I've included an introduction to the roleplay here, but for those who don't want to read the whole thing here's a basic overview:
(Short Version)
The roleplay takes place hundreds of years after the third World War, and the world has been completely demolished. Groups of people were able to survive by paying to hide out in vaults, which are basically huge bomb shelters. After the dangerous radiation levels went down, people began to emerge and try and make a life for themselves, but freakish mutant beasts are wandering the wastes, and criminals and killers are walking unchecked by any law. You're one of the new earth people, left with nothing but the technology of several hundred years ago to rebuild your life. Are you going to help bring human society back to its former glory, are will you take capitalize on the absence of law and wreak havoc? That's your decision.(Long Version)
The year is 2376, and the world has been destroyed. Over three-hundred years ago, as mankind was reaching the peak of its technological genius, it also hit the peak of its capacity for destruction. Tensions in Korea had spiked into another Korean war, and the war between the Eastern and Western worlds had taken a cataclysmic turn; at the dawning of the third World War, with the technological and military wonders available at the time, humanity didn’t have a prayer. Nuclear weaponry devastated everything, leaving the world a smoldering husk.
Luckily, many countries had the foresight to prepare for such a disaster, and thousands of people in several continents had been able to pay to move into Vaults; these were more or less massive, fully equipped bomb shelters, deep beneath the surface and protected by thick steel on every inch of exterior wall. Huge, heavy doors, impossible to move by human hands, sealed the people inside. In this way, the people were protected from the fallout and radiation dangers for a long time. With dangerous levels down, people have now emerged and are trying to rebuild some sort of society. However, the new world is ridden with its own danger: bandits and criminals wander the street, unchecked by any sort of national law. The few large settlements that have formed provide themselves with some sort of rules and enforcement, but in the wasteland, anything goes. People aren’t the only problem, either; many animals went extinct, but those that didn’t have been mutated and changed by the radiation. Wolves now resemble horrid rotting demons, easily standing head and shoulders over the tallest men. At night, Skrill, black and weathered creatures that used to be bats, use the darkness to travel in teeming swarms and overwhelm victims. Lurks, humanoid toads with stumpy, disfigured, but muscular bodies, wait in the radiated water for someone to walk past. Far from lastly, but perhaps most terrifying of all, is the Dreadknul, a huge creature with a face like a disfigured fruit bat, a long dragonish body with grey skin and sparse patches of black fur, and vast bat-like wings. It stays out of sight during the day, and assaults the small settlements at night, normally followed by clouds of Skrill. Its attacks rarely leave the people unscathed.
You are a survivor in this world. Maybe you’ve only just emerged from your vault, or maybe you were born into this wasteland of an earth, but either way you’re now trying to build some sort of a life for yourself here. Will you be a criminal? A hero? A person all your own, concerned only with protecting your own life? That’s up to you.
No, I'm not the girl your mother warned you about.
Her imagination was never this good. <33

She's my main thing.
She makes me feel alright;
She makes my heart sing. ::
