To further elaborate, I intend for this roleplay to be collaborative in every sense of the word. Writers who join will be privy to what the eventually end of the story will be, and essentially we'll all be working together on this story instead of one sole person being the GM. As a roleplayer, I found that feeling of being lead along through the dark by the GM was annoying, to be frank. There was never a sense of conclusiveness, and not knowing where the story would be going didn't help much. With this roleplay, I intend to change that.
This story has an ending, and we will reach it.
That being said, by now the high standards that I have in mind for this roleplay must be obvious. But before getting into expectations and such, I'll introduce the world that our characters will be inhabiting.
Although the tale of Aella varies from the tribes of the plains to the vast kingdoms, there is always two key elements that remains a constant; the world began with fire, and there was once an everlasting daylight. Aella, guardian of day, ruled over the land of Asvóli. She seemed a goddess to human and rossezca alike, blessing crops so that they may grow and keeping the creatures of the dark at bay.
In order to stay in her favor, people would offer up anything they could, some even offered up their children in hopes that they’d be blessed by her. This age in history is known as Sol, and some will say that it is remembered through rose-tinted glasses.
The age of Sol would come to an end whenever the Aella cursed the world, revoking her past blessings and bringing about the cold winter and the night. How this came to pass differs depending on who’s being asked. Some human-ruled kingdoms curse the rossezca, saying that they were the cause of Aella’s disappearance. Rossezca, of course, would say otherwise. Though there are some who care not for Aella, refusing to even consider that she had existed at all. The following age was the age of Nyx, when day would slowly turn into night and the warm, welcoming summer would give way to winter. This is the origin of the four seasons.
Tensions rose between human and rossezca, and the three wars that resulted would soon tell that this was no way to live. With the harshness of their new reality, they’d have to work together in order to coexist, lest both would perish. And so a strained treaty was formed between them. They’d build great kingdoms to fend off the feral beasts that came out at night fall, and eventually these cities would flourish and spread all over the world.
Although many now live in peace, there’s still great apprehension between human and rossezca, and some have no problem with voicing their prejudice against the other. In between heavily populated areas, it is not uncommon for there to be fights between the two forces and any traveler unfortunate to be caught in between. There is a very fragile peace forming in the kingdoms; it would only take one disaster to bring to a crashing halt.
There is still much that needs to be written down! But that's where having collaborative writers comes in.
I'm really only looking for four other people to join in on this, and if you are an interested party then more information will be given to you if I'm contacted in PMs. I don't intend for this roleplay to launch soon as I'm still deep in the world building process, but since this will be a collaborative work now would be a better time than ever to get some more hands working on this project.
As a further note, this will be a very character driven story. For face claims we'll also be using drawn images that are not anime in style. Take a look at my characters below for an example of the art style I expect of face claims;
If you're interested please contact me either through PMs or through Discord.
