Anopsia High

In the kingdom of Illedrith, there was a tribe of peaceful people with amazing magical powers powered by light magic. However one day, during an unfortunate accident, many tribesmen were transformed and started to take on evil qualities. Along with the newly found qualities came new magic, dark magic - the absence of light. Soon the dark magic users, or Tenebrousants started to use their magic to wreak havoc on hte Luminousants (light magic users). The Luminosants endured this for years until they decided to break away from the main tribe and segregate the colours.

There was now thin but powerful line separating light magic (Lustrous) and dark magic (Nebulous). Cross the line, and you would risk being killed by the opposite colour of magic in a gruesome duel. However some Luminousants defied the new order and made friends with the Tenebrousants, and vice versa. However the power of the Tenebrousants was to strong and anyone who made friends with one was quickly stripped of all good and Lustrous, was converted to a Tenebrousant, and became filled with Nebulous.

This went of for millennia and eventually Nebulous lost the power to convert Luminousnats. When this happened, a school opened up for both colours, despite protests that left thousands dead. No one knew how it opened without permission, but it opened nonetheless. It was compulsory for all magical children to get educated there in spite of their magic colour; without being converted. The school was named Anopsia High, soon teens poured into the school and dorms filled quickly. There were still disagreements though. The school was constantly at war, Light against Dark, Good against Evil.

However a bigger trouble was brewing. A small nation, Gacra, is preparing to wage war against Illedrith. Although this won't happen for months, when it does the Tenebrousants and Luminosants may have to join together. But for now all they have to worry about is Anopsia High.

Faye opened her eyes and awoke from a sleepless night. She had the same nightmare again. It wouldn't go away no matter what she does. She tried to think of other things and she tried dream catchers. She even tried listening too music while asleep hoping the music will influence her dreams but that seemed to make it even worse. "Get ahold of yourself Faye, your supposed to be feared not fear, yourself." The young tenebrousant thought. She got completely out of bed and put on her school attire. When Faye opened the door she was cut off by a happy luminosant couple chasing each other through the hall. "Disgusting!" Faye said out loud, but deep inside and yearned for happiness. Her heart was dark and cold and it wasn't because she wanted it to. She was taken over by the dark power and it was proven hard to change back. She tries to enjoy her new found rebellious confidence as much as she can.

Faye walked down the hall and out the door that let to the outside to the highschool. She had some time before school started so she went to eat some breakfast at the near by Anopsia Cafe. It was owned by the school, and the students took turns working there. Faye remembered that she was asigned to work at the cafe tomorrow and "could NOT wait"


"Blah!" She expressed. She waited in line and ordered a chicken burger with a coke no ice. Faye didn't like to eat meat. Her insticts told her it was because she didnt like the taste but her heart told her it was because she didn't like the idea of harming animals. So why is she ordering chicken now? Has her heart finally turned totally black or is she just still asleep?

Percy unpacked his bag and looked around his room. In the center was a small bed, neatly folded. To the left of the bed was a small nightstand, and on the right, a lamp. On the far right side of the room, beyond the lamp, was a small bathroom; on the far left side was a bookshelf, next to that was the dresser into which Percy had deposited his clothes. After surveying the room Percy took, off his shoes, climbed into his bed, and decided to take a morning slumber and then explore the campus.

After forcing himself wake up, Percy put on his black converse, grabbed his navy blue Adidas bag (which had a variety of magical and non-magical items in it), and started out the door to explore campus. The first thing he noticed was that hardly any of the Tenebrousants looked him in the eye, almost as if they were disgusted at him. The second ting he noticed was that if they did look him in the eye it was usually to give him a non-verbal threat. Percy felt as if every Tenebrousant was his enemy and that they should hate each other. However that thought that changed when he saw a beautiful red haired Tenebrousant at the cafe. All of a sudden he was struck by a feeling he had never felt before, he had to be close to her, but he couldn't. Like the rest of "her kind", she would more than likely hate him. So Percy picked up a melon sized rock he found outside and went back to his room to think of a plan to win her heart.

Once in his room Percy took out the rock he had taken. He then started to concentrate of her image, once he could see it, he punched the rock with all his strength. This act would of hurt anyone else, but Percy could manipulate earth. Now laying right in front of him was a bust of the mysterious girl Percy saw at the cafe. After a close examination and a few minor changes Percy put the statue on top of his dresser, surrounded it with candles (which he lit with his power, Alterating), and adorned with flowers. Seeing that his shrine was complete. Percy went to sleep, again, before his classes begun.

After waking, Percy looked at his watch and found himself late! As he hurried to class he put on his converse, grabbed his bag, and snatched his textbook from the bookshelf. Upon arriving late to class he was scolded and told to sit down. As he was looking for a seat he found that the colours were separated, so half the room had one magic aura and the other half another (although the separation was not mandatory the students found it natural). Percy, not wanting to make a scene, sat in the very back on the Luminousant side. All during the class he found himself thinking of his crush he nicknamed "Tenebeauty", for he knew not her name. While the teacher wasn't looking he would make air currents in front of his desk, to make an image of "Tenebeauty". Although people noticed they didn't get a chance to tell the teacher, for as soon as they appeared they were gone within a second.

Jimothi had been walking around campus for quite some time waiting for classes to start. He'd hoped that something really interesting would have happened but sadly, most people seemed to keep to themselves, or at least they kept to their "own side".
He noticed it was time to get to class and began walking back to the classroom, he sat down in the middle of the room on the same side as all the other Tenebrousants sat. He really didn't want to draw too much attention to himself. Yet.
One who did get a lot of attention was the boy who was late. Jimothi instinctively guessed that he was a luminosant, and he sat down on the other side of the room too so there was no doubt. He looked around in the room, mainly keeping his eyes on the luminosants, and when one of them looked in his direction he'd quickly lower his head or stare up at the teacher.
He noticed how the boy from before was playing around with wind making it shape images in front of him, and almost fell down from his chair in amazement."What an extraordinary gift. Maybe I should try and talk to him? What if he'd just get scared and run away or something... No. I've definately got to talk to him." He thought to himself.

Faye took a bite from her burger and chewed the meat slowly. Faye was slowly losing her mind to the dark side. She been starting to think of evil things, from pranking a few luminousants to taking over the world. She would fight that thought and rid it from her head but it always comes back. Succumbing to her new tenebousant mind she took another bite from her meat burger. Her face looking blank as she chewed. Her blue eyes filled with sorrow, not wanting to look anywhere but down.

Faye finished her meal just in time for class. She took her black strapped bag and hung it over her shoulder. She walked out of the cafe and arrived at the school. With two minutes left before class Faye had a decision to make... Does she really want to go to class today or go back to her room and sit in the corner worrying about her new dark soul. One choice too her to the right the other to her left. She stood in the middle wondering which sounded more meaningful. She chose to go to her left, the route that would take her to the dorms. Her decision was made easily as tears dropped from her face. Faye was tough, she never cried and wanted to keep that status up. She didnt want anyone to see her crying so she chose to sit in a corner in her room. She walking a fast walk that didn't necessarily keep attention off of her but she didn't care, as long as no one could see her face. Walking towards her door she took her key out and unlocked it opening up to her safe haven. She walked in and plopped on the bed landing on her stomach with her head barried deep in the sheets. Faye stayed there for a while, trying to get in touch with the real Faye that used to be.

With luminousant strenght Faye got up from her depressed state and felt inspired to go to class. She cleaned up her tears not being able to hide the redness around her eyes. Class has already started and Faye forgot the fact that she would get in trouble for being late. She ran to get there as fast as she can but definitely didnt arrive on time. She walked in and got a mean look from the teacher. Her status kept her face from showing any care or regret. She walked to her favorite seat in the back of the tenebousant side sitting next to a light magic user that had black hair with red bangs. She looked down and noticed his black converse and smiled at the boys style. She didn't hate it, it was actually pretty good, but it didn't match the whole vibe he let off. He was a light user and has a clean fresh aura that made Faye feel nostalgic.

Percy took his attention off of his Air Alteration when he saw that he wasn't the only one late. He would have just normally ignored the distraction, but he realized that this girl was the one at the cafe. He quickly looked down at his textbook, in the corner of his eye he could see that she had chosen to sit next to him. Percy got nervous and started to sweat. Not wanting to show his nervousness, Percy Aterated his sweat off of his body and into the teachers open water bottle. Hopefully no one would notice.

Percy noticed that she was looking at him and smiling, he blushed. He hoped she wouldn't notice. To make sure she didn't, Percy controlled the blood flow to his skin by Alterating the water and iron in his blood. Although he knew it was extremely dangerous, and there be excruciating pain; he felt it was worth it. It wasn't. Instead of stopping the blushing he increased it. "Crap," he murmured.

Eventually he stop blushing and he decided to send her a note. He tore a piece of paper from his notepad and wrote "Hello". He then folded it, made as aero dynamic as he could, Alterated an air current from his desk to hers, and sent it. He hoped she would notice it and accept it. Despite the fact he was a Luminousant.

Faye noticed her friend Jimothi was sitting 2 seats down from her and she decided to call to him but before she even began, a note flew on her desk. It landed perfectly infront of her which meant the person who sent it has control over the air. She look at the luminousant next to her and opened the note. Hello

A smile appeared on Faye's face. She didn't mind but this must hhave been a mistake. He was a Luminousant, why would he send her a note. The room was divided for a reason and she didnn't think this guy got the point. She used her power and created a crystal in front of him. It was smalla nd shaped like one that would fill a whole of a dimond ring. The pink crystal scratched an "H" on his desk, making a loud carving noise. Faye didn't care that now everyone was watching her distroy school property and talk to a Luminousant. Her crystal scratched an "I" next. She left it at that and made her crystal dissappear with a puff of pink smoke, making sure it floated right in the guys face.

This was her way of saying "Hello" back to a Luminousant. It's not that she hated them but her mind made her unable to trust one so quickly. She sat in her seat calmly, but hoping for a responce back.

Jimothi was slightly surprised that the luminousant had been brave, or perhaps stupid, enough to try and establish contact to a Tenebrousant, but he was even more surprised that Faye did not ignore him. Jimothi had for as long as he'd known Faye always been under the impression that she really, really disliked Luminousants. But then again, he hadn't known her for a long time. Hm. Well, maybe she doesn't hate them then? Very interesting. He resumed looking up at the teacher but found whatever it was he was saying to be extremely boring. So instead of listening he began daydreaming of things such as food and sleep. Good, nice things. Although he did glance over at Faye every once in a while, just to see if something more interesting would happen.

Percy waited for a reply, and was almost going to go back to the lesson. When he saw something pink in his peripheral vision, glass. No. It was a crystal. He wanted to pick it up when he realized it was moving! It wasn't just moving it was carving something, a letter? Yes it was a letter, 'H'. "What is that supposed to mean?" Then he saw that it wasn't finished, it kept carving until there were two letters permanentely marked on the desk. "HI," it read. Percy was going to grab the crystal but as quickly as it appeared, it disapeared and all that was left was a puff of pink smoke in front of his face.

Percy was to stunned to react, he had hoped she would reply but the chances were slim. Percy wrote another note, but before sending it he Alterated fire to burn the first note, just the note; for he didn't want her to have to worry about hiding it. He then folded the note, but before he sent it he hesitated, because he felt it wasn't enough. After all, she risked being shunned by 'others of her kind' by replying. A plain paper note just wouldn't do it, there's got to be something better, but what. Then he thought of it, he Alterated a sheet of blank paper onto her desk with air. After that he used Fire Alteration to burn a message into it, "Thank you so much for replying, whats...," he ran out of writing space. "Crap! I should work on that," he murmured. He sent her another sheet, and wrote, "Up?" He hoped she might reply again, it was a stretch.

Kira and Akumi had been together all morning getting to know each other. It was there 3rd meeting since they found out about one another, Kira was overly excited while Akumi was calm and siren. They talked, well Kira did most of the talking, they had forgotten about class, when they noticed what time it was Kira got up quickly "Oh my gosh Akumi we're late come ON!" Kira said quickly and grabbed her dark blue bag with a silver thick threads around it and grabbed Akumi's arm. Akumi grabbed her black bag with a red thick threads around it and got pulled by Kira, they both ran to class as fast as they could, mostly Kira. Kira knew they would get in trouble but she thought it was worth it because she was getting to know her long lost twin sister. When they arrived Kira opened the door quickly and interrupted the class. The stepped inside Akumi calmly and not out of breath and Kira as calmly as possible but totally out of breath. They teacher scolded them for being late, Kira apologized but Akumi didn't she stayed quiet the whole time elegant and posed. Kira directed her gaze to the sits and so did Akumi, all the student gazed at them with surprise and disgust in some of them. Kira and Akumi expect this, Kira just smiled her pale blue eyes sparkled while Akumi gave a smirk and showed a hint of glee in her red dark eyes that usually where emotionless and blank. They still had there arms locked together not letting go, they were showing that they were friends and hoped they got the hint they both were also related, due to them looking alike except different personalties and colors.

((This is frustrating… I posted this once and my comp. signed off so I had to write it again and it was soooooooooo long haha))

Crystal prisms enclosed Faye’s classmates suffocating them until they perished. She saw a black haired Luminousant holding her throat trying to breathe in air that no longer was. She was dying with every breathless minute that passed. Faye didn’t forget the teacher. She created a crystal spear that dug into his stomach until it poked through to the other side. Blood poured out by the gallons bringing her teacher to a slow but gory death.

Faye shook her head trying to get rid of her evil thoughts. She was angry at everyone for making a big deal about her responding to the Luminousant. If wasn’t like she actually cared or thought of him as a friend. Right? She didn’t care… Right? She tried to convince herself.

”So, how long until the Tenebrousant takes over my mind completely.” She asked herself. Faye was worried about her mind and continuously thought about it, except when she was talking to the Luminousant that said “Hello.” He made her feel happy, she was sure that if she got closer she would begin to have happy thoughts. She needed to be closer to him, and she meant physically.

A paper floated gracefully in front of Faye and the words, “Thank you so much for replying, Whats…” burned into it with small controlled flames. Whats? What whats? She wanted to know but before she said anything another paper flew next to her. “Up?” She laughed. Mostly to herself but her laugh could be heard by everyone in her class. To hear Faye laugh was rare. NO! It was nearly impossible. People turned and stared. Faye could smell shock and worry in the air. Everyone was shocked that they heard even a slight sound come from her and some worried that she was losing her mind.

Faye didn’t care what people thought but she didn’t want her image to fade. She was supposed to be tough. She didn’t need people thinking she was losing her mind. She looked at Jimothi and wanted to silently ask him a question. She secretly materialized a sheet of crystal on his desk with a message inscribed in it. The message was small enough for anyone sitting a little further away to have difficulties reading it but big enough for Jimothi to read perfectly fine. “Is it that bad?” She asked him, wondering if her friend thought of her as weird.
She then created a red crystal statue of herself on the Luminousants desk. The statue moved her facial features implying that she was bored, then slumped in a crystal desk further portraying her uninterested mind. A blue crystal statue of the guy appeared next to Faye’s mini. The red statue motioned to the blue one asking “How about you?” silently by extending her hand towards him. Faye smiled at her mini puppet show and awaited an answer.

Percy saw how people were staring at his new Tenebrousant aqauntince, which made him VERY angry. His anger had overriden his good Luminousant instinct, and he wanted to Alterate fire upon all the staring heads and burn their hair. He was about to, when a crystal mini of "Tenebeauty" and her desk appeared on his desk. He was shocked. His shock continued when the mini moved and showed her emotion! She was bored. Percy calmed himself down, but was startled again when another statue appeared. He recognized this one, it was... him!

As Percy's heart raced he kept his eyes glued on the statues, and watch as Her statue extended arm toward his. Percy didn't know what She wanted him to do. Then it hit him; she wanted to know how he was! Percy was bored too, but he didn't know how to move the statue. Then he remembered he could Alterate earth, maybe he could Alterate the statue! "Crystal is earth. Right?" Percy thought to himself, "but what if Her's is different? It's worth a shot". Percy concentrated; it was difficult because Her crystal was slightly different from normal crystal. However he managed to move his statues face, to show him yawning. Percy then moved it again, this time he moved his statues hands to say, "What's your name," in ISN (Illedrithian Sign Language); hopefully she knew enough to understand him

Kira and Akumi walked over to a couple of sits that were available, off course Kira sat at the side with the Luminousant and Akumi with the Tenebrousant but there sits were right next to each other which was very lucky for them. Kira opened her bag and took out her text book and a notebook and pencil. Akumi only took out her notebook and pencil, she didn't care about caring textbooks and such travail things in her bag. Akumi looked boredly at the teacher, Kira in the other hand started to write and draw random things in her notebook, even though they were twin sisters they didn't want to interrupt the teacher, they had already once, they would get there chance to hang out after class so they minded there own business till then and ignored the stares and whispers, but Akumi was getting very annoyed.

Percy had been so caught up with Her, he hadn't noticed that there were more late kids. He noticed they were of opposite colors and were holding hands, he found it unusual until he noticed their similarity. They were related. As he waited for Her to respond Percy, anonymously greeted the girl with the Nebulous aura by giving her a drink of water. Well you could call it a drink, it was more like Percy altering water from the teacher’s bottle and sticking it in her mouth.

Percy thought he was doing her a favor; since she seemed so out of breath. However he forgot he had Alterated his sweat into the teacher's water bottle earlier. Percy quickly Alterated the water back into the bottle before she could taste it. "Man, I fell sorry for the teacher," thought Percy. Then he went back to the statue conversation to avoid any more trouble.

JImothi sat silently and watched everyone else around him, he found it strange that bonds crossing the borders of Tenebrousant and Luminosant were formed so quickly. He listened in on a whispering conversation between two girls next to him, and realized they were talking about the two newly-arrived girls. Obviously they were related... or just very, very much alike. But none the less they did not sit in the same side of the room ... So, those two aren't the same kind, but they're family. Faye and that guy aren't the same either but they're still... Communicating? None of them seems to care what others thi.. Huh? A sheet of crystal materialized on his desk with small letters on it, "Is it that bad?" He snickered and looked over at her. He wanted to express that he was more than fine with her talking to the Luminosants, but he couldn't very well use his power to do that. People were probably not gonna be super exited about having barbed wire or other stuff moving around over their heads, so instead he just shook his head and smiled. His smile grew bigger as he turned his head and looked up at the clock, only to discover that class was gonna be over soon.

Faye waited for a response and it seemed as though the guy didn't know how to respond. Then the blue statue moved. Faye gasped in horror. She never knew anyone could move her crystals, and she definitely wasn’t moving it herself. This upset Faye very much. She knew she had to work harder to make her crystals foolproof and indestructible. She only hoped someday she will be able to create and manipulate diamonds, and knowing Faye, she would work extremely hard until she surpasses her goal.

Faye made a note to herself to train harder, but quickly forgot it so she could respond to the Luminousant that said, “Hello.” His mini looked bored. He was bored just like Faye. ”Thank heavens, class is almost over,” she thought to herself not even thinking about her words or how the word heaven clashes with her being a Tenebrousant. She kept looking at his statue as it signed something in Illedrithian Sign Language. Faye didn’t know a lot of sign language, however she did know what that meant. Before she turned into a Tenebrousant she had a deaf light user friend. They would mostly talk through their powers; which is how Faye knew how to reply to the guy; or her friend would teach her some sign language.

Faye didn’t know enough to reply back, so she got up in the middle of class and walked behind the guy. She lowered herself to level with his ear and whispered, “Faye.” She held her position and waited for the guy to respond. She was expecting him to say his name back. She didn’t feel the need to ask him, it seemed obvious.

The teacher noticed the rebel get up and talk to someone that wasn’t her kind. He would have said something if she was a dark magic user but her wasn’t. He was nice and scared. Faye was tough, maybe not in her mind but on the outside she was. The teacher knew if he even acknowledged her a little bit he would get an evil stare not just from her but from the rest of the dark magic users. The tenebrousants stick together and the teacher knew that. He feared that they would use their magic if they were angry enough. He was too young to die, so he looked away and paid no attention to the flirting girl and boy.

While Faye was beside the boy, she felt lighter. Her whole body tingled with light magic and her evil thoughts were nowhere to be found. She looked around the class to see if anyone else noticed but two twins caught her eye. They looked exactly the same but one was good the other was bad. It was easy to tell by their expression who was a Luminousant and who was a Tenebrousant; and also their outfits and locations also gave it away. She wondered why they separated sides. The good girl sat on the light side and the other on the dark. This was incomprehensible to Faye, if she had a light twin she would break the color barrier and sit on the light side.

Faye couldn’t get her eyes off of the twins that, to her, seemed so different from the rest of the kids. She stared until something, or someone, caught her eye. Jimothi was shaking his head and smiling at Faye. ”Good, he read it.” She was glad that her little flirting game wasn’t too bad. She knew she shouldn’t care about the other kind but she did and there was nothing she could do now. She smiled back at Jimothi and focused all her attention to the guy in front of her, wanting to know his name so badly.

Percy was worried that She didn’t know, ISL. The worry was diminished as She go up from her seat, and walked behind his chair. Percy's heart rate doubled and he was blushing, but he didn't care. She bent down to his level, and he heard Her whisper, "Faye"."That's her name, Faye. What a magnificent name, Faye." Percy couldn't stop thinking it, "Faye. Faye. Faye." "I should tell her my name" "Percy," he whispered back, “I can manipulate the elements, I call it Aterating. I see you can control crystals, do you have other powers?"

He had to choose his words carefully. He had never been good at talking and socializing; he didn't want to offend her. He noticed that when he was around her his thought were a little darker. He was being affected by her Nebulous, but he didn't care. Maybe Faye was being affected by his Lustrous?

Kira looked at the boy who had greeted her and smiled and waved a no to his offer for a drink,kindly, Akumi noticed this and looked at him, she was reading his aura and noticed the other girl he seemed to be "talking" to him and chuckled and sat down at her sit facing foward, Kira did the same. Akumi was already getting bored by the teacher and it had only been 10 minutes since she had sat down, she groaned in boredum then turn to see what Kira was doing, Kira was just doodling things into her notebook. But not your typical girl hearts and flowers but castles with bats, monsters and the teacher being attacked by them. Akumi giggled under her breath, Kira turned around and giggled to, even though Kira was a Luminsount she loved making fun of her teachers because they all were always so boring and "by-the-book" types. Kira motioned Akumi to come sit with her, Akumi looked at her and smiled, she looked up at the teacher and shrugged boredly. She got up and went to the sit next her sister in the Luminsount side calmly like as if it was natrual,then pushed there sits together. They started drawing things ignoring the teacher completly, Akumi thought if the teacher did anything she could just make the shadows around and eat him up. "hey hey Akumi check this out" Kira said happily in a whisper and put her hands over a water bottle that was opened, she motioned her hands and the water came out and swirled into a ball, Kira then blow on it turning it into an ice ball and started to change its shape until it took the form of a sakura petal and let it land on her cupped hands. She looked at Akumi and smiled "wow you've gotten better Kira" Akumi said normally but a bit quiet just liker her usual tone. "hehehe thanks its hard to actaul turn the water into ice but once I get it it turns out good" Kira said in a whisper. The both where like in their own little world at those moments happaned, they noticed, when they were together.

Jimothi was about to jump out of his seat and clap at Faye and the guy she was flirting with. He found it so amusing that no one objected, not even the teacher, but then again, that was completly understandeable, nobody would ever want to go against a Tenebrousant when half of the room was filled with them. Almost all Tenebrousants were protective of their own kind, especially with Luminosants around.

Jimothi kept looking up at the clock, wishing that time would just go by a little faster. But then the twins caught his attention. One of them moved to the other side of the room, and they sat giggling and wispering.

Finally the teacher seemed to notice that none of the students really care about the lesson and mumbled in a rather joyless tone. "Okay. Class is over..."

Akumi and Kira both at the same time looked up to hear the news of class being over. "Yay" Kira said happily and turning to Akumi then started to put her things back to her bag, Akumi smiled and did the same. Kira got up and puched her chair in. "Hey Akumi want to leave the desk like this for tommorrow?" Kira asked her sister happily. Akumi looked at her "Yeah, sure I hate the sitting orders its pretty depressing if you ask me, aren't Luminousnats and Tenebrousants suppose to socialize" Akumi said in a annoyed yet gleeful tone like if she was taunting someone, Kira just laughed "Let's go explore a bit more of the school before heading to eat" Kira said happily, Akumi nodded and looked back at the desk and picked up the sakura petal her sister had made "What are you going to do with this Kira?" Kira took it gently "ummmmm I don't know? should I melt? I think that's maybe that's best" Kira said and placed her left hand over her right that had the ice and melted it. The water full in her hand she made a motion and made the water go into a near by plant "there now the plant is watered" Kira said laughing, Akumi chuckled and put her bag over her shoulder, well Kira just carried it with her hands.
