and what is your name
if you had something else would it still be the same

would your mind dance around
should your brain decide to frown
is there a difference between your world's up and down

are your eyes corporeal
is your skin cold as steel
does your stomach scream like an intestine eel

dream and die and open eyes
this rainbow swirl is soon to cry

spin and spin and rip out your lungs
up in the air would you spit out your tongue
pull out your hairs and bite on your thumb
i've a feeling this meeting hasn't even begun

what do we mean please stand by
to have your fears of death realised
what do we think please stand by
are you convinced that we won't die?

we fire all sorts of metaphorical mortar
did you know that you're only two thirds water?
your body couldn't take it if the world turned bright
now fall back into worry, please stand by

we report on time where we port the crime
pain into income and you pay the fine
are you afraid that we'll never die?
perhaps you are right, now please stand by

the world's pretty backwards we both seem to agree

Last Lost Hope

there once was a whale who flew her own airships
through all the sky waves and down onto airstrips
but up in the cloud lands a monster caught wind
claws like scythes it was a diabolical fiend

the monster slaughtered townsfolk
raining hell and bringing death
the whale armed its ship
and set a course, battle: set

bullets fired and fangs clashed
the whaleship's hull was pierced
smoke bellowed and the whale crashed
the whaleship's end was near

but attached to the whale's head was a device not foreseen
a wondrous mechanatasm to which the monster had screamed
"WHAT IS THIS CONTRAPTION, A LAST LOST HOPE?"
the device snapped into action, and blasted a rainbow note

it echoed through the hills and painted dead men's minds
shapes danced their cares away and the sun forgave the night
for it was no bombardment that ended the monster's reign
simply the whale's song, bringing life back into pain

so the whale died and the monster won
but all is not askew
because although it flies above our skies
it sings her song anew
