Just to let everyone know, I did already approve of the previous character posted.
There's a hole in the world like a great black pit
And it's filled with people who are filled with shit
And the vermin of the world inhabit it.
But not for long...

Uhm, alright, let's see... I've got some bad news for you all...

Due to unfortunate and annoying events taking place in my personal life--which I shall not dicuss--I have been forced to abandon RoleplayGateway. It's too much. My sincerest apologies and my best regards to you all in the future of the RP.

Goodbye, then, to you all.

This is probably extremely late, but I would be interested in being a Fleet Commander. Treasure Planet is one of my favorite movies, along with most other pirate movies. If accepted, expect my first post to be up on Tuesday afternoon.

Player: TheBeachedPirate
Character: Jasper O'Riley
Age: Mid-thirties
Gender: Male
Position: Fleet Captain

Description: Jasper stands at 6"2 with short dark brown hair and is almost always seen with a lit cigar between his teeth. He is permanently blind in his left eye, and it has an eerie milky blue coloring to it. It is accompanied by a scar that runs over his eye from just above his eyebrow and after passing over his eye curves onto the bridge of his nose. His right eye is a bright sky blue, but tends to darken with his mood. He tends to smile often, though it can be an honest and true smile or a maniacal grin before a fight. He wears a Navy uniform overcoat over a while shirt and black trousers with boots while at an official meeting with officers or during a fight. In a more relaxed setting, he removes the overcoat for more casual clothing. He wears a black hide tricorne hat over a black bandana, but when the weather is hot he usually removes the hat.

Personality: Jasper initially comes across as a good-natured, well humored man. He is very loyal to his men, and loves what he does. However, he tends to work according to his own agenda, and his impulsive nature to do what he pleases despite others angers his superiors. He also looks at pirate hunting as a sport rather than an act of purifying the world of pirates. He treats the hunt as a competition between himself and the other Fleet Admirals, which earns the contempt of his peers. His crew, however, respects and admires him, and finds his "passion" for his profession a morale booster. He also picks and chooses which pirates he hunts and which he kills, and is just as quick to turn on a naval officer as he is on a criminal. He detests injustice within the Royal Fleet, prefering to stick to his own questionable code of morals, and because of his headstrong attitude and objection to authority has made many enemies on both sides of the law.

Weapons: Jasper excels in swordfighting, and his weapon of choice is a cutlass that his father crafted for him just before his death. He prefers to leave the "high-tech" weapons to his crew, as his preference of fighting style is much more primitive and considered "behind the times." He will use a firearm on ocassion, but rarely.

Background: Jasper was born to a blacksmith father and a young school teacher. He grew up in a small port town and has a deep-rooted love for the ocean and sailing. His mother died in childbirth when he was ten, leaving his father with three sons. When their father died just after Jasper's eighteenth birthday, he joined a merchant ship to support his younger brothers. When the ship was captured by a pirate vessel, he was forced to become a pirate, which he only did for fear of leaving his younger brothers alone and with no money. It was during his time as a pirate that his skills as a swordsman and underlying lust for violence and blood came to light. After five years, the ship was captured by a Fleet Admiral and he, along with the surviving crew, were sentenced to death. He was involuntarily pardoned by the Governor when his uncle managed to find proof that he had been forced to join. He then enlisted in the Royal Fleet and used his knowladge of pirates to track them down. The first of his younger brothers became a pirate and was killed several years later, and his youngest sibling went missing shortly thereafter. At the age of twenty-nine, he received the scar on his eye that cost him his eyesight in said eye and temporarily put him out of service. He made a quick recovery, however, and returned back to service.

Hmmm this seems like fun haha. Mind I reserve an "Other" role. I can whip up a character later tonight and fine tune them more if not by tonight then by tomorrow morning, otherwise looks great.

the man of benevolence never worries;
the man of courage is never afraid.

I know what I didn't have so, I won't let this go
'Cause it's true, I am nothing without you

If all my friends were to jump off a bridge, I wouldn't follow.
I'd be at the bottom to catch them when they fall.

Sorry for the late reply, but that's fine by me.

And BeachedPirate, I must congratulate you on your swiftness in catching up to everything in so few posts. Good on ya, mate! :)

And yeah, I'm starting to feel like Sophia is being a bit invincible. I mean, every other captain has been off their ship and walking about on others. Maybe after whatever plan Arthur has on helping the Tropic out of her predicament is executed and finished, we can figure out some way to get Dumisani into some sort of trouble herself on a Navy ship. Maybe let Arewick take the wheel for a while. ^-^'

I dunno, just throwing that out there.

Well, River-Koi, if you need a Navy ship, the Asylum and Admiral O'Riley will be happy to comply. And thank you very much for your compliment :)
