Zach
The ionized beam of energy sliced through the vacuum in front of Epiphany, cutting Zach off from his "attack" on The Enkido. He saw the smaller ship dock with the emergency bay, hopefully it would be close to the prison area.
There were three main suits bearing down on his positions, all of them Leos. Zach recognized the attack pattern as an arrowhead formation, the leader in front and his support flanking him to the rear. He had seen it work during the battle of Libra, and he saw how the Earth forces had taken it down.
Igniting his beam saber, he suddenly shot off to the right, evading the shots of the leader, and shooting down to dodge the fire of the support. The Leos came around for another pass. Zach knew that as long as they had the beam cannons, his beam saber was no use, and vulcans didn't have the range beam weapons did. The Leo pilots knew this as well, for the put on an extra burst of speed and bore down on Epiphany.
It was time to unleash his custom design.
Engaging the energy refractors, Zach bent the energy of his saber so that it resembled a boomerang. He reached back and hurled it at the Leos.
They scattered and reformed, it was the beauty of the arrowhead formation; it could break and assemble easily. However, they thought they were out of danger.
Zach fired off towards the Leo to the right. Doing so, he activated the magnetrons in Epiphany's right hand, calling the hilt of the boomerang back.
Like a spinning green frisbee of death, the boomerang returned, hitting the unsuspecting Leo in the back, rupturing the Vernier pack. The compacted fuel ignited and sent the Leo rocketing off away from the colony, spinning like a bizarre mechanical ballerina. Its fellow supporter hesitated and sped off after its partner.
This left only one Leo.
The pilot inside must've been familiar with the art of battle. He shouldered his beam cannon and withdrew his saber. Zach in turn retracted the refractors, leaving him with a standard beam saber as well.
For once, Zach was grateful for his father's teachings in melee combat. He may not have been much of a pilot, but he was a damn good swordsman.
Hopefully his skills would tranfer to piloting.
Ess
The Enkido docked in the emergency hangar. Ess and her crew leapt out of the ship, some wearing bandanas to hide their faces, Ess kept her face clear though, except for a small air filtrater she held in her mouth.
Already guards were pouring into the emergency bay to help the supposedly damaged shuttle. Boris, wearing a blue bandana, pulled the pin on his grenade and threw it at the men.
With a hiss, a resounding boom, and a flash off light, the grenade knocked the guards to the floor before unleashing its load of knock-out gas to make sure they stayed down.
All was going well for now. Ess hoped Zach was faring well outside the colony...
Hal assisted by knocking out the line of guards in front of the prison complex with a flash-bang-gas grenade. From there, it was easy enough to take a keycard to gain access to the high-security area.
Once inside though, things took a drastic turn.
Inside the complex, the main door slid shut behind them, and automatic turrets burst into rapid-fire. The Defenders scrambled to find cover, Boris hiding behind a luncheon trolly rolled over to a computer terminal. Doing his best to access it, but not being able to find a password, he stood up and waved his arms. The turrets, sensing movement, swiveled and fired at him as he dove behind the trolley once more as bullets peppered the terminal and the computer systems behind it.
The turrets stopped firing at once.
Splitting up, Ess and three of her team took to the individual wings of the prison, while Marilyn stayed behind with Boris to try and patch up the bullethole in his ankle.
They had to find Millie... if she was still alive...
