Kailyn tilted back in her chair, poking her gloppy looking food around. She could've sworn that the mashed potatoes had moved. At least she thought they were mashed potatoes. She sniffed them slightly. "Nope. Creamed corn," she said, making a face. Ew.
Jon sat down with his lunch, glancing slightly at the table his group had dubbed the 'They' table. So far he only saw that violinist girl. Um..Kailyn, he thought her name was. He nudged Jazzy slightly. "Hey, Jazz," he said. His friend was Jasjit, but most called him Jazzy or Jazz.
Jazzy looked up from his food. "What is it?" he asked, a slight frown to his face, though not directed at Jon.
"Who's that girl over there? At the 'They' table? Isn't that Kailyn?" Jon questioned. Jazzy nodded. "Yeah, she's in my English class."
"Oh," Jon said, dragging out the one syllable word.
Levi walked over, setting his tray down next to Jazzy's. "Hey guys," he said, smiling. "Hi Levi," Jon and Jazzy greeted. Levi was new to their school so they let him into their group simply because he was funny. They knew he was gay but they didn't mind.
Kailyn scowled slightly when she saw Jon glance at her. Jon was part of the 'Them' table even though she found him nice and sweet at times. The same with Jazzy.
