Danni walked calmly along the deserted hallway of the school, taking in her surroundings as she navigated her way toward the room her timetable said was her form room. Well, it was different - a challenge. She found herself wondering how long it would be before she got kicked out of this one. Not that it bothered her - she'd been to a lot of schools in her time, and would probably go to a lot more in the future - but she'd left her previous one a little earlier than planned, thanks to her carelessness, and she still felt rather disappointed in herself.
She looked up as she approached the classroom, and knocked lightly before opening the wooden door. Striding confidently toward the teacher's desk, she put the papers an elderly receptionist had given her before him and waited. The teacher spluttered, confused, and after a moment of leafing through the papers peered up at her, squinting at her through his glasses. "I, uh, wasn't expecting a new student. Are you sure you have the right class?"
Danni met his gaze evenly, and spoke calmly. "Yes."
"W-well alright then, I suppose I'd best introduce you." He turned his attention to the class. "Class? We have a new pupil. Her name's, uh--"
"Danni Harper?"
"Right. Yes. Well, she's new. So be nice. You can, uh, go and sit down now."
"Thanks."
She rolled her eyes and turned to face the class, scanning the rows of seats. There were plenty of spaces, but they were all very close to other students, and Danni wasn't really in the mood for socializing. Sighing, she made her way to the very back of the class, to sit at the end of an empty row. All around her, heads turned and students contemplated her with raised eyebrows and confused expressions, but she was well used to it by now. Sitting down, she rested her chin on the palm of her hand and watched with an amused expression as, one by one, the rest of the class lost interest and turned to face the front.
