Doukutsu Monogatari AKA Cave Story: A beautiful, nostalgic "Metrovania" game of 8-bit glory with a slight taste of RPG elements on the side, with multiple endings to boot. It really is hard to describe, so I suggest you play it to find out what it's all about. Convenient download link is here. Runs on PC/Mac

Planeshift: A free MMORPG (with enough emphasis on the RP elements to warrant a brief how-to section) that is still in Alpha stages. Despite this, downloads are available and the game works. I've yet to give it much of a run-through, but from the brief 10-30 seconds I witnessed last night, it looks like it's coming along well. Convenient download link is here. Runs on PC/Mac?Linux

Runescape: A (primarily) browser-based MMORPG game that has become immensely popular over the internet. Your traditional RPG game with a variety of quests and skills. While the game is browser based, it offers a client download for users who want fast access, and while the game is primarily free in order to get the most out of it (eg. access to the rest of the world, all quests, certain skills, etc) be expected to pay monthly for it.

A very gory MMOG (Massively Multiplayer Online Game, general description for anything like Ragnarok Online, Space Cowboy Online, etc). It's gone into open beta now, unfortunately, seems the DL links on the site don't even work, and seem to be out-of-date with still talking about Closed Beta. I haven't played it yet, but certainly looks like it might be some fun. (Rated M)

A game based on Chinese Martial Arts (Kung Fu, and the opposite spectrum of spell casting, Chi Kung). Graphics are pretty good, the grind isn't horrific until late game. There's a lot of PVP in this game at certain points, as if you choose White or Black Clans, there are maps where you'll be fighting them, if they cause trouble or you do, or for the heck of it. I have a Lvl 30+ Female Wu-Tang White Tiger (Hybrid of all Kung Fu and Chi Kung, except the major things to other respective clan roles- essentially the hardest class in the game, but easy in some respects). Graphics aren't bad, there's not much in the way of lag, though you may get some video lag, especially in more populated area's, I know I do (3ghz P4, GF6800, 1g 533mhz RAM). Money gathering can be a pain though, but at other times easy. ([Item]Blood Essence + Selling Shop = +250,000 in your pocket easy)
