In a town known as Faeda strange things have been happening at night. No one questions these strange things, as they have always happened, and many suspect they always will continue to happen. People go missing every once in awhile, but no one says anything. When one of these missing people shows up months, or even years later, looking exactly the same as they did when they disappeared, no one says anything, said missing person will inevitably be missing again in the morning. For strange things only happen at night. Of course strange things happen in other towns as well, that's just the way of things, but odd occurrences seem to happen more fequently in Faeda.
A new family has moved in, and has no doubt taken notice of the strange goings on in the town, and when they begin to question everyone else's lack of interest, things start to stir up. Things the people of Faeda have always been aware of, and always ignored, are being talked about, and now the people of the town are beginning to outwardly fear the night.
On the other side of things, the creatures of the night had found Faeda to be a Haven. The people never bothered to question what happened, and everyone lived as they always had. But then some new people showed up and put their noses in where it did not belong. The creatures of the night are trying to restore the old balance, but the humans have had enough. Vampire hunters have been called in, as well as other paranormal exterminators, all of which are trying to rid the world of evil, or so they say.
Characters
Vampires
Vampires, are your average vampire. No reflection, mild psychic abilities, death by sunlight, stake though the heart, or fire. Note that vampires must sleep during the day, and cannot be awoken by any means until the sun has set, and as such many vampire seek daytime protection either from trusted humans, or other creatures of the night that are capable of wakefulness during daylight hours. Vampires, are strong, and fast, but their biggest strength is their intellect. Some vampire, depending on their human lives, double as spell casters, but that is extremely rare. Most vampires have a group of humans who voluntarily let them feed off of them, as the bite of a vampire is not at all painful, and is in fact quite pleasurable, though it leaves the human feeling weak, and vaguely sickly for a few days.
Werewolves
Typical. Killed by means of silver, can transform at anytime if they feel the need to, but must transform the night before the full moon, on the full moon, and the night after. Werewolves are unnaturally strong, and fast even while in human form, but their true power can be accessed when they transform. Because of their physical capability werewolves are often sought after by vampire as daytime protection. Werewolves are fiercely loyal, and rarely betray a friend.
Demons
Demons are rare, usually summoned by human spellcasters, such as witches, warlocks, or wizards. When properly summoned the spellcaster has control over the demon, though demons can manipulate the meanings of orders they have been given to suite them. Wording is key when dealing with these creatures. They are extremely strong, though often slow moving. They tend to have innate magical abilities, though they are capable of casting very few spells. The ones they know are the only ones they will ever know. They cannot be killed, only banished, and the banishing ritual must be performed correctly, or the caster risks sending himself to hell. However, they can be bound, or enslaved, usually only by spellcasters, but the occasional vampire can control them for a short period of time. The best way to defeat them is not to summon them at all. Demons are capable of making deals with humans in exchange for their souls, and thus more power, though a demon will do everything in his power to find loopholes that either hurt the human, or allow the demon not to have to keep their end of the deal. Once again, wording is key when it comes to dealing with demons, though they are completely incapable of not keeping a promise.
Spellcasters
Spellcasters are almost always human. They dedicate their lives to studying magick, and thus, are granted great power. However, casting can leave these humans very tired, drained, possibly comatose, so they are careful not too overexert themselves. Ten spells a day is considered acceptable as long as they do not cast anything too powerful. They are physically weak, but extremely intelligent. They are better with strategy than actually battle, and tend to be weaker than the average human, though they are capable of inflicting the most damage. They are capable of achieving longevity (ie can live for an infinite number of years, but are still very destructible, and age as a normal human would).
Hunters
Hunters are almost all human, though some come from mysterious backgrounds. There are two kinds of hunters. Those who think they understand the creatures that lurk in the dark, and out of fear wish to exterminate them. (These are the most common) And those who actually understand those shrouded in a veil of night, and seek to aid them in keeping their secret.
Humans
Self explanatory.
Essentially. The creatures of night wish to keep their secret hidden, and in all actuality are not evil. They rarely kill humans (young vampire have a hard time with this, but with age, comes willpower) and seek only to live peacefully. Werewolves, are not particularly evil, but three days out of each month they are incapable of controlling themselves. Demons are of course evil, but only with the allowance of a human. If there are any questions, feel free to ask.
