D

I have watched all three of these movies, and I have to say, I was expecting the ending to be Andy giving them to his kids later on down the road. But the ending that was there was worth it too--after all, what more do toys want then to be played with? I cried at the end, it was incredibly touching, a lot like most of the Disney and Pixar movies are. It was in true Disney and Pixar style.

And knowing Woody and the gang, they'll likely have more adventures with the new kid. I was tempted to bring out my Woody and Buzz that I've had since the first movie and watch it with them just like old times when I would sit down to watch the original movie with them.

But toys do not always get ripped and rusty when they are not used for a long time. My mom has a lot of stuffed animals and old Barbie dolls that I used to play with that are old, but none of them are ripped--they were all perfectly intact when I first pulled them out to play with. They might get ripped more easily, yes, but if they're stored in a place that doesn't get moths or anything like that, then they'll be fine. You just have to be a bit more careful with them then you would new toys.

I will add that I think Buzz's "Spanish mode" was hilarious. I nearly died laughing almost the entire time during the "Spanish mode". It made me wonder if he had any other modes. I could imagine a "Russian mode" making him cross his arms and kick his feet in front of him in a Russian dance. Or an "Irish mode" making him do a jig with an Irish accent.

And I agree that Lotso definitely got what he deserved. Just like the Prospector in the second one, nothing really bad happened to him, but he got what was coming to him.

As to making a fourth one... I doubt they will, not after Andy leaving. I think they mean to leave it off at that. If they do make a fourth one, it would rather disappoint me, because it should be left here and not continue any further.

I liked it, but i cant say i cried, because i didn't. But then movies and books very rarely make me cry. I know people that say they did cry but i just don't get what gets people so emotional about it.
I remember the first time i ever cried from reading something was when i was reading a book about King Arthur's knights and one of the knights' story got me teary. It was one of the one's who's name starts with a P (i think there are two and i can only recall Percival, it might have been him but i don't remember, i was like maybe 10
