Chapter One
A world wrought in chaos, menacing with a plague. Beauty has eroded slowly. Everything is dwelling, waiting to unleash a power that has tormented the earth for centuries. History washed away in the richness of Time, itching away the culture of the people that has roamed the world for centuries. Everything is dying.
*"History will be writ in Destruction"*
Black clouds worked its way over the small village on the rolling plains north of the Kingdom of Chagrin. Midnight had fallen and roamers made their way into the Inns of the village. Magic flowed, in essence, over the village and the smell of rain emerged through the empty streets of the city. A green light shined on the high cliff that over looked the village, unnoticeable to the naked eye, but was deadly to touch.
A skeletal hand reached out over the cliff and pointed to the city, the green light shot from the staff the other skeletal hand was holding and buried into the clouds. Cut cloth and chain mail rested on the body, and the hood of the cloth hid his face. He had been dead for years, maybe decades, and he was cursed to taking souls for eternity. His name was Fire, born in the realm of Magic, being reborn into the realm where chaos had its way. Had he not been born again, the Realm of Chaos would not have magic, thus destroying purposes of knowledge. There was a price in doing so and he took it, not knowing what it was and not seeing it as it truly meant. But, he had done it, and so it was, teaching the world of Magic and succeeding in life dubbed the title, "Knowledge Giver". Life was great for him, until old age called for him, and he was reborn yet again as the Dead.
"Goodbye." He whispered, as his voice carried into the thin air seeping through the clouds with his magic. Lightning lit up the night sky and thunder followed it instantly. A force to be reckoned with and would make children tremble with fear, the rain fell, catching onto anything it touches, and creating dense puddles in the holes children dug in the earth. A purple light struck the metal pole that stuck from the house, it bended, cracking and falling slowly into the brown roof exposing the rain into the house.
Striking again, destroying the trees sending them to their fiery doom and crashing into more houses. Screams shot into the night sky, as lightning and thunder crashed into the houses and Fire watched, laughing. Boldly, the rain washed the blood away, as the last scream stopped and the clouds went away. The green light shot back into the orb on the wooden staff Fire held, he carried it off of the cliff, and made his way down to the village for survivors.

~!*!~

"Mother, please. You must let me get back to the village; I want to look for survivors." A young girl, maybe in her teen years, looked at her mother who was lying on the ground. They both shared the same features, dark blue eyes, black hair, and pale to almost translucent skin. They were the ones who kept the village in order, letting no one in with an ID and criminal record and seeing that no fights were broken out in town. The young girl, Veera, stared into the eyes of her mother, Allesandra, and her eyes danced back and forth with tears swelling from the death of her friends.
"Veera, you know that there are-" She looked into her daughter’s eyes trying not to cry, "No s-survivors." Her mother whispered, breathing heavily into the daylight air. The birds chirped and the white clouds lit up the day sky. Morning had came, and only two survivors made it out of town before the rain started. "But, if you must, you will go without me."
Veera stood, waiting for herself to push out words that hung in her mouth, "Why don't you want to come?"
Allesandra ached to get up, her shirt in the back stuck with the skin instead of hanging loose. "This is why..." She pointed to her back as blood kept dripped from her back, off her shirt and then made its way to the soft green grass. She seemed to have started the bleeding over night, slowly dying, just like the world.
The teenage girl had tears rolling down her cheek, she didn't want her mom dead, her mom was the only one left she had, "I-I will be back, Mother, you need to rest and get your strength." She reached down to hug Allesandra, in that instant, a pain shot in her neck, like the kind when you are bitten by a snake with poisonous fangs, she ached and fell on the ground.
"Daughter, Daughter, are you all right?" Straining to get up she looked over her daughter seeing what was wrong but knew she could not help. Veera just looked at her, not saying a word and not making even a slight movement. She couldn't speak, couldn't move, and couldn't think properly. Destruction had its own way, forcing into her body, penetrating her skin. She lay on the ground, closing her eyes as her mother cried over her body.
A gloved hand grabbed onto the bleeding woman's shoulder, Allesandra felt a cold chill run across her back as she turned around staying close to her daughter. The person she was staring at hidden their body, not even a slight part of the body showing, not even the face. Allesandra just stared at the person touching her shoulder until she got the urge to say something, "And you are?" She said in a rude manner that was not like her.
"I am a healer, a worker in the castle of Chagrin. The Queen Atara found out about the destruction of the village and sent her best healers." The cloaked man said, looking into the eyes of the sorrowed mother.
"T-Thank you for coming, but there are only two survivors left. A-And I fear my daughter is dead." Allesandra burst into tears as she cried onto Veera's silky black dress. The man kneeled down and looked into the eyes of both women; they were both dead on the inside, and wanted nothing more but a happy life again. That was not going to happen for a lifetime in this realm, but he need not worry about them.
"She is breathing, slowly but unnoticeable. Wounds going across her neck," He paused to look at the wounds that had appeared there in her attack a while ago and continued on, "they look like they were just made. Had she been in an attack any time soon?" He let her head drop down to the floor and turned back to Allesandra.
"She had fell, without warning, her body just shut down." Allesandra just looked at her daughter on the ground, not knowing how the man would help her. She didn't even notice her mistake in her speech before she could speak the man laughed.
"We need to get her to the castle, but her body is fragile. Her brain is not working properly and thus her bones are weaker." The cloaked man said standing up and looking down at the girl and her mother, "Oh, and my name is Fire."
