Is it meaningful to talk about high and low states of consciousness? Do some thought patterns have "higher vibrations" than others?

It's fair to say a worm has a "lower" state of consciousness than, say, a dog, so I don't see why we wouldn't be able to use the same language when describing our own thoughts. What that has to do with "vibrations" I'm not sure, but I suppose every pattern has a frequency of sorts. Precisely speaking, you can measure the wave function and compute an exact value, but to what end?

My experience with higher vibrations is that it is a load of spiritualist woo. I don’t know what purpose it serves. Is there any redeeming qualities to it?

Lizard brain, subconscious, instinct. Lower consciousness has a lot of different names that are substantiated by science, I think. I'm not sure that I understand what is being discussed currently, though.
