I figured that was the cleverest that I could get with a name, but I digress.

Hello all! My name is electric, and I'm here to propose to you a new way to get the word out about rpg to those folks outside of our community who aren't really sure what we do.

I'm certainly looking for folks who would be willing to handle platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and I think that my main idea was to have weekly or monthly posts with news and then posts every few days featuring rps that have filled out an application to be promoted. I'd love to team up with people to get working on rp applications and then begin running ideas for what and when posts would go up. I have some experience with running social media for business, and I know it would probably be helpful to set up an IFTTT and such, but the more people who can promote, the better.

Remæus brought up the great idea that other sites use, of having an app process and then voting as a community to promote an rp or perhaps even a user or character every few days or so.

This is of course a little intro post, but if anyone has any ideas of how to do this or wants to get involved, then post away!

Seconded this idea. I know I'm on Facebook more than is probably healthy, and one of our MV GMs has professional social media experience.

It's not a bad idea.

I believe that we have a Twitter and Facebook. But far as I am aware they are not widely used. Maybe a group on one of these platforms? I'm fairly social media savvy, but mostly about flying below the radar.

Also, I'd like to point out some of us are more comfortable than others allowing our actual names and info to be known through FB/Twitter/etc.

That's easy to get around. A lot of FB pages for a business, celebrity, or what have you have "admins" where one or more people can post under the name to manage the brand's image and keep producing content that engages fans and followers.

So in the case that, say, you and I were both admins of the RPG Facebook page, we could both post about current events, Throwback Thursday to when major battles or events happened, and interact with others without ever giving up our real names. Usually what happens here is that each post is "signed" with the chosen handle of the admin responsible.
