IC: Why Are These Things Never Easy? ( )

Postby Kaykay120 on Tue Mar 16, 2010 9:22 pm

Highschool sucks. No really it does. We go around to our stupid classes every day, sit there listening to the damn teacher talk about stupid stuff and then, guess what? We go to lunch, go back to whatever class we have next and go home. Talk about boring! However, not all students think so. A group of friends, insane, wacky, loving friends have found some enjoyable time during their period of time in Highschool. Lunch. The food may suck but that's not why the enjoy it. No, they enjoy it because of the people who constantly sit beside them. They enjoy lunch because they now that one day something will happen between both groups that will bring them together. But for now that 'other' table is just the 'thems'. And basically the 'thems' are a bunch of stupid boys at the moment who don't care about anyone but themselves. However at the other table 'they' can't get enough of 'them'. Will 'they' finally get 'them' to realize that they have a special thing together or will they continue to act like they hate each other?

Kailyn tilted back in her chair, poking her gloppy looking food around. She could've sworn that the mashed potatoes had moved. At least she thought they were mashed potatoes. She sniffed them slightly. "Nope. Creamed corn," she said, making a face. Ew.

Jon sat down with his lunch, glancing slightly at the table his group had dubbed the 'They' table. So far he only saw that violinist girl. Um..Kailyn, he thought her name was. He nudged Jazzy slightly. "Hey, Jazz," he said. His friend was Jasjit, but most called him Jazzy or Jazz.

Jazzy looked up from his food. "What is it?" he asked, a slight frown to his face, though not directed at Jon.

"Who's that girl over there? At the 'They' table? Isn't that Kailyn?" Jon questioned. Jazzy nodded. "Yeah, she's in my English class."

"Oh," Jon said, dragging out the one syllable word.

Levi walked over, setting his tray down next to Jazzy's. "Hey guys," he said, smiling. "Hi Levi," Jon and Jazzy greeted. Levi was new to their school so they let him into their group simply because he was funny. They knew he was gay but they didn't mind.

Kailyn scowled slightly when she saw Jon glance at her. Jon was part of the 'Them' table even though she found him nice and sweet at times. The same with Jazzy.

Emilee was in the lunch room. Sure it had bad food and a bad smell but lunch was the best part of the day. Emilee got to speak to her friends and have fun talking to them. There was one day that Emille and her friend Danielle talked about since summer. It was the birthday coming up on the 8th of this month. Emilee would be turning 18. Emilee then sat down at the table that was known as the 'They table'. Emilee thought that the table was perfect. It just did not have Jon over here. Jon would be the best part at this table. But Emilee knew that the 'Them' table hated the 'they' table. For many of reason's. Emilee sat at the table alone waiting for her friends that sat with her to come. Well she thought she was alone tell she saw Kaylin. "Hey, ya I never bothered getting anything" She smiled at her then waited to see what her friend would say.
(EDIT: I fixed this sorry did not see your post :P)

----------------Max----------

Max smiled at the many passing girls that giggled when they saw him. He would sometimes wink at them to. Just to see them smile. But truth was Max never really liked any of the girls that giggled when they saw him. he liked one girl and that was the girl in his mind. He loved how all the other girls would get mad and stomp off when he said he had a girlfriend. But the girl Max liked never walked off well to be honest she was a part of the 'They' group. Max knew he was supossed to hate them all but one caught his eye a long while back before all this stuff haapened. Max brushed his fingers through his hair then took a seat at the table he always sat at. Then he looked over at the 'They' table for a few seconds. The girl he liked was not there yet. But one of her friends was.
HUNGER GAMES! You like the hunger games? Then check this out! Please it would mean a lot! :D

Kailyn looked over at Emilee. "Hey Em," she said softly, smiling. Emilee had been one of her best friends since pre-K. "I'm 18 today," she grinned. Today was her birthday but she never really told people since she didn't like birthdays. So what if she was aging by a year?

Jon playfully smacked Max on the arm. "Hey Maxy. You're friends are over here. Not....there," he waved his hand with annoyance towards the 'They' table then flushed angrily when Kailyn saw him and flipped him off.

Jazzy snickered. "Hey Levi?"

Levi looked at him. "What's up?"

"Isn't Kailyn, like, your cousin or something?" Jazzy questioned, taking out his sack lunch from home.

"Something like that," Levi shrugged. "2nd cousin. I know all her friends too."

Max smiled at his friend Jon. "Sorry man, Just looking out the window not at the 'they' table" He smiled then noticed Kailyn and her friend over at the table. "Hey look Jon one of the others showed up...um her name was..oh ya Emilee, Just so you know I only know that cause she's in my math class" Max then looked at the others. "Whats up guys?" He asked waiting for an answer.

---------Emilee------

Emilee smiled at Kailyn "Happy birthday" She said a little low so only Kailyn could here. "Whats up?" Then she looked out the cornner of her eye. Looking at the 'Them' table. She saw a lot of the boys there already but then she looked back at Kailyn. The girls at this table knew who they liked. They did not care that they liked guys from the 'them' table. They just never told any one outside of their table who they liked."Hey, Kailyn..where did Raven go?" She smiled as she spoke silent. She knew that Kailyn probaly did not know where he was but it was fun to bug her.

He walked in. It was his first day since he'd come to the new town. Always moving around, Xylon was used to not knowing anybody. Used to being the new kid. He had green eyeshadow with a light brush of sparkles, nothing too obvious. He'd chosen a black ring for his lip that day, and wore a simple black shirt with a Skillet sweatshirt over it. Both sat over dark blue jeans and paint-splattered skate shoes. Xy had brought his own lunch, and he wasn't sure where to sit. Spying a partially empty table of girls, he trotted over. "Hi," he murmured shyly, "Can I sit here?" He hoped he wasn't turned away. After all, he hadn't done anything wrong that he knew of yet.

Jon smirked. "Levi was telling us that he's that Kailyn girl's 2nd cousin. So he knows everyone from the 'They' table."

Levi shrugged. "Emilee, Crisha, Kailyn, and Danielle," he listed off, eating his sandwich.

"Say, Jon, don't you stare at that Emilee chick alot," Jazzy teased.

Jon's face turned red. "No! Like I'd be interested in her," he snorted. In truth he kinda was. She was cute and not like all the other girls around this trash dump school.

Kailyn flushed darkly at the mention of Raven. "Shut up, Em," she said, smiling. She liked Raven. Everyone at their table knew that. She glanced back over at the 'Them' table before looking away, not seeing Raven either. She looked over at the boy who just came over to them. "Sure," she said smiling.

Raven trotted up whistling and put his tray down, grinning as he sat and leaned back, one arm slung over the back of his chair. "Miss me?" he asked, picking up a forkful of school food and making a face as he saw it.

"I thought I was hungry, but I think I just changed my mind," he complained, making gagging noises at what was on the tray. It did not look edible at all. He paid no mind to the "they" table. He was fine right at his table, and he didn't need to talk about them. There were more important things to think of.

Emilee laughed then saw the boy come up to there table. "Uh, Yea sure I guess, Is that ok with you Kay?" Emilee asked. Then she looked at how all the boys were laughing over there and Jon's face was red. Then she looked back at her own table waiting to see what Kailyn had thought.

--------Max------

Max was laughing at what Jazzy had said. "Yea Jon you seem to look over at her....eh dont like her well that is understanble why no one from here would like her" Then Max kinda missed a heart beat as Levi spoke Danielle's name. "Hey Levi, Could you tell us a little about them so we know what to watch out for?" Max laughed then just leaned back in his chair.

(M'kay! See ya later)

Kailyn stood up and offered her chair to the boy who had come up to them. From the looks of it he was probably new. "Here. I'll get my own chair." She walked towards the stack of chairs, that just happened to be stacked next to the 'Them' table.

"Look out, Raven, here comes that violinist girl. She's in your Orchestra class isn't she?" Jon snickered. "What up, Violin-girl!?" he said as she grabbed a chair.

Kailyn frowned at him. "Fuck off, Jon," she said, before smiling at Levi. "Hi, Levs."

Levi nodded in response.

Kailyn walked back to their table without so much as a glance at Raven.

Levi looked at Max. "Well, Kailyn of course plays the violin, Emilee plays the flute in Band, Crisha plays the flute in Band also, and Danielle is totally into sports and whatnot."

"Thanks, by the way, I'm Xylon Jensen" he said, sitting and taking a sandwich out of his bag. He looked around, scanning the other tables. Maybe he'd try a different one the next day. Then, he turned his attention to those he was sitting with and their food. Seeing what was on the trays, he swallowed and made a face. "How can you eat that? It looks like toxic waste," he commented, gesturing at the cafeteria food. He figured it was a safe topic. Xylon still didn't want any enemies.

~~~
"Fascinated by the girls, are we?" Raven asked playfully, eating his lunch despite it's disgusting appearance. He took his tongue between his teeth and glanced over to the "they" table, but he quickly looked away. Nope, he wasn't interested. He couldn't be. His group was sworn enemies of that group. Relationships and crushes weren't allowed at all.
Kailyn sat beside Xylon and giggled at his comment about the food. "Yep. It's lethal. Utterly and terribly lethal," she whispered, snickering. She smiled at him. "Oh! I'm Kailyn Carter. You must be new here?" she guessed, her head tilted.
Jazzy nudged Raven. "Hey, Rave. I think that guy is moving in on your girl." He always teased Raven about Kailyn, seeing as they were in the same Orchestra class and had to deal with each other for 55 minutes during 1st period. He wasn't afraid to look at the 'They' table, even though it was kinda uncomfortable for him. So he quickly looked away and laughed with Jon about the matter.
Levi smirked at his friends.
"She isn't mine, and if you didn't notice he has sparkly eyeshadow on. I would guess that he is gay," Raven answered, grinning. He didn't bother her during class, it was a kindness he did for the people at the "they" table. He did his best not to bug them as long as they stayed away from him. A minor compromise.
~~~

"Oh very, that's why I bring my own," he said, eating some more of his sandwich. "I'm new, gay, trombone player in the band, and I have a pet snake. Gopher if you want to know what kind," he replied. Saying why he was new wasn't something he wanted to do. Xylon definitely did not want to be known as "that kid in foster care" again. He hated it, so he was going to avoid it as best he could.

"Yeah...but you probably wish she was yours!" Jon teased before hiding behind Jazzy. "Don't hurt me!" Raven had a wicked punch, from what he'd experienced a while back. "Why do we even bother sitting so close to them. I mean, we never choose a table far away from the 'They' table. It's always this one. All the time."

Levi raised an eyebrow. "Is there something wrong with being gay?" he asked, though it was playful not harsh. Everyone at the 'Them' table knew Levi was gay.

"Nice to meet you," Kailyn said. "Now, do you wanna tell us your name?" she giggled, teasingly.

"I already did. I wasn't teasing when I said my name was Xylon Jensen," he answered, grinning. He ate some more, and huffed out a breath. Most people thought he was kidding when he told them his name. Teachers only believed him because it was on the roster for the class. If not, he'd be out of luck.

~~~
"Nothing, you can have the one with the pretty eyeshadow. The new kid," he joked, laughing. He punched playfully at Jon, and ate some more of the disgusting cafeteria food. It was definitely no good to him. Raven sighed and took a small sidelong glance to the "they" table. He had no idea why they sat so close, but he didn't really care either.
"Xylon," Kailyn said softly, then grinned. "I love it!" In her excitement she hugged Xylon, not really caring much anyway. "It's a wonderful name and it's totally cute! My cousin Levi's gay too. He's over there. At the 'Them' table." She gestured lazily. As she did so she saw Raven glance at them, even if it was slightly, she was good at noticing things. So she turned her dismissive gesture into a middle finger towards Raven. "Don't mind my rudeness. It's just our groups don't really like each other," she told Xylon.
"OH! I think that finger was ment for you, Raven," Jon snickered.
Levi calmly waved at his cousin, looking at Xylon before going back to his lunch.
Max laughed what the boys were saying. "Dont worrie Raven we all know you dig her" He laughed then turned to Jon "your one to talk Jon we see you sneak peaks at Emilee" He laughed. He knew he was going to get double punched for this.
School the social feeding arena, no matter how good you looked or how smart you were it only mattered who you knew. And Chase knew no one, his parents stifled his creativity and mind for so long that he didn't know how to make friends and the fact that he lacked them didn't seem to bother him. Especially when he pulled into the school parking lot driving a fixer up car, in its hey day this car was a Sting Ray a type of corvette that made the eyes of young girls go nuts. Back in those days but now it was a rust bucket just waiting for its metal graveyard. The engine purred and sputtered as he twisted the key killing the half life that drove the once mighty beast of a car. Quickly he unbuckled his seat belt and pushed his keys deep into his left pocket, knowing that he would be shifting between comfort and pain all day feeling his apartment key stabbing him in the thigh. Chase adjusted the mirror staring at the slew of girls that walked by a few were cheerleaders that always whispered and blushed when he walked by. He was a good looking guy and he knew it, he just didn't know how to use it for self gain. Shaking his head as he caught their eyes in his rear view mirror, he reached down and grabbed his over the shoulder postal bag loaded with his note books and and pencil/pen case. Neatly sharpened and finely tipped as soon as a pen stopped writing once he tossed it and bought a whole new set. The car door opened and he stepped out straightening his jeans after the postal bag was over his shoulder and he could feel the strap across his chest, boldly he walked into the school. Making his way past throngs of jocks, losers, nerds, hotties, and of course the band geeks. If it was one thing his parents couldn't stress enough it was stay away from those kids so he himself established a position within the choir an alto who could bust out in bass if he really felt the need. That was where his true happiness lied when he was singing just belting it around all those others who thought they were good enough, they were decent but within Chase's eyes he was the best. Slowly he stopped in front of his locker placing a hand on the combination he twisted it 30-17-25, easy as pie it opened with a thunk, and there laid open his locker in pristine cleanliness. His books were labled and waiting for his careful hands with a sigh of anxiety and thoughts on the big history quiz today he simply just stood there inhaling the fine smell of angry teenagers and out of wack hormones.
