The Enkido sped back to the Gilgamesh. Zach and Ess landed inside to a mighty cheer from the crew.

Boris and Hal explained everything that had gone on, including Millie's extended abscence.

"Ess, how're we going to save her? We can't have one of our own sitting in a prison cell, we need to get her out!"

"Zach, I know, but there's only so much we can do. Maybe if we had a plan..."

"Ess?"

"I think I have a plan!"

Thirty minutes later, Epiphany stood poised in the radar shadow of L3 behind the Gilgamesh, the Enkido floating in front of it, actual battle damage on its hull.

"You know what to do, Zach?"

"Yes, keep the MS busy while you emergency dock, break out Millie and escape. I promise I won't kill anyone."

"Same here, but we have to be careful, when you see me fly off, I'll go around L4 to make it seem as though I'm escaping to there, you go off to L2. We go around Earth and meet up at the Gilgamesh an hour later."

"Got it... are you all set?"

"I'm ready when you are."

"Then run!"

The Enkido flew off towards the colony, Epiphany soaring behind it, firing its vulcans.

In the Epiphany, Zach was getting nervous. He hoped Ess would be alright, after all, he was in the gundam, and she was just in a ship...

Han, Eota, and Base flew out of the colony when they picked up something on their radar.

Eota - Something on the radar, Lieutenant!

The blast from the vulcans ripped through space and Base brought up his shield easily blocking them.

Base - We have vulcan cannon fire!

Han narrowed his eyes as he aimed his rifle in the direction from the fire.

Han - Alright, Kids...if my guess is right...those came from the head of a monster...a monster known as Gundam!

Han pulled the trigger to his beam rifle firing it into space hoping it would score a hit. Eota and Mars aimed their beam rifles ready to fire.

Zach

The ionized beam of energy sliced through the vacuum in front of Epiphany, cutting Zach off from his "attack" on The Enkido. He saw the smaller ship dock with the emergency bay, hopefully it would be close to the prison area.

There were three main suits bearing down on his positions, all of them Leos. Zach recognized the attack pattern as an arrowhead formation, the leader in front and his support flanking him to the rear. He had seen it work during the battle of Libra, and he saw how the Earth forces had taken it down.

Igniting his beam saber, he suddenly shot off to the right, evading the shots of the leader, and shooting down to dodge the fire of the support. The Leos came around for another pass. Zach knew that as long as they had the beam cannons, his beam saber was no use, and vulcans didn't have the range beam weapons did. The Leo pilots knew this as well, for the put on an extra burst of speed and bore down on Epiphany.

It was time to unleash his custom design.

Engaging the energy refractors, Zach bent the energy of his saber so that it resembled a boomerang. He reached back and hurled it at the Leos.

They scattered and reformed, it was the beauty of the arrowhead formation; it could break and assemble easily. However, they thought they were out of danger.

Zach fired off towards the Leo to the right. Doing so, he activated the magnetrons in Epiphany's right hand, calling the hilt of the boomerang back.

Like a spinning green frisbee of death, the boomerang returned, hitting the unsuspecting Leo in the back, rupturing the Vernier pack. The compacted fuel ignited and sent the Leo rocketing off away from the colony, spinning like a bizarre mechanical ballerina. Its fellow supporter hesitated and sped off after its partner.

This left only one Leo.

The pilot inside must've been familiar with the art of battle. He shouldered his beam cannon and withdrew his saber. Zach in turn retracted the refractors, leaving him with a standard beam saber as well.

For once, Zach was grateful for his father's teachings in melee combat. He may not have been much of a pilot, but he was a damn good swordsman.

Hopefully his skills would tranfer to piloting.

Ess

The Enkido docked in the emergency hangar. Ess and her crew leapt out of the ship, some wearing bandanas to hide their faces, Ess kept her face clear though, except for a small air filtrater she held in her mouth.

Already guards were pouring into the emergency bay to help the supposedly damaged shuttle. Boris, wearing a blue bandana, pulled the pin on his grenade and threw it at the men.

With a hiss, a resounding boom, and a flash off light, the grenade knocked the guards to the floor before unleashing its load of knock-out gas to make sure they stayed down.

All was going well for now. Ess hoped Zach was faring well outside the colony...

Hal assisted by knocking out the line of guards in front of the prison complex with a flash-bang-gas grenade. From there, it was easy enough to take a keycard to gain access to the high-security area.

Once inside though, things took a drastic turn.

Inside the complex, the main door slid shut behind them, and automatic turrets burst into rapid-fire. The Defenders scrambled to find cover, Boris hiding behind a luncheon trolly rolled over to a computer terminal. Doing his best to access it, but not being able to find a password, he stood up and waved his arms. The turrets, sensing movement, swiveled and fired at him as he dove behind the trolley once more as bullets peppered the terminal and the computer systems behind it.

The turrets stopped firing at once.

Splitting up, Ess and three of her team took to the individual wings of the prison, while Marilyn stayed behind with Boris to try and patch up the bullethole in his ankle.

They had to find Millie... if she was still alive...

The Gundam came out of the black abyss of space. Han, Base, and Eota easily avoided it's strange beam weapon that it had thrown, but they were caught off guard by the surprise it held. In a sharp blast of energy from the fuel in Base's Vernier's being hit, Base was sent flying off into space with his yells echoing over the comm. traffic.

Han - Rynolds!

Eota - Base!

Han glared at the Gundam. Base would be alright, Han had to continue to think that.

Han - Ensign Mars, go after Base now!

Eota - But, what about you sir!?

Han - Go after him! That's an order!

Eota took off after Base as Han shouldered his beam rifle and drew the beam saber from underneath his sheild. Han also turned his communications to an open channel.

Han - Alright you monster...you're going to pay for hurting one of my boys!

Han thrust forward at full speed at the Gundam pulling his Leo's saber back and bringing up the shield in a defensive position.

-

Elsewhere, the warnings going off inside the facility we're like nails on a chalk board. Obnoxious but got the point across. Kiyoshi had worked fast to get into near the same position as the attackers. He had achieved something he had become quite good at, stalking, and making sure he wasn't seen. Years of hunting down people like animals helped him with this ability. He watched carefully, keeping his eyes closed and covering his ears when need be because of the flash-bangs, the attackers. Not a single one of his men had been killed. Kiyoshi had decided to follow the woman that was in the team after they got passed the gun turrets. He wanted to see for sure that Millie had told him the truth.

Zach

One of the first things Zach learned was that although he could have defeated this man with a saber had they been on foot on Earth, that didn't mean he could beat him in a Gundam in outer space...

It took Zach nearly a second to convert his ability as a fencer into a command as a pilot to move Epiphany into such a position. For now, he could just hold off the Leo as the more experienced pilot used his less-refined but still lethal blows against Epiphany. For a moment, Zach considered using the micro missiles in Epiphany's chest, but that would completely destroy the Leo, and there weren't supposed to be any casualties in this operation.

Seeing an opening, Zach lashed out, and neatly severed the foot of the Leo with a well-positioned swipe of the saber, in normal combat, this would topple his enemy, but once again, Zach was taught the difference between Gundam and human fencing.

Completely unfazed by the loss of a foot, the Leo brought its own saber down on the inside elbow of Epiphany that was holding the saber. It wasn't severe, but it was enough to disconnect the electric lines that worked the magnets in Epiphany's hand, so the beam boomerang could be thrown, but wouldn't return.

Ess... hurry up...!

Ess

Ess was busy at that moment rewiring the access panel to Millie's cell. It was hard enough without the sirens and Millie's excited squeals of joy. Things were coming slightly undone, Boris was down, and Marilyn who had the last flash-bang grenade was busy tending him. With a satisfying whoosh, the prison door slid open, and Millie flew out and hugged Ess, who was already dragging her down the hall. Pressing a button on the comm that sent out a simple triple ping told the Defenders that Millie was safe and on her way out.

Everything could have gone perfectly well, had it not been for the man in sunglasses, blocking the exit to the prison, leveling a gun at the lot of them.

Han heard the warning signaling his foot was damaged but ignored it. He lashed out several more times.

Han - Why is it we colonists always have to suffer because of you earth dwellers! You always bring these wars onto yourselves!

Han put his feet down on the pedals making his Leo fly up above the Gundam. Bringing himself behind he slashed across trying to damage the Gundam's Verniers, but in the last second the Gundam pulled away and turned quickly.

Han - Damn you're fast!

Han replaced his beam saber and then drew his beam rifle firing three burst of powerful light at the Gundam as it circled around the Gundam hoping for another opening. Seeing one, Han shouldered his rifle and flew in at top speed at the Gundam again. He slammed the shield into the gut of the Gundam and then again drew the beam saber from the shield pulling it back ready for attack with a mighty roar.

-

Kiyoshi aimed the gun directly at his enemies.

I've been watching you. You've been using non-lethal force, I admire that.

Kiyoshi looked at Millie and then at Ess.

I'm guessing your the one in command..."Ess", I think she said.

Kiyoshi nodded towards Millie and then again fixed his eyes on Ess.

Don't be too hard on her, she did well for being so young...

With that Kiyoshi raised his gun slowly, then tossed it down the hall way before walking off down the hallway away from the exit.

The red bleeps all over his screen soon began to die, his tight grip upon the handles of the seat releasing as well...A shudden jolted down his spine, he'd never really been used to that and probably never will.

Finally, the Pegasus errupted through the atmosphere, fire seeming to blaze down it completley, causing it to appear....demonic...Without hesitation the radar blared to life, igniting all the bleeps on his screen to signal ships, shuttles....The Pegasus then sifted through them, signaling out the two mobile suits engaging in the battle. The power shifted back to all engines, igniting them to move it towards the two.

Once again, the Pegasus had returned in a blaze of glory.

Zach

Damn! Damn! Damn!

Panic was slowly setting in on Zach. He was losing ground trying to battle this suit without killing the pilot. Following the rules would not help at this moment, there had to be something he could do-

A triple ping signaled that Millie was about to be rescued. Now was the time to finish the job!

Sheathing the saber, Zach pulled out the dual hilts to his beam swords. Igniting both of them, Zach simultaneously decapitated the Leo and punctured the Vernier pack again, hoping to send this one flying into the void as well.

Something went wrong. The more powerful beam swords easily cleaved off the head, but went through the vernier pack, damaging the fuel lines to the Leo itself. All thoughts off the mission leaving his mind, Zach flew Epiphany away from the sparking Leo as the fuel lines ignited and the Leo burst from internal explosions, sending shrapnel everywhere.

Praying the pilot had the sense to eject before it blew, Zach made his way away from L3, his distraction job done.

If only it were that simple.

Ess

There was no time to wonder about the man discarding his gun or how he knew her name. Ess had a convict and an injured man to get back to The Enkido. The red-haired young woman blew past the man with her crew in tow.

It was relatively easy getting back to The Enkido. As they vacated the colony, Ess looked out the cockpit window, hoping to see any sign that Zach was alive and out of danger... No sign of that. She had to head to L4 and back to The Gilgamesh.

The Leo was breaking up all around Han. He quickly opened the hatch and prayed he could escape in time.

Eota - Lieutenant! Are you alright!

Eota was flying in as quickly as he could in his Leo. His left hand held onto the hand of Base's damaged Leo.

Han - Eota! Base! Get out of here! The Leo's going to blow!

The sparks from the Leo increased and Han closed his eyes.

Han - So...this is how my story ends...

Suddenly, he felt an embrace around him. It wasn't an embrace of a warm lover that he had lost to the war, here to carry him to the after life like he first thought. No, it was the cold metal hand of Base's Leo. Eota flew off moving into a safe location. Han watched through the openings in the Leo's hands as his Leo exploded. The bright light field it's former location for a second and then faded.

Han - Get us to Prime! Quick, Eota!

Eota - Yes, sir!

Base - Are you alright sir?

Base asked his question as he tightened his hands just slightly around Han, making sure he was safe. Han closed his eyes taking in the feelings he just had then before Base's hands closed completely around him his eyes widened in disbelief.

Han - What the hell is that!

Eota turned and looked at the ship that was moving into the area. The three pilots couldn't tell from this distance what it was, except for Han.

Han - Pegasus?

-

Kiyoshi walked into the command center for the L3 Defense Force. Workers were rushing back and forth as they were getting the information from the battle.

What's the status of our mobile suits!?

Worker - One Leo has been damaged, and one destroyed, sir.

I want the pilot's names now.

The Worker turned to his station then back to Kiyoshi.

Worker - Lt. Han Richards' Leo was destroyed, Ensign Base Rynolds' Leo was damaged, both are being brought back by Ensign Eota Mars.

Kiyoshi held back his sigh of relief as his eyes focused on one of the main screens in the front of the room. He could just barely make out the form of a Leo carrying along another Leo, but that was not what he was focused on. He was more concerned on the ship coming into view. He knew what it was and he whispered the name...

Pegasus...

The bright flash of the Leo ignites the dark sky as it errupts. He couldn't stand it no more, he began acctivating the ship's A.I. to begin prepping the Leo-Esque. It was time to take action, no matter what the outcome was. He knew the Colonies were after him and the hangover wasn't a great addition neither. His hand brushed on the intercomm once again as he made his announce ship-wide once more.

Mia, i'm sorry, I have to go. I have the ship set to auto pilot incase I don't make it back. Please, take care of Pegasus.

He didn't take long, dressing in the flight suit. He leaped from the floor of the bay, propelling himself through the zero-gravity up to the cockpit of Leo-Esque. He entered into the cockpit and immediately checked the systems, everything optimal.

The Leo-Esque shifted about on a rotary, turning to face the launching area of Pegasus. It was then propelled forwards atop the ramp, ushering the massive custom Leo out into the void of space.

His engines ignited behind him, propelling himself towards the mobile suit that was now attempting to disembark from it's previous battle with the destroyed Leo. His hands froze on the controls as a message popped upon his screen.

No...it's a gundam...

A large red blip appeared on Zach's long-range sensors. Something big was coming at him, something with weapons out the wazoo. Undoubtably, this thing was meant to reinforce L3...

Yep, already another Leo had been launched from its hangar bay and was on an intercept course.

Was ANYTHING going to go right today?

"Man, I don't know who you are, but you picked the wrong Colony, not to mention the wrong day."

Zach knew that voice! It was Wind, the guy who had contacted him the night of the assassination attempt! Zach opened his comm to explain, but only received static.

Wind was closing in quickly with its beam glaive drawn. Zach sheathed one beam sword and assumed a defensive position.

This was no ordinary Leo...

The ferocity of the attacks increased with this new suit. It took Zach all his concentration to block the onslaught of attacks this new suit brought.

His beam sword fizzled as the power blew out. The other wasn't fully charged yet, so Zach pulled out his other melee weapon, one he wasn't fully trained with yet.

The Beam Scythe.

Lighting the blade and extending the handle, Zach began fighting with the saber, trying to keep the Leo far enough away to strike.

One for one.

Zach was able to get a strong slash across the chest as the enemy twirled and raked Epiphany's armor with the energy beam.

This battle... he had to get away... Ess and the others were waiting on him!

Kiyoshi sat in a command chair angry with himself. He wanted to be out there again, not here as some political leader.

Worker - Sir, a mobile suit has been launched from the Pegasus...

Kiyoshi stood to his feet and walked towards the main screen.

Put it on the main viewer, try to open a communication with the pilot...

The worker turns to his station and tries to make contact with the new Leo in the battle.

Another Worker turns from his station.

2nd Worker - We've received a faint transmission from L4. The problems with the computer system is causing some transmission errors, but from what we can make out Zhelir is on his way.

Kiyoshi sat back down in his chair in the Command Center.

Just like everyone to show up when it's too late. Try and contact him as well. We need to review the data of the Gundam that attacked us.

2nd Worker - Yes, sir.

Leo-Esque blurred through space, or so it seemed....He wasn't ready for this, no way was he ready for this...Thoughts rushed through his mind as he acctivated the comm to the Gundam.

Man, I don't know who you are, but you picked the wrong Colony, not to mention the wrong day.

First and foremost, he cut all transmissions except from that of the Pegasus. He wanted no interruptions if he was to win this battle. His left hand lowered to his side, reaching to his back towards the hilt of his beam glaive. His fingers interlocked, grabbing hold firmly of the glaive to bring it about from his back in a spinning motion. Light soon begins to emit from the spins, igniting the sky to signal that it had been acctivated.

His engines ignited to their full power, continuing forwards to near the massive mobile suit. He knew this was wrong, every thought in his mind told him to escape, there was no way that he was prepared to take on a gundam in this...Sure, Leo-Esque was great, but only against other mobile suits, not a gundam!

Hs propelled his glaive forwards, abruptly slashing against the left arm of the gundam. Too slow, blocked. He then raised the weapon once more to usher downwards, slicing towards the chest. Blocked once again! Damn! He knew he was fast, but not fast enough for this! Suddenly, the beam saber began to dissipate, he knew this was his chance! He fired his right thruster while canceling his left, aiming the beam glaive outwards to his exposed side as the gundam reached for another foreign weapon.

The blade moved freely into the side of the gundam, implanting itself into it's metallic shell. No! He attempted to pull it from the suit but the scythe came down too quickly, he barely had time to propell back from it. It didn't matter though, the edge of the beam claimed a cross line through his suit.

As he moved back he raised his right arm, aiming the Dober Gun towards the suit as he went back. A shot was fired from the Gun, moving directly towards the right thigh of the suit as he attempted to figure out his next move...

Zach had never liked guns, he had his share pointed at him in his lifetime, and he had always frozen up when he found himself staring down the barrel. This time it was a really, really, big gun.

Before Zach could react, the Dober gun had fired, and its heated shell lodged itself in the leg of Epiphany, burning through the gundanium armor. Zach, scared as hell at the prospect of the glowing-molten-lead deaths associated with the Dober, he opened Epiphany's chest and let loose a barrage of twenty-two micro missiles at the enemy suit, which easily dodged the missiles that didn't have a chance to lock onto the power signature.

The new Leo came back at him, the glaive twirling like a wicked baton-

*ping!*

The beam sword was fully-charged!!!

Sheathing the scythe, Zach withdrew the beam sword again, and he returned to his element!

The two energy blades connected and the energy crackled and flashed in space, sending the two MS spiralling backwards. The large ship that had launched the MS was approaching quickly, Zach would have to force it to keep its distance, otherwise it would aid his enemy and make things that much worse.

Deflecting the beam glaive once more, Zach loaded another volley of missiles into Epiphany's chest. He swiped at the Leo, which flew up to avoid the energy.

All clear!

Epiphany's chest openned, and the missiles went spiralling towards Pegasus, there was no way they'd destroy it, but it would definately damage it severely.

At least that was one problem out of the way.

Han walked into the Command Center with his helmet under his arm. Kiyoshi turned his chair to look back at him.

Glad to see you are alright, Leutinent.

Han - I lost to someone who is green...

Kiyoshi raised an eyebrow as Han walked over to stand beside Kiyoshi to look at the battle going on outside. Kiyoshi turned his chair as Han got closer.

Han - The Gundam was powerful, not the most powerful. The pilot had more luck than skill. I got clouded by my own rage.

It happens, don't beat yourself up over it. Eota and Base...are they alright?

Han sighs as he closes his eyes.

Han - Eota is fine, but Base is a little shaken up. He's beating himself up for being knocked out of the battle so quickly.

He is lucky to be alive, if the situation was different, he could have been destroyed.

Han - If the Gundam's pilot was more skilled, we would not have stood a chance. The Gundam seems to be just as fearsome as the ones from the past.

Kiyoshi nodded in agreement as he began to type something in the control pad on the arm of his chair.

These are a few designs I have been tinkering with. I am debating on having them built.

Three images of mobile suits appeared on the screen to the left of the main screen in the front of the command center with their designations and code names beside them.

Image
L3VF-PT-01 "Marinus"

Image
L3VF-PT-02 "Espionus"

Image
L3VF-PT-03 "Artillerus"

Han gazed with his mouth open.

Han - Gundams!

Kiyoshi nodded again and smiled.

Once I save up enough money to fund the project to build the first proto-type to test the frame, the other two proto-type's will be built here on L3. Then...

On the screen to the right of the main screen two more images appeared.

Image
L3VF-GM-01 "Gun-Marine"

Image
L3VF-GM-01H "Gun-HeavyMarine"

We debate on possible mass production...

He watched in sheer amazement as his shot struck the thigh of the suit, tearing through gundanium and anything that was placed in it's path. His suit continued it's movements back from the gundam, knowing that close range would be his downfall..

He stared defiantlly at the mobile suit on his screen as he watched the chest open, knowing full well that it was either gatling guns or missiles. His screen ignited in a fury of red to signal that the incoming projectile was micro missiles! He diverted his suit to the left, barely moving past three of them before bolting upwards. Another burst to the left was accompanied by one downwards. It didn't take long, the missiles canceled each other out for some reason, must not've been a good lock.

A trickle eased down from his head, sweat, no.....The evasive measures has launched whatever it was on the screen of his flight suit....Blood. He knew full well that many pilots had died because of this....he wasn't going to be one.

He attempted to shift all energy to his engines in a quick fly by of the mobile suit, extending his right arm for the glaive. Success! He'd caught him off guard and claimed the glaive! The right booster then fired again as the left canceled out, turning his suit around to face the back of the gundam, though it wasn't. The gundam had turned around quicker than he had...This really wasn't looking good..

He then advanced, twirling the glaive to his best possiblity as he neared him. He swung the glaive outwards to the chest of the suit as he moved within striking range. He gritted his teeth, watching as it moved inwards to the suit. God, it was taking forever to get there! One thing he didn't expect, the sword. It came out to block the glaive. He bursted back, he had to, a new game plan had to be placed in order.

The chest compartments of the gundam opened again, this time not targeting Leo-Esque...No, he was aimed towards the Pegasus! He couldn't speed fast enough to get between their path..He had to try....The glaive was dropped, as well as the Dober Gun. No, he discarded all weapons! The engines were over heating...he knew it, and the gundam pilot knew it. There was no way that he'd let them get to the ship, no way he'd let them get to Mia....

Strangely enough, his suit got between the missiles and the Pegasus. They slammed about his suit, errupting random apendaged into flames of explosion.

His vision began to dim...He'd forgotten about himself again...It didn't matter, he gave his life for another...Damn....just like Derek...Visions of his father sprang to mind.....Family picnics....the fair....His first time of the ferris wheel. Dad was there to hold onto him, promising that he wouldn't fall....Dad...

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Zach_Rendar on Tue Oct 04, 2005 12:47 am

No way...

The Leo had thrown itself into the path of the missiles... it had detonated... leaving a blinding glow in the dead of space.

The mission...

Zach launched Epiphany towards L2, to head around Earth and return to Gilgamesh. Ess and the others would be waiting for him, assuming they had gotten away.

Passing by the L2 cluster, Zach programmed the coordinates of Gilgamesh into Epiphany's system and allowed himself to close his eyes as his gundam piloted him back to safety...

"Mr. Kushrenada... is this what you had in mind?"

As the boxy silhouette of The Gilgamesh came into view, Zach wondered if this rescue had done more harm than good for The Defenders.

***

Once he boarded though, all worries were wiped away. There was a great cheer as he exited Epiphany, already a line of mechanics were swarming over the dober shot still lodged in Epiphany's leg and the damaged electrical coils on the inside elbow.

Ess stepped forward and hugged him, Millie who he had only met briefly during his tour of The Gilgamesh, actually kissed his cheek, tears streaming down her face from her reddened eyes. Boris, who was now lying in a rolling gurney, waved cheerfully at Zach. Boris had a blanket with what seemed to be a giant purple heart colored in marker colored on it. Zach checked the wound with his own medical expertise. The turret bullet had passed through the trolley Boris had been hiding behind and lodged itself in his anklebone. Marilyn had done a wonderful job of patching it up, she had some medical knack behind her mechanic uniform.

"Zach, we need to talk."

"Yes, Ess?"

"The guy we picked up in Florence, he still hasn't waken up."

"That's a bad thing?"

"I'm serious! What if I-"

"Don't worry about your batting skills, Ess. Just give the guy some stimulants, and he should be up within the hour."

"Also... Zach?"

"Yeah?"

Ess hesitated, she seemed to want to choose her words carefully.

"Why were you late coming back?"

"L3 brought in reinforcements..."

"Did they ID Epiphany?"

"I don't know."

"Well Zach, The Defenders have a situation on our hands, that's for sure. Let's not worry about it though, our very first mission was a success with only one casualty that was very minor. We should join the rest and let them celebrate with us."

"Should we?"

"I'd rather put my feet up on the console, in the quiet of this cockpit, and just relax..."

"We think along the same lines, Ess."

The two teens propped their feet up onto the console and let out simultaneous sighs of relief.

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby FutureKiyoshi on Tue Oct 04, 2005 12:50 am

Kiyoshi's eyes quickly went back to the main screen as he watched whoever it was piloting the Leo be engulfed in light.

Han - No!

Kiyoshi glared harshly at the screen.

I want to know who that pilot was...

Kiyoshi got to his feet and looked at the light as it started to fade. He slowly walked closer.

You said that your people defended...that they didn't kill...you lied.

Han looked at Kiyoshi. Kiyoshi's right hand was in a tight fist. Han noticed his eyes. It was the coldest glare he had ever seen come from this man.

Worker - The Leo design matches to that of Wind...from }{G...

Kiyoshi's eyes went into shock and then the cold icy glare once more.

I never had the chance to meet him...

Kiyoshi turned and walked out of the command center. Han stood there wondering what he was supposed to do and started to call out to Kiyoshi, but he was already down the hall.

Memories flooded Kiyoshi's mind once more. He dropped to the ground. Holding his head. Images of blood on his hands flash to him in the cockpit of a mobile suit, to standing in front of Cloud when Kiyoshi was very young. The memories stopped on one forcing a flash back.

A young girl stands in front of an 18 year old Kiyoshi. Kiyoshi holds a gun out towards her.

You betrayed me...

Girl - I had to! You've caused more harm than good! What's happened to you Kiyoshi.

You betrayed the colonies...

Girl - Kiyoshi! Stop following others ideals! You have to live and make your own! Wars don't last forever, if you continue on like this you'll be nothing but a puppet for the rest of your life! Is that what you are going to be now, just another puppet! Following orders!

The eighteen year old Kiyoshi narrows his eyes on the girl. The sound of the gunshot rips through Kiyoshi's mind pulling him out of the flashback. Han starts to help him up as Kiyoshi shakes the tears from his eyes.

Han - Sir...are you alright...

Kiyoshi pushes Han off of him and he walks off.

No more are supposed to die...it's supposed to be over...

Wind: Mia, i'm sorry, I have to go. I have the ship set to auto pilot incase I don't make it back. Please, take care of Pegasus.

She shot up from her chair at the sound of her name, rubbing her eyes as she tries to make out the annoucement. It took a moment for it to all sink in.

He's leaving?!? Wait--

Sliding off of her chair she stumbles out of the small shuttle, once again peering out into the corridors of Pegasus. She heard engines roaring from the hangar as she tilted her head towards all of the commotion. Running towards the hangar, she was but a second too late as she watched through a side window, the same gundam that she saw through the surveillance system of the shuttle.

Is he mad?!

Continuing to run through the same corridor, she knew that the bridge wasn't far off from the hangar. Her heart was pounding as she immediately turned the corner towards the main controls. Working fast, she pulled up as many screens as she could that could zero in on Leo's location.

It was unbelievable.

Suddenly, a deafening siren went off in Pegasus, the screens before her flashing red as a warning report read 'INCOMING MISSILES' They were coming towards Pegasus so fast that she only caught a glimpse of Leo as a blinding light encircled them.

Kaaaaaaaaadeeeeen!!!

Darkness, all around him...

Death, sinking into his skin...

No, the fire was too hot...It was burning him alive...

Wrong again, cold...freezing...

That voice....it wasn't the same as before.

Voice - Get up..

I can't...It's over..

Voice - It's not over! Don't give up now!

Dad, I did good, didn't I..?

Voice - Yes son, you did.

Are.....are you proud of me...?

Voice - Very much so.

Finally....he'd done it. Something right...After a lifetime of failure, he'd done something right..If a tear could have fallen from his eye, then it would've. But wait....he felt it...the wetness of the salty tear lightly caressed his cheek....But how?

Voice - You're not done yet.

His eyes slowly opened, pain errupting all over his body. The stars...they were so....perfect....Then he thought of Mia...beautiful Mia..Her smile...Those eyes....His heart jumped in his chest, knowing he'd have another chance to gaze into them....It would be his own little piece of heaven, for now..

OOC:If I made this into an action I think it'd kinda' ruin the moment. Truth is, the A.I. was added into the Leo's OS when Wind did the upgrades. It ejected him from the cockpit before the suit reached it's critical form. So, that should answer that question.
