"Yeah, I'm starving," Dave agreed. "Let's find something to eat." He looked blankly at the others, still holding Amanda's hand with their fingers interlocking. "Does anyone know where the kitchen is?"

"Umm...I think it's that way." Bella said, pointing in the direction she thought was the kitchen. However, the girl really didn't know, and knew she was, in fact, probably wrong. Most people knew to do the opposite of what she said, but still. "Ok, I really don't know." She laughed a little, not wanting to be wrong, and squeezing Chris's hand lightly.

Jess frowned and placed two fingers to his lips, shaking her head. "Oh no, mister. You're not going to act like that towards my best friend and still get some sugar. We need to have a talk." She pulled away from him and sat on the edge of his bed, patting the spot next her and crossing her legs.

"I'm not mad, I just want make sure I'm not going to have to be," she smiled softly.

Alex groaned softly, sitting next to Jess as she patted the bed. "I say we should ditch Bella and the rest. That way we get an amazing vacation and you don't have to get mad at me." He smirked hopefully, although he knew his girlfriend well enough to know that she would never go for the idea.

He placed a hand on her leg. "I promise. I would never want you to be mad at me." Alex just had to strategize so that he would only do/say things to Bella when Jess wasn't around, or Chris for that matter.

Dave shrugged. "Let's just go and have a look and see what happens," he suggested. They walked across the tiled floor of the entrance room, heading in the direction that Bella had guessed. Dave pushed open a swing door at the end and saw a dining table. He smiled. "This looks promising." Beyond the scrubbed wooden table was another set of swing doors. Dave could see tiled floor and sparkling kitchen units.

"Hey Bella, you were right," Dave smiled, restraining himself from adding for once.

"Ha! Finally!" She laughed, knowing that probably all of them were thinking along the same lines. Usually when people decided to listen to her, she was wrong, then when they didn't she was normally right. Now, thankfully, she was right when they listened to her. Dave usually sided with her, but not always.

Jessica slid her hand over his and intertwined their fingers, leaning her head against his shoulder. "We can't just ditch everyone. That'd be rude and besides, Bella is my best friend. Always has been, always will be. I wish you two could just co-exist for once and not make this the living hell it can sometimes be when you are both in the same area."

She pulled her head away from Alex and looked up into his gaze, losing her smile. "I should think that you two would be more considerate of mine and Alex's feelings. We both love you with all of our hearts...but, you make it so darned difficult." Her lip moved out into another pout.

"How about you just pretend that you can tolerate her? Just for this week, for me." Jess planted a light kiss to his cheek and smirked. "Please?"

Alex groaned, tilting his head back a little as he listened to Jess. "You are so not fair! I just cannot resist you, my love." He looked back down into the eyes of his girlfriend, squeezing her hand slightly. "For you, I promise to TRY to be civil to her, I promise nothing more than that."

He knew that Jess and Bella were best friends, and as far as he knew Jess never knew that him and the blonde ever went out.

"A week being civil to Bella? Do I get a reward if I survive the torcher?" Alexander smirked at Jess, not helping but to smile.

"So, do we make our own meals?" Dave asked, pulling open a gleaming silver 'fridge. It was stocked high with food. "What do we want?" he asked, frowning at the large selection.

Jessica tried frowning, but the edges of her mouth kept flinching into a smile. She narrowed her gaze up at Alex in fake malice. "We'll see, buddy. Now...," she pulled her phone from her back pocket and began texting, "Bells, you guys find the foodage,".

"Lets eat. I'm wasting away as we speak." Jess closed her phone and looked back to Alex, smiling.

"I'll need something to look forward to while trying to be civil. You know, something to keep my mind busy and ocuppied so I won't think of even more ways to make this vacations hell for your best friend." Alex smirked while standing up, fingers still linked with Jess's. "Alright, let's go find the food for my baby."

In the kitchen, Bella jumped slightly as her phone went off and started vibrating. She pulled it out and saw the text from Jess. Smiling, the girl replied to her bestie, telling her how to get to the kitchen. Then she turned to Dave, shrugging. "Doesn't matter. Anything that is good." She said simply, looking up at Chris.

Dave shrugged. "Okay," he replied. He peered into the 'fridge. "Well ... I could make something," he suggested. Dave was a good cook, and he could see ingredients for several meals, including spaghetti, lasagne and omelette. "Or we could just stick some readymeals in." He opened the freezer and saw a selection of frozen meals.

Bella just shrugged, looking around. "I really don't care. Food's food, doesn't matter to me." She looked at Amanda and Chris, waiting to see if they would say something or not. Chris was being oddly quite, which wasn't normally him, and Bells hoped he wasn't mad at her.

Jessica popped up beside him and gave him a big smooch, her other hand cradling the side of his face. "How's that for something to think about?" She laughed and turned, pulling him along towards the kitchen and her main goal, food. Maybe there was hope for this vacation yet. If Alex and Bella could manage to co-exist things should be fantastic.

Making a decision, Dave started pulling ingredients out for an omelette and chucking them onto the top. He quickly counted heads, realized that there was hardly anyone in the kitchen, and started pulling more stuff out to make food for the others too. Before long, he was busy preparing the omelette, working quickly and adding small touches in. Cooking was what he was best at and what he could be proud of.

"Does someone want to set the table?" he asked them, over the sound of the whisk he was using.

"I will. And Jess and Alex are on their way!" Bella said. She knew that Jess had asked so she knew Jess was on her way, and that her friend would be with Alex. She sighed, going to look for all the silver ware and plates and everything.

Alex smirked. "Fine, I guess that's a start." He grinned, letting Jess lead him down to the kitchen where the others were mostly gathered around.

Dave smiled back at her, switching the whisk off for a moment to answer her. Amanda hadn't spoken for a while but whenever she did, she got his full attention.

"I'm nearly done now," he told her. "But can you help set the table or something?"

When everything was done, he carried the finished meals into the room with the table and set out a plate for everyone, even though some people were still upstairs or just around and about.

She nodded and set out the cutlery at each place, then smiled warmly at him when he came in with the food.
"That smells incredible..want me to go get everyone?"

Jessica burst in on the scene with a wide grin, her nostrils flaired as she inhaled the scent of the food. "Oh my...YUM! Smells like edible heaven." She bounced to one of the chairs happily, her hand still tugging along Alex. The feel of his fingers locked with hers always made her feel so incredibly happy and stable. Like nothing could fall apart. It was very similar to what she felt like with Bella. Both people were like the pillars holding up her life, except these two bickered instead of remaining stoney and silent.

"Dave, did you make this? Amazing. I should hire you for around my house. I can't cook nearly this well."
