Unbeknown to Syaoran and the others, the Dimension Witch: Yuuko has predicted Fai's death is near. After some sort of accident that he can remember not a single detail from, Fai wakes up in a strange world with familiar faces all around him and injuries of drastic proportions. What's worse is that none of the others seem to know anything about traveling through the dimensions in search of Sakura's memories. There is no magic, there is no Yuuko, there is no escaping this frighteningly ordinary world, but Fai must find a way to return to his friends before it's too late and he can't say goodbye...
In Tokyo, Fai is unconscious after a very difficult battle and regardless of their efforts, the blond won't respond to anyone's words or actions. It appears he is in a coma and, though there has been talk of leaving him behind to find Sakura's memories, Kurogane might not be able to handle doing such a thing. Especially if Fai finally returns to consciousness once they're gone...
[[The idea is that the world that Fai is trapped in is a dream in his own mind while on the 'outside' where Kurogane and the others are is reality. Fai was/is injured seriously and could very well die, so Kurogane gets to show some 'true' feelings! xD]]

“Fai Flourite’s time in this existence is coming to an end.” Yuuko spoke fluidly to Watanuki as she sat on a porch, overlooking a garden that seemed to have been planted on the moon. In the background, the Earth floated eerily, giving the setting a sort of mysterious air. Hearing her speak, Watanuki turned his eyes on his mistress and blinked.
“But Madame-“ he started, but she held a hand up to silence him. She had not finished speaking and thus did not want to be interrupted.
“Every living thing must cease to exist at some point or another, Watanuki.” She spoke gently, holding Modoki in her arms, stroking the coal creature’s ears gently. “For Fai, his traveling from dimension to dimension has shortened his lengthened life span. The essence of his world that was allowing him to remain living has vanished with its bestower, Ashura.” Watanuki’s face grew saddened as he stared at the dimension witch. Her own gaze remained on Modoki as he spoke up.
“But Yuuko-San, Fai is a vampire.” She nodded here and her eyes lifted to meet his own. She was not smiling, but giving a cool look.
“He is, but this does not promise immortality, does it? It saved his life, yes, because Vampires are a stronger breed of monster than Fai was at the time… His own essence has been eaten away by the sinister power that comes with being a vampire. Coupled with the extinguishing of Ashura’s own power over Fai… it will not be long before he succumbs to death.”

Heaving himself up in the bed that he was in, wherever they had ended up, Fai looked around at a beautifully well-furnished room. It was dark in the room still, but this did not hinder his sight much as his gold gaze flicked from an antique dresser to a full-body mirror in the corner of the room. He was sitting in a canopied four-poster and it all seemed a little too… eloquent… for him.
When his eyes snagged on a figure sitting in another corner of the room, a smile crossed his features as the blond caught sight of Kurogane. He was asleep, sitting backwards in a chair with his head and arms resting on the backrest. Something in his sleeping face gave Fai the feeling that he had been waiting for him to awaken and he couldn’t help but pull back the blanket to swing his legs over the edge of the plush mattress. Bare feet hit a wood floor and, though it was cold, it did not feel bad as he started walking slowly.
Halfway to Kurogane, he passed the mirror and caught sight of himself in it. He was in pants and a loose, button-down shirt. The patch over his left eye stood out very darkly against the bandages wrapped around his head and he had to stop for a moment.
“What happened?” he mumbled to himself and realized that it was hard to stay balanced when he tried to speed up his pace. When he finally stumbled into the chair and rocked it, Kurogane jerked himself up and fixed wide, red eyes on Fai for a moment before they softened and he reached up to touch his cheek.
“You’re awake.” Fai blinked at him and cocked his head into the others palm.
“What happened?” Gold orb stared at reds and Fai sank onto the floor beside the chair, looking up at the other in earnest. Kurogane stared down at him and both of his hands found the blondes face and he spoke carefully.
“You were in an accident.” Fai blinked in confusion and his hands came up to pull the hands away.
“Accident? What do you mean? Where’s Syaoran? Where’s Sakura?!” he was becoming excited and Kurogane gave him a mild stare.
“They’re fine… They’re both fine… You need to get back in bed.” Fai shook his head as the brunette took up his arm and picked him up as if he couldn’t walk.
“Kuro-Chan-“ he tried as he was set back on the bed, but the brunette hushed him by inspecting the bandages wrapped around his head.
