Arian didn't move, she understood his fear, but she couldn't think of a single way to comfort him. This wasn't meant to be a wonderland, there was hardly an up side to what he was about to live through, and it seemed as if not even she would be of much help. And if he didn't learn to either get used to this way of living or simply pretend for the time being she wouldn't be able to free him.
Arian's blue gaze fell onto the small girl whom she had told to get ice. She bowed her head respectfully at Arian, handing her bagged ice that was wrapped in a cloth. Arian took it, softly thanking her. She held it out to Dorian, figuring he was old enough to put ice on his own bruise. Deep in though she stood and looked around the room.
She wondered lightly if Rebecca was right, maybe Dorian might really take her place. Though she wasn't afraid of it, and it wouldn't be too large of a shock, it would mean the she couldn't help others escape. She frowned at the idea but quickly shook it off, deciding the she would make good use of the time she had. She smiled at Dorian,
"Hang in there alright?"
She moved her gaze to Rebecca and smiled softly at her.
"I'm going to retire to my chambers now."
Arian turned and walked off, her gaze was on her feet as she crossed the room, even as she went up the stairs. She tried desperately to think of what she would do if Dorian replaced her, there were slaves in other mansions that wouldn't have her help either, she would be a great letdown for a lot of people. Raising her head enough to see the handle of her door she turned it and pushed it open. She lifted her head fully as she stepped inside, she reached a hand around to her back and pulled one of the strings loose to her corset and reached to pull another free but froze in the middle of her action. This wasn't her room, while she was so deep in thought she must have walked too far down the corridor and gone into -
"What are you doing in here?"
She strong male voice confirmed her suspicions and she was grateful that her back was to the rest of the room cause her eyes were as big a saucers.
She had accidentally gone into the Master's chambers.
