A long journey continued.
Ancient boots struck the ground in a rhythmic fashion, sending up small puffs of the dry soil. Constituted of a leather so old it seemed to be one with the dirt, the footwear fell with light, measured precision; they were much lighter than expected. Filling the boots was one Prygus, whose full name was unknown by many, and vaguely remembered by few. Trekking across the arid rocky wasteland, the man stopped and pulled a quick swig from an equally aged waterskin. Adorned in simple brown clothing, of a humble texture, the traveler did not make an imposing image.
Hazel eyes squinted into the distance as the young man took in a spectacle.
Some form of humanoid creature appeared to have leaped into the air, utilizing some mighty strength or magic, as of yet unknown to the traveler. It's movement through the air seemed to be in defiance of all natural laws, as the.. thing lurched sickeningly down from its strange leap.
And some strange thing the creature was. From his position around 50 meters away, Prygus could make out a pair of spindly, antenna-like appendages erupting from the beast. Furthermore, from what he could see, it appeared that the abomination had some form of tail. As he watched, the strange creature seemed to place something up to its head, though what Prygus could not make out, as he had but a side profile on the creature.
Deeming the thing as some eldritch abomination, Prygus stepped forward once again, moving to close the distance separating the two, keeping his eyes on it at all times; the abomination's coloration made it difficult to distinguish against the ground, even at this distance. Had it not jumped, the weapon-master may never have noticed the beast, and walked right into a potential ambush. Now, he raised his guard, and carefully prepared mentally for a combat situation, beginning a cautious
approach to the thing.
Whether the creature had some form of intelligence or not, it seemed to be some form of unholy, unnatural thing, and thus needed to die.
