The members are welcoming regardless of literacy and origins, and there really is something for everyone. Everyone is dedicated and very contributive, and the mods are very active, letting nothing slip between the bars. This is also the home to the largest collection of literate RPers I have seen in a while, which is refreshing compared to certain other sites. I love you, EL! <3	10
Mon Jan 25, 2010 7:21 pm	Midnight Insanity	Please excuse the rough reviews. As you can see they are mostly from one person. This person happened to break the rules multiple times. We are a fun loving and "elitist free" community, but we are not lawless. If you break a rule, you will get a second chance, and probably a third. But if the rule breaking becomes excessive, for the good of the forum we have to let people go. It has happened very few times, and as you can see, one such banned member is quite bitter. Please excuse it and don't let it scare you away from our friendly community.	10
Sat Jan 16, 2010 5:43 pm	Kyoichi	Ethereal Lights is an amazing and tight knit community full of competent and respectful roleplayers with varying levels of skill. The Staff is kind, knowledgeable, and easy to get along with. There is a huge selection of RPs with a wide array of Genres. The spam area is fun and not overdone, bringing the community yet closer. The site is easy to navigate, has a sleek look and feel, and is over all enjoyable. Members join every week and are welcomed with respect and kindness. I cannot find a flaw with it. Link is a member who could not follow the rules and spammed and created over 23 RPs at one point. He attempted to GM my OOC, Challenged my Mod authority, continued to argue with me and call me an "ass", and finally got banned. He is sore and believes that he was banned for having a low level of skill. He argued with an admin, other mods, and several members. He posted over 1000 posts of nearly pure spam in less than a month and was dealt with justly.	10
Sun Oct 18, 2009 10:40 pm	Midgardsomer	I find it amusing that an immature dick bag such as Gabe is calling another immature. This man does nothing but try to hide the truth from his members. A few days ago a friend of mine told me what Gabe had done to his site and this site as well. The admins of this site and my friends are acquaintances from Gabe's site. He had thrown so much bullshit around and changed the site so much that they couldn't take it anymore and left, and talked a few other friends into coming with them. Friends which I might add who wanted to leave as well and often asked for the link on their own accord. He spammed the sites on another site to get that site to troll Ethereal and my friends site. I had been part of RPA and joined under my own alias, at this point I will add I had nothing to do with Ethereal until after the fact in which I joined. My friend told me what Gabe did and I took it into my own hands to let the members know what was going on since he was spreading a lie. He had spammed the last site out of hatred, and he had been reported and received a warning from Zetaboards and told that he would be monitored, and is switching boards because of this calling it an "upgrade" HA. Gabe is nothing but a forked tongued snake who's words cannot be trusted. And as for my little informing of the members, well lets just say they removed it rather quickly. But hey, I got my bitch slap in on gabe, thats what he gets for banning me for no reason the first time, just because I was associated with someone he no longer liked.	10
Sat Oct 10, 2009 9:58 am	Midnight Insanity	I'd like to point out that I personally left RPA to escape the drama. You're full of lies Gabe, filthy dirty lies. I can see it in you. Ethereal Lights tries it's best to be a non-elitist, fun, and welcoming community. We're still a little sparse, and not nearly as fancy and what not as RPA, but that's only because we just started and we don't have a few years of experience under our belts. But I can promise, that once we do have this experience, we're not going to turn into paranoid ban-happy jerks. I can say, for a fact, that I have not once advertised EL by spamming and such. I told a few close friends. That is all.	10

Obviously rival roleplaying sites envy our quick success and are fast to try and break us down. If you're looking to have a larger roleplay community than off-topic spam community, EL is the place to go. We have a wide variety of talented roleplayers, and we'd be happy to have anyone as an addition to our boards. :)	10
Thu Oct 08, 2009 6:57 pm	FollowYourMoonlight	I know I have already rated and reviewed EL, but I was just noted that the rating went down and I wondered why anyone would rate EL badly. ZanNight is one of the site's admins. He obviously did not make the bad review because he has never been on Gaia and thus would not know. He has mentioned this multiple times when greeting members that come to EL from Gaia. I sent this link to the admins and they are very upset that someone would rate EL that badly. The site is actually quite informative and easy to navigate. I don't know who would want to rate EL badly. Maybe someone who is jealous of it's quick success. I don't know though. It's really a great place.	10
Thu Oct 08, 2009 4:07 pm	dpink	I love EL!! I love that the community is close and that everyone is much like family. At EL, there are a large spectrum of roleplays to choose from and very few limitations to follow. The staff does anything but limit your creativity, I love it there.	10

I'm sure this is due to the skilled and enthusiastic roleplayers as well as the friendly staff. Unlike most and unmentionable sites, EL runs a democracy, not a dictator.	10

The people are so much fun to just talk with and many of them are very talented RolePlayers. It's still small, but I think it's going to grow into something awesome. I'm really excited.	10

Sun Aug 14, 2011 6:49 pm	Everlasting Nirvana	I'm not attempting to bash the site or anything but there was a confrontation between me and the staff over multiple accounts that I did not possess. I was told to drop the issue or all of my logged IP addresses would be banned. So I did and I went to sleep but when I woke up I had been banned from the site and every single computer or internet device I had ever used to access the site had been banned from the site. I am not trying to start anything with the site because the site is really good all I want to know is why I was banned.	7

I don't care whose telling the truth out of the argument below. I skimmed it, stopped when the trolling started and went straight to the site. There I found a welcoming, though quiet, community. I haven't yet decided whether or not to join, but if you are considering doing so, I encourage you to seek out the unbiased reviews amongst those already up and, most importantly, check out Ethereal Lights for yourself.	7

Over the past two weeks my site has been viciously attacked by members of this community. They have tried numerous amounts of times to register under dummy accounts and advertise to the members of my forum. They have impersonated members of my community and went out of their way to distribute personal information online, in a attempt to hurt the real lives of my staff members. Ethereal Lights is a place for the immature and the unreasonable. If you enjoy forum drama and want to be a part of a community where your personal information is in the hands of those who will abuse it, then this might be a community for you. However I thought I would warn everyone how immature these staff members are. Since they clearly like to play dirty and sneaky. This site isn't very informative. I didn't feel very welcomed and the roleplays were very difficult to get into. I honestly would rather roleplay on Roleplay Gateway or Gaia Online. and i think they are right this site sucks as day.	1
