In the land of Khalrian everything seems fine on the outside. However, everyone who lives there knows of alliances and shaky truces. With a land on the brink of war, everyone is watching their backs. The fear of betrayal is ever present and the royals are giving suspicious glances at one another. There are four nobel families of the land. For this cause, the land is divided into five sanctions. To the East lie the family of Safonia. To the North, the Lakai. In the west the family of Feron and to the South lie the Zuav. The royals themselves own land int he middle of the territories. The royals have mingled blood and know it. The nobels each claim to be of true blood, decended down from the Gods. Tentions build. Lords are fighting for truces and count their men for war. One family, the Lakai, are a family of tratiors seeking the throne. They have royal blood and want the crown saying the current rulling family are frauds.

War had ensued upon the land between the familes. The Lakai has influnces in the royal family and do their best to destroy it. The Lakai family also have a son that would most likely take the throne, but does he even want it? Does he yearn for the throne and power over the land like his parents? Or is he looking beyond the crown at distant lands and adventure? His mind is young and open. His path is not set. What will he do?

This is slightly based of the Kushiel's series, but I have not read all the books and this will not play out like them since I haven't read them. Now that the introduction had been ensued, I ask for players. Anyone interested in doing this? It is open to discussion as well. If anyone wants to add something, feel free ^^

I'd like to think that I've proved myself as a literate RPer, though our tags have admittedly been a little short. I tend to go off the length of my partner's post, so that's why. As for your setup, I don't see any problems with it. I haven't even heard of the books that you're talking about, so what do I know? 83

I should to be able to post at least once a day, if not more, and I don't think I've ever been considered illiterate. I can play whatever gender or character is needed as well. Sorry, I don’t have too many plot ideas yet. I’m assuming since the families are descended from the gods that there will be some form of magic or powers. Would the RP have any type of mythological influences?

I'm interested. I've only read the first of the Kushiel books, so I'm glad it won't be played out like them. I wouldn't want to have the story ruined for me, haha. But anyway, I'm literate and can post once a day, if not more. I just joined this site, but I'm an experienced roleplayer, and I've never had any negative comments about my literacy or lack thereof.

I've got some sort of ideas, although they're more in the line of questions that will lead to developed ideas... Are players going to have to be members of one of the families, or can they be non-noble/royal types? Do the four (five, I guess, if you count the royal house) families have any special traits that they're known for? For instance: a military family, a trade/merchant family, a more secluded family, etc. Is there any sort of magic in this roleplay, and if so what kinds? Are there any non-human races, and if so which ones? Is the only family actively seeking the throne the Lakai? And that's about it. I don't expect answers for all that mess, just throwing out things that'll help to think about (I hope).

Hello and welcome Jorick! With your interest I will finally put up the ooc. I will gladly answer your questions as well. I must admit that some of those I have been asking myself! The players will be part of the families but some can be soldiers or civilans if that is what they wish. As for the traits, I leave that up to the players of that house. I am hoping there is a bit of magic but that is still open. Any ideas for that? There will be no non-human races in this one. All the families want the throne or are helping the Lakai. That will be played out in the roleplay as part of the plot.

As for this being like the series, I hope it wont be like that! I only read part of the first one. Still reading it. So no worries! There will be no spoilers (I hope?). Thanks for the questions! The role play will be explained more in detail in the OOC. The role play however is very open. Things can change and there is no direction of the role play. It is decided by the players. The plot however, will remain.

By the way, the ooc will either come up a little later this morning or tonight. Probably tonight for I am getting ready to go somewhere.
