I am only 13, but am working on a book that (hopefully) will get published. I am only in the first draft, and then I will probaboly change around several chapters, rewriting some. I am going to post it on here, what I have done anyway, so you guys can suggest improvements. please be honest, cause when I am older I am probs going to be an author.

Fanfiction.net is for weird crossovers, and the rare good story. It's normally for one shots which is one story. One chapter .

Oh wow this is very, very helpful. Thanks a ton for posting this up!
I have one quick question though (I know someone else asked this but I couldn't find the post)
Are all of our ideas that we use safe on RP sites?

Example: I use my book idea on a RP site, But I don't tell anyone that I'm going to turn it into a book.
Would my idea, and characters be safe on my RP site, even if I don't have a legal notice up there?
If I'm going to write a book for the future, should I consider putting up a legal notice to keep all my ideas safe?

I would hate to find out someone else stole all my characters and story ideas before my book got published...

It isn't likely that the people that go to your forum will be able to copy and reproduce a book from your ideas. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it knowing this fact. But if it eases your mind, then sure, add a legal notice saying, "Hey, this is my material and if I find out you've plagiarized, then I will contact proper authorities."

I have already published a book, 2008-09, I will warn anyone who has the same idea I did. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT use PublishAmerica to publish your book. My first book, no matter how many positive reviews, was a disaster. If you have any questions as to why, Message me and I will tell you. I am not going to flame, just want to warn people

This was really pretty helpful. I've attempted writing before, and found that it was pretty easy and that (in my opinion) I was pretty good at it. I may just try to get a story out someday.
