((Again, trying to start a good role play. The rules of a good role play should be obvious....Anyway, feel free to join. :D))

They had been walking for hours, trudging through tall grass and thick piles of leaves, sloshing through mud and dust until their forelegs were filthy with the elements. The clouds above had been churning angrily in the sky all day, waiting for the right moment for a downpour. Laura hoped the rain would come after they had safely reached the nearest village. Her shoulders ached from carrying a medium sized wooden chest on her back, the contents of which clinked fragilely together. The last few steps she took were slumped over and sloppy, and her Sifu, a rather short sturdy man in his late thirties wearing long blue robes with loose pants and canvas shoes, rapped his knuckled across one sore shoulder.

“Don’t be sloppy!” He demanded, his dark blue eyes showing disappointment beneath dark furrowed brows.

“Balance at all costs! My precious things are in there, be careful and stand straight. Take each step with calculation.” He said, charging on through the tall grass of the meadow with ease, his own back free of pain and luggage.

She grumbled beneath her breath knowing better then to argue, straightening her back and continuing on behind him, her endurance waning at each step. Her long silky auburn hair hung in sweaty strands around her face, the thick braid down her back loose and untidy. Her velvety black panther ears lacked their previous luster, filmed with dust and being bitten by pestering flies. The only thing that did not seem to falter or tire was her fiery deep purple and gold streaked gaze, boring through the back of her Sifu’s head where his own untidy brown hair was held back by blue bandana around his forehead.

Finally, after what seemed like two hours, though it was only about twenty minutes, their destination could be seen through the trees. A small Kingdom lay before them, alit with with people and horses bustling through the streets, shopkeepers yelling and advertising to passer buyers. Walking through the dusty streets Laura noted that this place must have been well off, for she saw very little poverty and unhappiness.

Finally they reached the Inn. it was a tall stone, two story building with the nearby tavern connected at its side. Candle light flickered in the bottom front windows, showing warmth and merriment inside. The two went in an bought one room. They went upstairs and turned down the torch lit hallway, finding the door with a sloppy number 7 carved in to it. With the ancient silver key the Innkeeper gave them they unlocked the door and went inside, happy to see an overstuffed mattress, a table and three chairs, and a fireplace. Laura carefully took the heavy chest off her back and set it on the table, leaving it be to go sit near the window, watching as the rain finally broke through the angry clouds. She could hear the man bustling around the room momentarily before standing by the table and lifting the top of the chest, showing a heavily organized batch of glass bottles filled with bright liquids that swirled and boiled within their vials. There were also many valuable trinkets and other treasures. He did a careful inventory of the contents of the chest. After ten minutes or so he closed the lid and pat the chest like a cat and turned towards the real feline before him.

Laura looked at him from where she sat, eager for his answer. She saw a small smile cross his sturdy face, and grinned herself, knowing she’d accomplished his task. ‘Carry this for the next 5 leagues without breaking anything and you and I can have a session.’ He had said. “You did well. We may go whenever you please. The meadow just outside the Kingdom would be ideal. Even the rain might be fun,” he said looking past her for a moment out the window.

“Tomorrow morning is okay. I’m hungry and worn. Let us go to the tavern for food and drink.” She said standing and heading towards the door. Her Sifu, who’s name was really Drayton, nodded in agreement and before leaving with her, locked the chest of his possessions and lit a fire in the hearth.
