A Brief Introduction

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby serjio on Mon Mar 02, 2020 9:13 am

Hello everyone,,
I had been an active member on this site for a number of years in the past, but had left due to life circumstances (work and school) getting in the way.

Now I'm back, and things have changed since I've been away. This introduction achievement was never part of the site while I was here, so I am here to introduce myself anew and hopefully find a few new friends to enjoy some new RP experiences with!

I'm Serjio, and I've been a creative writer for near 20 years now ever since I was young.

My forte in creative writing is medieval-fantasy grounded in realism, with occasional allowances for magic and mythical happenings. I also am quite strong as a writer in fandom (at least those I'm familiar with). While I can do high fantasy, I prefer a more grounded and realistic setting as opposed to physics defying worlds. But I will indulge occasionally with high fantasy when the mood strikes.

I'd say my biggest weakness in creative writing and role-playing is in high tech futuristic RP's, and I believe this is because far future RP's are just not really my thing. I'm old school. Halo is perhaps the only futuristic setting I can jump into and feel comfortable in.

Thank you for your time everyone, and I wish you all well with your role-playing endeavors!

Hey Serjio! Rem's been tweaking and trying to improve things while you've been gone. The good news is that this part of the forum is also appropriate for welcome backs. So welcome back!

I can definitely sympathize with not liking far future RPs, especially of the high tech variety. The closest I come to that is like, Mega Man and Star Wars. And those are really more Science Fantasy. Though one of my favorite series, Madou Monogatari, is actually set even farther in the future than any sci-fi setting. It's set long after the fall of once great civilizations, after humanity has returned to a more tribal-like state of being and all that's left of the distant high tech past is some ruins and the ocassional out of place enemy. For the most part, it's extremely easy to confuse it for a low tech fantasy setting.

I dubbed the term post-societal to describe it. Would that be something you'd find interesting?

“But in my heart, I sometimes wish they would atone so that I could be that close to a friend.”

Check out my likes and dislikes post and my profile. Then hit me up!
