I hate to be such a terrible person, but...
Would you mind if I sent in my vision of The Crow? See which one you like better? :)

Question! Will all the characters interact at some point or will the couple will each have their own world?

If they'd interact can I have the male role for Sleeping Beauty? Thanks.

Yes they will all interact whenever they want to run into eachother. All the male roles are brothers so they can communicate more at first. Sleeping beauty can only communicate with her true love at first then the others will slowly start to see her to. And yes I will reserve both roles.

I hate to do this, but I must bow out of this RP. Although it looks fantastic, I don't think I could keep up with it and two others. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to be in this RP but I must once again bow out. Thanks for understanding!!

Hello there, I've just registered with this site and noticed your entry yesterday, in the looking for players section. You seemed to still have an opening for the role of the Saviour.
I've mulled it over and have some ideas for that character, so I logged in to check the position was still available before writing them out.

I'll work up a more detailed application and hopefully post it in a few hours time.
Oh and I hope this is the right place to post interest, rather than in the looking for players section.

Re: A Gothic Fairytale

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Huscarl on Tue Nov 13, 2012 3:02 pm

Thanks.
I have a kernel of an idea for the character and a rough outline for the Rapunzel fairy tale.

Since we have a definite goal in mind, which is 'true loves kiss' and we want to have some mixups and shenanigans before we get there, it seemed like a good idea to have a rough outline around which to improvise, so that both characters are pulling in the same direction.

It will also serve to show the direction I would like to take the story, so that the GM & Rapunzel's player can decide if that is the way they would like things to go. Roleplay is a meeting of minds, so no problem if this is not what you had in mind for the male character.

Oh and a quick apology. I know you have outlined that Rapunzel has 60ft of hair and lives in a tall tower, but that feels a bit disney and too static to me. Sorry and all that, but I really would like to see the two of them walking through the mist shrouded forest, with the pale light of the moon glimmering down on them through the bare branches.

May I suggest an alternative.
The witches house is only two storeys high, but the sides are enchanted to be without handhold. Rapunzel's hair is long and luxuriant, coming down to her feet. (long enough to be remarkable, without being encumbering). So by lowering her hair, he can on tip toe just reach it to get a hold.

Premise.
The evil witch wishes to ruin both of the lovers lives.
As a fortune teller she tells the Prince that he is doomed to immortality as a blind man, due to an evil enchantress in the forest, who is even now weaving the spell from her cottage in the woods.
The witch has cast the doom of blindness on him, but needs to lure the Prince to her cottage for it to work. She intends for the Prince to slay Rapunzel, the one person who could cure him and then live out his life in misery.

Act 1. The Prince stalks Rapunzel.
The Prince visits the cottage and persuades Rapunzel to let him in. Whereupon he intends to slay the 'evil enchantress', but hesitates on seeing her beauty and tells her of his doom and why he must slay her.
Rapunzel leaps from the window in fright to run off into the forest.
The Prince tries to follow but falls onto the enchanted thorns the witch has planted beneath the window, blinding himself.

Act 2. Rapunzel stalks the Prince.
The Prince is helpless and blunders about in the forest.
Seeing his doom has overtaken him, Rapunzel feels merciful and follows him, trying to get close enough to heal him, without allowing him to seize her.
She succeeds and as his eyesight returns, she runs off into the dangerous forest, lest he resume his attempt to slay her.

Act 3. The Prince chases Rapunzel.
Realising he has been lied to, the Prince chases after Rapunzel and saves her from whatever danger she has fallen into, thereby earning her trust.

Act 4. The Witch attacks.
With the two lovers united, the evil witch arrives to do the job herself. Intent on killing Rapunzel and reblinding the Prince. United, the two lovers overcome her. (I'm thinking Rapunzels player and myself, share in posting the witch's actions.

Act 5. The Kiss.
With their common enemy defeated, the two lovers entwine for true loves kiss, while behind them the evil witch is forced to 'dance at their betrothal' by having been strung up from a tree branch, her kicking feet as she strangles to death, being her dance.

Then we improvise around that framework, plus we might encounter the other pairs in the forest and go off at a tangent for a while, but we have a skeleton framework to give us direction and bring us back on course.

Comments ?
Too detailed ?

I also should have him up by Wednesday night. :P Though, I am a bit concern for those who had reserved a spot and not heard of since. Maybe we/you should PM them and remind them that they have a character spot reserved. :3 I just don't want such an awesome idea not go forth due to the lack of characters. XD That and I worked/am working hard on my characters. xP It'd be a shame if I couldn't actaully use them. ^3^ Sorry if I'm coming out as impatient.. :P
