Your perfect Computer Game? ( )

Postby Nevan on Sat Oct 01, 2011 5:39 pm

NOTE: I'm not asking about your favourite game because to be perfectly honest, no game is perfect.

What I am asking is this: what would be YOUR perfect computer game?

Describe here, in as much detail as you want, a game that is in your opinion, so mind bogglingly perfect you become mind-fucked just by thinking about it. A game so awesome that you wish it was real just so you could lose your entire social life to express your love for it.

Remember: this is in the creative realm so be creative. =D

My perfect video game would be something very very similar to Tron. Not the video game but like in the movies.

You have a console and a 'Program' that you control with different commands.
Like texting? Get paid to receive texts. You can only benefit from this. Check it out here and enjoy some extra income.->http://cashtexts.com/by/Bach Make sure to watch the video to learn about this great program.

Mine is like The Sims, except a little more detailed, and a little more realistic. The reactions in The Sims Series are...so simish

Might as well.
It would be Pseudo-Late Medieval fantasy type setting with lots of customization from characters to weapons, including dark plot and sarcastic humor, think of the humor in The Bard's Tale 2... Also would have it's own family system, being able to get married with benefits of course (Titles, discounts, income, property...). Also it would have Spellcrafting system and item enchantment system. Lots of dungeons and other interesting area to explore & loot from their riches. What more could you want from RPG?

Skyrim was my perfect game. I mean, it would be better if there was some kind of device that could just make what you think about doing in real life happen in the game; that would make it actually PERFECT but...

An open world controlled by a "writer" AI that would write stories for me to play out as I went through the game. It would be a science-fiction setting, (Think Firefly) and would vary between spaceship and planet-based stories. The world would generate characters and settings around me that are designed to allow me to move through by providing a challenge that changes based on my playstyle (For example, if I like playing a thief/assassin character, levels would be generated to have strong enemies that have good stealth detction, but are weak to attacks they don't see, while the environment is full of objects that can be interacted with cleverly to sneak through and remain undetected.) It would provide a challenge, but would give rewards for playing smart.

Basically, a sci-fi Skyrim with an AI that created the questlines as I played, tuned specifically for me.

I was trying to find a write up of a game invention I came up with a while ago but could not find it on a previous site I frequented. So here is my best to rework it.

Essentially my perfect game involves many different aspects of current games and types of games that would need to be put together to create mine.

The basis of my game is that there is a type of zombie apocalypse. This would most likely come from a type of virus that became very resistant to known antibiotics. Where the game starts really depends on you because it can be played either single player or online as an MMO. First off you would create your character you would be able to use premade characters or design your character from scratch. Everything on them from how tall and muscular they are down to any scars or tattoos they might have it would be limitless to the kind of art and things you can use to change how your character looks. Then you would start filling out your characters skills and stats. This is where a big RPG element comes into play. You will have many different stats everything from the base stats: Intelligence, Strength, Endurance, Dexterity, Charisma etc. and then your secondary stats/skills. Charisma, cooking, woodworking, metalworking, swordsmanship, marksmanship, and over a dozen more different skills. The cool thing is that your secondary skills can be boosted by leveling up your primary skills. So if you were to add points into intelligence it would allow him to become better at metalworking as well as understanding new types of recipes for certain construction items that he might be able to build along with learning to use new weapons such as a rifle, or a bow or even your fists.

After you finish completing your character he will be placed in a location of your choosing however this will most likely be limited to within all of North America including Greenland. Now here is where single player and multiplayer come into play. If you choose single player the infection/pandemic will just be starting and how bad it is in your location will vary. If you are in a city you might immediately begin to notice looting going on, people fighting for supplies and even some early infected beginning to swarm the streets. Now if you were in the country you might not notice the effects as quickly. But what you chose to do from here on out is up to you. You could run off into the wilderness and try to build your own log cabin as well as make defenses around a perimeter of your land so that you can stay in relative safety. Then you might work on building a well or making a garden so you can sustain yourself. Or perhaps you will board up in the cities and try to fend off the undead from your 13th floor apartment while at the same time raiding buildings for canned food and weapons while narrowly avoiding your death whether it be from a deadly fall, other looters or the ever present undead.

But if you were to choose to play online it would be a different option for you. First there would be different servers hosting different worlds and every month or so a new server would be brought online to start a new world and give a fresh start to any who chose to join it. The catch is that the world will only be open until a population limit is reached and once the limit is reached the server will be closed to any newcomers...at least any newcomers who wish to start as human. If you want to play as a zombie you will be allowed to join any world you please to try to harass and kill your human victims. Now since the play is online this allows for people to create their own groups. They can even attempt to form new nations that have their own territory within the world and can even if they wish go to war against each other. But to allow a sort of safe zone there will be AI controlled areas that are friendly to all types except those players who decide to attack someone else, although these AI territories will not be unconquerable.

So that is basically my idea of a great game to play. I have hopes that in the future something similar to this might come about, but I doubt that it will happen in the next ten years.

Something with the depth of one of those hyper-advanced Rogue-likes (something like UnReal World or Dwarf Fortress), but with graphics I can stand looking at, and an interface that I can figure out. I really really want to like those games, but all the development is spent adding in insane amounts of content, with user-friendliness being ultra-low priority.

The perfect computer game is one that allows the player near-infinite creative freedom, works on even the lowest-end computers, offers stunning visuals(abstract or realist), an appealing story, and multiplayer capability. Such a game has never been conceived by man, only dreamed of...

Minecraft comes close to a couple of these aspects though, and so far it ranks a close #2 on my list of Favorite PC Games of All Time, just behind Age of Empires 2 by a hairsbreadth.

Dynasty Warriors, but like... A really refined version.

One where you can not only participate in the battles, but world edit it so you can choose when commanders go forward, design events, place reinforcement points and all that.

Oh the epic battles I would have. The fun of it all. The Lubu! Ahhhh.

I could run my own little stories.

What I'd want from a perfect game would be one where your choices have consequences, where everything you do affects how the world changes around you and how others perceive you. You would be able to do whatever you desired, with many choices for any conflict, whether you want to help Side A or Side B, Take a Third Option, or watch from the sidelines as the events unfolded.

There would be a variety of playstyles, each requiring different skills and techniques but ultimately being equally powerful. Many games have simply useless abilties and set-ups, or different classes simply have you press the same button or exploit the same weaknesses to defeat your enemies. A good example of balanced abilities is Final Fantasy V, where each of the Jobs had their own strengths, weaknesses, and unique abilities. Even Jobs that didn't compare to others at certain points in the game (like the Red Mage once you've obtained level-four and higher magic) have abilities that when combined with other Jobs and/or abilities become extremely powerful. There's plenty of ways to make a powerful team, giving the game a lot of replay value.

Of course, I'd want a story that keeps me interested in what's unfolding, characters who I have a reason to be interested in and care for, and morals and themes that really make me think. Good graphics and soundtrack help, but the story and gameplay are what really matters to me.
