Deac walked out of the forest into the clearing. After so much time in the dim light of the forest, he had to shield his eyes from the bright, unhindered sunlight. He stopped about 10 feet away from the forest surveyed the meadow as he slowly let his eyes adjust to the new level of brightness. He could still here the sounds of the forest, along with the sounds of the meadow. Soft gentle winds caressed the plant life, causing the grass to sway back and forth slowly, and the leaves in the tree to rustle. He could also hear the sounds of the wild life that he had gotten used to for the past three days crossing the forest. The howling, chittering, hissing and chirping was still making it's way to his small, pointed, fuzzy ears. They twitched in the direction of any sudden sounds, listening intently. The sound of a stream off the his left was also nice and clear. The washing current which he himself had dipped into occasionally proved vital to his three day trek.

After about a minute, his eyes were adjusted enough so that he did not have trouble seeing what was in front of him. He continued walking forward towards the end of the meadow, about five-hundred feet away. He noticed that there was a slight drop off as he approached the end of the flower-spotted meadow, and when he looked over, he realized he was standing on the edge of a hill. The hill was not to steep to walk on, but steep enough that you probably shouldn't run down it. It also did a good job at concealing the small town from anyone up here unless they got as close as Deac was to the edge. The down had irrigated the stream into it, so there was a smaller substream branching off from the main stream. He turned back to the meadow, He would take a little rest here. People in small towns were more often than not, hostile to his appearance, believing him to be some sort of aggressive beast or monster, and his size didn't help to calm them. No matter what he said, he always had difficulty presenting himself openly to most people. He found a downed tree close to the edge of the forest and walked back across the meadow towards it. Staring at the multi colored flowers along the way. Each one contributed to the pleasant medley of aromas that made it's way to Deac's shiny wet nose. After about a minute he made it to the log and took a seat. He pulled out his pouch and brought out a dried strip of meat. He closed the bag and returned it to its place on his waist. He began to eat the smoky-tasting jerky as he planned the visit to the town. He had to buy another sharpening stone for his sword, as it was getting dull. He glanced at the heavy sheath on his side, though not for any reason.

He finished the jerky and lowered himself onto the ground, reclining against the log. He put his hand against his sword and closed his eyes, hoping to catch a quick nap before he went to the town. Or, at least a rest, He did not sleep, but was more in a state of deep rest, breathing slowly, yet aware of his surroundings.

He removed the bag

[Expect critiques coming your way soon. I posted because I have the free time, but I was unable to send you critiques before hand. I will give you them within the couple of hours.]

The sun was shinning down upon the calm meadow, the grass dancing upon the feet of the swift form of a king cheetah. Its pelt a darker brown in color while the assortment of dots and stripes where a much darker color, almost black. Ebony claws darted out at the sight of the large man, who was seemingly half leopard, from what she could see above his hood. The light dimmed as a cloud passed over the sun's blazing rays, creating a moment of silence amongst all of this noise. The birds chirpping their morning song, wolves howling on the hunt, the tree's leaves laughing in the wind. It all seemed to fade as Mizani closed her eyes, drawing herself up onto her backlegs from where she was in the shade of the nearby trees. A black flame ungulfed her for only a moment before the figure of a young woman stood in the shade, rather than the feral creature that had stood there previously.

Stepping out from the shade she pulled her black base-ball cap down a little further on her head, her red hair combed to perfection as usual. Moving her bangs to the side with a brush of her hand she would continue walking toward the leopard-man who was now laying down. Raising both brows as she approached, the clearly noticable spotted tail that waved around behind her would scoop low, obviously wary. She had planned on going into town for a drink or two, but had come across this fellow first. It was the first time she had ever really seen another shifter, even if he did look a little strange. Squinting her eyes against the sun that still filtered through her hat, she raised up a hand in greeting, waving at him even though he seemed to want to nap. Coming up behind him, she called out as to not shock him by appearing at his side without any notice "Hey there!" she said, rosey lips drawn up into a smile.

With this she would place one thumb in her jean pocket, taking it upon herself to sit down near him, though at a respectful distance. Placing both hands in her lap she would tilt her head off t othe side while looking at him, surprised that she had not fallen when she went to sit down, having been a clutz in her human form since birth. She had grown up as a king cheetah, and didn't particularly llike this form, but it was better than creeping up on him as a feline and potentially scaring him into bringing out the large sword on his back. Brown orbs would lock on the man's head, which could possibly be the only part of him that was feral. 'Can he shift all the way?' she wondered, which of course was the reason to her head being tilted off to the side like it was. "What brings you all the way out here?" she would ask, completely blowing past introductions. Obviously, this girl lacked most of her manners.
