Therianthropy. Werebeasts and Were-Diseases.

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby CassandraGirlNCR on Fri Aug 23, 2013 2:49 pm

Therianthropes refer to any werebeast.

Perhaps the most common type of werebeast, Lycanthropes or none-feral Werewolves are fast, ferocious and fearsome.
"It is said there is no sin in killing a beast,
only in killing a man...
But where does one begin and the other end?"
There is no known cure for Lycanthropy. Once you are one, it will be forever. Lycanthropes are unable to control or learn magic.
The full moon does not affect werewolves. Also, non-feral werewolves can control themselves intelligently in wolf form. Werewolves are extremely fast strong and agile, capable of moving extremely fast, leaping from trees and buildings onto living things, can easily scale stone walls and trees, and are highly resistant to normal weapons. Werewolves have perfect night vision in wolf form, and in human form can see the world slightly lighter in the dark.
Becoming a werewolf doesn't turn you fully into a wolf, it's more half-man half-wolf in wolf form and full man in human form.
Pack Mentality
Many packs are called tribes while in human form and packs while in wolf form.
Alpha- A werewolf pack is led by a singly leader, in human form and beast form alike, known as the Alpha. It is the strongest, most powerful and most lethal variety of werewolf. He rules the pack often times by fear and physical prowess. When in wolf form, the Alpha is larger than other werewolves and usually has pitch black fur and searing red irises. Only an Alpha has the legendary ability to pass on the gift of Lycanthropy (Or if by feral werewolf it's a curse) by claw, teeth or shared blood. Alpha's are very resistant and nothing known to man or elf, other than magic and silver, can break through it's hide.
Betas- The Beta werewolf serves the Alpha werewolf, and all other werewolf other than the alpha in a pack is a Beta. They serve as the Alpha's attack dogs, and are smaller in form and physically weaker than the Alpha and are very respectful to the Alpha in both wolf and human form. Betas usually have grey or brown fur with yellow irises. Like the Alpha, they are resistant to almost everything excepting silver and magic, and are exceptionally weaker to these than the Alpha.
The Omega- The Omega is a werewolf without a pack. Usually newly turned by a feral Alpha, or an intelligent wolf choosing not to be in a pack. Omega's wolf form is USUALLY grey but unlike Betas they usually have green eyes rather than yellow.

Sanies Lupinus
The last form you read about, Lycanthropy, is considered a gift. A blessing. But wolves turned feral are due to a disease. A curse. Humans with this curse are often banished, and within the first few years are unable to control the wolf within. After the first few years, the are called feral and are unable to become human at all. They are unintelligent, feral and ruthless. It's less common to see feral packs, as many feral groups are about three werewolves of any shape or form. They lust for blood and only kill.
