New Character to Tryout

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Conumbra on Fri Mar 26, 2010 4:15 pm

Well I have a new character and I wanted to see what he would be like in a fight. Standard rules apply, no time manipulation nor teleporting, no godmodding etc. etc. The fight will be in an urban environment so expect tall buildings and other things that you would find in a city. But anyway here's my character, Vince Crager. I will make the first post. Reply here when you wish to challenge me.

Vince casually flew around the city, safe inside his Duo suit, which protected him from the winds caused by the speed at which he was flying at. The sun was safely up in the sky and the cars below him were busy rolling along on their daily business to lunch or some other thing. He frankly couldn't care less about those cars or their intentions. He was going to steal the rare Amazonian diamond which had just been delivered to the museum. He had heard that the security surrounding it was of the highest caliber and he wanted to test out his skills.

When he got to the museum he landed on the glass roof, smiling at the gleaming diamond below. Soon that magnificent gem would be his, all his. Normally a person would have to either break or cut through the glass but he knew a much more efficient method. He carefully aimed his heat ray at the glass and fired at it in a circle big enough to let him through. The ray caused the glass to melt and form a perfect circle which allowed him entry. He then carefully flew down so that he was beside the diamond. Being careful to be quiet he thrusted his hand through the glass display, the suit protecting him from the deadly shards. He casually picked up the diamond which triggered an alarm that he frankly couldn't care less about. Any police that showed up wouldn't be able to make a dent in him. This was why he flew out of the museum a little too confidently, probably giving off his location to the police but he knew they couldn't hurt hm. He then flew his way back to his apartment building.

(I would love to take Sprittez up against this guy, if that's alright with you. http://rphl.webs.com/ls.htm#Sprite)

Sprittez's ears perked up as the alarm sounded. She let out a small growl in frustration, thinking back to the map Clam had shown her earlier. The diamond shouldn't have been too far from where she was, so she made a dash down the route that had been originally planned. Her wings were partially unfurled, ready to sweep her off of her feet and away from danger if she needed to.
Sprittez skidded to a halt as she came to where the diamond should have been. As it was, it looked like Sprittez had been beaten to the punch. She growled again, her ears catching the sound of guards.
Sprittez surged forward, sniffing the area around and in the case where the diamond had been, hoping she could track the scent's owner.
"What in the--?" Sprittez turned and stared at the guards that looked at her in wonder. Her ear twitched, and she beat her wide wings, letting herself go straight through the ceiling. As she landed on the rooftop, she caught the sight of someone flying off in the distance, and faintly caught their scent on the wind. Her eyes narrowed--this was the one who had stolen the diamond out from under her nose. She took off after the person, gliding and keeping an eye on where they landed. An apartment building, how quaint. She landed, unworried about her long ears, wings, or tail.
"Oi, buddy, you've got something of mine," she called, glaring at him.

Duo smiled as the strange rapture-like creature threatened him. From her skin, her hair and her eyes she appeared to be just a normal girl, except that's where the similarities ended. From what Duo could see she appeared to have a raptor-like tail along with incredibly large ears that almost made her look like some kind of elf. In fact Duo wasn't really sure if she was an elf or not, or whatever twisted process of nature could create such an amalgamation of traits but he didn't care. This...thing was blocking his escape route with the diamond and he didn't frankly care what she was, only that she was going down.

He inwardly smiled inside of his helmet and motioned his arm, ready to throw the diamond directly at her. After winding up he threw the diamond, but immediately targeted it with his heat laser. The diamond acted like a disco ball, sending the heat beam in all directions as the diamond flew through the air. The laser had enough heat in it to melt glass, he had no doubt in his mind that if she was hit by the laser, she would certainly be cooked, if not cut through. While the diamond was acting like a miniature disco ball, he readied the freeze gun attached to his other arm.

Sprittez crouched as the man--at least, it smelled like a man--wound up his arm. She was ready for most kinds of attack, but not quite the one that was executed. The diamond flew towards her, and she almost leaped after it, until she noticed the other thief's hand. Instead, she leaped back, keeping her wings up and bringing up a shield of ice in between herself and the laser that still managed to easily slice through her defenses. As the laser worked on her ice, she leaped into the air and stroked down hard with her wings, trying to get above her opponent and knock the diamond off of its course.

She had to have been at least twenty feet above the armored man when she dropped. Sprittez let icicles as long as her forearm rain down before her, aiming for his head and shoulders. She hoped it would be a decent enough distraction to her main attack: the icy thorns for which were already forming on her legs.

Duo pulled out the freeze ray on his right arm and created a layer of ice stretching from the ground to the top of his head. He aimed the gun at such an angle that the incoming icicles merely collided with the ice barrier, splintering into pieces. After the icicles finished colliding with the shield he began to build up the shield in front of him until it began to form a barrier that encircled him, protecting him from harm. However he left the back way open just in case he had to make a quick escape from his current situation. He smirked; let her try to get through that.

Sprittez's leg made contact with the ice shield, and pain seared up to her thigh. She clenched her teeth in pain and leaped back off of the icy shield. A smile spread across her face: like fire against a dragon.
Sprittez concentrated on the that had been formed as a barrier between her and her opponent, hoping to make it turn to water as quickly as possible so as to not alert her opponent. She melted going from the outside in. When she thought it was thin enough in the right place, she took a step back before creating a spike of thick, solid ice that jutted out of her kneecap and leaped forward. She was ready with her wings for a quick dodge as she rammed her knee through the ice and, hopefully, into her opponent's leg at least.

Duo smirked as his opponent jumped off of the ice shield. This fight would be more easily won then he had previously thought. However things were not over yet. He had barely enough time to react as his opponent grew a gigantic ice spike on her kneecap and jumped towards him. Out of instinct he shot at her general direction as she jumped through the ice with his heat laser. Id she didn't dodge the beam of light in time she would be severely burned where the laser hit her, which depending on where that hit was, could potentially be life threatening for her.

Sprittez didn't expect fire to come bursting out of the ice, and her forward momentum didn't help any. She managed to tilt to the left by putting weight on that leg, but her right shoulder, along with part of the muscle on her right wing, were grazed, and she roared out her displeasure. Her tail slashed back and forth, and she decimated a good hunk of the rest of the ice shield.
Sprittez tucked her right wing back as much as she could without agitating the burn. She healed pretty fast, but it would be a while before the burns didn't sting anymore.
Task one was to take out the guns, and for that she would probably need her raptor strength. That wasn't going to be an option at this point though, and Sprittez knew it.
Sprittez jumped away from her opponent and formed icy plates over her two burns. She growled, showing her fangs and growing icy spikes on her legs and hips. She then pulled a slightly sneakier maneuver, one she had been practicing with Nick: As she charged forward, seemingly helker-skelter, she kept herself ready to dodge in any direction as she made a slick patch of ice in a good ten-foot circle and growing behind her opponent. If she could, she was about to headbutt him straight back into it and get him flat on his ass.

Duo gave out a small chuckle as his opponent recoiled from the burning sensation that she probably experienced. He also saw her put small shields of ice over the burn wounds. This meant that she could control ice which was not a good things seeing as one of his main weapons was built around the usage of ice. He would have to be careful using that weapon around her. He duly noted this for future concerns. He also noticed her tactic of creating spikes around her major joints, probably used to cause extra damage to people she faced. But he knew his battle would be far easier in the air. Suddenly his opponent began to move in a very erratic pattern and so, rather then trying to predict her movements, he simply decided the change the field of play they were on. He duly fired up the jet pack on his back which sent him soaring into the sky at breakneck speeds, and so he just missed being pushed into the ice circle. With the momentum she was going at would help to push her into the circle herself. He turned downwards towards her and fired down another burst from his laser though this time it was continuous. If she was caught in the blast she'd keep getting burned until she managed to move.

Up. That wasn't quite what Sprittez expected to happen, but she wasn't taken completely by surprise. She leaped up after him, making a strong downstroke with her wings. The wound on her right wing rumbled in pain, but she had the tolerence for it: her job demanded such. She forced herself to repeat the action until she propelled herself out of the laser beam's path: one that looked rather painful.
Sprittez came even with the man, keeping her wingbeats steady despite the wound. She reused the ice below, having it form into icicles and come flying up at the man in his suit. Above the man, however, a large sphere of icicles came raining down, magically told where to go by Sprittez.
She stayed far out of the blast range, ready to go in any direction as she had the ice close in on all sides.

Duo noticed the ice coming up to meet him from two sides, from above and from below. He knew he didn't have much time to dodge so he simply went on instinct. He didn't go either up nor down. Instead he went straight ahead, towards his opponent. If he was lucky he would grab her and perchance slam her into a building or some other large object. If he was unsuccessful he would simply have to avoid those deadly icicles. But, so that he might not have to get chased by them, he fired his heat ray at both streams of icicles before turning back to where his opponent was with his hands outstretched, ready to grab her and slam her into a wall.

Sprittez saw her opponent coming, and was ready.
She let gravity do its job, tucking her wings in and falling to earth. A good ten-twenty feet above the ground she snapped out her wings and glided forward. She turned intangible, passing straight through a building and ducking out of the fight just long enough to change her form.
Sprittez returned in a flash, breaking out of a window in the shape of a large, blue raptor with wings. She still had the two burns, but they healed faster this way, and would soon be gone. She landed on the ground and leaned forward, screeching up challengingly at the person in the suit. Sneaking up on her would be almost impossible: her already-good sense of smell was amplified.
She wanted him down on the ground, and there were two ways she could do this. Above the man in the suit she formed two icicles, so cold that they wouldn't be melted so easily. If those didn't bring him down, she was already preparing her next attack by drawing in deep breaths.

(Sorry for the delay, I've been a bit out of it this week.)

Duo did not have enough time to react to the larger than normal icicles and even though he tried to outrun them with the jetpack, he only got partly away from them before the icicles hit. If it weren't for the suit, he was sure his leg would have been pierced clean through, but thanks to the material of the suit, the icicle grazed his surface with some shallow cuts. However most of the damage was what the icicle's momentum did. It pushed him down and disrupted his flight plan so he glided down onto a rough landing on a small house's roof. He bounced and bounded for a few feet, the suit being the only thing preventing him from broken bones, though he would most certainly be covered in bruises. After finally stopping his bouncing, he tried to get up, experiencing numerous amounts of pain but being able to get through them. He looked around the building before spraying the surrounding area with ice. If she decided to climb up the building she would be met with a nasty surprise, though because he had seen her become intangible he stayed on guard anyway in case she came through the roof.

Sprittez's large head swung as her eyes followed the man in the suit. The chain dangling from her lip jingled faintly as she took off running after the man, her feet solidly contacting with the ground. She made her way quickly around buildings, stopping at the base of the one the man was atop. She smelt cold above her, but she also smelt him, and more importantly, his blood. She leaped, clinging onto the building with her thick claws. Stone and mortar fell away as she climbed, and whatever ice had made its way onto the building's side was no match. She hauled her thick body over the side, not even winded.
Though Sprittez was tempted to say something along the lines of "I thought you knew I can control ice," but she wasn't in the mood to shape the words with her now too-awkward mouth. Instead, she had the ice move from the building and start to wrap around the man's legs. And she still had her anti-mechanical attack in reserves. She screeched at the man in the suit and charge, her thick body ready to ram into the man and claw his suit to bits.

Duo heard his opponent grapple onto the side of a building. What kind of person wouldn't hear something like that? He was in the process of turning his head around when she jumped over the side; she looked almost primal, as if she were some kind of jungle cat getting ready for the slaughter of her newest kill. Immediately afterward the ice around his feet began to wrap up around his leg and he found out that he couldn't move. He was about to berate himself for his stupidity as his opponent charged towards him before he got an idea that just might worked. He quickly reached downwards until his body was at a 90 degree angle at his waist and his jetpack directly faced his opponent. He then turned the jetpack on its maximum burn setting so that the most amount of heat and flame would be directed towards his opponent. If this was successful, all she'd get as she charged towards him would be a large amount of flame directed towards her, giving her really serious burns over a large portion of her body, making her body tender and hard to move.

Re: New Character to Tryout

The fire didnā€™t particularly faze Sprittezā€”her thick raptorā€™s hide could easily keep her safe from the flamesā€”but she was getting sick of the suit. She shied back, keeping the ice around the manā€™s legs strong as possible. She put up her leathery wings as a barrier to protect herself from the heat as she backed away, taking in deep breaths and filling her large lungs before planting her back feet. The raptorā€™s thick talons dug into the building, and she lowered her large palms to the ground for extra balance, as well as half folded her wings along her spine. Her neck and head were lowered and parallel with the ground, her shoulders, haunches, and tail all along the same axis. Her giant mouth gaped wide, and the chain attached to her upper right lip rattled as it skimmed the ground. She took in a final breath, filling her monstrous lungs to capacity before letting out her attack. There was a screech, loud enough to be heard for a good three miles. Electric wires all around sparked and jarred and lights flickered in buildings and computers failed and all manner of electrical device was affected in some way. At the epicenter would be this man, if he were still in the ice she had kept strong. As it hit, the suit would cease to function, the waves scrambling circuits and disrupting the flow of electricity. The man inside would also be affected, getting a headache as horrible as the worst migraine imaginable. If the attack failed, which was unlikely considering the power of the attack, she still had her tail, wings, and claws to defend herself with, not mentioning her mouth of gaping teeth.
