Character Arcs/Plots

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Magus1108 on Mon Mar 09, 2015 5:01 pm

This here thread will keep track of any and all character plots and arcs our characters go through, during the course of this RP. If you have an idea for a plot arc for your guy (or gal), and want to see it done, please feel free to post it in here! Then we can integrate it into the RP proper, and see it progress in there.

This thread can also be used to discuss plot points for characters as well, if need be. Just so you guys know!

Horatio Morale:

A general plotline for Horatio will be him seeking revenge against Chester Marston, the ringleader of the men who killed his family and left him for dead. I plan on littering clues and other plot points during the first few "episodes" or so of the RP, as to Marston's whereabouts, with it all building up to an eventual confrontation between Marston and Horatio.

What that encounter entails is not yet hashed out, but it'll be a fairly climatic battle, all the same.

Anna Ward

(Mostly spitballing ideas here for plot hooks or directions that would possibly lead to something interesting, rather than having any definite idea.)

-Anna was born in Deseret and she's never known a life outside of the Faith. While she is fairly educated, everything she's been taught has been through that lens. Therefore, while she is aware of the brutal realities of frontier life after several years of service, she is still in a sense naive in terms of broader politics and life in the East and South. While she's willing to work with lawmen from the Territorial Authority on a local level, if they seem to be respectable and just, she despises the notion of politicking as a trait of Eastern depravity and injustice. For her, justice is justice, and nothing can get in the way of its deliverance. Unfortunately, the realities of politics and the tensions between the North, South, and Deseret are far from black and white.

-Anna's father, Isaac Ward, was once a Dog before a shootout in his service left him with a heavy limp that made running and riding too difficult for him the fight. He met Anna's mother, Sarah, while he was recovering in a hospital in New Life. They soon married and built a ranch not too far from the city. While Isaac has left the life of the Watchdog behind him for a long time, his continued friendship with Horatio Morale showed that he did not abandon entirely, and it is always possible that worse things may return.

-It's also possibly worth noting that Anna may be more sympathetic towards women who are being charged with assorted sins. When it comes to rooting out brothels, she has more often dealt harshly with the owner rather than the working girls, particularly if a man is in charge. While she certainly preaches such work as a sin, in practice she punishes the men that promote it. However, she has far less sympathy for women who she feels accept a harsh fate at the hands of a man without protest.

The initial idea I had for Otto revolved around his infamous "morning massacre" in Drywell. Among those he killed was a prostitute named Maggie. She left behind two young children. When word of the events reached other towns, people stopped visiting Drywell, businesses shut down. In effect, over the next year, the placed literally dried up. The people left, bitter about what had happened, either died or moved on.

A small core though, remained, and hated. This included the two children of the murdered prostitute, who swore vengeance on the man who rode through the town, the man they called The Teuton. Ever since, they've been watching, and now they intend on drawing him out, and punishing him for his crimes.
The road to civilization is paved with bones, and mortared with blood and ash.
