"Sure," Grey said, flashing a quick smile. The camp they'd established earlier was a little ways off, in a clearing behind the huge hills that adorned the landscape. Most would find the prospect of staying even one night in the chaotic void between towns as suicide; the creatures of the night were ruthless beings and their instincts were only sharpened by their hunger.
He found it a challenge.
The monster he was currently carrying was weighing him down immensely and would soon attract the hunters, though. Being quite unable to defend himself, he'd have to rely on Ikki to fend them off... She'd be a match for them, but not for long. He'd have to leave the kill behind, and fight for their lives.
That is, if they didn't get to camp in time. Which he very much planned to do.
"You coming? " Grey asked, suddenly breaking into a sprint. The faster they got out of here, the better. He didn't trust what lurked in the shadows.

Demytria Rivers was exhausted. After 5 hours of harvesting in these early weeks in Autumn during the hottest time of day, she was dehydrated, achy, and overall just tired. The only thing keeping her awake as she lay in her small bed was the note she'd gotten from Grey, saying they'd be in Delphinor soon.
Ah. She wondered sometimes what it was like to wander, to be free. From what he'd told her, it was miserable. But not as miserable as being hated by the ones you love, she thought sadly. Never.
Shunning such thoughts from blossoming any further, she looked out the window, for the 7th time that night. She saw nothing but the gray of dusk quickly becoming the dark, still blackness of night. Chances are she'd see the both of them tomorrow; he didn't really travel at night. Sighing, Demy rolled onto her side and forced her eyes shut.

No way, no way. Sure, they'd been planning, but not for this . This was unexpected. But here it was, in all of its unbelieveable glory: a CD.
Not just any CD, of course. The CD that was top-secret Syndicate information, which The First had gotten their hands on through their spies.
Once they saw what it contained, it was no other choice to be made. They must prepare for the worst. The eradication of all of them was nigh. They sent out the order to barricade Eterna, even though the Syndicate would know immediately why they'd gone on defense. At this point, it did not matter.
The First refuse to lose; their dream of destroying the birthplace of their misery, pain and suffering would not die.
