Does this song sound too much like...

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Arietraekos on Sun Jul 19, 2009 2:00 pm

Hello Roleplayers, Riikano is attempting another scratch at writing some music with my guitar pro software. And After writing the beginning i felt like it sounded way to much like "One" from metallica. So i'm just curious to whether people here think it does so far and whether or not i should continue writing or just kill it.

Here's the Rapidshare (no virus or anything is in it)

http://rapidshare.com/files/257667962/C ... t.gp5.html

Note: this rapidshare will only work the first 10 times, so unless you really want to try and help me; Don't open it. And if it doesn't work then it was already done 10 times. Just send me a message or make a reply to this post and i'll renew it.

Thanks to all who help,

~Riikano

~Edit, after many edits myself and a freind have made it sound a helluva lot better and it no longer needs assistance. And for all of those who tried to open this music, it would require the Guitar Pro 5 (or higher) software. Sorry for wasting space.

Sounds good, keep working on it. The repeating measures such at measures 1-3 sound similar to One, but not enough to be considered a rip. I'd keep on it and add a little bit more to the bass line. You can check out my music at: http://www.myspace.com/project2or3 I do mostly keyboards but a few songs have had Guitar. I also play bass, guitar and keys in an IA band named Wikked : http://www.myspace.com/wikkedforever Keep up the good work. I started out on Midi, which is awefully close to GuitarPro. But you should try to switch to audio recs. even if they sound raw.

Thank you very much for the response, i'm glad at least somebody on this site can look at the music... Oh and just for safety, Please don't copy.... you said you were in a band and i got a little scared, Copyrights and all that... anyway. I have a newer and much longer version. Check it out!

The change you did to the secondary guitar completely get rid of the "One" sound. Great job. Keep it up. Though I doubt you'd pay the $35-50 fee for copyright on an unfinished song, I promise not to rip off your idea lol. I respect others achievements a bit too much for that. Sounds awesome, looking forward to hearing a final version.

welll while i continue figuring out drum lines and other things, are there any changes you would like to suggest? I mean making a song by yourself is a helluva alot harder than with a person to help point out faults. Any ideas or edits in your mind?
