Welcome welcome, glad to have you aboard. I always say the best way to learn is to try it yourself, but if you're kind of lost on where to begin, let's start with a character. You're going to need to build a decent character to role play with. Get some ideas by checking out the profiles section of the Forums and looking at other people's profiles. You'll get to know some of the characters here and learn a bit too. You can find the profiles here:
http://gwing.net/viewforum.php?f=101 There's a guide and everything in there.
For questions about functionality of the website, check the FAQs link at the top right. If you have never role played before and would like to learn a little bit more about what it is, check this link here:
http://www.roleplay.org/Don't feel like going through all that? Losing interest maybe? Well, if you're short on time and you just want the necessities,
I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU AT LEAST READ ALL OF THIS: http://gwing.net/viewtopic.php?p=10027#10027That is our own personal resource that was kindly created by Eric, the site creator. That is a definitive source of our style and role play which is widely accepted as being mostly standard. It helps solve problems before they even arrise and gets you set on the fast track to good role playing. I cannot stress enough how important it is to go and read over all the information provided in that link. It shouldn't take more than half an hour max, and that's if you're trying to memorize it.
Now, of course we don't expect you to get everything right the first time around, so please do not hesitate to ask us questions. We are generally a very friendly community, and though you may see a bit of arguing down below in the shoutbox, we are all going to be willing to help you out. I'm sure we could even help get you started on your first RP if you want to try chat RP (The chat is located in the panel to the left). So go explore, learn and be amazed at the limitless possibilities role playing has to offer.
