Danni didn't bother to look up from her doodles as the new student was introduced. She wasn't interested. She'd heard it all before. Kid starts the school, kid hates the school, kid leaves the school. Broken record. Doodling was far more interesting. Her concentration was interrupted when one of her not-so-close friends elbowed her, but she didn't look up. "He's kinda cute, don't you think?"
"Hmm," Danni muttered, not bothering to look up.
"No, look!" her friend insisted. Danni grudgingly raised her gaze ever so slightly in order to look at the boy as he passed her desk. Oh. Her eyes widened, and, like almost every other girl's in the room, followed him as he walked to the back of the classroom and sat down. He glanced her way, and she immediately flashed her best smile at him, before turning back to face the front, to once again return her focus to the page of doodles before her. She shook her dark hair so it fell like curtains around her face, concealing the smile on her lips. This had the potential to become very interesting.
