Who are you people?!

So fellas, I am new to this site (and roleplaying in general) and I am painfully adverse to other humans. As such, even a site like this, which is full of humans that are actually deliciously amazing, can still scare me. So instead of doing the rational thing and jump into roleplaying (I'm lost as hell anyways), I wanted to get a feel for this community and what it is y'all are looking for in terms of chaps and conversation. Any community peeves I should be aware of? Any interests and topics specifically that would spark the fires of your hearts? I'd like to get to know at least some of you so I know what to expect out of the people in this fabulous community ^-^
