Due to their weakness in sunlight, the Vampyr will often find underground, deserted areas to nest. Many have chosen deserted subways, mansions, and even caves.
The vampyr sleep exactly as a human does, and will usually find a comfortable area of ground to sleep on.
When breeding a female will begin the normal process of intercourse with a male. When pregnancy begins a female will begin to seep a sticky liquid from her skin and find a cool dark, enclosed area to rest for 8 months. Over the months the secretion will build up and the males will often help spread it around her resting area. The males often use peices of wood or other items to make a structure for the secretion. When it builds up it soon hardens, forming a protective cocoon around the female . From then, her stomach will open out into the cocoon which will be filled with another liquid that the cocoon naturally produces. When it is filled the cocoon becomes a womb in itself. Eight months later the child will grow quickly to the size of an average seven year old, then proceed to break the cocoon. Given the nature of the anatomy of the females, they will not be damaged, as prior to the coccon stage the child is growing in a small pocket of liquid under the skin, next to the organs. Thusly, the skin merely needs to held together to heal properly, which takes roughly three days.
A Vampyr needs to feed four to five times nightly and children seven to eight. They eat so much due to their very fast metabolism, which is about six times faster than that of a humans.
Most Vampyr keep trophies from each kill, be it a tooth, a skull or even a bit of clothing.
During the summer a Vampyr goes through hibernation for a month, where it will form an exoskeleton around it's skin in the same way it forms a maternal cocoon. During this time the exoskeleton is as tough as thousands of layers of steel, but is even more susceptable to sunlight. Meaning that direct or even indirect UV light at this time would lead to an instant death.

Although the Vampyr are abnormally violent, they never attack another of their kind. This instict is closely related to their hiving instinct, that causes them to stay in large underground groups, or colonies. The largest hive that has been found by a human that managed to live had roughly ninety hibernating Vampyr.

Over the years a speech adaption has occured and many Vampyr can use english to extents. Though they are not fluent, some have been heard going through full conversations with others of their kind in english. When not using english or another forreign language, they communicate using various grunts, hisses, clicks and physical signs.

The Humans:

In major cities there is a general rule.
Where there are humans, there are Vampyr.
Where there are Vampyr, there are humans who kill Vampyr.

Many groups, who stay in secrecy and work with local gangs to get arms supplies, hunt Vampyr. They have themselves well connected with weapons, places to sleep, safe houses and many other things.
They keep all of their information on a global network with all the info they have on Vampyr, such as weak spots, tactics, known Hives, known destroyed hives and hibernation times.

The most well known of these human groups call themselves 'The nightwatchers'. They actively patrol in large vans seeking Vampyr who attack humans. Many humans they save join their ranks without a second thought, though some do not have the same courage. The nightwatchers are well known because of their efficiancy.
All nightwatchers and hunters are trained to use most forms of fire arms and are taught basic hand to hand combat. Many carry weapons such as pistols and rifles to batons and tasers. Currently, they manufacture all of their custom ammunition out of regular ammo. A lot of bullets they use are 'Peircers' which can break through Vampyr bone.
Other types of ammo include:

SunBusters: Bullets that explode on impact.

Shockers: Bullets that emit an electrical charge

and Swarmers: A special type of ammo that explodes into tiny silver pellets that spray all over a Vampyr, either killing it or crippling it. The spray can often destroy limbs and bone.

Other Types of weapons hunters use are:

Light bombers : A small electronic grenade that releases intense UV, as bright as the sun for ten seconds.

Cages : Four small devices are set up, usually at each corner of a room, and then special bars are put into those that can extend to a maximum of 12ft. A veyr weak wire is run along from each device and when a Vampyr runs through and breaks one of these wires, the bars light up and create a cage of light. Visible lasers run from each bar in rows of seventeen, trapping the Vampyr. Some of the more insane Vampyr will run through the light bars causing huge damage to themselves in the process. Sometimes causing them to combust.

Sometimes they use common traps such as bear traps, and if they have to, they can set up far more complicated traps. Though the more expensive traps are usually only used when many Vampyr are to be trapped. And they can take a long time to set up as well as requiring a skilled specialist [otherwise known as trappers]

Description: Sid has neatly straightened white hair, falling around a thin pale face with high cheekbones angled below snake like grey eyes. He has a thin body that appears undernourished until you look under his clothes where his fine muscles appear sculpted. Sid usually prefers to wear low slung dark jeans and a baggy jumper or shirt that slips off of one pale shoulder. In his pocket he always carries his hand held mirror, he is more vain than most vampyrs but just as lethal.

Personality: Sid likes to be dominant, he is easily put into a bad mood and is known to toy with emotions. He trusts no one and has a feminine attitude towards clothes and make up. He enjoys annoying people and can sometimes have a very strange view on things. Sid trusts no one as letting others into his life weakens him, it means that he has to look out for someone other than himself, and that just isn't an option. If he gets too close, he gets away.
In Sid's eyes this is his world and he can do what he wants with it.

Bio: Sid has moved around a lot during his life, he is used to being chased by humans, and hunting others. His mother and father were killed by humans which has planted a seed of hate within him. The phrase "Don't play with your food" is often used by those he is with, if he is with anyone. He has only ever belonged to one hive, but it was attacked and he escaped. This was when he was 14. Now 19 he thinks of himself as an elite vampyr, a worthy hive leader who chooses not to become one.

Description:
With fair skin edging on translucent, and of a taller than average build, She has a curvy figure ending in small feet for her height, fitting a size four shoe.
Her face is quite long, with a sharp chin and full lips, showing the tips of her teeth when she relaxes. Her eyes are very dark and look black; strangely they don’t reflect any light. Her cheek bones are high and leave hollows in the tops of her cheeks, but she is beautiful in an odd way - her strange face is framed with shockingly orange hair, cut into a straight fringe, and feathered to the middle of her back, just bellow her shoulder blades - tied into a high ponytail with her fringe and two strands of hair down to frame her face when she is 'busy'.
She is usually seen in alternative like, human clothing. chunky boots with a wedge adding to her height, usually with silver studs or small spikes, tight trousers and a low cut top, she prefers red or purple, occasionally topped with a cropped leather jacket - though that’s just for show.

Bio:
Brought up in what was a string factory at some point, and consisted of 5 huge rooms and two smaller rooms sectioned off for the hive leaders use only, occasionally human youths would be attracted by the appearance of the 'abandoned' factory and wander in, causing a great game of scare and chase amongst the hive.
She cannot remember her parents at all having been dragged up by everyone else after they were killed by Light Bombs while on a hunt.
Once she maintained the appearance of a teenager she ventured away, working her way to an underground train station, and travelling via the tracks around the country.
Her only experience of the hunters is one time too many in her mind. She killed them quite easily as they weren't talented at what they were trying to do, but it still shook her.

Age: Appears Mid-thirties

Description:
Braken is a very pale, tall, muscular figure. His eyes are covered in Black which is a sign of his bad sight. He is bald and his ears extend farther back than the average Vampyr's. His mouth is very wide due to his mouth being slashed open wider, essentially slicing through his cheeks. Often a long tounge is just hanging out of his mouth at the tips of his sharp teeth. Braken black, baggy trousers over shoeless and sockless feet. He often doesn't wear shirts either. His back has a long scar running from his shoulder to the bottom of his spine.

Occupation: None

Bio:
Braken spent his childhood with two other Vampyr which would later become hive leaders in distant parts of the city. His mother was allegedly killed not long after giving birth to him, although he cannot remember ever having seen his mother. During his childhood with the two Vampyr he quickly noticed his sight deteriorate over time, and his eyes blackened. And although his sight became almost non existant, his other senses became stronger by tenfolds. Quickly he became well known as a powerful and merciless hunter who would take out large groups of hunters every night.
Though since his previous hibernation, the Vampyr who had the luck to meet him, had been slain by the more advanced weaponry acquired by hunters. Not long after he found an old subway station that had fallen into disuse. Assuming the area was safe, he set up a home for himself.

Name: Chrono "Cross" Crusade
Age: 10

Description:Cross stands at only 4 feet. Her pale porcelain skin makes her look more like a doll. Her eyes are different from one another. her left eye is jet black while her right eye is piercing blue. She wears a long black cloth that covers her eyes (but she can still see through) and at the same time uses it as a ribbon/headband.

She usually wears dark colored dresses that you can only find dolls wearing. But she keeps it hidden under a black hooded cape.

Bio: Cross is the only daughter of the Crusade family, a famous clan with great power. Because she is the only girl, Cross was forced to train her ability harder then the boys in her family. Her father trained her and spared with her showing no mercy. As a result, Cross became rebellious and disobedient.

One night she snapped and killed her mother and father, leaving only her big brother (aside from the rest of her family) Alive.She escaped her mansion and enroll in the Vampire Boarding school, mainly to get away from the rest of her family. She now hides from the rest of the Crusade clan in fear of them bring her back.

Description:
Krys is a small italian girl with a slender frame and delicate features. Her skin is a deep bronze with a healthy glow, her face square with soft features. She has low cheek bones and a small, button nose with traces of freckles along the bridge. Her lips are sleek, not too big, not too small, and her eyes are attractively big, with long eye lashes and a deep green. Kry's hair is a dark brown with light high lights the color of honey suckles. Her ears are small and somewhat pointed, giving her a pixie like appearance. She has a medium sized chest with a small wait and feet.
She is usually dressed in a pair of shorts and nikes with a rustic design shirt of animals or bands. She wears small, silver earrings that resemble a puzzle piece and wears a dark eye liner that gives her a mysterious aura.

Occupation: Civilian and Hunter, Her main job is a car re-furnisher

Bio: Krys grew up an orphan, her life full of loneliness and sanctuary under the roof of the Orphanage. She was always treasured by her foster parents as she moved from place to place, seeking a final home but when the day came she turned 18 she moved out and into the streets of NYC. In the suburbs she worked for a latin company which 'pimped' ride as showed on MTV. She trained and soon became their greatest money maker.
Hidden from the new of the outside world she was surprised at the greed and homicide that had darkened the roads. After hearing about all the local murders the knew there was no way one person could be doing this, especially with all the gruesome wounds left on the remaining scraps of the victim. She started to investigate and soon became the hunter of the Night Crawlers.

Name: Emery Kaspose

Age: 20

Description: His skin is fair, his eyes are dilluted blue, and his hair is a light brown, with a large blonde streak. He is either showing off his goofy, lopsided smile, or is extremely solemn, and seemingly emotionless. His casual clothes consist of dark jeans, striped, shortsleeve hoodies, and oliver green lace-up boots, or just sneakers. He has a small tattoo on the side of his left index finger, which is the outline of a gun, with a very low opacity, so it can only be seen if someone stares at it for a while, or in very bright light.

Occupation: Hunter

Bio: He grew up near a large city, and though he lived in the subarbs, he went to the streets at every chance he could. He didn't dislike his family, there were just very boring people, who worried too much, and were too afraid to do anything enjoyable. Eventually, he moved out into the city, where he got a job in event planning. One late night on the way home from a party on a rarely used short-cut, he came across a group of armed man, and a bloody, strange looking body sprawled in front of him. They interrogated Emery on what he had seen, and also requested personal information, like address and phone number. Not wanting to get into gunpoint, he told. A few weeks later, he got a mysterious phone call asking him if he was interested in becoming a Nightwatcher. And a few weeks after that, he was one.

How does Vampyr society work? Would they have cults, or religion?

God no. [hehe].

They are as about as intelligent as the average human but they are still all working as a hivemind. I.e. they don't entirely think freely. Which is attribute to their sadistic and murderous nature, they do not feel regret because they don't think about their actions and it's consequences like you and I might.

Ah...crud. Could my character perhaps pose as a, like, cultist, or something? To get blood, or stuff? I'm hoping to pull as much of him as I can from an RP where he was a Satanist priest (the RP was surrealism, I think...), so have you got any ideas?

Hmm... He could be insane and like... Worship blood an stuff. Like thinking killing is just because death is some sort of gift or... something? Any ideas?

Age: 19

Description: Elle is naturally very pale skinned and burns very easily, and as a result, avoids the sun if possible. This often evokes teasing by fellow Hunters. She has raven black hair, tied back into a short ponytail, with long bangs around her face. She has emerald green eyes, that often reflect her emotions, and are rimmed with black eyeliner. She is naturally slim, the kind that can eat what ever they want, and still stay the same size, often wearing tight t-shirts and her favorite pair of jeans. She has a tattoo on her left shoulder (黑暗), and another on her lower back. (獵人)

Elle was born in Ireland, and trained in Irish Dancing, Ballet, and Gymnastics from a young age. When she was 12, her family moved to the States.
When she was 16, Elle, her sister, and their two friends were walking home from a school show when they were attacked by three Vampyrs.
Elle's flexibility and apparent luck made sure she was the lucky one. A group of armed men found Elle crying on the street, covered in blood. She was quizzed about the attack, and gave her personal details. She was told that she had to claim it was three drunks that pulled a knife, or else she would have be shut up.
She kept quiet, and was later asked to be a Nightwatcher. She accepted.
Although she does not appear to be mentally traumatized, she has become a bit of a 'gym bunny', believing it was only her level of fitness that saved her.

Otherwise people might get confused and flame you for trying to create a hybrid [which would die instantly. think about it, the genetics would reject itself and then like, tear the thing apart before it could be born] ^_^ But other than fixing Race you're good to go. You said that Vampyrs were made the conventional way mostly, so would that mean that they refer to their makers as "mother" and "father"?

Name: Adelia [Addy] Saris

Age: 19

Description:An old vampire, born near the beginning of time. She stands at 6'0, and is very thin. She has long, dark hair in loose curls around her face, with a crown of thorns on her head, with a pink rose on her ear. Pale skin contrasts her dark multi-colored eyes that have dark purple, red, black, dark blue, and a small gold tint color. She wears a white corset dress that has no sleeves, and is in immaculate condition at all times. If there are any tears in it she burns it and uses a different one. Although, most vampires have long, sharp nails, hers are much shorter, barely going past the skin and are dull, rounded off. She doesn't wear any shoes but her feet are beautiful and smooth.

Bio: Lives with Darwin and the rest of their hive, and spend much of their time at their own home, but they go out many times to kill, living for the thrill. Addy is quiet and very into learning new things, the very opposite of her counter part, Darwin whom she shows civility towards, but is very passive to him.





Name: Darwin Saris

Age: 21

Description: Straight white hair that comes down to almost his shoulders, and thick bangs that hang to one side of his face. He has silver eyes and pale lips that are almost as pale as his skin. He is 6'5 and muscular, but beautifully so not frightening at all. He wears a long sleeved black cloth shirt that buttons up the middle and has a tall color that pops up over his ears. A dark silver belt with intricate designs hold up his black leather type pants. He has large spikes on his shoulders that are in a beautiful design, each side having one red ruby as part of the design but also as a symbol of blood, the cuffs of his shirt have the same design as the shoulders and belt but no spikes, and each has one red ruby. He wears dark dress shoes, and his nails are long and sharp, the opposite of Addy's.

Bio: Lives with Addy and the other vampyrs. He lives to kill and loves the thought of blood. He doesn't like to learn, and doesn't like to listen to what other people have to say. He is a natural born leader which makes it hard for him to live under the rule of Addy, but he knows that he has to.

Technically yes, but with the nature of the Vampyr they typically do not act with affection, and thus would treat their parents with as much respect as any other. That is untrue if it's born under the Hive leader in which case a high respect is shown.

They don't think and feel like normal humans you see, they know the word 'love' but cannot understand it nor feel it. They can simply hate and respect. The most primal of emotions are theirs.

I hope that clears things up a little.

Also, i'd like to point out that i usually picture Vampyr to be pronounced as [Vam-peer] but given that the characters are in the states, saying it as [Vam-pyre] would be totally acceptable.

Oh, thank you very much. That does help. So when they mate, it is purely to make more Vampyr? No affection towards one another in the process? Makes sense thank you. And I assume that I am accepted?
