Theo might be traveling through the Darkwood too. I'm good for a collab with anyone.

Oh, Guy, is there anywhere in particular Nethaniel needs to be, or anything he needs to be doing? If not I was going to have him in Citha for the usual Inquisitor stuff.

A collab would be fine, he has plenty of time to do what he does best.

Would you care to start off, or should I?

Heh. That's perfectly fine Tally; I figure Eph will get himself into basically the same predicament as he did last time with Dez. I'll use the old heretical write for it and get that started now, actually.

EDIT: Never mind, it's 502ing again. So I'll use this instead: Heretical Write

And those I have called, they remember,
And they shall endure."

So, no one wants to collab with me? I'll probably post in the Darkwood forest soon then.

Re: Baekoth: Revolution of the Heretical

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Ezarael on Sat Aug 09, 2014 11:31 pm

I'm interested almostinsane, but I have reservations about the collab. I kind of painted myself into a corner with my character's motivations and whatnot, so I have to be particular in finding a reasonable way to get her OUT of the darned forest.

Right now my most approachable option is to have her meet up and travel with Ev and Eph through the forest. After that I have a reasonable approach to having her leave with them. She's not the type to approach caravans or large groups of people, especially soldiers, so that puts a damper if he's on an escort.

Idea though for the three of you guys, open to discussion. This would mean withdrawing from the first post with Ev and Eph so almostinsane isn't left out. Uhh, ended up being a lot more here than I had thought so bear with it plox. D:

I'm assuming Theo is travelling in a group (seems the most logical anyway), now what if something were to happen to that group as he's going travelling through the Darkwood, say they were attacked by some gnarly group of beasts (not unheard of) and only a few survive, fleeing deeper into the forest. This gives some reason for Ila'ra to help Theo and what few survivors there are.

I'm not sure how deep the Darkwood is or how long a travel through from Dorchaide to Darkwood Keep would be, but would a few days or more sound reasonable (I'm inclined to no longer than a week, any input Guy?). So it's possible that Theo would be travelling from the Keep to Dorchaide when this happens, and then by the next posting round the four of us can collab (is that too many people D:) with them meeting up as they head back to the Keep.

Thoughts, ideas, suggestions?

That sounds good to me, Ez. I'd imagine Theo would have a bodyguard or two. :)

It could easily be one of those situations where something bad happens to Theo, then like help comes in from two directions (one being Eph and Ev, the other being Ila'ra.) Then, you know, with baddies vanquished, Theo invites them all to his place for dinner or something, everyone's introduced, basic connections made and all that. :)

Ok time for good news and confessions! :D (Jeebus I talk too much, coffee too stronk)

Planescape: Torment completely sucked me in for the better part of this last week . . . I think, but it's done now and no longer sucking my life into a black-hole.

Since you have quite a bit on your plate Guy, I'd be more than willing to have Nethaniel go about his usual business in Citha and we can leave the collab up for next time around. Yes . . . I was procrastinating because of Ps:T (sorry about that, won't happen again promise), but I'll have his bit up tonight. Maybe tomorrow but I'm feelin' some good mojo right now and I pretty much just woke up a few hours ago.

Oh, by the by, how do ya'll get those images cropped so lovely that they fit into a post so well? Yes, I do click on links and noticed there are websites that I assume allow you make them look so nice.

almostinsane: You have ms paint right? Just click on the map's full image, copy that image onto mspaint and put a numbered grey dot where your character's home is.

So you guys have all your interactions planned out I see lovin it!

Ez: Sorry I didn't respond with my usual promptness, you'll have to forgive me school is starting and I have enrolled! Yay college classes. So this whole week was a lil busy. Should get the hang of managing my time next week tho. I guess I can start the post, and I'm guessing you'd want to send Nathaniel to the south? Since that seems to be where all the action is? Perhaps our poor delusional host to satan messiah queen can feel "evil" stirring in the south? And she can send Nathaniel there to take care of that

Also about the forest, it's pretty large, let's go with half a week large? Does that sound good everyone? I don't know much about scale I'm a map novice.

Yonbibuns, where do you plan on starting with your characters?

Ez: in terms of graphics, I use pixlr for the heavy editing like effects and lighting and photobucket has good frames like kuro uses if you want that look. Photobucket is much easier to use if you're going for speed and the ease to figure out, less stuff to play around with though. In pixlr you dont need to make an account but in photobucket you do, and you just upload your image on either site, pixlr it shows up on the edit right away, on photobucket you just go to the image you uploaded and hit "edit". You can resize the picture and crop off bits you don't want and all that jazz.

If you guys can do the same in this IC as you see over in the original ic that'd be lovely. You don't necessarily need a picture but you need to head your post with the information of your country / city / rough time of day / and name of characters in post (if you're doing a collab there will be more than one)

Photoshop is a wonderful thing, Ez. Well. Both a gift and a curse. Gift because I can make things look snazzy. Curse because I like to make everything look the snazziest, and all that snazzying up takes a bit o' time.

On that note, the header images are 200 by 350 (Width by Height ), and stuff like photobucket will let you have borders like Kiku's.

Ohh, thanks for the info ya'll. I'll check it out and see about editing decent photos for both Nethaniel and Ila'ra.

Guy: Don't worry about the being busy, I'll be there myself next week when I move back up to Chicago. I actually was considering sending Mr. Grim down to Darkwood Keep next, and sounds like a plan with the Queen. I have part of a post started with him finishing up some business in Citha. I can wrap it up real quick and have him head over to the Queen to report with here and we can take it from there? Because I don't want to clutter other pads and the usual RPGWrite 502 here.

As for the map part, I'm not the best with scale either but that was the ballpark for my first guess on distance.

Eegads. Just realized that not everyone would get that message I plastered in CoC.

To summarize:
NOT DEAD
LAPTOP STUPID
BUILT A PC
FINALLY BOUGHT A DESK
NO MORE SPINE-BREAKING SEATING ARRANGEMENTS

That. All of that. So, I'll actually be productive and stop whining about hunkering over my laptop like a scowly goblin with sore legs. Also, I realized that most of the previous rebels are absent. I'm still planning to take them towards the closest port they can find, and she'll probably harass ask Shash to help her obtain ships and anyone with any sea-savvy.
