I'm brand new, and admittedly have no idea what I'm doing. I've checked out the chat. I tabletop and video game RPG, but have never done anything else. So, that being said... I dunno. I guess we go from here.

I was in the same boat not long ago. What we do on here is far different from tabletop or gaming RPGs, this is written stuff. I'd advise reading some of the existing threads to get a feel for the sort of thing on offer. Do you have a particular area you're interested in?

Define "area" - because I've never done this before, so I don't know what it's like or what I'd be interested in.

I've talked with "Master" in the IRC chatroom and he was a great help as to not posting like a total n00b. As far as what I've "diced" I played Vampire (Masquerade and Requiem both) as well as D&D and Star Wars.

Well, let's see. For the D&D side of things, there's the Fantasy section. There are three games going on there right now, and one of them's just getting started (DAWN), so you might find something you're interested in there. For Vampire, there is the Necropolis (in the Everything Else part), that has an interesting backstory the most similar to that you'll get. For Star Wars, unless a Star Wars subforum is created, the closest is the Futuristic part. In all three, I'd advise reading through the most recent threads and seeing what you're interested in.

^.^ Glad you came to Gwing! I am sure that you will get the hang of everything soon. It's quite simple to learn.
