It is a curious thing, how I see beauty in death rather than life.
The stillness of a body,
skin translucent with colorful veins seemingly floating to the surface.
The whisper of a last breath,
the vivid red of blood like roses pooling around them.
Yes, death is beautiful.

Or perhaps I am simply jealous?

ImageAs children we romanticized the idea of magic; making moving pictures painted with beautiful fairies and exquisite beings influenced by the colorful illustrations depicted in history books. Witches were wicked, they said, wizards would enchant girls into falling in love with them and then eat their hearts. The movies twisted these stories, selling the idea that with a few magic words and the wave of a wand, one could change their fate entirely. Such ideas weren't foreign, the wealthy had always had the resources to pour their efforts into searching for spells that could grant eternal life or cure ailments that the poor suffered from day in day out. Witches they called them and the old families suffered, burning at the stake, at the hands of the very ones who had so romanticized the idea off magic. In order to protect themselves, the wealthy hid their abilities. They used their magic in only the most subtle of ways to keep themselves in power, passing down their secrets from generation to generation. They lived in constant fear of being discovered and persecuted and so, using their influence, they built a wall to separate the wealthy from the common people.

ImageWhat became of the rest of humanity? Without the use of spells to keep them youthful, they used technology and science, developing medicines that were regulated by the government and using the internet for just about everything. They made strides in their advancements, protecting their territories with large robots that could be operated via a pair of humans. The more advanced they grew, the less of a need for magic there was. People once more, began to fear magic, they thought witches to be demons hiding in the bodies of their loved ones. After all, their abilities had no place in this world. Their very existence became illegal. In some cases, they were seen as sick and in need of healing. Others saw them as nothing more than trophies that could be exchanged for necessary resources. As the world continued down the road of supposed advancement; those with the old gifts of magic continued to hide in plain sight, disguising themselves as normal humans. To prove that they were not evil, that magic was not to be feared, one girl took upon the burden of taking up a name to fight against evil on her own, perhaps with the occasional assistance of her trusty servant.

☞ All of the content in this RP is original, from layout to bio sheet. I made everything from scratch and it was a painstakingly slow process. If it resembles any of your work I'm sorry, but I have three people who can attest to the fact that I have only gone between the same two tabs and one of them was youtube. ☜

☞ If you're thinking of joining purely to alleviate temporary boredom and have no plans to finish your character or ever reply DO NOT JOIN. If I know you to be one of those people I will reject your reservation through PM. ☜

☞ Congratulations on making it to the first password! Please name me one song from the Imagine Dragons, Smoke and Mirrors album. ☜

☞ Proper grammar, spelling, and proofreading is required at all times. If English is not your first language that's fine, simply do your best and don't forget to proofread. ☜

☞ Anime face claims only, I apologize to those who don't watch anime or are simply pissed off by the fact that I don't like real face claims. If you need help finding one I suggest Tumblr, animecharacterdatabase, or simply PMing me with a description of what you want them to look like. ☜

☞ As far as species goes you have two options. You can either choose from the list above, or provide your own. This brings me to the second part of the password! State your species and the role you'd like to reserve in the OOC along with your face claim. ☜

☞ Again if you have no intention of ever replying, DO NOT JOIN. There is a minimum of two replies per week. If you can't do it, please PM me as to why. If you can or if you'd like to reply more frequently, that's great! ☜

☞ You must submit your WIP within 48 hours, if you are a no show after that I will give away your spot. Once your WIP is submitted you have five days to finish. ☜

☞ You will receive three warnings if you do anything to upset the balance. Once you strike three you're out and your character will be eaten as the vampire's next feast or will become the hunter's next kill without warning. Thank you for your sacrifice. ☜

☞ If you simply disappear without warning and find that I've killed off your character, please PM me as to why you were gone. If you have a good enough reason then we can discuss something. If you reply with, "I didn't feel like replying for a whole two weeks." I won't bother responding to your PM. ☜

☞ Plot will be discussed in the OOC. There are a few main points I will outline. Most of the characters will already know each other, but you won't be required to fill out a Character Relationship sheet. It is optional although highly recommended. ☜

❝They say that cats are angels with whiskers.❞

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#A4D3EE ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя #FFADB9

|| Be Brave || Owl City ||

Clover was laying on the floor, the bedroom destroyed. Fiyero was panting, Khyria too, sprawled across the ground. The two of them had tried to make Clover take a bath, but upon touching the water, the cat had sliced open Fiyero's shirt, clearly still detesting the water. "You have to take a bath!" Khryia had said, falling into the tub. As a result, all three of them had bathed and Clover not a happy camper. They had to hold her down afterwards in order to brush her hair, the long silky fur done up in twin tails, ribbons decorating each one. They had, had to wrestle her into clothes too, the kitten now at least wearing under garments. Khyria alone had to take on that task, knowing that Erika wouldn't be happy if Fiyero tried to assist in dressing a nude kitten.

After seeing to the wounds on his chest, Fiyero left to retrieve dinner and the sleeping medicine, hoping that the ritual would be complete soon. As fun as it was to have a large, wild, cat, Fiyero was tired of taking damage to his otherwise immaculate form. He peeled himself up from the floor, going to the main building to see if it was ready. Clover was pacing once more, clearly unhappy about something, but no one could tell what. "It's okay, Erika will be back soon," Khyria reassured her, reaching out to pat Clover's head. The kitten bat her hand away, growling menacingly. "Clover, no, bad!" Water sprayed the white haired cat in the face and she hissed, backing up into the bed.

Fiyero returned with the tray, pouring the medicine over the seafood that Mallier had bought for dinner. Clover darted out from underneath the bed, chowing down hungrily. "If you were hungry, you should have just said so," Clover grabbed the tray, taking it underneath the bed to eat. There were two moments when an animal was at its most vulnerable; while eating and while using the restroom. Once finished, Clover crawled out from underneath, Khryi reaching under to retrieve the tray. "Good job Clover, you ate everything," Fiyero pat her head, the cat purring, content. She was growing dizzy, the medicine making her sleepy. Clover rolled over to lay on her back once again, the sun setting outside.

"Welp, I guess we should go eat. Goodnight Clover," Fiyero rose, Khyria leaving behind him. They closed and locked the door, the kitten snoozing on the floor. It was after sundown that the ritual started, Clover peeled one eye open, feeling a strange sensation within her body. Pain rippled through her, her eyes widening. "Gaaah!" Clover screamed, clawing at herself. She thrashed on the floor, not understanding what was happening. "Arrrghaaa!" Clover screamed, Khyria running in to see what was wrong. "Clover? What is it? What's happening?" Her body was glowing, Fiyero rushed in behind her, grabbing her arms to stop her from injuring herself. "Khyria, get her legs. The ritual must have started!"

❝Across the sea, will we finally find freedom?❞

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#007F03 ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя #B20070

Little by little, the dark energy called miasma was beat back. Powered by the lines of the pentagram from each of the five spots on the star shape around Ancient London, the five mages cast all of their mana up in the air. But to save the world there would always be some sort of consequence and they all felt it as the miasma ate away at their now defenseless forms. Bit by bit they were swallowed by the rage of the miasma, as the world slowly, ever so slowly began to clear up. With hope that one day humanity could populate the rest of this world and thrive once again, the five mages finished their task. It was a lot of work but finally, it was done, after twelve hours of nonstop casting. Erika was panting, and then she stood up, knowing that they had to go, listening for the sign of success from everyone else.

She listened for the sound of success.

She didn't hear the signal flare because her ears had been stolen from her, her hearing completely gone. It was a magical removal of course, so technology would not be able to fix it. This was part of the sacrifice, all five of the mages had to give up a part of their body in order to fulfill the ritual. The world was saved, but not without some sort of price. And what of Astra? With hope, the baby was dead now as a result of cleansing all of the miasma. The cursed child should not have been allowed to live to begin with. "Good, you're all done." Mallier spoke into the crystal ball, all five of them having one. "Seraphina, you'll have to gather everyone." And so she did, starting with taking the deaf Erika from the ruins of the Tower Society. She said words but Erika couldn't hear her, couldn't read her lips. However it seemed that the former Valkyrie had lost the use of her dominant hand. She, too, had suffered a lost.

After gathering everyone else it turned out they all had suffered a lost. Poor Maple had lost her sense of smell now, and for kittens smell was more than half of their world. She seemed so lost and confused upon being found, crying because the world fell scary and unknown to her now. Rosemary had gone blind, her eyes now unseeing as if they didn't exist in the first place. As for Alistair, his legs were taken from him, he would never be able to walk again. The five now crippled mages didn't really know what to do, other than follow Mallier's command, of course. "You have to head back to my place now. Good luck, I'll try to find ways to help you guys adapt with your new weaknesses." She sounded guilty as she projected the sounds into their heads, as if she wished she could have given up something to spare one of them the fate.

It was a harrowing yet somewhat calm journey back home. With much pain and effort, Erika finished the last shadow jump, helping everyone else out of it as well. Seraphina grinned weakly, knowing she would never get to play the piano again, helping Alistair with her one good arm, Maple was tugging gently on Rosemary's sleeve to guide the old healer safely into the tower. "We're back?" Erika tried to say but it already sounded a bit slurred and strange. "How is Clover?" She wanted to ask but already with her hearing gone, words were likely beyond her now too.

The five mages would have a lot of work to do to get used to their new circumstances, but if you asked them if it was worth it to save the world, they all would happily volunteer to do it again.

|| Be Brave || Owl City ||

Khyria and Fiyero stayed up the entire night with Clover, holding her down in order to stop her from scratching at herself. Khryia whispered encouraging words while Fiyero did his best to read though Clover's alchemy books to try and find something that might stem the pain. In the end, they were left holding and rocking her as the miasma left her body, leaving the kitten shaky and weak. She sobbed from the pain, at last able to form intelligent thoughts. "It's okay," Fiyero soothed, rubbing her sweaty hair off of her forehead. He lifted Clover up, Khyria unlocking the door so that they could carry her into the main building of the Spiderweb. Mallier was waiting for them, a room already set up. "Shh, it'll be alright, the pain will go away soon." It was hard to breathe, it was hard to think, the anxiety and fear had returned full force on top of everything, sending her into a panic attack.

It was a bit of a search before they could find something that could help, using a combination of herbology and alchemy to make a tea that soothed the nerves and would help the pain. Clover fell right to sleep afterwards, exhausted from spending the night screaming. Mallier, their substitute doctor, bandaged the scratches on Clover's chest and examined her to see what state the miasma had left her body in. As it turned out, it had reeked havoc, it was no wonder Clover was in so much pain. Her lungs weren't expanding properly, her nerve endings were fried, the walls of her heart had thinned, and her kidneys and liver had stopped working completely. Had another day gone by, the miasma surely would have killed her.

"Welcome back Master!" Khyria chirped when Erika had at last returned. She ran over, giving Erika a great big hug. Maple was still shaking, traumatized from losing her sense of smell. She would have preferred to lose anything else, her sense of taste, touch, why, she'd even rather that someone cut off her cute tail! Anything but this! "My sister," Maple wanted to know, backing up the question Erika had asked that Khryia was trying to avoid. "Where is she?" Maple tried to stop shaking, she needed to appear strong if she wanted to go see Clover. "Asleep," Fiyero answered for Khryia as he and Eamon entered to greet them. Eamon ran to greet his Mother and Sister, Theo too, coming to greet them all. They were in a sorry state, their motley crew alive, but disheartened from having lost so much.

"Erika," Fiyero said seriously, "it isn't good." Under normal circumstances, miasma would cling to mana nodes, which would eventually clog them up and kill the mage. Clover didn't have mana nodes, therefore, the miasma had clung to her organs, attempting to do the same thing it would to a mage. "You should go to her," for now, they were letting Clover sleep, but it had been days. They could do nothing but give her that tea to soothe the nerves, which made the kitten dizzy and sleepy. She wouldn't touch food, she could barely handle getting out of bed to use the bathroom on her own. Maple's eyes widened, she ran off to find her sister, bursting into the darkened bedroom where Clover was curled up on the bed, looking pale. "Clover!" Maple ran over, her sister's eyes opening to see who was there.

"Maple," Clover smiled, her tail swishing weakly. She struggled to sit up, coughing. "No, don't move, it's okay," Maple knelt down, holding Clover's hand. She rubbed their cheeks together, noticing the strange machine connected to Clover. The condition Clover was in was livable, fortunately, it would just mean getting used to this different way of life. Clover was permanently weakened, whether she would regain full function was debatable, but it would take time and patience. "Clover missed Maple," Maple teared up, wishing she could smell Clover's comforting scent. "I missed you too you dummy."

❝Across the ocean, we found despair.❞

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#007F03 ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя #B20070

|| Need you Now || Lady Antebellum ||

The world was silent now. Erika stared at nothing, trying to hear, desperately hoping that maybe something could save her from the silence. How could she ever play the flute again? How could she ever dive back into the wonderful world of music to give her mind peace? Nothing was making sense and she didn't know what to do. Seraphina was hugging her with her one good arm, trying to comfort her with tender touches. "It'll be okay." She said softly, brushing her hair. Erika could not hear her, she shook her head in confused despair. What was life without music? What was she going to do now? "She lost her hearing." Sera told Eamon as he and Khryia sprinted in to see her in her room. "Of course. Mom's blind too, everyone lost something." Eamon balled his hands into fists, he was unable to do anything to help anyone, he was just useless.

Erika whimpered and heard nothing. She asked for Clover but heard nothing, even as Khryia cried and clung to her, wailing out of grief for both Master and for Clover and how she would protect them from now on. "I'll guard you two with my life, I promise, Master!" Khryia wept, wiping her eyes. "I'll take baths, I'll rip off my scales, I'll do anything! I'll make things better, okay, Master?" She began to bite at her scales, crying and shaking. "Clover hates me." She said with a sad moan. "Because I smell and I can't help it because I'm a dragon." Erika could feel the shaking of her familiar against her own body but she couldn't do anything to help her because she didn't know why she was crying so all the shadow mage did was rub a hand against her, giving Eamon her best confident smile, which was more like a sobbing wreck of a face.

Eventually Erika was allowed in to see Clover, Khryia having run far away to cut off her scales in a desperate attempt to make life easier for poor Clover who had to suffer her smell all the time. Seraphina was the one to help Erika in despite having lost an arm and lost her chance to ever be a pianist ever again. Predictably, Maple had come first and was already there. "Hey, Clover. Looks like you're not unscathed either." Erika looked up to try to read Sera's lips but found that she couldn't. "Everyone lost something. Your sister there can't smell anymore, my right arm is dead, Erika can't hear. And you're in bad shape too." Sera helped Erika closer to Clover, allowing both girls to hug. Erika mouthed 'I love you.', knowing Clover couldn't hear. And then she kissed her.

|| Be Brave || Owl City ||

"What do we do Rosemary?" Eamon asked his blind mother. "Berry's deaf, you're blind and there's really no way we can fix it?" Rosemary shook her head patiently. "I'm afraid not," she said, sinking into a chair. "To rid the world of miasma, we each had to sacrifice something important to us." Rosemary relied on her sight to heal others, Erika relied on her hearing to play the flute, Seraphina needed her hands to play piano, Maple used her sense of smell to help her get around, Alistair used his legs to fight crime. It wasn't all bad though, these were not life limiting symptoms and with some adjustments, they would be able to live their best lives. Already Mallier was looking for ways to help them, the CCC had invented incredible technology that they could make use of now that Karma was dead. There was still Manfred to deal with of course, but Mallier had a feeling he wouldn't be causing anymore trouble now that he was in custody of the authorities.

Clover blinked her eyes open, the room was empty. Like a dream, the others had come and gone. She felt a tingling on her lips and gently reached up a hand to touch them. How long had she been asleep for this time? The window indicated that it was day time, the untouched lunch tray meaning she had slept through another day. The kitten struggled to sit up, she had to use the toilet, but could barely get out of bed. She sunk to her knees, crawling to the bathroom to try and use the restroom. Her body hurt, her lungs burned. She teared up as she managed to sit upright on the toilet, panting from the effort. Returning back to bed was just as painful, she had no appetite for the food on the tray, she wanted to go back to sleep but her body was in agony.

"Hello?" Clover whispered, wondering if she had dreamed that Erika had returned. How much time had passed? She pressed the heel of her hand into one of her eye sockets, wanting to believe that Erika was back, that she was safe, that she would come soon and comfort Clover and take the pain away like she always did. A knock on the door drew her attention away from her misery. "C-come in!" Clover gasped, a black set of ears poking inside. "You're awake!" Maple bound inside, her eyes filling with tears. "Oh, thank goodness you're up! I told them not to give you anymore of that tea, you can't sleep forever!" Clover wanted to though, her body was in agony. "Clover wants to see Erika," she whispered as Maple hugged her. "Okay, I'll send someone to go get her. You need to sit up though, come on, let's get you changed." With much patience, Maple helped Clover out of pajamas and into clothes.

"Maple, Clover cannot serve purpose anymore. Clover is useless," her hands shook far too much, she was too weak to walk on her own, there was nothing Clover could do for anyone anymore. Alchemy would be nigh impossible in this state. "Don't say that, you're not useless!" Maple cried, throwing her arms around her sister. "There are people that need and love you," did they though? Clover felt as though all she ever did was let people down. She could no longer be a hero, she couldn't bring smiles to people's faces. She couldn't heal the sick or restore justice to Min City, she was just another victim of the tragedy called life.

"Come, let's open up the window and get you some fresh air." Maple pushed all of the curtains inside to let the light in, she lifted Clover up easily, placing her on the window seat carefully. Clover shivered and Maple ran to get a blanket to cover her shoulders. She threw the glass panels open, the fresh air trickling inside of the stagnant room. "You should eat a little, you're gonna become a skeleton if you don't!" Maple warned, pushing the tray towards her.

❝Across the ocean, we found despair.❞

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#007F03 ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя #B20070

|| Need you Now || Lady Antebellum ||

For the last few days Mallier designed lessons for all the five heroes who saved the world. Already the newly elected mayor of Min City was preparing colonization plans to help spread humanity back around the rest of the world which was no doubt waiting for them to populate once again. Erika was made to try to learn sign language, Seraphina was learning how to do pretty much anything with her left hand. To be fair, the pianist didn't have it too bad since she always was good with both hands, but she would never make pretty music again. Hearing tests were done on Rosemary to teach her how to navigate the world using sound. Alistair was given extensive practice with his wheelchair in the hopes that he'd be able to fight once again. And Maple was given practice to move about relying on sight and hearing like a normal person.

Then Khryia showed up to interrupt. "I need Erika." She said, tugging gently on Erika's arm to snap her out of her sign language learning. "Maple sent for Master." Mallier smiled at her and waved her off as she helped Maple up after she fell down onto the soft mat. "Take her, I'm sure she and Clover have a lot to talk about." Mallier said with a gentle smile, allowing them permission to go. Erika was confused until Khryia took her out of the room, noticing something strange. What was wrong with her? Something definitely felt wrong. Erika mouthed, asking if Khryia was okay after tugging on her sleeve. The dragon glanced at her and frowned, tail twisting uncomfortably behind her. She looked so unhappy, clearly something was wrong. Erika mouthed that she wanted Khryia to be okay.

"I am okay. Nothing is wrong, promise!" Erika nodded dubiously, not entirely buying it but not having the energy to ask further either. She didn't notice the huge gashes all over Khryia's body as she tried to claw off all the scales and sliced off layers of skin off of her belly glue over the once-scaled areas, trying to make the skin grow over it. Naturally, this wasn't how healing worked but the dragon didn't know these things. How could she, right? Even her tail had gashes that were hidden by the tail sleeve Eamon had sewed for her yesterday at her request so that she could hide her wounds with. "Here you go, Master!" She pushed Master into Clover's room, closing it shut behind her so she could keep clawing at her scales.

Erika mouthed words of sadness and pain at Clover, eyes watering at the kitten's condition. She mouthed that she wished she could play the flute for her again to take Clover to another world where none of their pains and sorrows existed. Neither of them could do anything anymore, they were all useless, weren't they? 'I need you.' She mouthed, clinging desperately to Clover as if letting go would cause the white cat to disappear. 'I love you.' She nuzzled against Clover and turned her head up so they had eye contact. 'I can't hear your cute voice anymore.' She mouthed, eyes dripping again. 'I'm sorry for everything, my love.'

❝They say that cats are angels with whiskers.❞

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#A4D3EE ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя #FFADB9

|| Be Brave || Owl City ||

Maple made her eat, even though she didn't want to. She brushed Clover's hair into twin tails, making her look presentable as the kitten tried to stomach the bowl of soup and slice of toast. "Good job," Maple said proudly, patting her head. "I have to go now, but I think Erika will be here soon, okay?" Clover reached out for Maple, falling off of the bench as her sister closed the door behind her. The kitten cried out in pain, hauling herself up onto the windowsill once more since it was closer than the bed. She closed her eyes and leaned her head back, her heart fluttering nervously in her chest. Maple wouldn't let Mallier give her anymore of the pleasant pain medicine that made her go nighty night so she could sleep through the agony. No, Clover would have to face it awake and lucid.

She waited, looking out the window, a breeze fluttering by that ruffled the ribbons in her hair. It was cool against her skin, summer quickly turning into fall once more. Clover had missed it while being held captive, between the Underdark and Manfred, nearly six months had passed. The kitten opened her eyes once more, her ears twitching as she heard sounds outside of her room. What was going on? She turned her head, the door opening. The kitten froze as Erika entered, her heart thumping painfully in her chest. Clover gripped at the dress, wanting it to stop, wanting the sensation to go away. This was just Erika-Erika her former Master, the person who had helped her figure out alchemy and had tried to save her from the Underdark.

Clover looked up as Erika began to mouth words rather than speak them. At first, Clover was confused, but then slowly, she began to understand. This is what Erika had given up for her, her precious ability to hear. Tears welled up in Clover's eyes, wishing she wasn't so useless, that she could have helped, that it could have been anyone but Erika. Was it selfish? Yes, but Clover didn't care. The kitten reached out with a shaking hand, taking hold of Erika's sleeve. For a moment, there was silence, the two of them simply existing. Then, Erika reached out, she clung to Clover, telling the kitten that she needed her. Clover rest her head against Erika's shoulder, the smell of her former master comforting. "Clover cannot be Erika's servant anymore," the kitten whispered. "Clover cannot be anything anymore."

Erika pulled back, Clover's words lost since Erika couldn't hear them. "Clover loves Erika too," she spoke slowly, tears stinging her eyes. She shook her head, wishing she had been better. "This is Clover's fault, if Clover had been strong, Mas-Erika would not be hurting!" Her head spun, her lungs burning. Clover coughed, looking away as she shook, gasping for air.

Erika shook her head, shutting her eyes to try to block the tears. If she wasn't strong, then Clover would blame herself. She had to remain strong. Clover had to know that the shadow mage had no regrets, she would gladly give up her hearing again if it meant saving Clover. And so she said all of that silently, never breaking eye contact with the white kitten. When was the last time they were ever really able to speak? The last time had to have been back in the Underdark... but of course, Fearsome ruined everything. He stole Clover away, he put the rune on her, and so she killed herself. She even had the scar still on her throat, serrated and ugly and full of pain. Still, what could she do? What else could she have done? There was nothing else.

'We are equals.' She mouthed, full of intent. 'Nobles don't even exist anymore.' All the noble houses were extinguished now, all they had now was whatever skills they had on their backs and the hope that they could do their best. Well, to be fair Mallier had connections everywhere so she'd be able to find employment for them all if no one else could. As Clover was losing her breath, Erika placed a finger over her mouth, and then over her own too. No more words were needed now. She rubbed Clover's arm gently, her neck, her face. Then she gave her a kiss right on the forehead, on the cheek, on the hand. Did Clover understand yet? Did she understand the boundless love? No more did they have to worry about status, about properness. 'I love you, even if we're useless.'

Clover's cheeks tinged pink, there was no such thing as social status anymore. Such commodities had been done away with, courtesy of Estelle, who had been kind enough to open up this pathway for them to fix the world, to rid it of Miasma. Clover swiped at her eyes, she didn't want to be so weak and cry pathetically in front of Erika, not now, when she was spilling out her heart like this. Clover looked up, Erika placing a finger on her mouth. She kissed her, again and again, the kitten's heart picking up. These were not lips like those, they did not intend to harm, there was no malice in them, only love and kindness. Still, the memory of all that had been done in the Underdark was surfacing. It all seemed to freeze in the next moment, when Erika uttered those fateful words.

"Clover loves Erika too," she teared up once more, leaning forward to rest against Erika's chest. "Clover wants to be with Erika, even if Clover cannot do anything for Erika." About as useful as a stuffed animal, that's what Clover had been reduced to. The cat that at one point had blossomed so brilliantly would now be reliant on her friends and family to help her. Had you asked her a year ago where she thought she was going to end up, it certainly was not here. She had never seen any of this coming, from her first mage's house burning down to becoming a super hero and striking out on her own in order to save the mages and protect the smiles of the citizens around Min-City. Clover couldn't even count how many times things had gone wrong when they were supposed to go right.

Now, however, this one thing was at last going right. The kitten and the mage had at last reconciled, Erika's kisses making Clover's head spin and her heart beat quickly. "Clover loves Erika," she whimpered, "Clover wanted to tell Erika so much, but never allowed to." Now though, now she could finally speak her mind. There was no hiding or sneaking around what they felt anymore, they were free at last to admit it. "Clover wants to be with Erika." She couldn't speak anymore, it hurt too much to go on. Not just physically, but mentally as well.

❝Across the ocean, we found despair.❞

Then let us be together, Erika tried to say. She was scared of speaking, scared of making sounds that didn't make sense, scared of being a failure. She was more comfortable just mouthing and hoping that people understood her, it was easier that way. Clover seemed to reciprocate, afraid at first, but it was okay because both she and Clover had been violated, they both were unclean and impure. There was nothing stopping them now from enjoying the depravity. The two kissed more and Clover and Erika, despite being in broken cages called bodies, at last they finally had each other. 'Then next time', Erika mouthed with a weak, tiny smile. 'Stop not remembering next time I try to be romantic.' It had happened far too often that Clover just chose not to remember out of convenience. Each time it had hurt, even if she tried not to show it.

The next day, Erika was lead by an ever-stranger Khryia back to Clover's room. Khryia seemed strange but she didn't seem willing to talk about it so Erika figured it wasn't her business to worry about. A voice in the back of her head warned her that this hands-off approach was exactly what ruined things between her and Seraphina but in the end, she didn't want to intrude on her dragon's business. Khryia was probably just worried about something silly, like growing weight and being fat. Once again the wounds and extensive botched surgeries were all underneath the dragon's clothes and she was purposely avoiding Clover so that her smell wouldn't permeate through and hurt the poor kitty. No one saw Khryia sobbing as she clawed her scales off each night, the blood and the pain getting to her.

She and Mallier did some vocal exercises this morning, enough to give the shadow mage at least a tiny bit of confidence that she was still able to speak perfectly normally. She summoned tentacles, leaving them in Clover's room. "U-um... d-does... can I speak? Is this working?" She blushed, looking very unsure of herself as she conversed with Clover. Hoping that Mallier wasn't just pulling her leg, the shadow mage continued. "You're the last alchemist now. You have to write a book of potions to carry on the next generation, even if you can't yourself, right?" Even if language was a difficult concept for the cat, and she had no stamina anymore. "Every night you can read a few letters to the left tentacle and it will write for you." She gestured, the tentacle was holding a pen somehow. "And the right one, if you tug it, I can know and I'll come right over."

Next time, Erika promised, "Clover will try to be better," she whispered, trying for a smile. "Clover will listen more," she tried to promise, feeling sleepy from the effort of talking. Clover had no memory of not recalling Erika's advances, although she could remember that Erika had wanted to go away every chance she ha when they were living in that mansion in the forest. Clover had wanted Erika to stay, despite Erika insisting that she should go far away and never come back. Had the kitten perhaps been hinting that entire time about Erika's presence? Or maybe the two of them were equally to blame for their neglect over one another? "Clover will stay-will stay by Erika's side." It wasn't like she could go anywhere else anyways, not on her own. Erika helped her back into bed, leaving after that. Clover sank back into the mass of fluffy pillows, falling back to sleep easily.

The next day, Maple came in bright and early to wake Clover up. She wasn't going to let her sister waste away like this, not if she could help it. She knew Erika wasn't going to be of much help, she wouldn't even comfort poor Khryia, who Maple had walked in on trying to cut off her scales. In alarm, the kitten had dragged the dragon to Rosemary to treat her wounds, both scolding the dragon for being so reckless. "Your smell is what makes you, you. Sometimes smells are good, sometimes they're bad, but they help us identify people." Maple explained, "Clover is just more sensitive to smells is all." Maple handed Khryia a bottle of essential oils with a little spray top. "Use some of this every morning and it should help. You should have just reached out instead of resorting to such drastic methods." Maple said kindly, realizing something odd. Khyria's smell must have been very strong, for even Maple had gotten a whiff of it.

"Up, up, up!" Maple sang, throwing open the curtains and opening up the windows. She helped Clover to the bathroom and got her dressed in something cute. Clover picked up a pair of scissors from the dresser when Maple had turned around and gathered a handful of hair in her fist, slicing through one of her twin tails. "What are you doing?!" Maple asked in alarm, grabbing the scissors. "Clover is cutting hair," she replied. "But your fur was so beautiful," Maple frowned mournfully. She had no choice now but to even it out, trimming Clover's hair to shoulder length. "Too heavy," Clover shook her head, ears twitching. "Okay, but next time, tell me instead of just slicing it on your own. You could have hurt yourself! Look, your hands are shaking so badly!"

She placed Clover on the windowsill and made sure she ate a few bites of oatmeal and took her heart medicine before going to her lessons with Mallier. Clover was drifting off when something slithered underneath the door, a familiar dark tentacle. The kitten rubbed her eyes as the tentacle began to spoke. "Erika is speaking?" Clover asked with a faint smile. "Clover is happy to hear Master's voice again." She said out of habit. Clover nodded, she was the last alchemist, she had to do something about it.

❝Across the ocean, we found despair.❞

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#007F03 ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя #B20070

|| Need you Now || Lady Antebellum ||

There was a tap on her shoulder. Erika glanced over and saw Seraphina standing tall above her, grinning for some reason. "Do you want to have a practice fight?" She asked, eyes twinkling with mischief. "We never really had one before." For being enemies, the Blue Lotus and the Valkyrie only really ended up clashing once, and in the end that one fight ended without a clear winner. It was a little anticlimactic and now that Sera had magic, it would be interesting to see who could win. "Okay." Erika replied, still not used to speaking without being able to hear it. She missed music so dearly, it was hard for her to adjust. "Should we invite the others to watch too?" And that was how invitations were sent out and thus everyone was gathered in the biggest room of the Spider's Nest to watch the big fight. Khryia was absent however.

Would she be able to win without relying on sound? Erika didn't know, so she was going to have to be very careful here. Meanwhile Sera only had one hand available to her so she had to control all the rocks using only that single hand of hers. A chunk of rock formed and she flung it at Erika who ducked under and to the side, summoning tentacles around the room to swing at Sera. The pinkette jumped and landed on a rock chunk, flying smaller dagger-shaped shards towards Erika. "Let's have fun!" Sera's lips moved and then something hit Erika right in the back, knocking her to the ground, a big fist-shaped rock. "H-hey!" The shadow mage panted, rolling to get back to her feet. "That's not fair!" Taking a brief moment to catch her breath, Erika counter attacked, sending shadow needles that circled around Sera and then stabbed into her right side, the one with a nonfunctional arm.

Sera snickered as if finding that to be very funny. "You know I can't feel it, right?" In the meantime, Eamon was watching, looking almost bored for some reason as Mallier narrated the entire fight for Rosemary's benefit. Alistair looked as if he wanted to fight too, but his mobility lessons still needed quite some work before he was safely battle-ready. Theodore had Julian and Cookie both in his lap, sharing a bag of popcorn with the three of them, and Fiyero was taking bets, hoping to make a quick buck off of this fight. Maple was sitting next to Clover, and then she let out a yell. "Clover's cheering for you, Erika! Don't disappoint her!" And then she realized that Erika couldn't hear the words of advice.

"You know Clover's cheering your name, right?" Sera smirked as shadows and rocks clashed with one another. It looked almost even - Erika had to go slow because she had to keep looking around to make up for the lack of hearing. Sera, too, was unable to fight at full power since she couldn't use both hands to extend her mana. But then Erika got a lucky hit, tangling Sera's leg with a tentacle and lifting her up into the air, pinning her arms at her sides. "I win!" Sera grinned and went limp, surrendering. "That was fun! Let's fight again some time!"

It was true that Clover was cheering for Erika, albeit softly. "Go Erika, Clover believes!" She panted, leaning her head against Maple's shoulder, who pat her short hair. The others had been surprised when Maple carried Clover out, a ribbon tied around one of her ears since her hair was now too short to wear in twin tails. "It looks good," Fiyero gave a thumb's up and then the fight had started, Khyria noticeably absent. "Where is smelly dragon?" Clover asked, looking around. "Clover, it's not nice to say that people smell," Maple scolded, the kitten blushing and looking away. She turned back to watch the fight, hoping that Erika would pull through. Of course, just like her, at the last second, she pulled a move that spun the tides and Erika came out victorious. "Yay!" Clover cheered, taking a flower in her shaking hands. Maple lifted her, carrying Clover to Erika. "Here you go, a special delivery."

"Clover has flower for Erika," she held up the daisy, having picked it off the flower shelf that was growing right outside her window. "Congratulations," she smiled, Maple setting Clover on her feet. She kept a hand around her waist to support her. Erika had won despite her lack of hearing, perhaps that would assist in boosting her confidence and self assurance? "Clover thinks that Erika's voice sounds wonderful," she reached forward, Maple's grip on her slipping. Clover stumbled, knocking into Erika. "Ah, sorry!" Maple apologized, a sly grin on her lips. Perhaps her release had not been accidental after all. "Since we're all gathered here, we have a few announcements!" Mallier clapped her hands together, then held out one hand, a ring adorning her middle finger. "Eamon proposed!"

Clover's eyes widened as Eamon blushed, looking away and scratching the back of his head. "We're gonna get married tomorrow and you're all invited!" Her happy expression quickly became serious. "In other news, the recolonization has begun, a lot of humans and mages are moving out to build lives and I think it might be smart if we did so too. Our island is beautiful, but there's a lot of world out there." Mallier walked over to Erika in particular, "I found somewhere that I think might suit you," a farm, away from society, with a forest, a big open field, and plenty of large, sunny windows. It had a big red barn and a beautiful house, with plenty of room for a garden. "You don't have to rush, but once you're ready, I think it would be great for you."

Clover looked at the picture, her eyes lighting up. Big windows that let in plenty of light, a firehouse for the winter, a picturesque view. Her ears perked up for the first time in days, her tail swishing excitedly. "To celebrate your engagement, let's have a big feast!" Rosemary declared, grabbing Fiyero and Maple by the shoulders. "Come on you two, come help a blind mother cook dinner for her beautiful children."

The fight was over and now and congratulations were made to both victor and loser for the good bout. Erika was mostly just looking blankly in front of her as she let Sera down from the tentacles until suddenly a flower was thrust in her face. She glanced over and saw Maple and Clover right there. She missed being able to hear footsteps and know when someone was calling out to her. There had to be something that could be done so she wasn't just a useless sitting duck half the time! "Thanks, it's almost as pretty as you, Clover." She would treasure the flower - and then suddenly Clover was thrust towards her by a sneaky Maple who once upon a time had nothing but disdain for Erika. When had that changed?

Announcements were made, Mallier and Eamon were going to be married and it was set to be tomorrow somehow? Erika had to rely on Clover pushing Erika's head in the right direction so she could read the lips of those who were actively speaking. In a big room like this it was very hard for her to get the hang of things, since everyone could just start talking all on their own and there was no way she would get it all! "Eamon finally did it!" Her twin waited until she looked at him until he grinned embarrassedly at her. "Of course I did." He crossed his arms, rolling his eyes. "We've been together ages after all, even if one of our three is gone." Yana had vanished, probably executed in the first round of mages before Haven could have been established. It was sad, but it was the way it was. Time moved on, no time for mourning.

An idea was put forth, the option of living on a calm quiet farm away from everything. As much as Erika was used to the big city and it's affects, she knew the quiet outskirts was more Clover's speed and it would help her adjust to everything too. "We can be the heroes to farm animals!" Erika nudged Clover in her arms, trying to turn the cat so that she could read her lips. Everyone would be splitting off it seemed. "I'll hang at the farm for a while until I find out what I can do for myself." Sera said, and she would be taking Alistair with her of course. It would also give her more time to seduce Maple. Eamon and Mallier would move to one of the big cities and help in the land reclamation project, clearing Ancient London of it's vines and ruins. After that? Well, Eamon wanted to start a clothing company, a brand all of his own. Rosemary and Maple would be staying at the farm to live a quiet, modest existence. Julian wanted to explore the world and would keep heading East to see what was out there, and Theodore, surprisingly, brought up the idea of starting a school and becoming a teacher.

In the end, the humans would return to their land and the island here would once again vanish from maps and everything, becoming the sanctuary for the Anima to hide in refuge from those who may wish to hurt them.

A farm, a real farm, away from the city and massive amounts of humans who stared at Clover wherever she went. A smile tilted her lips upwards, her tail swishing to and fro at the thought. "Clover likes idea," she said softly, facing Erika so that she could read her lips. "I'll be coming of course," Maple said a bit protectively. "To make sure Erika takes care of you," Clover nodded, feeling bad about the fact that she had become a burden. She had never wanted it to be this way, she had wanted to be a lap cat, living the high life, not weak and in need of assistance to do everyday things. The kitten teared up again, wishing she wasn't so useless, wishing she could somehow help Erika regain her hearing, that she could run in a field full of flowers, or spend hours writing down her alchemy notes so that the knowledge could be passed down to others. Instead, Clover would never be able to do those things on her own again.

The feast Rosemary concocted was delicious, even if Clover could only take a few bites of it before growing tired. Eamon was of course going to design every outfit, from his own tuxedo to Mallier's wedding dress. Erika, Sera, and Julian would be the bridesmaids, Fiyero, Alistair, and Theo would be the groomsmen; Clover and Maple would be flower girls and Rosemary would be ring bearer with Khryia to guide her down the aisle. Right after dinner, Eamon went off to get to work on making clothing that would suit all of them. Fiyero followed him behind, tail wagging gleefully at the fact that his Master would be getting married the next day. Julian went to practice walking in heals, taking Cookie and Theodore with him to be his audience, leaving the girls at the table.

"The CCC sure created a lot of interesting things," Mallier said, picking up a stack of notes and placing them on the table. "They actually made a lot of useful advances," she sorted through, taking out certain pieces that would pertain to them. "Exo skeletons, brain implants, armaments to help with ailments." Rosemary smiled, no doubt understanding where Mallier was going with this. "Are you suggesting we use our enemy's technology to benefit ourselves?" Mallier nodded, "that's exactly what I'm suggesting. It's a curse isn't it? So what if we bypass magical law and use technology?" Mallier had no idea if it would work, she was just making suggestions. "It won't hurt to try," Maple said excitedly, wondering if a brain implant could restore her sense of smell. "It won't fix everything of course, but it's a start."

"Since there's going to be a wedding tomorrow, I think we should all take baths," Rosemary suggested, smiling innocently. Clover and Maple both stiffened, Rosemary turned in the direction she believed to be Erika, "It wouldn't do to have your pet cat smelling up the wedding." The shaking grew worse, Clover knowing that she was helpless to resist.

Of course as more of a secret in order to better surprise everyone was the fact that work was being done using the exoskeletons as well as neural uplink technology to create new limbs entirely. With hope this would be able to not only help alleviate the curse's burden on Seraphina and Alistair, but also be able to give Clover at least one limb to use, since adding more than one would be dangerous. The neural implant and the limb enhancement would require surgery but afterwards the patients would be able to hopefully use their thoughts to control the new limb in a way that would not add extra stress to the rest of the body. The plan was to give Clover digits on her tail that could act as fingers, so her tail could be an extended arm. It wouldn't be ready until after the wedding, though.

After a very stressful bathtime, Rosemary taking care of Maple, Erika taking care of Clover, it was almost time for bedtime now. At Julian's announcement of being a bridesmaid both Erika and Sera exchanged a look, almost acting like sisters with how in sync they were. They shared a giggle, knowing that no matter how they tried to pretty themselves up, they would never be able to beat Julian - or Julia - in adorableness. "I'm sorry for bathing you." Erika snuggled her pet - no, no her girlfriend closely once it was over and they were clothed again. Everything just felt so strange now in a silent world without sound, but she would do her best. "Maybe Mallier's CCC technology can help us too." If it could give their Hunters wings, it could do anything, right? Even Sera still had her wing enhancements in her back, ready to extend in order to fly in conjunction with her cybersuit.

Well, even if it wasn't possible and all of the tech wouldn't be able to help them, Erika could still do something for her love. She closed her eyes and put her hands on the newly blank manastone. Once it was black with corruption, the beast. It was back to neutral now, with no mana stored inside. "Here, my tentacle magic." She put it in, enough charges to make ten tentacles. "You can control them with thoughts, it'll cost my mana though. They can be your arms and legs for now. Is that okay?" The shadow mage gave a brief lesson on her most used technique, hoping that Clover would be able to make use of it.

Morning came and almost immediately after eating, Khryia came to her door. "Eamon wants." She said after ringing the bell which would make her room light up to show someone wanted her attention. "All the clothes are ready, Master." Khryia didn't look okay at all. More than anything she seemed disgusted by somehting. And then Erika smelled it too. "What did you put on yourself?" She asked, tilting her head. The dragon shrunk and scowled. "Maple tricked me, Master! I used all of the smell stuff and now I smell like this and it's so awful bad!" The used the entire spray just this morning, it seemed.

Clover did not enjoy the bath, even if it was Erika who had done the scrubbing. The kitten lay in bed with Erika beside her, arms wrapped around her protectively. The kitten shook her head, it had been a while since she had last had a bath and tomorrow was a special occasion. "Erika should not apologize," Clover replied, leaning her head against Erika's chest. The feel of her heart beat made her ears twitch, the sound comforting. "Clover does not know if Mallier can help, Clover is scared to hope." She had been let down so many times that Clover wasn't sure if she should hope that her body would ever get better. There were things they could do, Rosemary had explained. Clover could use oxygen to help make her less sleepy and stop the coughing, for example.

While Mallier wanted to add an extension to Clover's tail, Rosemary thought it be best if they address other issues, such as the nearly none functioning kidney and liver and the thinning in the arterial wall. To help this, they would need to implant a device to coax the organs into functioning, something to provide a stimulation of sorts. It wouldn't bring Clover back up to a hundred percent, but that, combined with some muscular training to help improve muscle tone and oxygen intake would at least give her more energy and perhaps with some desensitization, less pain. "Clover wants Erika to be better too," she whispered, turning away to cough. Her tail swished occasionally, the two of them sitting in silence for a bit until Erika pressed her hand against the empty mana stone, which was now clear rather than black as night or blue as the sky.

"Mana?" Clover inquired, knowing that it could potentially hurt Erika. The kitten shook her head, "No, Clover will not use if it will hurt Erika," her ears twitched worriedly. "Clover has Maple as arms and legs," her sister didn't mind carrying her around and caring for her, no, Maple preferred it. Since she no longer had Estelle to serve, Maple wanted to be with her sister as much as she could, afraid that Erika would one day take Clover away from her. Maple wasn't stupid, she knew that the two of them were in love, even if before they had tried to deny it. Clover felt sleepy once more, her eyes beginning to close. She curled up as much as she could against Erika, drawing in her warmth since the kitten was always so cold.

When morning came, a terrible smell assaulted her nose. It was as though someone had dumped an entire bottle of perfume on themselves. The kitten rubbed her eyes, propping herself up on a pillow. Khyria and Erika were standing in the doorway, Khryia looking upset about something. Maple had come by with their dresses for the wedding, wanting all of the girls to get ready together and to spoil Mallier. She wrinkled her nose, hanging the dresses up when she realized what the silly dragon had done. "You're only supposed to spray a little bit, not the whole bottle." It looked as though Khryia was going to need a bath if she wanted to be presentable for the wedding.

❝Across the ocean, we found despair.❞

Khryia smelled absolutely rancid, it was awful! "We need to get you a bath." Why would Maple do something so mean like that? It was absolutely evil - oh wait, no, it was most likely just Khryia being a bit of a moron and misunderstanding something. "No! I don't want to bath!" She whined, pulling against as Erika dragged her away. The shadow mage turned to look back at Clover, smiling at her. "Do you want to watch? I'll set up the crystal ball to let you see." They did that and poor Khryia had to bath to get rid of the smell. And that was when Erika saw the wounds, the claw marks, the bleeding. "What happened? What did you do this for?" She of course recognized the claw marks scratching and mauling at her own body.

"Because I'm smelly! I'm smelly and that means I can make Clover more sick!" Erika tilted her head as she watched the dragon's lips form those words. Was she ever this self conscious about it before? Clover said it all the time, didn't she? "Why does it bother you now?" Khryia turned her head and said something but Erika couldn't read the lips so she turned the familiar's head to be able to repeat herself. "Because Clover's hurt... and I want to help. But me being around hurts her nose, and that makes it worse." The dragon was crying, whimpering, as the soapsuds soaked into her open gashes, unknowingly available for Clover to see it all. "So that's why I've been staying away, so I won't bother her anymore." Khryia looked so sad like a dejected puppy. Erika hated to see her like this. What happened to the happy little dragon from before?

Erika was going to bring the smile back somehow. It might not work in one day, but she would do her best. "Do you want to be friends with her?" Khryia nodded, eyes watering. "I wanted to be best friends." She said, curling her mangled tail to avoid the pain of the soapy water. "I wanted us to be like sisters. But she hates me, so I'm going to stay away!" It was rumored that you summon a familiar with a similar mindset to yourself. Maybe this was how it was, Khryia choosing the easier out of avoidance since it meant she wouldn't have to face her fears of being hated. "Then you should talk to her about it. You don't know what she's thinking, do you? And if we'll live on the farm together, you'll have to be around too." The dragon whimpered and lowered her horned head, sobbing into the water, too afraid to do even that. Was Clover listening in on it all? Erika knew that they were both big girls, it was up to them to fix their friendship.

Clover was already struggling to breathe, the awful smell was only making it worse. Her head spun, her heart thumping painfully in her chest. The kitten looked up at Erika and Khryia, her ears twitching as she listened. Khryia would need a bath and Erika would have to be the one to give it to her considering the others were going to be busy preparing for the wedding. Already Rosemary was ordering the others around while Mallier and Eamon slept in. They had to arrange decorations, set up flowers, make an aisle, prepare food, there were so many aspects and Clover was missing out on all of it because she was too weak to help. Instead, she lay in bed, nodding when Erika asked if she wanted to watch. Once the crystal ball was set up, Khyria and Erika left to get rid of the stench.

The kitten lay back in bed, listening to the conversation that went down between Master and familiar. As it turned out, this was all Clover's fault. The kitten squirmed in bed, her cheeks turning pink. It was her fault Khryia was hurting herself, it was her fault that the dragon was hurting and mutilating her scales in an attempt to make herself smell less. Instead of using a less invasive method, Khryia went right for the most extreme solution she could think of. All Khyria wanted to be was friends, but Clover was too stuck up to accept her. The kitten began to tear up, wishing she had been better, that she could have been nicer to Khyria. "Clover is sorry!" the kitten hiccuped, "Clover wants to be friends too but-but Clover doesn't know how!" She didn't know if they could hear her through the crystal ball, but the effort of speaking so loudly made her erupt into a coughing fit.

They would all live with each other eventually, which meant that they had to learn to love one another sooner or later. Clover sniffled, swiping at her eyes to rid herself of her tears and try to dry her cheeks. Once Khryia and Erika returned, Clover had managed to compose herself. "Clover was mean," the kitten said softly, looking up at the dragon. "Khryia does not smell very bad," right now, she mostly smelled like soap and faintly like lavender. "Clover was afraid Khryia would steal Erika away, but Clover knows Khyria does not like Erika the way Clover does." Hopefully the dragon would accept Clover's apology, the kitten leaned back breathlessly, Maple arriving with Seraphina to doll them all up. Rosemary would be getting dressed with Mallier and the boys would all be dressing together.

Maple lifted Clover up, carrying her to a seat with wheels. "Fiyero built this so I can push you down the aisle!" Maple said excitedly, wheeling Clover around in a circle to test it out. Clover felt dizzy, if not for the seat belt, she surely would have fallen out. The wedding colors were purple and white, therefore, the kittens received dresses in the appropriate colors. Maple wore something elegant and sleek to show off her mature form. Clover's outfit, while still adorable, showed off much less skin a favor to his little sister, knowing how much Erika hated it when Clover revealed too much.

❝Across the ocean, we found despair.❞

Khryia teared up as she entered Erika and Clover's shared room again, tail curling up into a ball, staying at the door to be as inoffensive as possible with her smell. "Don't feel bad." She said dejectedly, looking down at her scaley feet in disappointment and pain. "It's my fault for being a dragon." She was about to run away and sob to herself in her room when Clover began to speak, admitting her faults. The dragon let out a whimper, as if scared to believe that Clover was really saying this. "D-does this mean I can hug you?" She asked, trying not to tremble. "Without hurting your nose?" Letting them figure it out, Erika glanced as Maple and Seraphina arrived with all of the things they were going to need, Maple and Clover's dresses being very pretty.

"We're gonna match." Sera winked at Erika as she pulled Khryia to the side to strip her and shove a dress on her. There Erika could once again see the many wounds layering her body. It seemed Maple had told Eamon about this already since the dress for the dragon would be covering all of those wounds and allowing the dragon to feel as beautiful as her big soft heart was. The yellow was to make her look as bright as the sun, which was what she could make the room like whenever she had that big innocent smile on her face. "A-am I pretty?" The dragon asked nervously, twisting like a leaf in the wind. "I think you're very nice." Erika smiled her way, petting her familiar on the horn. She turned to face Clover. "You can pet her horn too, she likes it." The dragon blushed awkwardly, looking away.

Next it was time for Seraphina and Erika. Very appreciative that Clover would get to look modest - and no doubt Sera was just eating up how exposed Maple looked in that mature dress of hers, the two bridesmaids got to work. Someone knocked on the door outside considering the lights, it was probably Julian, who dressed himself with Cookie's help because it was silly for a bridesmaid to get dressed with the boys. The bridesmaids, all three of them, got to wear a beautiful pale pink dress that would hopefully look to compliment and make Mallier's wedding dress even better than it no doubt would be. Did Eamon make his bride's dress? It was impossible to say, really. "We all look so nice!" Julian grinned." Do you want to check out Mallier?" Sera snickered. "I like checking out Maple, personally!"

And so they all went, Seraphina brushing close to Maple's side as the black kitten was just about to lift Clover up. Erika asked for permission and the black cat seemed to acquiesce. But as they tried to enter the special bride chambers, someone was blocking the way, smiling at them as she heard their approach. Rosemary looked very pretty in that dress. Really, it was just a shame that Edmund wasn't going to get to see it. "Rosemary might be the best of us." Julian said with absolute honesty in his eyes. Rosemary shook her head. "If anyone's the star of today, it will be the bride, of course." She said, looking graceful and beautiful despite her age.

Clover hesitated, then nodded. To some extent, Khryia still smelled to her, it just wasn't as bad as the kitten always made it out to be. Perhaps it was because of Khryia's lack of hygienic practice, but maybe all she really needed was a bath to get rid of her smell? Clover hoped so, maybe if they told Khryia that then the dragon would be more willing to jump into the tub when they needed her to? The kitten stiffened as Khryia hugged her, then slowly relaxed, trying to raise her arms to return it. She clung to Khryia's robe, being the only way that she could hold on. When Maple arrived, she gasped at the sight of the two of them getting along and placed the dresses down to take a commemorative photo. Clover blushed, Maple lifting her to prepare her for the wedding.

Once her dress was on, Maple ran a brush through Clover's hair, parting it on the side to make a waterfall braid. She dabbed makeup onto her younger twin's face as well, making her as pretty as a picture. Once Maple was done with herself, she turned towards the others to see who needed help. Clover reached out, her hand scritching Khryia's horn. The dragon made strange sounds in response, perhaps they were her way of purring? Clover turned to look a Erika, her eyes widening. "Erika looks beautiful," the kitten admired, a knock on the door drawing their attention to Julian, who had outdone them all. Why, Julian looked more feminine than any of the girls did, the way his dress swished when he walked, heels clacking on the floor with confident steps.

It was time to go, Maple placed Clover in her special new chair, she was going to take the handles, but relented and allowed Erika to drive Clover instead. The kitten leaned back against the seat, her ears twitching as they exited the bedroom that these days, Clover barely left. They stopped in front of the entrance, Rosemary blocking their path. It wasn't yet time to enter, so they would wait here until the men arrived to start the procession. "Rosemary looks wonderful," Clover complimented, receiving a pat on the head from the woman. For someone who was blind, she sure got around easily. Clover purred at the scritches, her tail picking up speed, which in turn, made her pant. "Oh no, you're going to ruin your lipstick!" Maple leaned down, having so far, much like her sister, missed Sera's advances.

Erika bent down to whisper into Clover's ear despite not being able to hear anything. Sure, she might be blushing but still she was the Master here, wasn't she? Master in a different way now of course, than before. Clover wouldn't be the only one to give compliments! "I think you're very pretty." She whispered, or at least hoped that she was whispering because it was a bit strange to not be able to hear yourself as you spoke. "So pretty that I can't wait to take your dress off once we're alone." They were no longer pure but in a way Erika never was, because she and Sera had - okay, no, that was just weird to think about now. A frown from Sera showed that the pinkette wasn't making the best progress at wooing Maple so Erika shot her a look of encouragement.

"I'll do it!" She said with a sudden cry. Sera was never much of a dominant, it was always Erika taking control but now she more or less lifted Maple into the air and took her into a side room for who knows what. Some things could be missed, but being so abruptly lifted into the air was not one of those things. "Women are weird." Julian said with a silly smile as he and Cookie observed it all. Rosemary was so pretty even as she was petting Clover. "I'm proud to be your daughter, mom. I know I never say it." Erika held her mom's hand tenderly, who patted her and spoke back with her lips. "I'm so glad to have two of my daughters back." They shared a tender moment, even as the boys showed up, Fiyero, Theodore, and Alistair looking nice and sleek with their matching tuxedoes. Eamon showed up too, looking almost dashing despite being her twin brother. He grinned at her, but the grin was all nerves. "I gotta talk to mom." He said, pulling her aside to have a private chat.

Eventually Sera came back with Maple in tow, who was very hastily fixing both her lipstick and Sera's. They had kissed, evidently. Whatever happened behind those doors, Erika would never know. It probably wasn't her business anyways but she hoped Maple wasn't going to be adverse to it all. In any case Sera looked something between an anxiety attack and a smugly satisfied smile. It was probably both at the same time. "Well, let's go to get all set up." To the main chamber where Eamon would be at the stand, and everyone would take their positions, bridesmaids on one side, groomsmen on the other, the Maple pushing Clover for her wheelchaired sister to deposit flowers down the aisle for Rosemary to come with Khryia's help to bear the ring.

And once it was all over, the star of the show would arrive. Eamon took an extra moment to straighten his bowtie.

The kitten blushed at Erika's words, looking down at her lap. She had yet to do it with Erika. Sure, her body had been violated plenty of times, but Clover and Erika had only ever kissed. If they went through with it, this would be Clover's first time doing it for real with someone she liked. Her heart thumped at the thought, her head spinning and her cheeks flushing. Could Erika see it? Did she know how much of an effect her words had? They sent Clover into a tizzy, the kitten hardly noticing when Sera suddenly cried out, whisking Maple off of her feet and carrying her into a closet. "If it is with Erika, then Clover is ready," the kitten decided, bravely looking up at Erika as she spoke the words, meaning it. Whether or not Clover would have the energy to follow through at the end of this wedding was another matter entirely.

There was a tender, Mother-daughter reunion, a hug between Erika and Rosemary as Clover sat and watched, hoping that she had enough energy to stay awake the entirety of the wedding. The boys began to stroll in, looking dapper in powdered white suits and matching purple bow ties. "Don't you look ravishing," Fiyero teased, taking Clover's hand and kissing her palm. "Clover is a ravishing?" She asked in confusion. "Forget it," Fiyero laughed, patting her head. He would never stop chasing after women, even taken ones like Clover. After all, wasn't it the most fun with the ones that played hard to get? Eamon pulled Rosemary to the side, freeing up Erika to come back over and protect Clover from the predator called Fiyero.

Eventually, Maple returned, doing her best to sort herself out and fix her lipstick. Clover noticed the strange blueish purple mark right underneath the collar of Maple's dress. Had Sera done that? Was she hurting Maple now? No, Maple looked strangely pleased, as though she wasn't quite sure what to think. Maple frowned, wondering what had gone down behind those closed doors. Speaking of doors, the main chamber had opened, allowing them to set up and practice. Mallier would be arriving soon and when she did, they would be having a real wedding. Cookie handed Clove a basket of flower petals for her to scatter across the ground, the kitten eagerly taking the basket onto her lap.

"Clover will be best flower girl," she said determinedly. "We believe it," Maple smiled.

❝Across the ocean, we found despair.❞

|| Need you Now || Lady Antebellum ||

Other than the Bride herself, everyone was ready. Theodore was grinning as they entered the chambers to see it all decorated up. He had done much of the painting itself, the hall filled with beauty and excitement all over. "You look happy, Julian." He said, patting his brother on the shoulder. Seeing Julian flaunt so beautifully was a joy to see. Not even the girls minded that a young boy was able to show them up as the prettiest of them all. The two brothers smiled at each other. "Because I am happy!" Julian said with a swish of his long silver hair. "I love being able to dress up and no one caring that I'm a guy!" He gave his brother a hug, the two remnants of the Langleys finding peace despite the death of their father.

As they entered the chambers, Erika of course noticed the blush even if she couldn't hear the embarrassed stammering, seeing Clover's lips move like that was enough to show her what it meant. They were ready to do it. Perhaps tonight would be their chance. "Get plenty of rest after the wedding." Erika warned her lover through the quietest whisper right into her ear while they waited for Seraphina and Maple to get out of the closet. "Because tonight, I'm not going to let you rest." Her old habits were coming back again, she was domineering and alpha with Sera too. It was just how she was, and Clover didn't seem too afraid of something like that considering the pink on her cheeks. "Only I'll be ravishing her, Fiyero." Erika was lucky to have been looking at Fiyero as he approached so she could catch the flirtation. No, Clover was hers and hers alone.

Once Maple and Estelle finished, they all entered, everyone taking position, Erika handing the handles to Maple to have. Cookie became a little funny looking suited ferret and circled around Julian's neck to look like a scarf, the groomsmen were chatting, they even had a wheelchair for Alistair too. Was it okay that one of the grooms was so short compared to the others? Hopefully it wouldn't look too lopsided. They had their practice run, pairing each Bridesmaid with a Groomsman to walk each other up the aisle to the front. Seraphina with Alistair, and Julian and Theodore because they were each other's sibling. "I guess that means you're with me." Fiyero gave Erika a wink which she glared at in return, the two of them barely teeth apart as they walked down the aisle. Music played that she could never hear, Estelle's violin recordings was overseeing the wedding to show that she, too, was here to watch this union.

Once the practice was over Cookie reset the music, it was time for the ceremony to start. The bell rang in the crystal ball, that was Mallier's signal to begin. Of course, the entire thing was being recorded too. First to walk down was Eamon, holding his father's ring in his hand to imagine as if Edmund was walking him down the aisle. Next was the Maid of Honor and the Best Man, meaning Erika and Fiyero walking down procession together to the tune of Estelle's gentle violin solo. "Congratulations, Master." Fiyero made a foxish grin as Erika gave her brother a wiggle of the fingers. Following them, Seraphina and Alistair made their entrances, and then Julian and Theodore. As the music got to the next stanza, that was the cue for the flower girls to decorate the aisle, and Maple opened the doors with her handles on the wheelchair, allowing for Clover to deal the flowers.

Next was the Ringbearer, Rosemary, and her aide, Khryia, walking through the beautiful flower petals together. "Careful, mom." Khryia said as she held her arm out for Rosemary to hold onto. The mother had a very proud smile the entire time, no doubt being able to see the entire event in he rmind somehow. Hopefully they were living up to the imagined wedding in her mind. With the ring presented to the Groom, the doors opened one final time. Mallier in her stunningly beautiful wedding gown made her entrance, holding her father's ring in her hand just as Eamon held his. She nearly glided down the aisle and then lifted the veil, smiling confidently at Eamon.

Ring presented, Rosemary stood behind and between the two lovers, speaking the vows. After each promise was spoken, both Bride and Groom affirmed them until finally, the moment they were all waiting for. "You may kiss the bride." And Eamon did, with all of his heart.

Clover blushed, shielding her pink cheeks with her hands as Erika whispered in her ear, telling her to rest after the wedding because tonight, Clover wouldn't be getting any rest. The kitten looked up when the blushing was over, Fiyero stepping over in an attempt to flirt and Erika interceding, not allowing the sketchy fox to talk to her sweet little kitten. Clover looked up when Sera and Maple returned, Maple blushing a deep, deep pink. Had something happened? Clover wondered and slowly, it dawned on her. Maple was in love! And with Sera no less! Seraphina, who Maple had vowed to take revenge on one day for what she had done to Clover. The kitten looked down at her hands, which would forever bore the scars of the surgeries needed to fix them after Sera had broken each one in some capacity or another.

Clover had forgiven her, not for Sera's sake, but for the kitten's own. It wouldn't do to hold a grudge forever, especially since the feisty pink haired mage had been the one to save her from the CCC. Not the first time of course, the first time she had poisoned Clover in an attempt to kill her before Karma could and honestly thinking about all of this now almost made her second guess her decision to forgive her. Sera had changed though, that much was certain and as she emerged from the closet, beaming, cheeks red, slightly panting, it was clear that she belonged here just as much as the others. Clover laughed, the light tinkling quickly turning into a coughing fit. "Oh no, Clover, are you okay?" Maple asked, kneeling in front of her. Clover nodded, smiling a small smile. "Clover is fine... but is Maple alright?" Maple turned pink once more and quickly turned away, her tail swishing rapidly. "Y-yes! Everything's fine!"

She took the handles of the wheelchair and pushed forward, getting into line for their practice run. The music started playing, the fake procession taking place. The moment they ended their practice was the moment the real wedding began. Slowly, the music started to play. Maple handed Clover a basket of flowers, the two of them taking their position. When it was their turn, Maple started pushing the wheelchair across the carpet, Clover sprinkling flowers too and fro, delicate petals making the ground suitable for the bride to walk across. The kittens smiled, realizing that there was a camera in the corner to record everything. They took their place in their seats, Maple helping Clover into a real chair on the bride's side. When the music changed and Mallier emerged from behind the doors to take her turn, their heads all turned, the party standing up; well, all except Clover and Alistair.

The kitten did her best to stay awake, feeling sleepy from all of the activity. She nodded off in the middle of the ceremony, Maple nudging her awake just at the end. Clover looked up, Eamon and Mallier tying the knot, exchanging rings, and sealing the deal with a kiss. They cheered, the music started up again, Rosemary was quietly crying happy tears, no doubt imaging it all in her mind. Clover too, was crying, glad that at least, if one of them could be happy, it was Mallier and Eamon; who so deserved one another.

They took the party into the central part of the home, which had been decorated thanks to Rosemary, the familiars, and Maple. The music in there was different, louder, but not overwhelmingly so. Rosemary had, of course, cooked up a feast featuring bite sized delicacies, the cake the centerpiece of the dessert table. It was six tiers and decorated with edible sugar flowers, topped with a tiny replica of the bridge and groom. It was delicious and Clover sincerely wished she could eat more of it. They danced the night away, Maple dancing around the room while pushing Clover around, not wanting her to miss out. Eventually, however, Seraphina stole Maple for a dance and Clover and Erika took a turn, terribly out of sync with the music, but Clover didn't mind. She fell asleep in the wheelchair after that, waking up close to the party's end.

"Are you sure you're going to be alright?" Maple asked worriedly as she deposited Clover in her room, helping her out of the elegant dress Eamon had made. "Clover will be fine," she promised, "Maple should go have fun with Seraphina," Maple nodded, giving Clover a quick scritch and a kiss on the cheek. The kitten watched her leave and slipped out of bed, grabbing onto the wheelchair before her legs could collapse. She wheeled herself slowly to the drawers, struggling to change out of her nightshirt and into something to set the mood. When it was at last over, she wheeled herself back to the bed and used the blanket to pull herself back up, managing to wriggle onto the mattress somewhat awkwardly and set herself down on the pile of pillows to wait.
