never let her get one.
General: Lina has the definite figure of a dancer; graceful and lithe. With light curvaceousness, and a waist that dips in like an hour glass and practically no hips whatsoever, she is also considered tall by some. Her skin tone is even, if not on the more pale side. The generous amount of auburn hair she has cascades a good few inches past her collar bone, and it is on the more thick side, forming in slight curls. Her face forms a bit of an oval shape, with visible cheekbones when she smiles as well as the indentation of innocent dimples; she inherited them from her father. Her umber-hued eye brows naturally arch, but not too much, as she's never really done much to shape them. Her eyes are a soft brown, with flecks of gold here and there, and are bordered by pale but rather long lashes. Her nose is somewhat small and feminine, and sometimes when she laughs and smiles her nostrils will flare, giving her the nickname "bunny" by her brother. Her soft pinkish lips are neither too full, nor thin, and frame a dentally-adjusted, whitened smile.

General: Lina has a loving, gentle disposition, despising conflict and drama of any sort and trying the best she can to avoid it. She is careful, and sometimes too much so, protecting what is hers; you may consider her possessive, but not in an extreme way. She has never been very good at arguing, usually the one to give in and be what her mother called the "peace-maker". She can be rather quiet, giving off the impression she is introverted, but once you begin to get to know her you will find that she loves to laugh and enjoy herself, even if it's not in the wild ways some of her peers do. Lina has never been a social bee, as her dance took up a good amount of her time, so she only has a few close friends, although she is
known by plenty more. She has never been the strong one, and is definitely more of a follower than a leader, to her misfortune. The only place she is truly herself is on stage, in the throes of her pirouettes.
Family: Evangeline Julianna is the daughter of Rebecka and Alex Smithson. They met in high school, although they didn't even consider dating until by coincidence they were accepted into the same college. They began their relationship sophomore year; he was studying criminal justice, and she was studying fashion and interior design. It started getting serious when junior year rolled around, and they considered moving in together, which ended up happening within the next six months. At the end of their senior year, Alex proposed to Rebecka while they were on spring break with their group of friends. He pulled the classic put-the-ring-around-the-bread-stick trick, but it ended up going horribly wrong when she took a bite without looking and started chewing on the engagement band.
After twelve blissful months of marriage, Rebecka found out she was pregnant. The apartment they were in was too small, so they looked into buying a house. They found a three bedroom house with a spacious kitchen and a cozy living room, and they were set. The $1500 a month was definitely worth it. Nine months later, out popped Taylor David Smithson, Lina's older brother. He seemed fine. They took him home, back to the nursery Rebecka had decorated herself. Everything seemed to be going well. He was a spunky kid, loved to wrestle and have fun. They didn't start noticing anything out of the ordinary until he was five. By this time, Lina was three years old. Tay was having frequent nosebleeds, and they would find bruises all over him. They took him into the doctor, where they ran a few tests; he came back positive for leukemia. The Smithsons were devastated.
When Tay was ten and Lina was eight, their mom's sister Janice came to live with them. She stayed in attic, which had been renovated so it could be a guest quarters anyway. She was a dance instructor herself when she lived in Chicago, and she is the one who got Lina into ballet.
Birth date: June 30th
Religion: Charismatic Christian
Life Goal: Change someone's life.
Crush: Shhh, it's a secret.
History: Evangeline Julianna Smithson came into the world on a warm summer night, after hours of labor that Rebecka Smithson endured with no pain medications. She was on this new "all-natural" kick. They named her Evangeline because it was her grandmother's name, and she had been a large influence in Rebecka's life. Lina was a healthy baby, with a good heartbeat, fully developed lungs and all the other fortunate perks that came with a newborn. They took her home about two days after the birth. Lina slept in her parents' room, in a portacrib until she was five months old. That was when they
tried to have her sleep in her own room... but it didn't necessarily work. She refused to sleep anywhere but in the crib beside her mom and dad's bed.
When she was just a toddler, Taylor was diagnosed with leukemia. She didn't have to give him blood or anything of the sort, because they were different blood types. But that made everything harder. Prayer was a daily thing in the Smithson house, not just for Tay but for all their other needs. Lina grew up in a Christian environment, but not necessarily a "sheltered" one. Her parents let her make her own decisions, saying it was between her and God. She never really thought anything of her religion until she was older. Lina was homeschooled from the time she was in kindergarten, all through seventh grade. She started wanting to go to public school, because it was where all of her dance class friends went. Her parents agreed, and she started school in eighth grade, and would continue through highschool.
She didn't realize the load of stress and work that came with doing public school all week, and dance on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. She managed to maintain a B+ average, with the help of her dad. They found out the reason she was struggling in so many of her classes was because she had dyslexia. This realization caused her to have to work extremely hard, and have a personal tutor help her during the week. When she entered highschool, she kept that fact on the down-low.
Her freshmen year, she met Sheyn and Daniella. Since they were friends, she simply hung out with both of them... when she
could. They were some of the only girls in the school that bothered talking to her, as she sort of flew under the radar. They weren't the closest of friends, but hey, it was something, right? Lina excelled in her dance throughout the next two years, until she had an accident where she hurt her ankle, and had to take a rest from ballet for a while. She is currently in "therapy" with her aunt, trying to get back into the dancing routine.
