Tonight Bloody Mary would not be graced with the presence of its owner, much to the staff's relief. While her wounds had fully healed, her memories had not. The memories of Murdoch's basement still haunted her. She could still remember the pain of sunlight, the smell, and how it had drove her to a point of wanting to give up, and die. Alexis would shake her head every time to wipe the thoughts from her mind. No, she she really did want to live...if that's what you would even call this. Just over two hundred years of existence she'd never been alone, her maker always at her side, until now. Perhaps it was time to start getting used to it. She still hadn't spoken to Léonide since that night. They were both stubborn, or maybe their silence was all they needed to prove that some time away might do them some good. Besides, she only had an eternity to talk to him.
Not dressing in her usual 'vampire clothes' she normally wore to Bloody Mary, Alexis changed into a pair of jeans and a black sweater. With her long blonde hair down over her shoulders, she almost looked...human. As she stepped out onto the front deck of her house, Alexis paused as she looked around. Instincts and routine told her to see Léonide, to suck up her pride and just go. But she really wasn't sure how she would feel if she went there, and he was gone. And that house-keeper of his was one of the strangest men she'd ever met, if you could even call him that. No, she'd just play the coward card tonight and find something else to do.
Just off in the distance, Alexis could hear loud music, and laughter. Sounds like someone was having a party, and there was a good number of them. Unable to stop the smile coming through on her lips, the first one in a while, quick footsteps lead Alexis down the porch and into the trees toward the drunken laughter. But something in the air made Alexis freeze, her whole body stiff and her eyes wide. The smell was...familiar. Just one little hint of it brought back the memories once again of Murdoch's basement. She was on the ground, crying and pleading for her maker, but something delayed him. Or someone. It was this very scent that Alexis could sense in Murdoch's house. This human had been there. This human was the reason she almost died. With balled fists and a clenched jaw, a low growl escaped from her throat as her feet picked right back up again. She wanted to see what was so important, what threatened over two-hundred years of bond.
The closer she could feel herself moving to this human, the more hungry Alexis became. Perhaps she should have fed, or had a bottle of TruBlood before she stepped outside. She didn't plan on feeding off of the human, but there was no telling really what she would do in her current state of mind, and hunger.
Finally, after reaching a clearing, Alexis stopped once more when she found the human directly in path in front of her. If the girl didn't look up, she'd nearly run right into her since she'd been so quiet. With her head tilted down, she'd look down at the young girl, studying her. Both hands were at her sides as her blue eyes studied with curiosity and wonder. Even with the girl soaking wet, freezing, Alexis could still sense the heat radiating from her body, her heart pounding in her chest. If Alexis' heart still beat, hers would probably be doing the same thing at the moment.
"You," was all she said, her voice so low as she kept her movements slow, for the girl's benefit. Slowly, her hand reached forward to her hair, her fingers curling around a few wet strands as her eyes never tore away from her. "So, you're the one who the big fuss is about. Interesting." Alexis Ashford wasn't the most frightening vampire in the world, and to prove that, she smiled. "Tell me your name."
