So, while we wait, can I create a new god? Sure, it would take some work to micromanage the two of them, but since I want to keep my intrest level high, I would like to do so. I already have a niche all worked out. Insofar, we have all had a theme. But, what if I wanted to make a god with no theme? No set job? Well, he would have some duties, but not in the over reaching sense we usually see. It would be a god dedicated to one nation, and that nation only. it could even be used as a story arch really. So, I would like to put forth:
Jeez, I know that we already are going to have a whole mess of storyarcs, and it will all eventually mesh together. But I simply want to install a god that reaches all races and nations right from the beginning. While writing this, I already have ther basic plotline working in my head. (I still have the thing with Urgael cooking too.) *hint hint*
It would basically be as such *ahem (clearing of throat)*: Long ago, men existed. These were not the men put in place by the gods, as those men would come much later, millenia infact. These were the men of iron, of clay, and of stone. They wandered the earth aimlessly, without purpose. Then, one eternity, there arouse a great noise among the men of clay. They sang with one voice, of the coming of the 'New Ones', and the downfall of those that were in power. Needless to say, the men of iron and the men of stone were none too happy with this. They scolded the men of clay, putting them down for their silly words.
Aswell, the Old Gods were not happy either. These Gods were far different than those we know today. They had immensely more power, and governed the whole of the universe, not just one element or role. But, they saw the truth in the men of clay's words. The great Old Gods began to prepare. They created new elements in order to combat the ones that would come. At that time, there were eight Old Gods. The first created Light, and with it made a mighty spear. The Second created fire, and made a stave that blocked out the stars. The third created water, and set about readying to heal his fellow gods. The Fourth however, had more sense than the other gods. He saw what they were doing, and bemoaned that it would bring about exactly what they feared. So, in his good sense, he hid from the fighting, casting a great earthen shell over the earth. With him he took the men of iron, clay and stone. He then set these men to rest, until the New Ones were gone. He slept aswell, and has ever since.
Meanwhile, the other seven of the god's did not notice their comrade was gone. Already, they grew impatient. Where were these New Ones that the golems had spoken of? Why were they not arriving? In his fury, the eldest god smashed his fist into the nearest available object, the second eldest god. In an instant, the gods collided, making many new elements and constructs. This raging battle was the cataclysm that began the universe as we know it. Aswell, from this resulted the New Gods, as the men of clay had predicted.
It doesn't need to be said that the New Gods don't like to talk about their origins, and firmly deny the existence of the Old Gods. But perhaps the fourth eldest will awaken one day. I daresay he wont be too happy.
